Nothing OS 5.0 update: List of unsupported phones

Nothing is preparing to release the Nothing OS 5.0 update, which is based on Android 17. The beta program is already live on select devices, and the stable rollout should be here in a few weeks.

Most Nothing phones are eligible for the Nothing OS 5.0 upgrade, except for three. The brand has already fulfilled the major OS updates promised to these three devices at launch, so they are no longer eligible for OS updates.

These Nothing phones won’t get the Nothing OS 5.0 update

• Nothing Phone 1 (Last OS: Android 15)
• Nothing Phone 2 (Last OS: Android 16)
• CMF Phone 1 (Last OS: Android 16)

While these three Nothing phones aren’t eligible for Android 17, the Nothing Phone 2 and CMF Phone 1 will continue to receive security patches until mid-2027. The first-gen Nothing Phone 1, however, has already reached the end of its life.

If you’re still using the Nothing Phone 1, it’s advised to upgrade to a newer model. Not only are you missing the latest features, but also the latest security patches that protect your device from various security threats.

Nothing Phone 2 and CMF Phone 1 users should also consider upgrading the hardware to ensure they continue to receive Nothing OS updates, which usually bring exciting visual upgrades and new features.
