A couple of days ago, along with the Mate Xs 2 foldable smartphone, Huawei also unveiled the MatePad SE tablet in its home market China as a more affordable version in the company’s lineup of MatePad-series tablets.
Today, the newly launched Huawei MatePad SE is officially available for purchase in the Chinese market. The Wi-Fi version with 4GB RAM and 128GB internal storage is priced at 1,499 yuan, which is around $225.
There’s also another version of the tablet with the same memory configuration of 4GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage but has cellular connectivity support, which is priced at 1,699 yuan which is about $255.
The Huawei MatePad SE features a 10.1-inch Full HD+ IPS display with a screen resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels IPS display and offers a screen-to-body ratio of 80 percent. Under the hood, the device is powered by the company’s own Kirin 710 processor.
The octa-core processor has four Cortex-A73 cores at 2.0GHz, four Cortex-A53 cores at 1.7GHz, and Mali G51 GPU. It packs 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.
It comes with dual-channel speakers along with support for Histen 7.0 Sound. In the camera department, there’s a 5-megapixel camera sensor on the back panel and a 2-megapixel snapper on the front for taking selfies and video calling.
In the software department, the Huawei MatePad SE is running the company’s own HarmonyOS 2, which offers support for features like smart multi-window and functions such as vision, hyper terminal, and smooth call, among others. Both models of the tablet come powered by a 5,100mAh battery.
