Design
Which of these phones has the best design? It mostly depends on your tastes. The OnePlus 11 is more original because it sports a circular camera module not much different from the innovative ones we will soon see on the OPPO Find X6 series. It has a better build quality than the Realme GT 2 Pro as it is built with a glass back and an aluminum frame. According to the company, it also comes with the IP64 certification that makes it dustproof and splash resistant. The Realme GT 2 Pro is made with a special bio-polymer that emulates the touch and feel of the paper, it is splash resistant, according to the Chinese giant, but it does not provide any IP certification.
Display
The displays of these two phones have the same specifications. They are AMOLED panels with a Quad HD+ resolution of 1400 x 3216 pixels, as well as an adaptive refresh rate from 1 to 120 Hz, HDR10+ certification, a diagonal of 6.7 inches, and in-display fingerprint readers. They are flat panels with the same image quality and they are paired with great stereo speakers to enhance the multimedia experience.
Specs & Software
Under the hood, both smartphones are powered by a Qualcomm chipset, but the OnePlus 11 has a more advanced Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, while the Realme GT 2 Pro has an older Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is an octa-core chipset built with a 4 nm production process and running at a max frequency of 3.2 GHz thanks to the Cortex X3 CPU. Further, the OnePlus flagship offers more RAM: up to 16 GB instead of just 12 GB. Both devices run on Android 13 with their respective custom user interfaces: OxygenOS for the OnePlus 11 and Realme UI for the Realme GT 2 Pro. But despite the names of the user interfaces being different, they are almost the same because they are based on OPPO’s ColorOS 13.
Camera
In terms of camera, the OnePlus 11 has a triple-camera setup on the rear consisting of a 50 MP main camera, a 32 MP telephoto lens, and a 48 MP ultrawide shooter. The Realme GT 2 Pro, on the other hand, has a triple camera setup with a 50 MP main camera, a 50 MP ultrawide camera, and a 3 MP macro camera. The OnePlus 11 is definitely better and it also adds a few Hasselblad optimization. But the Realme GT 2 Pro has a better front camera with a 32 MP resolution instead of 16 MP.
Battery
Both devices have 5000 mAh batteries, but the OnePlus 11 has faster charging capabilities with 100W fast charging compared to the 67W fast charging on the Realme GT 2 Pro. The OnePlus 11 should also last a bit longer because it has a chipset with lower energy consumption.
Price
The starting price of the OnePlus 11 is $699 / €849 globally, while the Realme GT 2 Pro can easily be found for less than €600 / $642 thanks to online street prices. At the end of the day, both the OnePlus 11 and the Realme GT 2 Pro are excellent devices in their own right. The OnePlus 11 offers a better camera and faster charging, while the Realme GT 2 Pro is more budget-friendly. Ultimately, the choice between the two devices comes down to what you prioritize in a smartphone.
