Infinix Hot 50 4G specs

The Infinix Hot 50 4G has a 6.78-inch IPS LCD display bearing an FHD+ resolution which is an upgrade from the 5G version. It features a 120Hz refresh rate and a bumped up 800 nits peak brightness. Infinix says that the screen is responsive to wet and greasy fingers. The device comes with the same design as the Hot 50 5G with a pill-shaped camera module on the back panel and a power button that doubles up as a fingerprint scanner.

The Redmi Note 14 Pro and Pro+ feature a new design with a slim profile and squircle camera island on the rear that is now positioned in the center. Both phones have an IP69 certification for dust and water-resistance. The front of the devices are also shielded by Gorilla Glass Victus 2. 

The Redmi Note 14 Pro duo have a curved AMOLED display measuring 6.67-inches. It bears a 1.5K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and 3,000 nits peak brightness. The screen is equipped with a fingerprint scanner. The phones also support HDR10+ and Dolby Vision.

Meanwhile, the Pro variant draws its power from a 5,500mAh unit with 45W charging. Software-wise, the devices run on HyperOS-based Android 14 out of the box. 

The Redmi Note 14 Pro and Pro+ come in Midnight Black and Mirror Porcelain White colors. The former is also offered in Phantom Blue and Twilight Purple whereas the later comes in Sandstar Green shade. The Note 14 Pro starts at CNY 1,399 (~$199) for the 8+128GB variant whereas the 8+256GB costs CNY 1,499 (~$213). Sony unveiled the PS5 Pro globally last week. The Japanese brand is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the PlayStation brand this year. And to commemorate the occasion, the company has announced a 30th Anniversary limited edition of the PS5 consoles as well as accessories. The USP is that it pays homage to the original PS 1 console.

The 30th Anniversary Edition includes the digital version of the PS5, newly announced PS5 Pro, DualSense, DualSense Edge controllers, disk drive cover, and the PlayStation Portal. Both the consoles and accessories feature an iconic Grey color and the multicolored PS logo. There’s also 30th Anniversary logo embossed on the devices. The brand is offering the original controller-style cable housing, a sticker, a limited edition PlayStation poster, four PlayStation shaped cable ties, and a Paperclip. 

The 30th Anniversary Edition invokes nostalgia for those who owned the first PlayStation that debuted in 1994. All devices will ship with a special packaging with a design that looks similar to the original offering.

Internally, the Relame TechLife Cinesonic TVs are powered by a quad-core MediaTek processor. They pack 2GB RAM and 16GB onboard storage for a seamless performance. Software-wise, the televisions run on Google TV and come with screen mirroring and pre-installed popular OTT apps like Prime Video, Netflix, and more. Connectivity options on the TVs include three HDMI ports, two USB ports, WiFi, and Bluetooth.

The latest-generation iPhone 16 series is here. The lineup comprises the standard, plus, pro, and pro max variants. These arrive as the successors to last year’s iPhone 15 models. Alongside the new smartphones, Apple has also unveiled AirPods 4 and Watch Series 10. The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus come with incremental upgrades over their predecessor. Apple Intelligence is the main highlight of this year’s models. Read on to know everything below. 

iPhone 16, 16 Plus debut

The most notable change on the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus is in design. Apple has gone back to the iPhone X-era by ditching the square camera island and a diagonal sensor placement found on recent-generation iPhones. The new models have a protruding pill-shaped camera module with the sensors stacked vertically. The Cupertino-based tech giant has also parted ways with the legacy mute switch in favor of the Action Button found on last year’s Pro models. Apple has retained the same frosted glass back panel on the iPhone 16 duo. Surprisingly, the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus also feature a dedicated camera button (more about it below).

The iPhone 16 and 16 Plus come with the same OLED screen measuring 6.1 and 6.7 inches as their predecessor. There is a dynamic island and the display packs 2,000 nits peak brightness.

On the optics front, the iPhone 16 and 16 Plus feature the same cameras as their predecessor. This means a 48MP main lens with 2x telephoto and a 12MP ultra-wide-angle sensor. The latter also lets you shoot macro images. The phones are also capable of shooting spatial photos and videos, which were limited to the pro models previously. The camera button will work similarly as a DSLR shutter button. A light press will focus on the subject whereas full press will capture the image. Notably, the button is also touch sensitive, so sliding on it will enable adjusting settings like zoom.

Under the hood, the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are powered by an A18 processor. Both pack 8GB RAM and up to 512GB storage. The devices will also be able to run Apple Intelligence features (releasing next month) that were shown off at the WWDC this year. The smartphones come with hardware-accelerated ray tracing and are capable of running AAA titles. There is a thermal sheet for higher sustained performance for gaming. Apple says that the iPhone 16 duo comes with a ‘big battery boost’, but the exact capacity remains unclear.

Other features on the iPhone 16 include a USB-C port, emergency SOS via satellite, WiFi-7, MagSafe charging, and more.

The TWS earphones come with a Conversational mode that reduces the volume when you’re talking to somebody. The ANC version also packs transparency mode and adaptive audio. This gives interested customers more choices while purchasing depending on their usage preferences and budget. Both AirPods 4 models are equipped with an H2 chipset. It is said to improve battery life, personalise the listening experience, pair faster, and more. 

The AirPods 4 are claimed to be backed by 30 hours of battery life with a storage case that supports wireless charging. With the latest offerings, Apple has also completed the shift to USB-C ports across all its devices. The earbuds are rated to offer 6.5 hours of usage. 

The AirPods 4 duo come with several features including Find My, a revamped case with a built-in speaker, seamless audio switching, and more.

Apple Intelligence was announced at this year’s WWDC in June. Although the exact release timeline for the public remains unclear, a host of AI features are expected to debut in the next year on the company’s iPhones, iPads, and Macs. The Cupertino-based tech giant has been releasing beta versions. The Developer Beta 3 of the latest iOS and iPadOS 18.1 and macOS 15.1 Sequoia bring an AI-powered ‘Clean Up’ tool in the Photos app. This is Apple’s answer to Google’s Magic Eraser and Samsung’s Object Eraser.

Before we get into the details, It’s worth noting that the beta version is unstable. Hence, it is not recommended to download and install on a device device that is your daily driver. The feature is released only on devices that support Apple Intelligence. These include the iPhone 15 Pro models and the M-powered Macs and iPads. 

The Clean Up tool as the name suggests can identify and remove distracting objects and strangers. It also comes with the ability to heal blemishes and pixelate people’s faces to conceal their identity. Although it intelligently detects and removes unwanted elements, users get the option to tap, brush, and circle if they don’t want something in the image. You can also zoom in to fix minute details. It is also capable of removing unwanted shadows and reflections. 

The Clean Up feature is accessible when editing a picture in the Photos app. It appears as an eraser-style icon in the bottom toolbar. Images edited using the tool will be labelled as ‘Modified with Clean Up’ and added to the EXIF data. It works with all images even if they were captured by another phone or a DSLR. 

The AI-powered Clean Up feature is not entirely flawless. We can expect it to be polished till the release of a stable version.

Infinix has quietly announced two new TWS earphones in India to mark the company’s special 7th anniversary. They are dubbed the Infinix XE27 and Buds Neo. Although the former is the more premium offering among the two, they share almost identical specifications. Notably, both earphones have affordable price tags under the Rs 2,000 segment. OnePlus has unveiled the Buds 3 Pro in the global market. They arrive as the direct successor to the Buds 2 Pro that debuted last year. To recall, the brand announced the standard variant of the latest offering earlier in January of this year. As the name suggests, the OnePlus Buds 3 Pro packs some upgrades compared to the non-pro offering as well as compared to its predecessor.

OnePlus introduced its first AI feature called AI Eraser earlier in April this year. Recently, the company quietly announced three new AI features in a community post. Those bring the ability to listen to articles, get summaries, and generate text. However, the catch is that the latest AI features are limited to only two Nord devices and in select markets. Although they are expected to arrive on other OnePlus phones in the near future, it’s kind of disappointing. 

OnePlus AI features introduced but only for Nord phones for now

The newly announced OnePlus AI features are AI Speak, AI Summary, and AI Writer. Going by the names, it’s pretty easy to know what those features are. The AI Speak will read articles from browsers and apps like Google News. There are options to adjust the playback speed, switch sentences, use the replay function, and choose from male and female voices. The AI Summary feature lets you create summaries of lengthy information on the web. The result can be copied, shared, and saved to Notes. The selected text can also be saved to the File Dock. Lastly, the AI Writer feature will help users to draft text for various things like emails, social media posts, and reviews. It will be suggested inside relevant apps. 

The results of the AI Summary and AI Writer can be regenerated if you’re not satisfied. All three new features are available inside the AI Toolkit that is directly integrated in the sidebar. OnePlus says that to access these features, users have to enable screen recognition which can be found in Settings > Accessibility & Convenience. 

The newly announced OnePlus AI features are available on the OnePlus Nord 4 in India, Asia-Pacific, Europe, the Middle East and Africa, South Asia, Russia, and Latin America. It is also available on the Nord CE4 Lite 5G exclusively in India. Owners of flagship OnePlus phones have been left out from receiving the new AI tools. It’s possible that OnePlus is testing the features first on mid-range Nord devices. We can expect a wider rollout soon.

It is capable of detecting atrial fibrillation and delivering irregular heart-rate rhythm alerts. There is also a cEDA sensor that detects any signs of stress and a temperature sensor for measuring the skin temperature. The latest generation smartwatch supports advanced running metrics. It offers custom runs, audio and haptic cues, and improving form with various metrics. The wearable device features a readiness score that will determine if you are ready to take up a workout or need to rest. The cardio load measures your heart rate and determines if you are under or overtraining. Google is also introducing a new Morning Brief feature that will summarize each metric including sleep quality and readiness score. There’s a built-in car crash detection and also fall detection. 

The Google Pixel Watch 3 gains a new ability to view Nest Doorbells and Cameras on their wrists for added convenience. It can also control Google TV. Maps can be accessed offline and Google Wallet can be used for payments. Users can also control their Pixel phone’s camera from the smartwatch and also switch between photo and video modes. The smartwatch also comes with ultrawide-band connectivity for precise location tracking and unlocking compatible cars as well as smartphones. There’s also support for dual-band WiFi.

The core internals remain the same on the Pixel Watch 3 as the Pixel Watch 2. There is a Snapdragon Wear 5100 processor paired with 2GB RAM and 32GB eMMC storage. The 41mm variant is backed by a 310mAh cell which is slightly larger than its predecessor. Meanwhile, the 45mm model runs on a 420mAh unit.

The Pixel Watch 3 starts at $349 / EUR 399 for the 41mm WiFi version which is unchanged from its predecessor. The LTE model is costlier by $50 and retails at $449 / EUR 499. The larger 45mm model carries a price tag of $399 / EUR 449 and $499 / EUR 549 for the WiFi and LTE variants respectively.

Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold specs

The Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold has a proper foldable phone-like looks compared to its predecessor that had a wider aspect ratio. In fact, the primary external screen is taller and looks similar to a slab phone. Similar to the Pixel 9 series, the foldable phone also has rounded corner offering a better grip in hands. The company says that the device’s boasts a multi-alloy steel with an aerospace-grade high-strength aluminium alloy cover. The back panel of the device sports a rectangular camera island with two pill-shaped cutouts accomodating sensors. The power and volume rocker keys are located on the right side. The former also doubles up as a fingerprint scanner. The Pixel 9 Pro Fold is said to fold flat completely unlike its predecessor. It can also be used in a tabletop mode.

The external display on the Pixel 9 Pro Fold measures 6.3-inches. It is surrounded by symmetrical bezels on all sides and has a centre-aligned punch-hole cutout. The AMOLED screen bears an FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. The foldable phone features a large 8-inch internal Super Actua Flex panel screen bringing it on par with the OnePlus Open. It has a resolution of 2,152 x 2,076 pixels with a 120Hz LTPO refresh rate and 2,700 nits peak brightness. 

On the optics front, the Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold has a 48MP main camera accompanied by a 10.5MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 10.8MP telephoto unit with 5x zoom and 20x super res zoom. Both the internal and external screens have a 10MP selfie camera sensors. Much like the Pixel bar phones, the foldable phone also comes with various camera features and also intelligent editing features.

It ships with Android 14 OS and is eligible for 7 years of OS updates just as the Pixel 9 series. Google‘s Pixel 9 series includes the standard, pro, and pro XL models. The search giant is reviving the XL moniker after 7 years which was found on the Pixel 4 Pro XL. While there’s a significant difference between the standard and pro variants, the Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL have only a few differences between them. Additionally, the Pixel 9 Pro is also significantly upgraded compared to its predecessor. Read on to learn everything about both devices below. 

Google Pixel 9 Pro, Pro XL specifications

The Google Pixel 9 Pro and Pro XL share the same boxier design with a flat frame and rounded corners. The back panel has a horizontal protruding camera bridge that does not stretch to the sides. It has a matte finish and so does the entire rear panel. The sensors are housed inside a pill-shaped cutout while the LED flash unit is on the outside. Both the Pro models come with a temperature sensor that debuted on last year’s Pixel 8 Pro. 

The main difference between the Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL is in the display department. The former comes with a 6.34-inch screen bearing an FHD+ resolution and a 2,050 nits peak brightness. Meanwhile, the XL model features a larger 6.8-inch display with a resolution of 2,992 x 1,344 pixels with a 3,000 nits max brightness. Both phones have an Actua OLED panel and feature a 120Hz LTPO refresh rate. It is also shielded by Gorilla Glass Victus 2. Google has switched to a faster ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.

In the photography department, the Google Pixel 9 Pro and 9 Pro XL sport triple rear cameras. The setup comprises a 50MP main sensor with f/1.68 for better performance in low light, a 48MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and a 48MP periscope telephoto unit with 5x optical zoom. Both phones have a 42MP selfie snapper on the front. Software-wise, the smartphones are eligible for seven years of OS updates and ship with Android 14. They are compatible with Gemini AI and are loaded with features like Circle to Search, Pixel Screenshots, Reimagine etc. There’s also Emergency SOS onboard and an ultrawide-band chip.

The Google Pixel 9 Pro costs $999 / €999, $1,099 /€1,099/Rs 1,09,999, $1,219 /€1,219 and $1,499 / €1,499 for the 128GB, 256GB, 512GB and 1TB variants respectively. Meanwhile, the Pixel 9 Pro XL costs $1,099 /€1,099, $1,199 / €1,199, $1,319 / €1 ,319, and $1,549/ €1,549 for the same aforementioned storage configurations respectively. In India, the Pixel 9 Pro XL’s 256GB and 512GB variants are priced at Rs 1,24,999 and Rs 1,39,999 respectively. The Pixel 9 Pro duo can be availed in Porcelain, Obsidian, Hazel, and Rose shades.
