Citizen has released a new limited-edition timepiece to mark the upcoming 100th anniversary of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in 2026. The Sorcerer Mickey’s 100th Anniversary Macy’s Parade watch is available now for $395.
It is a strictly capped release, with only 500 units being produced worldwide, and is sold exclusively through Citizen’s US website and Macy’s retail locations.
Design Details
Looking at the hardware, the watch (model AW1696-03W) features a 40mm two-tone stainless steel case. Citizen opted for a sapphire crystal, which provides reliable scratch resistance for daily wear.
It carries a water resistance rating of WR50 (5 Bar), meaning it can handle light swimming or rain, but it is not built for diving or heavy water exposure. The watch ships with a standard leather strap and a traditional buckle clasp.
Internally, the timepiece runs on Citizen’s J810 Eco-Drive movement. This is a practical choice for a collector’s item. The Eco-Drive system, which happens to be marking its 50th anniversary this year, is powered by ambient light, both natural and artificial.
This setup eliminates the need for standard battery replacements, meaning the watch will continue to keep time even if it spends most of its life sitting in a display case, provided it gets occasional light exposure. The movement supports a basic three-hand layout alongside a date window.
In terms of dial design, Citizen has worked with Disney artists John and Shelley Loter to develop exclusive artwork for the blue metal dial. The illustration shows Mickey Mouse wearing his Sorcerer’s Apprentice costume as he floats over the New York City skyline.
It draws inspiration from Mickey’s appearance as a Macy’s parade balloon in 1934. The dial also swaps traditional hour numerals for red and gold star markers.
In related news, Citizen has recently launched a Marvel Dr. Doom watch featuring Eco-Drive technology and a striking green design.
