Design
Which of these phones has the best design? It is mostly a matter of taste, but if you are asking which one has the best build quality, then the answer is Xiaomi 13. It is built with a glass back and an aluminum frame and it is waterproof with the IP68 certification. But, the most important thing, it is a compact flagship, unlike its rival. And it is very hard to find compact flagships in 2023, especially if you need one with a good battery. The OnePlus 11 is not waterproof, but it is the first OnePlus phone with an IP certification: it has the IP64 certification making it dustproof and splashproof. It is built with a glass back and an aluminum frame, but its dimensions are way bigger than the Xiaomi flagship, due to the presence of a wider display.
Display
Talking about the displays, the OnePlus 11 wins the comparison without any doubt. It has an AMOLED panel comparable to the ones found on the best top-tier flagships of 2022. The display has a diagonal of 6.7 inches, a Quad HD+ resolution of 1440 x 3216 pixels, an adaptive refresh rate from 1 to 120 Hz, one billion colors, Dolby Vision support, HDR10+ certification, a peak brightness of 1,300 nits, and an in-display fingerprint reader. The Xiaomi 13 has a compact OLED display with a diagonal of 6.36 inches, a Full HD+ resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels, a 120 Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision support, HDR10+ certification, a peak brightness of 1,900 nits, and an in-display fingerprint reader.
Specs & Software
The OnePlus 11 and the Xiaomi 13 are powered by the same processor, currently the best mobile platform by Qualcomm. We are obviously talking about the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset built with a 4 nm production process. It is an SoC with an octa-core architecture composed of a Cortex X3 performance core running at a max frequency of 3.2 GHz, two Cortex A715 cores running at 2.8 GHz, two Cortex A710 cores running at 2.8 GHz, three Cortex A510 energy cores running at 2 GHz, and an Adreno 740 GPU. What differs is the RAM amount, at least for the most powerful configurations: the Xiaomi 13 has just 12 GB of RAM (and 512 GB of native storage UFS 4.0), while the OnePlus 11 reaches 16 GB (and 256 GB of UFS 4.0 internal storage). Both phones run Android 13 with a customized user interface on top.
Camera
The OnePlus 11 has a superior camera setup on the rear side. It is composed of a 50 MP main camera with OIS, a 32 MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom, and a 48 MP ultrawide shooter. With the Xiaomi 13, you get a comparable 50 MP main camera but inferior secondary sensors: a 10 MP telephoto lens with 3.2x optical zoom and a 12 MP ultrawide sensor. On the other hand, the Xiaomi 13 has a better selfie snapper, with a resolution of 32 MP.
Battery
The OnePlus 11 has a bigger battery and it should be able to last more on a single charge in a lot of scenarios. It also charges faster thanks to 100W fast charging, but unlike the Xiaomi 13, it lacks wireless charging.
Price
The OnePlus 11 starts from $699 / €849 globally, while the Xiaomi 13’s global price is yet to be announced. Which one would you pick?
