Photos show an unreleased Aurora Green Huawei P40 Pro prototype

When it comes to phone development, manufacturers are known to experiment with different designs and colors before settling for the final one. The Huawei P40 Pro is no exception and a leak has now given us a look at a color variant that didn’t make the final cut.

The Huawei P40 Pro launched earlier this year in five color variants – Silver Frost, Blush Gold Deep Sea Blue, Ice White, and Black. These photos show that the phone could have come in Aurora Green too.

Photos of the prototype were posted on Weibo by a user that goes by @秃头普拉斯/Bald plus. The images are also filled with easter eggs from the popular animated movie Frozen which is also where the P40 Pro got its codename, Elsa, from. How many of these easter eggs can you spot?

Huawei P40 Pro Aurora Green Weibo

The Huawei P40 Pro has a 6.58-inch 2640 x 1200 display with a double punch hole for dual front-facing cameras. The display is OLED, curved, and has a 90Hz refresh rate.

Under the hood is a Kirin 990 5G processor paired with 8GB of RAM and UFS 3.0 storage that starts at 128GB and goes up to 512GB. The P40 Pro has quad rear cameras – a 50MP primary camera with OIS, a 12MP telephoto camera with a periscope lens that provides up to 5x optical zoom, a 40MP ultrawide angle camera, and a TOF 3D camera. In front are a 32MP primary camera and an infrared 3D camera for face unlock.

The Huawei P40 Pro flagship packs a 4200mAh battery with support for 40W fast wired charging, 27W fast wireless charging, and reverse wireless charging. It also has an in-display fingerprint scanner, support for storage expansion via Huawei’s proprietary Nano Memory card slot, and an IP68 rating.

At the moment, details of a successor are scarce, no thanks to the current state of Huawei’s chip business.

iPhone 11 vs iPhone XR: Specs Comparison

The whole iPhone 12 lineup finally hitten the shelves after a delay caused by reasons related to the coronavirus pandemic. But if you want one of the new devices released by Apple, you need a high amount of money. However, you can still get a new iPhone at a more affordable price since Apple decided to keep several other models in commerce. Among the most affordable ones, we got the iPhone 11 and the iPhone XR. A lot of people are wondering which one to choose in 2020 to save money while still getting an amazing phone. This comparison between iPhone 11 and iPhone XR will clear your idea by analyzing the differences between their specifications.

Design

The front designs of the iPhone 11 and the iPhone XR are exactly the same. In both cases, you get a notched display with a 6.1-inch diagonal and narrow bezels on three sides. You even get the same materials: glass for the back and 7000 series aluminum for the frame. The rear side is different: the iPhone XR looks cleaner because it does not come with a big camera module and it only sports one single camera sensor and the LED flash. With the iPhone 11, you get a big and square-shaped camera module including two sensors. On the other hand, iPhone 11 offers better water resistance: with its IP68 certification, it is waterproof up to 2 meters deep, while iPhone XR goes up to one meter.

Display

The iPhone 11 and the iPhone XR have exactly the same display: a 6.1-inch panel with a resolution of 828 x 1792 pixels, the True-tone technology, and a wide color gamut. They are both IPS panels, so do not expect those vibrant colors you can get with OLED displays. But we are talking about great IPS panels, two of the best ones out there. So you still get a great image quality. Unlike Android phones, iPhones do not rely on a fingerprint scanner for authentication: iPhone 11 and iPhone XR support Face ID for 3D facial recognition.

Specs & Software

The iPhone 11 has a stronger processor than the iPhone XR: we are talking about the Apple A13 Bionic built at 7 nm+ with a max frequency of 2.65 GHz. It even sports a higher amount of RAM (4 GB against 3 GB). So you get definitely better performances, but the iPhone XR is still a fast and smooth phone with its Apple A12 Bionic and 3 GB of RAM. The iPhone 11 ships with iOS 13 out of the box, while the iPhone XR is born with iOS 12. However, Apple decided to update both the devices to the latest iOS 14. Naturally, more recent phones get longer software support.

Camera

iPhone 11 and iPhone XR are equipped with the same main camera sensor: a 12 MP unit with f/1.8 focal aperture, phase detection autofocus, and OIS, as well as a Quad-LED flash. But the iPhone 11 comes with an additional 12 MP ultrawide sensor, while the iPhone XR lacks secondary sensors on the rear side. This means you can shoot better photos in a lot of scenarios with the iPhone 11. But if you do not need a wide-angle, then the iPhone XR may be enough for you. Besides offering more cameras on the rear side, the iPhone 11 is also equipped with a better front camera sporting a 12 MP resolution (against the 7 MP snapper found on the iPhone XR).

Battery

The iPhone 11 has a bigger battery than the iPhone XR, as well as a more efficient chipset. This means that its battery life is longer. iPhone 11 and iPhone XR support wireless charging, but the former has faster charging speeds if you use the cable. The iPhone 11 supports 18W fast charging, while the iPhone XR stops at 15W.

Price

The iPhone 11 is actually priced at $599/€719 in its base variant, while the XR costs $499/€619. Are those 100 bucks of difference worth the upgrades offered by the iPhone 11? In my opinion, yes. With the iPhone 11, you get better water resistance, a stronger processor, a higher quantity of RAM, an additional camera, and even a slightly bigger battery with faster charging, as well as a more recent native operating system. Unless saving money is your main priority, I believe you should spend $100 more and opt for the iPhone 11.

[Updated: Display Size] OnePlus 9 Pro CAD renders remind us of the Galaxy S20 FE

Update: The display size for the OnePlus 9 Pro is not 6.55-inches but 6.7-inches. The leaker admitted that the original screen size was a mistake. Based on this correction, there should not be a larger model as previously speculated. The original story follows below.

OnePlus fans looking forward to the next flagship phone will be shocked to see that the OnePlus 9 Pro looks very familiar. Renders of the phone which have just been leaked show that OnePlus is gunning for a design (at least on the rear) similar to that of the Galaxy S20 FE from Samsung.

OnePlus 9 Pro

The renders are from none other than Steve Hemmerstoffer a.k.a. OnLeaks via the Voice platform. The images show that the OnePlus 9 Pro will have a curved display with a punch hole at the top left corner of the screen.

The design of the screen might be unchanged from that of the OnePlus 8 Pro but the size is different. According to the leaker, the screen size is 6.55-inches making it smaller than its predecessor. This is quite surprising and has resulted in speculations that OnePlus may launch a bigger model.

On the back is where the OnePlus 9 Pro appears to be a Galaxy S20 FE clone. The camera setup has now been moved to the left just like that of the OnePlus 8T. There are four cameras of different sizes on the back – two of them are large and protrude while the other two small ones and flush with the back. The housing is also home to the LED flash and a microphone. Unlike the Galaxy S20 FE, the OnePlus 9 Pro has a glass back.

Steve says that the design is still at the prototype stage but most of it is set in stone. However, there may still be some changes, most especially with respect to the rear camera design.

The OnePlus 9 Pro has the alert slider and power button on the right while the left is home to the volume rocker. There are two holes at the bottom for the speaker along with the USB-C port and a SIM tray slot.

The source of the leak confirms that the OnePlus 9 Pro will indeed launch in March 2020 as earlier reported. It will come with a Snapdragon 875 processor and run Android 11 out of the box.

realme X7 5G gets India’s BIS certification ahead of 2021 launch

Earlier this month, realme X7 Pro 5G got India’s BIS certification hinting at a launch. Following this, a few days back, realme India CEO Madhav Sheth confirmed that the realme X7 series will launch next year in India. And now, the realme X7 non-Pro variant has been spotted on India’s BIS website.

Realme X7 official renders 5

A realme smartphone, as reported by Root MyGalaxy(via GSMArena) appears on India’s BIS certification website. It has a model number RMX2176 under ‘REALME’. Now, if we recall, a device with the same model number visited TENAA back in August before the realme X7 series launch in China. The device later turned out to be the realme X7 5G.

That said, although Madhav mentioned a 2021 launch, he didn’t exactly give us a time frame. But, the latest listing suggests that the device might break cover very soon in India maybe in January. Besides, after looking at the BIS listing, one would expect that the device is indeed the realme X7 5G for India. But there is a possibility that realme might tweak it a bit.

This is because, if you take the realme 7 5G that recently launched in Europe, it is a realme V5 5G from China but with realme X7’s SoC and different display refresh rate(90Hz vs 120Hz). Hence, it is possible that realme might change something on the Indian variant too to differentiate it more from the ‘Pro’ variant. Anyway, since it’s too early to speculate anything, let’s brush up on the specs of realme X7 5G.

realme X7 5G Specifications

The realme X7 5G that launched in China back in September, features a 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED 120Hz punch-hole display, MediaTek Dimensity 800U SoC, 64MP sensor equipped quad-camera, 32MP selfie shooter, 4,300mAh battery with 65W SuperDart Charging.

Other features include SA/NSA 5G, GPS, Glonass, Galileo, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.1, in-display fingerprint sensor, Superlinear speaker, Hi-Res Audio, 6/8GB LPDDR4x RAM, 128GB UFS 2.1 storage.

The new official leather case for Galaxy Z Fold2 offers complete protection

Samsung has launched a wide variety of mobile products in 2020 so far. Out of all those, the Galaxy Z Fold2 and Galaxy Buds Live are some of the unique devices. The former is the best foldable smartphone in the market, whereas the latter is a one of a kind truly wireless earphone. Now, months after their release, the company has announced official leather cases for them.

Samsung, the world’s largest smartphone brand officially unveiled first-party leather cases for the Galaxy Fold2 and Galaxy Buds Live via a press release (via SamMobile). These cases are priced at KRW 99,000 ($89) and KRW 22,000 ($20) respectively. They are currently limited to South Korea but should make their way to other markets soon.

The leather case offers complete protection for the Galaxy Z Fold2 by covering not only the back like the standard case but also the cover display and the hinge. It comes in two colors namely brown and black, matching the ‘Mystic Bronze’ and ‘Mystic Black’ color variants of the phone respectively.

On the other hand, the official leather case for Galaxy Buds Live only provides protection for the case and it too comes in two colors – gray and navy. But these two colors only look good on the ‘Mystic White’ and ‘Mystic Black’ versions and therefore, ‘Mystic Bronze’ users may want o check some other cases.

Leaker reveals Vivo V20 Pro possible Indian launch date

The Vivo V20 series includes the Vivo V20, Vivo V20 SE, and the Vivo V20 Pro. The standard and SE models have already been announced in India while the Pro model is expected to launch at the end of this month according to the CEO of Vivo India. Now, a leaker has revealed the possible launch date for the 5G smartphone which made its debut in Thailand in September.

According to the leaker, Sudhanshu Ambhore (@Sudhanshu1414, a source informed him that the Vivo V20 Pro might be announced in India on November 25. That is Tuesday next week, four days from today.

Although he isn’t certain, the date goes in line with the “end of November” date attributed to Jerome Chen, the Indian head of Vivo. However, it is surprising that Vivo is yet to make an official announcement seeing as the date is close already.

The Vivo V20 Pro has a 6.44-inch FHD+ AMOLED display. Unlike most phones released this year which have a hole punch in their screens, the V20 Pro has a tub-shaped notch that is home to two front-facing cameras. Not only that, but the screen also has a 60Hz refresh rate which is surprising as a high-refresh-rate display is one of the popular trends in the smartphone industry this year.

Powering the phone is a Snapdragon 765G processor and it is paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The triple rear camera setup on the back of the phone includes a 64MP main sensor, a 120° 8MP ultrawide angle camera, and a 2MP mono camera. Up in front are a 44MP main camera and an 8MP 105° superwide angle camera.

The Vivo V20 Pro has stereo speakers, dual SIM support, an in-display fingerprint scanner, and a 4000mAh battery with support for 33W fast wired charging. It runs Funtouch OS based on Android 10.

Earlier this month, it was reported that the phone will have a price tag under INR 30,000 when it launches. That converts to about $405 which is cheaper than the THB 14,999 (~$495) price tag it sells for in Thailand.

(Update: Video) A store in Japan deploys Robot to enforce mask-wearing & physical distancing

UPDATE: Check out a video of the robot in action from below.

The original story continues;

A Japanese-made robot has become an instant hit and COVID-19 protocols enforcer, having joined the staff of a store with the mandate to ensure that customers wear masks and practice sufficient physical distancing to prevent the spread of the deadly disease.

Robovie

This star robot, whose name is Robovie, was developed by leading robotic firm, Advanced Telecommunications Research Institute International (ATR) and offers guidance and direction to visitors to the official merchandise and memorabilia store of Osaka-based football club, Cerezo Osaka.

Robovie uses a powerful camera in combination with 3D laser beam technology and Artificial Intelligence to guide its operations. It warns customers immediately it detects that they are not wearing face masks or observing physical distancing rules.

Robovie’s deployment provides an innovative response to the challenges posed by the coronavirus pandemic and an indication of how tech firms are providing solutions to human problems. The robot is on trial at the store for up to a month, in the first instance, ATR stated.

Till date, Japan has more than 120,000 reported cases of COVID-19 and about 2,000 deaths. Being close to China where the virus emanated, Japan has been able to exceptionally manage the pandemic better than many countries. Compliance to prevention protocols like regular use of facemasks in public places, physical distancing and hygienic practices.

Boston Dynamics Spot

However, authorities are not letting their guards down and are calling for vigilance amidst the likelihood of a second wave of infections after a resurgence in cases as the weather becomes colder and people spend more time in enclosed places.

The potential of robots playing a significant role in the response to future disease outbreaks is very promising. Robots had played important roles including in isolation centres and hospitals, providing safe solutions to very risky and hazardous situations for humans.

The use of Robots in Japan also includes cheerleading as spotted back in June during the professional baseball game where Fukuoka SoftBank Hawk hosted Rakuten Eagles. The host team owned by Softbank deployed over 20 robots to dance in a choreographed style to the team’s fight song on a podium in the stand which was entirely empty. Some of the robots include the famed Boston Dynamic’s Spot and Softbank’s humanoid robot named Pepper.

OnePlus 9 Camera layout and specs leaked, iPhone inspired?

It’s been just a month since the launch of the OnePlus 8T and the company’s next flagship series is already striking the radar of leaks. The OnePlus 9 series is expected to launch around mid-March of 2021. And now, an exclusive report reveals the OnePlus 9 Camera’s design and specs. And it reminds us of the latest iPhone 12.

According to 91Mobiles’ source, the rear camera of the OnePlus 9 has a rectangular layout with rounded corners. There are two big cut-outs and a smaller one for the sensors along with an LED flash beside them. Precisely, the lens arrangement and the design looks a lot like Apple iPhone 12. However, the difference here is the layout is a bit longer and has a third sensor beneath.

That said, this camera setup leak corroborates with the early CAD renders which showed a OnePlus 9 in white color. It had a similar rectangular setup with slightly curved edges of the rear shell. You can take a closer look at the camera setup and CAD renders below:

OnePlus 9 Camera Specifications(Expected)

Coming back, 91Mobiles’ report also says that the OnePlus 9 will have a 48MP primary camera. Although the source isn’t sure if the sensor is Sony IMX689, it’s sure that it isn’t IMX586. Additionally, the OnePlus 9 camera will have a focal length of 6mm and its output will reportedly be 12MP(4000×3000 pixels). This is probably due to the Quad-Bayer pixel structure where four pixels are combined into one(pixel-binning).

Interestingly, the report adds that a 48MP ultra-wide sensor will also accompany the primary camera. This is surprising considering its predecessor, the OnePlus 8, and even the 8T only have a 16MP sensor. Having said that, there is no information on the third sensor but it could be a macro/monochrome lens.

OnePlus 9: What we know so far

OnePlus 9 series is expected to have OnePlus 9(LE2110/LE2117/LE2119), OnePlus 9 Pro(LE2120/LE2127) models. The non-Pro will likely have a 6.65-inch top-left punch-hole AMOLED display, 120Hz refresh rate, Qualcomm Snapdragon 875 SoC, RAM up to 8GB.

Apart from this, you can also expect standard features like  IP68 rating, NFC, dual stereo speakers, 65W Warp Charging, and more. Let’s wait for more leaks as popular OnePlus tipster Max J. has hinted the same.

Apple quietly lists 128GB 13-inch MacBook Air with M1 chip for Education

Last week, Apple announced its first ARM-based chipset for Macs called Apple M1. At the same virtual event, the American tech giant also launched new MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, and Mac Mini powered by its new silicon. Now, a week later, a new entry-level variant of MacBook Air with 128GB storage has been spotted.

13-inch MacBook Air with M1 Chip Gold

Apple products have always been expensive but the company also has an education program through which schools, colleges, students, and teachers can buy them at discounted prices. At times, the firm even releases special low-storage models to make its products even more appealing to institutions who buy in bulk.

Hence, Apple has quietly listed (via 9to5Mac) a new 128GB variant of MacBook Air with M1. This version is only available under education production and comes in all three colors namely Silver, Space Gray, and Gold. Apart from less storage, it has the exact same specs as the regular retail model that can be bought by everyone.

Apple MacBook Air with M1 Chip 128GB

That said, 128GB storage may sound less for most users but it makes sense for educational institutions. Because multiple students share the same computers and when their work is done, they are mostly asked to delete their files.

Further, this special 128GB variant costs only $799, which is $100 cheaper than the 256GB variant. Since schools and colleges buy products in bulk, they will be saving a lot of money.

Anyway, do you think Apple should sell this variant to regular customers as well? Do let us know in the comment section below.

Lei Jun hints that Redmi Note 9 Series will start around 1,000 yuan($152) in China

Founder of Xiaomi, Lei Jun has teased the price of the upcoming Redmi Note 9 series in China. His latest post on Weibo hints that the new Note 9 series will start around 1,000 yuan($152) pretty much confirming the earlier leaks.

Redmi Note 9 5G launch date is November 26-

Lei Jun, via a post on his official Weibo account, says that the upcoming Redmi Note 9 series will be the best in Performance, Camera, and Battery life segments. This further strengthens the leaks about the Redmi Note 9 series’ devices. Besides, he also questions the users about the configuration they prefer the most in a 1,000 yuan($152) smartphone.

Hours before, Lei Jun ran a poll on Weibo earlier to check people’s favorite Note device. As per the results, Redmi Note 7, Note 8, Note 3 came in the top 3. He shared the results of the poll and asked users’ preferences on the upcoming device. All these, in addition to reports, suggest that the base model, at least the 4G variant might start from 1,000 yuan.

Precisely, a report(via ITHome) says that Redmi Note 9 5G variants will go slightly above 1,000 yuan with the Pro 5G(High-end) version priced around 1,500 yuan($228.5). However, this contradicts the earlier report which said that the entire series will be 5G friendly and begin at 1,000 yuan. In any case, we are just five days away, and hence, let’s wait for the official announcement.

Anyway, the Redmi Note 9 series will break cover on November 26 in China. It is likely to feature three models- two 5G(Redmi Note 9, Note 9 Pro) devices, and an alleged 4G device. Previous reports reveal that Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G will likely be a tweaked version of Xiaomi Mi 10T-Lite and sport a 6.67-inch FHD+ 120Hz display, Snapdragon 750G paired up to 8GB RAM, 108MP camera, 4,820mAh battery with 33W charging.

The Redmi Note 9 5G likely has a 6.53-inch display, MediaTek Dimensity 800U SoC, 48MP rear and 13MP front camera, 5,000mAh battery with 22.5W charging. The alleged 4G variant of the Redmi Note 9, from the TENAA listing, looks a lot similar to the upcoming POCO M3. It will likely feature a 6.5-inch FHD+ display, Snapdragon 662 SoC, 48MP camera, 6,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging.

Huawei phone with Snapdragon 460 coming soon; may launch as Huawei Enjoy 20e

Qualcomm has been granted a license to sell mobile phone chips to Huawei, however, the caveat is that they are limited to 4G chips. Now, a new leak says we may see the first Snapdragon-powered Huawei phone in a while and it may launch as the Huawei Enjoy 20e.

The info comes from the Chinese leaker that goes by Arsenal on Weibo and according to him, the Chinese manufacturer has a new phone in development that may launch as the Enjoy 20e.

Snapdragon 460

The upcoming phone will have a Snapdragon 460 processor. The processor will be paired with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. There will also be a 6GB RAM version which will also have 128GB of storage.

The leak also mentions that the phone will have an HD+ display but doesn’t mention if it will have a notch, a punch hole, or bezels. However, seeing as the Enjoy 20 5G and Enjoy 20 Pro have a waterdrop notch, that may be the case with the Enjoy 20e.

Huawei Enjoy 20e

There will also be a 5000mAh battery with support for 10W charging. With a battery capacity this big, users should get at least 2 days of usage on a single charge, though 10W will be painfully slow charging. Huawei will also use polycarbonate for the phone.

Alongside some of the key specs, the leaker also reveals the possible price tags for the phone. The 4GB RAM version is expected to sell for ¥1199 (~$183) while the 6GB RAM version is expected to sell for ¥1399 (~$213).

There is no info regarding a launch date but we expect it to be announced before the end of the year. We also expect there will be more Huawei phones powered by other Qualcomm 4G processors such as the Snapdragon 720G, Snapdragon 665, and the Snapdragon 662 coming in the future. So fans of Huawei who are already tired of the plethora of Kirin 710/Kirin 710F chipsets have what to look forward to.

AIC which represents Google, Facebook, Twitter criticises Pakistan’s new Censorship law

Tech giants like Google, Facebook, Twitter might leave Pakistan if the country doesn’t back out of a new regulation change. Reports say that the law aims to curb freedom of expression for social media companies.

Credit: AIC. Asia Internet Coalition represents companies like Google, Facebook, Twitter and fights internet policy issues in Asia-Pacific region

As reported by AP(via Gadgets360), Pakistan Government has granted more powers to the Media Regulators. Accordingly, the new change affects Internet Service Providers(ISP)/ Social Media Companies. It says that social media companies should remove obscene content from the internet within 24hours. They will face a fine of up to $3.14 million(~₹23.28 Crores) if they fail to restrict defamatory content. Precisely, the content that is against Islam and National security, Promotes terrorism, hate speech, and pornography.

Additionally, Social media companies should provide(via DAWN) any data in “decrypted, readable and comprehensive format” whenever demanded by Pakistan’s Investigation Agency. The World’s fifth-most populous country also wants the companies to set up offices locally. That said, this has drawn a lot of criticism especially from the Asia Internet Coalition(AIC).

For the unware, AIC was established in 2010 as an Industry association. It aims to promote the understanding of Internet policy issues in the Asia-Pacific region. Coming back, AIC says that the new law is alarming as it targets internet companies. It goes on to say that the draconian data localization requirements will hamper the Internet’s affordability and accessibility. In turn, it will reportedly cut off Pakistan’s digital economy from the rest.

For the unware, Pakistan govt banned short-form video platform TikTok after observing a lot of obscene anti-Islamic videos on it. It then went on to remove the ban after TikTok promised to moderate the content. Although Pakistan’s Govt is yet to comment on AIC’s response, we feel that it needs to act swiftly to coordinate with the relevant parties and find a solution.

POCO India confirms that it’s working on the ‘POCO F Series’; Time for resurrection?

POCO India has been focusing on budget, and mid-range smartphones lately. It began the year with POCO X2 and then carried over to the POCO M2 Pro. While everyone was expecting that the next device would be a flagship, it came out with a POCO X3 and finally POCO C3. However, the company has finally spilled the beans on the next plan. Before you start guessing, yes it’s an answer to the million-dollar question, “when is the next POCO F smartphone coming?”.

POCO X3 NFC logo featured

Anuj Sharma, Country Director of POCO India, and Manmohan, General Manager of Poco India, confirmed(via Mukul Sharma) in the latest AMA(ASK ME ANYTHING) session that they are working on the POCO F series right now. Now, after this, one would pretty much expect that POCO’s next launch will be an F series device. But POCO didn’t say anything about the launch and hence, we will have to wait for a bit.

Anyway, we really hope that POCO surprises everyone by bringing back the budget flagship series sooner to India, maybe in a few months. That said, if you ask me, going by the numbers, the next device will mostly be the POCO F2 and not darn the ‘Pro’ branding. This is because the naming has reached everywhere and currently, it is probably the most asked question regarding POCO. Additionally, Anuj had earlier confirmed that POCO F2 Pro won’t come to India.

He had said in an interview with Indian Express that POCO F2 Pro isn’t a true successor to the POCO F1. Coming back, while answering another question regarding creating the magic of POCO F1 again, Manmohan says that it’s very difficult. This is understandable considering 2020 has been different and the cost of production and supply chain including other issues, has bothered companies during the pandemic.

However, if POCO manages to follow the “Everything you need, Nothing You don’t” trend of F1, we feel that it has a chance to grab the attention back. Anyway, the team including Anju didn’t reveal anything apart from this.

So, if POCO were to launch the next device as POCO F2, what should it have to draw your attention?do let us know in the comments below.

LG patents a laptop design with rollable display and keyboard

A few days back, OPPO unveiled OPPO X 2021 as the world’s first working concept of a rollable smartphone. The company only revealed minute details of this device and did not say if it will be ever hit the shelves. On the other hand, LG has already confirmed that it will release such a phone next year for the public. Ahead of it, the South Korean electronics giant has patented a design for a rollable laptop.

LG Rollable Laptop Design Patent Featured

LG is yet to launch a foldable smartphone, however, it has released other interesting products. First and foremost, LG is the only company to commercially sell a rollable smart TV called LG Signature OLED TV R. Also, it is the only brand in the world selling a modern smartphone with a swivel display in the form of LG Wing.

Though the company has confirmed to launch a rollable smartphone next year, it seems to even have plans for a laptop with this very same tech. Because it has filed a design patent for the same. This LG patent was first reported by Root MyGalaxy but the publication does not say anything about when and at which office this patent was filed.

According to the diagrams, the display in this laptop can be unrolled from 13.3-inch up to 17-inch. That’s not all, even the keyboard with a touchpad can be rolled inside the display drum. So when the notebook is completely rolled, it looks like a soundbar.

So what are the use cases of this design? The only one we could think of is that it will take less space in bags. But since flexible technology is fragile, it will take time to perfect this. Hence, we don’t see LG launching a rollable laptop in the near future.

Having said that, if you still want a futuristic computer, Lenovo sells a foldable laptop called ThinkPad X1 Fold, which is limited to certain regions for now.

Lenovo teases arrival of new phones to rival with Redmi Note 9 5G series; Could it be Lemon series?

Yesterday, Redmi took to Weibo to confirm that it will be launching the Redmi Note 9 5G series on Nov. 26 in China. The lineup includes two 5G-enabled smartphones and a 4G phone. Soon after Redmi’s announcement, Lenovo teased the arrival of new phones through its Weibo handle.

Yesterday, Redmi teased the Note 9 series’ arrival with the “Three Swords Together” tagline. The machine-translated text of the Weibo post by Lenovo reads, “Where there are people, there are rivers and lakes. Three swords in one? Or is it a 6-blade sheath? If you want to compete with the rivers and lakes, meet on high.“ It appears Lenovo will be rivaling the Note 9 series with its upcoming smartphones. Lenovo’s teaser poster reads “6 Coming” and it shows three handsets with a bezel-less design.

A few years, Lenovo used to sell Lemon-branded midrange phones. However, with increased competition from other brands, Lemon phones gradually started disappearing from the market. Recently, Lenovo confirmed that it will once again release Lemon smartphones in China. There is a possibility that Lemon could be a rebranded edition of Motorola phones that are available in other markets.

Lenovo’s General Manager for Mobile Business Department Chen Jin had recently said in an interview that Lenovo and Motorola will position their products differently. Motorola will release mid-to-high smartphones and Legion brand will have performance-driven smartphones. The entry-level smartphone will receive Lemon-branded phones.

Before the launch of the Moto G9 Power, it was spotted with XT2091 model number at the FCC certification platform. The listing revealed that the XT2091-3 variant has Motorola branding, whereas the XT2091-8 is a Lenovo phone.

A new phone with XT2091-7 model number has surfaced in the database of China’s TENAA telecom authority. The preliminary listing at TENAA reveals that the handset measures 172 x 76.7 x 9.6mm and it has a 6.78-inch display. The device houses a 5,640mAh battery. The dimensions and display of the phone are similar to the Moto G9 Power, but its battery size differs slightly. Probably, a slightly modified version of the Moto G9 Power could be coming to China as a Lemon series phone.
