Vivo has announced the fourth edition of its Imagine Smartphone Photography Awards in India. The competition continues to focus on smartphone-based visual storytelling and creative expression. This year’s edition introduces a new format alongside the existing photography categories.
Vivo Imagine 2026 adds a short film category
The fourth edition is being held in association with National Geographic Creative Works under the theme “How Far Your Curiosity Can Take You?” Entries opened on September 23 and will remain open until November 1, 2026. The awards now feature six categories, including five photography categories covering Portrait, Nature & Landscape, Night & Light, Motion, and Street & Culture.
The new Short Film category carries the theme “My City” and marks Vivo Imagine’s move into mobile videography. It is aimed at creators who use smartphones to tell stories through short-form video, complementing the competition’s focus on still photography.
The Grand Winner will receive Rs 5 lakh, while winners across all six categories, including the Grand Winner, will receive a Vivo X300 Ultra smartphone. The winning entries and creators will be recognised at the conclusion of Vivo Imagine Season 4 in November.
Jury, activities and how to participate
The judging panel includes photographers Auditya Venkatesh, Vineet Vohra, Rakesh Pulapa, and Aamir Wani. Beyond the competition, Vivo says the fourth edition will include photo walks, masterclasses, photography tips, and learning sessions led by its professional photographers across India.
Participants can submit photographs or short videos captured on a Vivo smartphone through the official Vivo Imagine website. Following the audit process, the jury will evaluate the entries before the category winners and Grand Winner are announced in November 2026. The previous edition received more than 63,000 entries from across India, with Soumayan Biswas winning the Grand Prize of Rs 5 lakh.
