OPPO Find N2 vs OPPO Find N: Specs Comparison

    33

At the end of last year, exactly one year after the previous model, OPPO released its new foldable phone Find N2. It is its second ever horizontal foldable phone and it makes room for several improvements if compared to the previous generation. On the other hand, the OPPO Find N is still available to purchase with very interesting street prices because it is already one year old. Well, after this premise, the question is natural: does the new model offer enough improvements to let you spend more or you should save some money and go for the older model because the differences are marginal? You will find it out after reading this comparison between the main specifications of the OPPO Find N2 and the predecessor OPPO Find N.

    Design

As you probably expected, the OPPO Find N2 and the OPPO Find N come with the same horizontal form factor: a foldable display placed internally is able to transform the phone into a tablet, but there is also an external display thanks to which you can use it like a normal phone. However, there are a few improvements in the design which make the new Find N2 more beautiful and durable than its predecessor. The hinge has been improved and the new phone has a more elegant camera module. Further, the Find N2 is thinner, even though the battery capacity and the dimensions of the displays remain more or less the same. Last but not least, the new model comes with stylus support.

    Display

The internal displays of these phones are exactly the same, nothing changed. We are talking about a foldable AMOLED phone with a diagonal of 7.1 inches, a 2K+ resolution of 1792 x 1920 pixels, an adaptive refresh rate from 1 to 120 Hz, HDR10+ certification, and a very high peak brightness making it clearly readable even outdoor. Instead, the external display changes slightly. With the OPPO Find N2, you get a slightly wider screen with a slightly higher resolution and higher refresh rate: an AMOLED panel with a diagonal of 5.54 inches, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and a resolution of 1080 x 2120 pixels (Full HD+) instead of an AMOLED display with a 5.49-inch diagonal and a resolution of 988 x 1972 pixels (less than Full HD+).

    Specs & Software

The OPPO Find N2 brings an improved hardware department, especially thanks to the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 mobile platform by Qualcomm. It is the best Qualcomm chipset of 2022, it is built with a 4 nm production process and it has an octa-core architecture composed of a Cortex X2 CPU running at a max frequency of 3 GHz, three Cortex A710 cores running at 2.75 GHz, four Cortex A510 cores running at 2 GHz, and an Adreno 730 GPU. It also features a higher quantity of RAM: up to 16 GB, while the Find N stops at 12 GB paired with a Snapdragon 888 chipset. Last but not least, the software: the new model runs Android 13 out of the box and it will get longer software support, while the older one ships with Android 12.

    Camera

Another important improvement of the OPPO Find N2 is definitely the camera setup. First of all, it has a better main camera: a Sony IMX890 shooter with OIS and Hasselblad optimizations. Further, it has better secondary sensors: a 32 MP telephoto lens with 2x optical zoom and a 48 MP ultrawide camera. The Find N has a Sony MX766 main camera with a 50 MP resolution and OIS, a 13 MP telephoto sensor with 2x optical zoom, and a 16 MP ultrawide lens. The selfie cameras remain the same: two 32 MP snappers.

    Battery

The battery capacity of these two phones is almost the same: the OPPO Find N2 has a 4520 mAh battery, while the Find N stops at 4500 mAh. So the battery life does not change too much. But the new model charges quicker thanks to 67W fast charging (instead of just 33W).

    Price

The starting price of the OPPO Find N2 roughly translates into $1305/€1200 in China, while Find N started from $1164/€1070, but it is currently available at way more affordable street prices. Which one would you choose?
