It runs on LightOS, a custom stripped-down version of Android built specifically to block social media, web browsers, and infinite-scroll apps. It’s available globally across Europe, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, and select Asian territories, including India. A few regional prices include £39.99 (UK) and ₹2,599 (India).
In India, the phone comes with a built-in app for secure UPI transactions, which is a feature many users would otherwise miss.
The HMD Touch 4G is for those who want to stay away from distractions but still want a few smart, essential features. It’s based on RTOS Touch, a custom, lightweight real-time operating system designed for compact hybrid devices.
The Cloud Phone Service provides access to YouTube, cricket results, news, weather, and more through cloud apps, while the Express Chat App allows communication with friends and family on Android or iOS via text, voice, or even video call. So it utilizes 4G only to keep you connected, not distracted.
The phone packs a 3.2-inch QVGA touchscreen protected by 2.5D cover glass, a 1,950mAh battery, 0.3MP selfie, 2MP main camera, and a rear LED flash. It relies on the Unisoc T127 processor, 128MB of internal storage, and 64MB of RAM, and supports microSD cards of up to 32GB.
The HMD Touch 4G is currently available in India for ₹4,199, with a rollout to European markets such as the UK, Germany, and France expected at a later date.
Edifier today launched a new active near-field Hi-Fi speaker in China called the Airpulse A80V. It’s an upgrade over the original A80, and while it keeps the things people liked about that model, Edifier has reworked the mid-bass driver for fuller, more rounded low-end output. The company has also added Savitech Hi-Fi USB audio decoding and a 3.5mm AUX input, so you get more ways to plug things in.
On the power side, the A80V pushes out 10W+10W to the left and right tweeters and 40W+40W to the left and right mid-bass drivers, all with limited distortion.
It has a horn-loaded aluminum ribbon tweeter that stretches smoothly up to 40kHz, and because the ribbon design combines the diaphragm and voice coil into one piece, you get fast transient response and low phase distortion.
The mid-bass unit is 4.5 inches with an all-cast aluminum bracket, a hardened aluminum alloy diaphragm, and a 30mm voice coil.
Inside, Edifier is using two Texas Instruments TAS5754M Class D amplifiers to handle the amplification, one per driver type, and both can process digital signals at sampling rates up to 192kHz.
For inputs, you’re getting RCA line-in and 3.5mm AUX (through a Texas Instruments PCM1802 ADC that supports up to 96kHz/24-bit), plus Toslink optical and USB-C digital inputs that go up to 216kHz sampling and can handle 192kHz/24-bit audio. Connectivity includes Bluetooth 5.1, which supports courtesy of a Qualcomm QCC3031 chip with aptX HD support, so wireless listening shouldn’t feel like a downgrade from wired.
Build and specs
Design-wise, the cabinet is built from 18mm MDF lined with wave-shaped sound-absorbing cotton to cut down on resonance and stray standing waves. There’s also a SUB OUT port if you want to add a subwoofer for bigger rooms.
The speaker is rated between 52Hz-20kHz frequency response, with a signal-to-noise ratio of at least 90dB(A) on both channels. Each pair weighs 9.3kg, and the cabinets measure 140 x 255 x 238mm.

The Edifier Airpulse A80V is already available for purchase in China for 2,879 yuan (about $402). There’s no word on its global availability yet.
A new Chromebook has arrived for users looking for a simple, cloud-first laptop experience. Asus has unveiled the Chromebook CX15 in India, bringing Google AI-powered features, ChromeOS, and a lightweight design to students, young professionals, and first-time laptop buyers. The launch also marks Asus first Chromebook rollout through offline retail stores in the country.

The Chromebook is powered by the Intel Processor N50, paired with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB of eMMC storage. ASUS says the hardware is designed for web browsing, online classes, document editing, video calls, and other cloud-based workloads.
Weighing 1.59kg, the Chromebook CX15 meets MIL-STD-810H military-grade durability standards and comes in a Pure Grey finish inspired by traditional Japanese washi paper. Asus claims the laptop can deliver up to 12.5 hours of battery life on a single charge and bundles a 45W USB Type-C charger in the box. Security features include the Titan C security chip, automatic ChromeOS security updates, and a physical webcam privacy shutter.
The Asus Chromebook CX15 is priced at Rs. 47,990 (~$500) and is now available through ASUS Exclusive Stores, ROG Stores, the ASUS eShop, Reliance Digital, and other authorized retail partners across India.
Bambu Lab is officially establishing its presence in India with the launch of a new desktop 3D printer aimed at creators, educators, designers, and small businesses. The company has introduced the A2L, its largest open-bed desktop 3D printer so far, while reinforcing its long-term commitment to one of the world’s fastest-growing maker communities.

Although Bambu Lab is formally introducing its brand in India now, its products have already been available in the country through authorized channel partners for nearly two years. The A2L, which went on sale in India earlier this week, is designed for users who need more space than conventional desktop 3D printers can provide. It features a 330 × 320 × 325 mm build volume, delivering 105 percent more printable space than standard 256 mm-class machines. The larger print area allows users to create bigger models, print multiple parts simultaneously, and complete projects without splitting them into separate sections.
The printer is also equipped with several technologies designed to improve print quality and reliability. Adaptive Vibration Compensation automatically adjusts performance based on toolhead movement and changing bed loads, while built-in granular dampers reduce vibration during high-speed printing. A closed-loop PMSM servo extruder continuously monitors filament flow to detect feeding issues before they affect print quality. Additional monitoring systems include nozzle clog detection, nozzle clumping detection, tangled spool detection, and filament run-out detection. Despite its larger footprint, the A2L operates at less than 49 dB in Silent Mode.
Beyond 3D printing, the A2L supports optional Blade Cutting and Pen Drawing modules, allowing users to cut materials such as leather, fabric, and stickers or convert the machine into a precision drawing tool. It also supports multiple Automatic Material System units for multi-color printing with intelligent filament management. The printer integrates with Bambu Studio, the MakerWorld model library, and the Bambu Handy mobile app for remote monitoring and control.
The Bambu Lab A2L is priced at Rs. 48,999 (~$515), while the A2L Combo costs Rs. 65,999 (~$690) in India through the company’s authorized channel partners.
OnePlus has confirmed that the next major OS upgrade for its devices will come with the ColorOS 17 skin instead of OxygenOS 17. The rollout is expected to begin in the coming weeks, but unfortunately, the update won’t reach many OnePlus devices.
The OxygenOS 16 update, based on Android 16, was the last major upgrade for many OnePlus devices, and therefore, they aren’t eligible for future major upgrades, including ColorOS 17. The Xiaomi Pad 9 received 3C certification in China a couple of weeks ago. Following up, two new Xiaomi tablets have now made their way into China’s MIIT database.
The models listed are 2612CRPFFC and M367FC, and if a Weibo post is to go by, they are the Xiaomi Pad 9 Pro and Pad 8S Pro, respectively.
The certification shows the Pad 9 Pro supports up to 67W in charging. In comparison, the Pad 9 caps out at a maximum of 45W.
The M367FC, meanwhile, supports up to 120W charging, and that lines it up with everything we’ve likely already heard about the Xiaomi Pad 8S Pro. According to the previous report, the tablet will feature a 12.5-inch 3.2K LCD screen, a 12,000mAh battery, a 32MP front camera, and a 50MP main camera paired with a 2MP secondary sensor.
Meanwhile, a separate leak shows the parts of the Pad 8S Pro About screen, and it’s shown running the company’s in-house XRING O3 chipset. It also confirms the above-mentioned specs, and the tablet will run on HyperOS 4 based on Android 17.

As for the standard Pad 9, the tablet is tipped with a Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chip, the same 45W charging speed as the outgoing Pad 8, and a battery bump to 9,720mAh.
Nothing here confirms a launch date, but clearing MIIT is usually one of the last regulatory steps before a device goes on sale in China. Given how close together these certifications are landing, you can probably expect Xiaomi to talk about both tablets alongside its next flagship phone launch rather than as a standalone event. Oppo has officially raised the bar for battery capacity in mid-range smartphones with the launch of the Oppo A7 Pro Max 5G in China. Debuting as the brand’s first phone to sport a massive 10,000mAh Glacier Battery, Oppo has timed this launch right before Xiaomi unveils its highly anticipated competitor, the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G.
While Redmi prepares for the official launch in China and global markets, the specifications of the global edition of the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max have already leaked via official-looking promo material. The Chinese variant of the Note 17 Pro Max is expected to share identical core specifications with its global counterpart, barring a potentially larger battery capacity for the Chinese market.

Huawei’s Mate 90 series has previously been tipped to launch in September, separate from the Mate XT2 tri-fold. A new Weibo leak has now revealed the key specs of the Huawei Mate 90 Pro Max.
The leak confirms the Mate 90 Pro Max will run on the Kirin 9050 Pro based on the “logical folding” architecture that Huawei teased a while ago. Instead of packing more transistors into a smaller area the traditional way, Huawei is stacking circuits into a 3D structure, effectively trading spatial miniaturization for what it calls time miniaturization.
Compared to the Kirin 9030 Pro in last year’s Mate 80 series, transistor density has reportedly increased by 53.5%, chip area shrunk by 37.5%, and power consumption at matching performance drops by 41%. This should lead to better performance and efficiency.

On the display side, the maker is reportedly using a 6.9-inch dual-layer OLED panel at 1.5K resolution. It will have LTPO for adaptive refresh rates and large rounded corners on a flat screen.
The leak says the battery capacity will range from 6800mAh to 7000mAh, paired with 100W fast charging and WiFi 7 support. The software side will be handled by the new HarmonyOS 7, which brings a new assistant called Xiaoyi along with added gaming features and a gaming console layer built into the OS that Huawei says will keep getting updates over time.
On cameras, the rear setup could include a 200MP main sensor, a 40MP ultra-wide camera, a 50MP dual-telephoto pair, and a third-generation red maple color camera, with a 15MP ultra-wide front camera and 3D face recognition for unlocking.
Design-wise, it’s expected to feature a new square camera module. However, the new Mate may not have an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner this generation either, as it’s said to feature a side-mounted biometric like the Mate 80 series.
Huawei hasn’t confirmed a launch date for the Mate 90 series yet; instead, it’s holding a launch event tomorrow for new Mate PCs and the GT 7 smartwatch.
