A month after the HyperOS 4 beta program was unveiled in China, it’s finally expanding to the global markets. Xiaomi has already begun the global beta rollout to three phones, with more scheduled to receive it later this month.
Xiaomi will release the HyperOS 4 global beta update to seven smartphones. The beta recruitment is already live for the first round of devices, which includes Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Ultra, and Xiaomi Leica Leitzphone. Remaining devices will be eligible for the beta program starting September 17th.
First round (already live)
- Xiaomi 17 Ultra
- Xiaomi 17
- Leica Leitzphone powered by Xiaomi
Second round (starting September 17th)
- Xiaomi 17T Pro
- Xiaomi 17T
- Xiaomi 15 Ultra
- Xiaomi 15
The beta program isn’t being rolled out to all global markets at the same time. It’s currently limited to Global and EEA models, with more regions likely to join in the coming days and weeks.
The number of seats may be limited, so you must submit your application as early as possible. To apply for the beta program, go to Xiaomi Community > ME > Beta testing > Recruiting test and fill in the required details. If your application gets selected, you’ll soon receive a beta OTA update.
It’s important to note that beta builds are prone to bugs and errors. It’s also recommended to back up your important data before upgrading to HyperOS 4 beta. There won’t be easy going back, though. If you wish to roll back to HyperOS 3, you’ll need to flash the device.
