Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 & Galaxy Watch 4
Over at the Android camp, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 4 are currently the only smartwatches equipped with Wear OS 3.0 in the Indian market. Both the smartwatches are offered in 40mm and 44mm variants featuring 1.2-inch and 1.4-inch OLED displays, respectively.
Talking about the differences, the newer Watch 5 features a larger battery, offers faster charging, and comes equipped with a body temperature sensor. Both smartwatches offer support for Google Play Store, which lets users download third-party apps straight to their smartwatch, and Google Assistant. Both smartwatches feature in-built GPS and eSIM support (LTE) for connectivity, tracking, and navigation needs.
You get access to heart rate monitoring, blood oxygen tracking, sleep quality tracking, stress tracking, ECG, blood pressure monitoring, and body composition on these smartwatches. There are abundant fitness features on both the Watch 4 and Watch 5, including the automatic workout detection feature. It is important to note that several Galaxy Watch functions are exclusive to Samsung Galaxy smartphones, particularly flagship models.
In conclusion, both of these smartwatches offer similar, top-of-the-line functionality. Therefore, if you cannot afford the Galaxy Watch 5, the Galaxy Watch 4 from a year ago is still a fantastic option because it is frequently offered at steep discounts.
The Galaxy Watch 5 starts at Rs 27,999 for the 40mm Bluetooth-only model, and the LTE model has a starting price of Rs 32,999. On the other hand, Galaxy Watch 4 can be found going for around Rs. 10,000 on Flipkart and Amazon. However, Samsung has it officially listed with a starting price tag of Rs 26,999.
Amazfit GTR 4 & Amazfit GTS 4
Amazfit is a brand formed with the collaboration between Xiaomi and Zepp Health. Both the Amazfit GTR 4 and GTS 4 are quite similar to each other, with the only major difference being the rectangular design of the GTS 4 vs the circular design of the GTR 4. The smartwatches work on Zepp OS 2.0, which offers support for mini-apps that can be downloaded to the smartwatches via the companion app. These include mini-games as well as functional apps like Diary, News, split-bill calculator, calorie intake record, and more. Additionally, both watches come with Amazon Alexa built-in.
Talking about some of its health-related features, the devices offer heart rate tracking, sleep mapping, stress monitoring, SpO2 blood oxygen level tracking, menstrual cycle mapping, and more. There are over 150 sports modes available on the watch, and eight of them can be detected automatically. The smartwatches also offer an interval training feature that lets users customize their workouts according to their needs. Both smartwatches also include a built-in GPS for real-time tracking and navigation.
Talking about the specifications, the GTS 4 has a 1.75-inch AMOLED, whereas the GTR 4 comes with a 1.43-inch AMOLED display. The rectangular model averages around 8 days of battery life on a single charge, while the circular model offers up to 14 days of battery life, which is the longest battery life offered on this list. As both the watches are quite similar, they also share the same price tag of Rs 16,999.
Amazfit GTS 2 Mini (new version)
Out of all the smartwatches mentioned on this list, the GTS 2 Mini is the most affordable out of the bunch. And as expected, the watch offers pretty basic features, making it much more of a fitness band with a watch-like design. That being said, it has a bright, buttery smooth 1.55-inch AMOLED display with an Always-On-Display feature.
It has a BioTracker 2 PPG sensor for heart rate tracking, a movement acceleration sensor, a gyroscope sensor, an ambient light sensor, and a geomagnetic sensor. The smartwatch also has a SpO2 sensor for measuring blood oxygen levels. We do get access to a built-in GPS for accurate tracking and navigation.
Additionally, there is Alexa assistant support that allows users to perform some tasks hands-free like setting alarms, reminders, etc. Along with 68 sports modes, the smartwatch offers Personal Activity Intelligence (PAI) feature that shows users how much activity they need to stay healthy. The Amazfit GTS 2 Mini (New Version) comes at a price of Rs. 5,999. Since it’s essentially a fitness tracker, consider it only if you are on a strict budget.
