Design
In terms of design, both the POCO X5 and the POCO X5 Pro are similar not only in their build materials, with both being made of polycarbonate, but also in their looks. However, the POCO X5 Pro is slightly lighter and thinner, weighing 181 g and being 7.9 mm thick, while the POCO X5 weighs 189 g and is 8 mm thick. Both devices come with IP53 certification, making them dust and splash resistant. Both displays are protected by Gorilla Glass 5, providing excellent scratch resistance. You would better focus on the other specifications because if we look at the design, these devices are almost identical.
Display
Both the POCO X5 and the POCO X5 Pro come with a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, as well as a 120 Hz refresh rate. It comes with 6 GB, 8 GB, or 12 GB of RAM and 128 GB or 256 GB of internal storage. Both devices run Android 12 out of the box, customized by MIUI 13 in a special version for POCO devices. It is sad seeing devices released in 2023 still with Android 12, but they are very affordable, so several people won’t mind about it. The Pro variant provides better performance, as you probably understood.
Camera
In terms of camera, the POCO X5 Pro comes with a triple-camera setup, consisting of a 108 MP main camera, an 8 MP ultrawide lens, and a 2 MP macro camera. It also has a 16 MP front-facing camera. On the other hand, the POCO X5 has a triple-camera setup consisting of a 48 MP main camera, an 8 MP ultrawide lens, and a 2 MP macro camera. It also has a 13 MP front-facing camera. The superiority of the Pro variant is pretty clear: it has a better main camera on the rear side and it also comes with a better selfie camera, while the secondary sensors are exactly the same.
Battery
Both the POCO X5 and the POCO X5 Pro come with a 5000 mAh battery. However, the POCO X5 Pro supports faster charging, with a 67W fast charging capability and reverse charging support, while the POCO X5 supports 33W fast charging. The processors of these phones are built with the same production process and they both come with AMOLED displays, so you should not expect a big difference in terms of battery life.
