Apple is expected to launch a new Mac Mini model sometime next year. We had reported on a number of rumors regarding its possible design and specifications. But a new report has suggested that it might not feature the anticipated redesign after all.
I think the new Mac mini in 2023 will likely remain the same form factor design.

According to known analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the Cupertino based giant will likely retain the same design as the current gen model. In other words, the 2021 Mac Mini will also feature the typical aluminum unibody design that the brand has used for every Mac Mini since 2010. Just earlier this week, we had covered another report from Kuo where he stated that the company will not be launching its new high end Mac Mini till next year.
However, recent reports had hinted at the upcoming Mac Mini model arriving with a refreshed design. Known tipsters like Jon Prosser claimed that the iPhone maker will be launching the small PC with a smaller chasis and a new “plexiglass like” top. Apple has been rumored to be working on this Mac Mini model for a while now. So, it won’t be a surprise if it finally planned on offering it with a redesign. This refresh would be in line with its hardware refresh that came in November 2020, when the Mac Mini received the M1 chipset.
Previously, we had also reported on a rumor that hinted at the company launching the next gen Mac Mini with a M1 Pro and M1 Max chipset. But it seems like these plans fell through to make way for the newly unveiled, Mac Studio. At the moment, Apple is believed to be working on two Mac Mini models. One may offer M2 chipset, while the other is a higher end variant with possibly a M2 Pro chipset.
