    Design

    If you are looking for the best design with premium materials, then you should opt for the Redmi Note 12 Discovery Edition. It is equipped with a glass back and an aluminum frame, and it has the IP53 certification making it dust resistant and splash resistant. It has better materials than its rival as the Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition is built with plastic instead of glass and aluminum. But, on the other hand, the Speed Edition has a thinner and lighter design. Its thickness is just 7.9 mm, while the weight is 181 grams, even though it sports a bigger battery.     The displays of these two phones are exactly the same. We are talking about a very good OLED panel able to show up to one billion colors: it is not at the same level as flagship phones, but it is a great display. First of all, it has a better processor: the Snapdragon 778G mobile platform by Qualcomm, built with a 6 nm production process. This chipset has an octa-core architecture composed of a Cortex A78 CPU running at a max frequency of 2.4 GHz, three Cortex A78 cores running at 2.2 GHz, four Cortex A55 cores running at 1.9 GHz, and an Adreno 642L GPU. Alongside the chipset, there are up to 12 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of UFS 2.2 native storage. The MediaTek Dimensity 1080 chipset found on the Redmi Note 12 Discovery Edition is almost at the same level as the Snapdragon 778G by Qualcomm, but it is slightly inferior. Further, this phone has just 8 GB of RAM. Last but not least, the Discovery Edition ships with Android 12, while the Speed Edition has Android 13 and MIUI 14 out of the box.

    Camera

    If you are searching for the best camera setup, then you should opt for the Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition without thinking twice. The only difference is the main camera: a 200 MP Samsung ISOCELL sensor with OIS. The Redmi Note 12 Discovery Edition has an inferior 108 MP main camera without OIS.

    Battery

    The Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition has a bigger battery with a capacity of 5000 mAh and it lasts longer on a single charge. But the Redmi Note 12 Discovery Edition with its 4300 mAh battery has a way faster charging tech, with a power of 210W: one of the fastest technologies out there.
