iPhone 20 Pro series screen details leak, including resolutions and a punch-hole cutout

Digital Chat Station has shared early screen details for the iPhone 20 Pro series, adding to its earlier claims about a quad-curved display for Apple’s 20th-anniversary iPhone. According to the leak, the iPhone 20 Pro has a 6.41-inch screen with a resolution of roughly 2686 x 1236 pixels, while the iPhone 20 Pro Max is said to have a 6.96-inch screen at around 2912 x 1340 pixels. 

The tipster also says early testing has shown a borderless, quad-curved design with a punch-hole cutout. However, these details come from test units, so they could change before Apple launches the final phones.

How the screens compare with the iPhone 18 Pro series

The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max launched earlier this month with 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch screens, respectively. The iPhone 18 Pro has a 2622 x 1206-pixel resolution, while the Pro Max has a 2868 x 1320-pixel resolution. Both displays have a pixel density of 460 ppi.

The leaked iPhone 20 Pro sizes would be a small step up. The Pro would be around 0.1 inch larger, while the Pro Max would gain roughly 0.06 inch. The resolutions would also increase slightly, with only a few dozen extra pixels along each edge.

Based on the leaked sizes and resolutions, the pixel density would still work out to roughly 460 ppi. That means the phones could have slightly larger screens without a noticeable change in sharpness. The leaked resolutions also have the same proportions as the current Pro models.

What we have heard about the display so far

In April, DCS said Apple was working with Samsung on a custom display for the anniversary model, with all four edges slightly curved and no polarizer layer. The tipster said Apple was still fine-tuning the curvature at the time, so it was unclear how aggressive the curves would be. The latest numbers do not reveal how deep those curves are either, leaving that part of the design unclear.

A render video we covered in May showed an iPhone 20 with no visible cutout, with both the front camera and Face ID placed under the display. The punch-hole mentioned in this latest leak points to a different design, at least on the test units, with the front camera still visible.

Reports around the same time said Apple was working with Samsung and LG to reduce brightness loss around the curved edges. That suggests the display design was still being developed and could change before the final phone is ready.

The iPhone 18 Pro series still uses the Dynamic Island, which has been adjusted to show up to three Live Activities at once. Moving to a punch-hole would therefore be a noticeable change to the front of the iPhone.

Where the iPhone 20 Pro series stands

There is still a long way to go before Apple’s 20th-anniversary iPhone arrives. In June, DCS said Apple had started testing and molding for the iPhone’s 2027 series, while also describing “iPhone 19” as a tentative name.

Reports since last October have suggested that Apple’s 20th-anniversary iPhone might not be called the iPhone 19. Apple has not announced the device or confirmed its name.

With the iPhone turning 20 in 2027, there is still plenty of time for these plans to change. For now, the leaked screen sizes, resolutions, and punch-hole design should be treated as test-stage details rather than final specifications.
