RED MAGIC has launched its latest flagship gaming phones, the RED MAGIC 11 Pro and 11 Pro+, in China. Both devices run on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and have scored 4.35 million points on AnTuTu 11. They come with up to 24GB of LPDDR5T RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.1 PRO storage.

Display and Performance

The phones feature a 6.85-inch 1.5K BOE X10 OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, 10-bit color depth, and 100% DCI-P3 color gamut. With a peak brightness of 2000 nits, DC dimming, and 2592Hz PWM dimming, the display promises smooth, eye-safe visuals even during extended sessions. The touch sampling rate peaks at 960Hz, providing instant response for competitive gameplay.

Both devices come equipped with up to 24GB of LPDDR5T RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.1 PRO storage, ensuring seamless multitasking and rapid data access. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip brings a 20% performance boost and up to 35% better power efficiency compared to the previous generation, ensuring faster load times and better battery endurance.

Gaming and Thermal Innovation

The Ultra Graphics Engine 3.0 and RedCore R4 chip enhance gaming performance by upscaling supported titles to 2K resolution at 144Hz. The China variant also includes a built-in PC emulator, letting users run desktop-level software on their phone.

Thermal management sees a major leap with RED MAGIC’s new dual-track cooling system, which combines active liquid and air cooling. Instead of a passive vapor chamber, it uses a ceramic micropump that circulates coolant through laser-cut microchannels. The fluorinated coolant operates between –40°C to 70°C, maintaining stability even under intense load. The company says the system underwent thousands of design iterations and tens of thousands of drop tests to ensure leak-proof durability.

For imaging, the RED MAGIC 11 series houses a 50MP primary sensor (1/1.55”, f/1.88, OIS), a 50MP ultra-wide camera with a 120° field of view, and a 16MP under-display front camera by OmniVision. The phones support 8K at 60Hz and 4K at 144Hz video recording.

The RED MAGIC 11 Pro is backed by an 8000mAh battery with 80W fast charging, while the 11 Pro+ offers a 7500mAh battery with 120W wired and 80W wireless charging.

The RED MAGIC 11 Pro series starts at 4,999 yuan (approx. USD 701) and goes up to 9,899 yuan (approx. USD 1,389) for the Golden Saga Edition. Both models are available now in China, with the global launch scheduled for November 7.

Asus is leveling up its keyboard game with the new ROG Azoth 96 HE — a magnetic, feature-packed upgrade designed to please both gamers and heavy typists. Building on the Azoth’s reputation for premium feel and performance, this latest version adds a full numpad, swaps out traditional switches for Hall Effect sensors, and keeps that beloved OLED screen intact. The result looks like Asus’s most ambitious keyboard yet, one that aims to balance competitive responsiveness with all-day usability.

The ROG Azoth 96 HE expands the lineup beyond the original 75% model that launched in 2023 at $250 (and now sells for around $155 on Amazon). Instead of the ROG NX mechanical switches, this version introduces ROG HFX V2 magnetic switches—borrowed from the ROG Falcata—to deliver pinpoint accuracy and customizable actuation.

Impressively, the 8,000Hz polling rate works in both wired and wireless modes, ensuring near-zero latency. Under the hood, Asus is continuing its focus on sound and feel. Apple’s iPhone Fold reportedly delayed to 2027

The foldable phone trend has been thriving for years without Apple in the mix, but fans hoping for the company’s long-awaited entry might have to wait a little longer. Fresh reports suggest that Apple’s first foldable iPhone could be pushed back to 2027, with key engineering hurdles still being ironed out behind the scenes.

According to a research note from Japan’s Mizuho Securities, cited by Korean outlet The Elec, Apple is still refining the hinge and display structure for its foldable model—two of the most complex parts of any foldable device. The company was reportedly targeting mass production in the third quarter of 2026 to coincide with the iPhone 18 launch, but that timeline now appears unlikely. If the new schedule holds, the device could instead debut alongside the rumored iPhone 18e in spring 2027.

Mizuho has also trimmed its panel production forecast, dropping from an expected 13 million units to around 9 million. Even in an optimistic case, initial shipments could be limited to 5–7 million units. The total production plan sits somewhere between 10 and 15 million units, depending on final pricing and durability. The foldable is expected to cost well above $2,000 (the price tag for the Z Fold7), with Samsung Display remaining the exclusive OLED panel supplier.

Early details hint at a premium setup: a 7.8-inch inner LTPO display with Color filter on Encapsulation (CoE) for better brightness and thinner panels, paired with a 5.5-inch outer screen for quick access and daily use.

For now, Apple’s methodical approach suggests it’s not rushing into the foldable race. Whether that patience pays off—or simply gives rivals like Samsung and Honor more time to expand their lead—remains to be seen.

Samsung is the best in the business when it comes to software updates. The brand is highly praised for offering long-term software updates, and that’s true even for budget phones. Still, even the most generous update policies eventually reach their conclusion — and that time has come for a few of Samsung’s devices.

As spotted by Sammobile, the company has removed four Galaxy smartphones from the official support list: Galaxy A52s, Galaxy A03s, Galaxy M32 5G, and Galaxy F42 5G. This means these Galaxy phones won’t receive major One UI upgrades as well as security patches. In fact, they stopped receiving OS updates long ago, and going forward, no new security updates will be provided to them.

There is a possibility that the Vivo Y500 Pro could be based on the Vivo V60e, which recently debuted with the Samsung HP5 200-megapixel main camera.

According to the report, the Redmi Note 15 series will launch in India by early January 2026. It also states that the variants heading to India will be slightly different from their Chinese versions, which debuted in August in China.

Like their Chinese editions, the Indian versions of the Redmi Note 15, Note 15 Pro, and Note 15 Pro+ are said to be powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, Dimensity 7400-Ultra, and Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 chipsets, respectively. There is a possibility that the global/Indian variants will have different cameras compared to their Chinese counterparts.

Meanwhile, the global editions of the Redmi Note 15 series have been gradually receiving certifications in different markets. The Note 15 5G and Note 15 Pro, with model numbers 25098RA98G and 25080RABDG, respectively, have been approved by certification platforms in Singapore and Thailand.

The Pro model has also been approved by Indonesia’s SDPPI and the UAE’s TDRA. The Note 15 Pro+, which has the model number 2410ERA8BG, has also been spotted at the SDPPI certification. The certifications indicate that the Note 15 series will be heading to multiple markets, with the official launch for other regions also expected in January 2026.

Huawei announces Nova 14 Vitality Edition in China with 5500mAh battery, AMOLED screen

Alongside the Nova Flip S, Huawei today unveiled the Nova 14 Vitality Edition in China. It joins as the fifth member in the Nova 14 series, sitting just above the Nova 14i launched earlier this month. Let’s walk through the specs and features here.

The phone is built around a 6.7-inch flat OLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Huawei says the panel can hit up to 1,100 nits of brightness. 

The bezels are slim, and the design keeps things simple with a frosted glass finish on the white and blue models, while the black version opts for a plain back. The phone measures 7.15mm thick and weighs 191 grams.

Under the hood, the device runs HarmonyOS 5.1 and is available in 256GB and 512GB storage options, though Huawei hasn’t disclosed which chipset powers it.

On the back, there’s a 50MP RYYB main camera (1/1.56″) with OIS, joined by an 8MP ultra-wide lens. The front houses another 50MP sensor (1/2.5″) for selfies and video calls.

The Nova 14 Vitality Edition packs a 5,500mAh battery with support for 66W fast charging, which should comfortably get through a day and refill quickly. Other features include IP65 dust and water resistance, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, an IR blaster, and HarmonyOS 5.1 out of the box.

OPPO Find X9 Series Hands-on: The Art of Balance

It is found that OPPO’s product managers have recently become very fond of one particular word in public or on social media: balance. Earlier this year, after Gizmochina Review finished the in-depth reviews of the Xiaomi, vivo, and OPPO’s Ultra models, I found that the OPPO Find X8 Ultra was the most well-balanced phone among them, with the fewest shortcomings. And now, the new Find X9 series appears to carry on this ‘strength’.

The camera specs of these two phones are clearly more powerful than those of the Xiaomi 17 series, and their batteries are also much larger than those of the vivo X300 series. Design

In 2025, phone brands probably have realized one thing over the flagship category: consumers are already tired of identical designs. That’s why the shapes of recent phones are more distinctive. Some use a unibody aluminum alloy body, while others add a secondary screen on the back. As for the Find X9, well… it seems to have gone back to the very beginning, placing the camera module at the top-left corner, stable and neat. No doubt, you can picture many past smartphones in your mind. Does this design look familiar to you? Yes, that’s right — particularly, it’s the same design as the OnePlus 13s. The difference is that the Find X9 series has a larger and more refined camera module.

If you look closely, the Find X9 standard version uses a ring-shaped flash, while the Pro version has to move the flash out of the island, because the periscope telephoto lens occupies the position where the flash should be. There’s another difference between the standard and the Pro: the camera control button on the Pro’s shoulder. It’s located quite close to the middle, which means it’s not an easy position to hold firmly and touch, unless you’ve got a big enough hand…right hand.

Overall, the Find X9 series has seen significant changes in appearance, especially this rouge (dark pink) version, which helps it stand out among all the new phones and become one of the most eye-catching new releases.

Display

Like most Chinese smartphones, one of the main distinctions between the standard version and the Pro version lies in their size. The standard version measures around 6.6 inches, slightly larger than the Xiaomi 17 and the vivo X300, and it has been upgraded to ultrasonic fingerprint recognition.

The Pro version is 6.78 inches, but this time it switches to a flat display instead of the previous quad-curved one.

Both phones have 1.15mm bezels, so the larger Pro looks like it has narrower edges. In terms of thickness, both models are similar to the previous generation, though the X9 series is slightly heavier. They support IP68 and IP69 dust&water resistance respectively. The only flaw that stands out is that the USB-C port on the standard version is still USB 2.0, which makes it the slowest in data transfer among recently released flagship phones.

Camera

Both phones share the same ultra-wide-angle camera and include a 2MP multispectral sensor. The main difference in their camera systems lies in the main and telephoto cameras. The standard version uses a smaller main sensor and an LYT-600 telephoto cam, which does not support macro function. The Pro version, on the other hand, uses an LYT-828 main sensor and a brand-new 200MP Samsung HP5 telephoto camera, officially certified by Hasselblad.

And this time, OPPO has also improved the quality of Live Photos — now, photos are captured at 50MP by default, instead of 12MP. Video zoom and exposure have also been optimized. And if you want to attach an external telephoto lens, that’s no problem either — OPPO has released a dedicated external telephoto lens kit.

From the looks of it, OPPO has invested a lot in the Find X9 series’ camera system, and I’m really looking forward to seeing how it performs in the upcoming review.

SoC & Battery

The Find X9 series is powered by the Dimensity 9500, MediaTek’s latest top-tier processor, so there’s no need to worry about performance.

Both models now feature much larger batteries, matching the Xiaomi 17 series, and exceeding the vivo X300 series by about 1,000mAh. The charging system supports 80W wired charging and 50W wireless charging. Overall, the Find X9 series has the fewest shortcomings among all the newly released flagship phones.

I’ve summarized the specifications of the latest three flagship phones, and it’s easy to see that the Find X9 series is currently the most well-balanced one. The pricing also indicates that OPPO is ready to compete head-to-head with the other two brands.

iPhone 18 Pro models could feature a variable aperture camera for better low-light shots

Apple might finally bring a major camera upgrade to the iPhone 18 Pro lineup — a variable aperture lens. According to a new report from Korea’s ETNews, both the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are expected to include the feature, allowing the main camera to physically adjust how much light it lets in.

Unlike the fixed f/1.78 aperture used on the iPhone 14 Pro through iPhone 17 Pro models, this setup can open wider in dim environments for brighter, cleaner photos, or narrow down in daylight to prevent overexposure. It also gives users more control over depth of field — useful for portraits with strong background blur or sharper landscape shots with everything in focus.

Apple is reportedly working with two Chinese companies – Luxshare ICT and Sunny Optical – for the actuator that controls the aperture’s movement. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo previously hinted at this collaboration back in late 2024, lending more weight to today’s report.

While Samsung experimented with variable apertures years ago on the Galaxy S9 and S10, the company dropped the feature after 2020 due to its higher cost and design complexity. With the technological advancements achieved by Apple’s contract manufacturers in recent years, the variable aperture mechanism on the iPhone 18 Pro models is expected to be both slimmer and more cost-efficient. That said, the addition could still give Apple reason to raise prices. The iPhone 17 Pro starts at $1,099, and the iPhone 18 Pro might go a bit higher. We’ll know more as development progresses.

The new camera system is expected to debut in fall 2026 alongside the iPhone Air 2 and Apple’s first foldable iPhone. If the leaks hold true, this could be one of Apple’s most significant leaps in mobile photography in years, blending hardware finesse with its already-strong computational processing.

The iPhone 18 Pro models are also rumored to drop the Dynamic Island in favor of an under-display Face ID system.

Huawei today officially unveiled the Nova Flip S in China. The clamshell foldable is the sequel to the original Nova Flip and, more importantly, it comes with a much lower price tag.

The Nova series has long been Huawei’s more affordable lineup, but the first Nova Flip launched at a steep 5,288 yuan (~$740) price tag. The Nova Flip S starts at just 3,488 yuan (~$490), making it the most affordable foldable from Huawei in China. 

Huawei Nova Flip S Specifications 

Design-wise, the Nova Flip S largely mirrors its predecessor. It maintains the same 6.9mm thickness, 195-gram weight, and cover design. Huawei has added two new color options, Sky Blue and Feather Sand Black, alongside the existing New Green, Zero White, Sakura Pink, and Star Black finishes.

The external display remains a 2.14-inch square screen with a 480×480 resolution, supporting fun themes like cute pets, DIY wallpapers, and interactive call displays. 

You can also pin apps to the outer screen for quick access, like for checking the weather, viewing your schedule, or making QR code payments. The live window feature can show real-time updates like flights or food deliveries.

Inside, the 6.9-inch main screen offers a 1136×2698 resolution and a 1–120Hz LTPO adaptive refresh rate. It uses a water drop hinge system for minimal crease visibility and is certified for 1.2 million folds by Swiss SGS.

Under the hood, the Nova Flip S packs a 4,400mAh battery with 66W wired fast charging, side-mounted fingerprint recognition, and life waterproof certification for daily splashes.

The foldables’ camera setup includes a 50-megapixel main sensor (f/1.9) and an 8-megapixel ultra-wide (f/2.2) on the back. The front has a 32MP sensor and both support 4K video recording with AIS stabilization. 

The device runs HarmonyOS 5.1, but Huawei has not released the chip details. 

Huawei is offering the Nova Flip S in two storage variants: 256GB for 3,488 yuan and 512GB for 3,788 yuan.
