OnePlus is changing a lot since the merge with OPPO. Now, it looks like it will be a brand focused on flagship killers instead of top-tier ones. Its latest phone made its debut earlier this month: it is the OnePlus 11 and, as confirmed by the company, it won’t have a Pro variant. Now, we think it is time to compare it with another vanilla version: the iPhone 14 by Apple. Is the latest OnePlus flagship able to compete with the latest affordable iPhone? You will discover it through this comparison between the main specifications of the OnePlus 11 and the Apple iPhone 14, two very different phones but with not so different prices.

Design
The design of the Apple iPhone 14 is definitely more attractive than the one of the OnePlus 11, despite the presence of a notch; and even its build quality is superior. First of all, the Apple iPhone 14 is way more compact because it sports a smaller display. Further, it is made with great materials: a glass back made by Corning and an aluminum frame. It is even waterproof with the IP68 certification allowing you to put it underwater up to 6 meters deep for 30 minutes. It is thinner and lighter, and its design is simply iconic, just like every Apple device. Unfortunately, the OnePlus 11 does not offer any kind of certified protection against water and dust. It is thicker and heavier, and it has bigger dimensions. It comes with a glass back, but its build quality is inferior.
Display
On the paper, the display of the OnePlus 11 is superior to the one found on the Apple iPhone 14. It is an AMOLED panel with a wider diagonal of 6.7 inches showing images with a higher Quad HD+ resolution of 1440 x 3216 pixels. It has an adaptive refresh rate from 1 to 120 Hz thanks to the LTPO 3.0 technology, it supports Dolby Vision and HDR10+, it comes with a peak brightness of 1,300 nits, and it includes an in-display fingerprint reader. The Apple iPhone 14 has a very compact Super Retina XDR OLED panel with a diagonal of 6.1 inches. Unfortunately, the refresh rate is standard, just 60 Hz. The phone has a Full HD+ resolution of 1170 x 2532 pixels, HDR10+ certification, and Dolby Vision support. There is no fingerprint reader, but this phone relies on 3D facial recognition for authentication, thanks to the Face ID technology.
Specs & Software
Even though the OnePlus 11 has a better hardware on the paper, there is not a very important difference between the performances of these phones because the Apple iPhone 14 runs iOS, an operating system optimized much better than Android. The OnePlus 11 is fueled by the octa-core Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile platform built with a 4 nm production process and running at a max frequency of 3.2 GHz. Alongside Qualcomm’s flagship chipset, there are up to 16 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of UFS 4.0 native storage. With the Apple iPhone 14, you get the Apple A15 Bionic: an hexa-core chipset built with a 5 nm production process and running at a max frequency of 3.23 GHz. The SoC is paired with 6 GB of RAM and up to 512 GB of NVMe native storage.
Camera
The cameras found on the OnePlus 11 are superiors to the ones found on the iPhone 14. It has a Hasselblad triple camera composed of a 50 MP Sony IMX890 main sensor, a 32 MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom, and a 48 MP ultrawide shooter. The iPhone 14 has just two cameras on the rear: two 12 MP sensors including an ultrawide one.
Battery
The OnePlus 11 has a much bigger battery, with a 5000 mAh capacity, and it charges quicker with 100W fast charging. But the iPhone is the only one with wireless charging and the MagSafe technology.
Price
You need at least $799/€736 in order to purchase the OnePlus 11 in China, while the iPhone 14 costs the same in the global market. The OnePlus flagship will go global in early february, that is why we still do not know its global price
