    Design

The Motorola Edge 40 Pro and Realme GT 3 both have eye-catching designs. The Edge 40 Pro is thinner and slightly smaller than the Realme GT 3, but they have the same weight. Both devices have glass backs and large camera modules, but the Motorola Edge 40 Pro boasts an IP68 certification for better protection against dust and water than the Realme GT 3, which lacks an IP rating. The curved screen on the Edge 40 Pro also adds a touch of elegance. On the other hand, the GT3 comes with an RGB illuminated rectangle on the back which acts as a notification LED and more. But the design winner here is definitely the Motorola flagship.

    Display

The Realme GT 3 sports a larger 6.74-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with a higher 1.5K resolution of 1240 x 2772 pixels and a 144 Hz refresh rate, while the Motorola Edge 40 Pro features a 6.67-inch Full HD+ OLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels and a 165 Hz refresh rate. Both devices support HDR10+ and come with an in-display fingerprint scanner and stereo speakers offering an enhanced audio experience. The display of the Realme GT3 is more interesting because it has a higher resolution, but the Motorola Edge 40 Pro has a higher refresh rate so it is better for gamers. At the end of the day, there are not big differences between these two panels.

    Specs & Software

The Motorola Edge 40 Pro is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, while the Realme GT 3 houses the slightly older Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, which is actually inferior in terms of CPU performance. The Realme GT 3 offers a wider range of memory and storage options, from 8 GB RAM, 128 GB storage to 16 GB RAM, 1 TB storage. The Motorola Edge 40 Pro, on the other hand, offers 12 GB RAM with 256 GB or 512 GB storage options. As you can clearly see, the GT3 has a better memory configuration, while the Motorola comes with a better chipset. Both devices run on Android 13, but the Realme GT 3 comes with Realme UI, a custom user interface, instead of a user interface close to stock Android.

    Camera

The Motorola Edge 40 Pro features a triple camera setup with a 50 MP main sensor supporting optical stabilization, a 50 MP ultrawide camera, and a 12 MP telephoto lens, while the Realme GT 3 has a 50 MP main, 8 MP ultrawide, and 2 MP macro lens setup. The Edge 40 Pro has a more versatile camera configuration, providing better overall performance. You can shoot better ultrawide photos and you even get optical zoom which is absent on the GT3. The Edge 40 Pro also sports a higher resolution 60 MP front-facing camera compared to the 16 MP front camera on the Realme GT 3.

    Battery

Both the Motorola Edge 40 Pro and Realme GT 3 have a 4600 mAh battery, but they differ significantly in their charging capabilities. The Edge 40 Pro supports 125W fast charging and 15W fast wireless charging, while the Realme GT 3 offers a mind-blowing 240W fast charging capability, which is currently one of the fastest in the market. However, the Realme GT 3 lacks wireless charging.

    Price

The Motorola Edge 40 Pro carries a starting price tag of $1110 or €999 in the global market, while the Realme GT 3’s price is yet to be announced. The Realme GT 3 is expected to be more affordable than the Edge 40 Pro, making it an attractive option for those seeking a flagship killer at a lower price point. Which one would you pick?
