Nokia 9.3 PureView’s under-display selfie camera feature tipped once again

Well-known smartphone OEMs such as Xiaomi, OPPO, Huawei and Samsung are working on under-display selfie camera technology. Which company could be the first one to debut a phone with the said feature? A report from the beginning of this year had claimed that the Nokia 9.3 PureView flagship phone could be one of the first phones to arrive with under-display selfie camera technology. Recent reports have claimed that HMD Global may make it official in the third quarter of this year. A fresh report on Nokia Power User once again states that the Nokia 9.3 PureView’s front camera will be embedded under its screen.

Citing information acquired from sources close to the Finnish firm, the publication reported that the Nokia 9.3 PureView will be equipped with PureDisplay V3. Apart from bringing enhanced PureDisplay features, the screen will bring support for up to 120Hz refresh rate. The feature is also almost confirmed to arrive on the smartphone, claims the new report.

The report further stated that HMD Global was testing under display selfie camera technology along with pop-up selfie camera. The company is reportedly found the under display camera tech to be stable enough to make it available on its upcoming flagship.

Previous reports have revealed that he Nokia 9.3 PureView will be sporting a 108-mgeapixel primary lens and a 64-megapixel sensor in its rear-facing penta-lens setup. For capturing selfies, it may sport a 48-megapixel sensor.

The Snapdragon 865 mobile platform will be at the helm of the Nokia 9.3 PureView. The handset will be running on the purest version of Android 10 OS.

The Nokia 9.3 PureView may debut alongside the Nokia 7.3 smartphone in Q3. The Nokia flagship is expected to arrive in Polar Night and copper-like color editions.

Alleged Realme X3 bags TENAA approval, Realme X50 Youth’s camera details leaked

Realme is reportedly working on a lighter version of the Realme X50 5G phone that debuted in China at the beginning of this year. It is speculated that the model number of the handset is RMX2052. A reliable tipster from China has shared the camera details of the smartphone. At the same time, Realme seems to be working on the launch of a new phone that has a model number of RMX2142. This phone could be the rumored Realme X3 phone. The handset has received 3C and TENAA certifications in China.

The 3C certification of the RMX2142 had revealed that it is a 5G-ready phone and it may arrive with support for 30W fast charging. Currently, only the preliminary specs of the Realme X3 are available on TENAA.

TENAA revealed that the dimensions of the Realme RMX2142 are 163.8 x 75.8 x 8.9mm. The device houses a 6.57-inch display. The phone is backed by a minimum rated battery of 4,100mAh battery. Other details of the phone are yet to surface.

Alleged Realme X50 Youth’s camera details

According to the Chinese tipster, the Realme X50 Youth will have an 8-megapixel (ultrawide) + 2-megapixel (depth) dual camera setup at the front. The Realme X50 features a 16-megapixel (ultrawide) + 8-megapixel (depth) front-facing cameras.

The Realme X50 has a 64-megapixel (main) + 12-megapixel (telephoto) + 8-megapixel (ultrawide) + 2-megapixel (macro) quad rear cameras. The upcoming Realme X50 Youth is expected to feature a main lens of 48-megapixel that will be coupled with an 8-megapixel sensor and a pair of 2-megapixel lenses.

The 3C listing of the phone had revealed that it supports 5G connectivity and it may arrive with 30W charger. The other details of the phone are currently unavailable.

OPPO A52 specifications, pricing and release date appear

OPPO has silently unveiled the OPPO A92 smartphone in China. Recently, the unannounced OPPO A52 was found listed at Google Play Console. Now, the smartphone has appeared in the product library of China Telecom. The listing has revealed the entire specifications, pricing and release date of the smartphone.

The OPPO A52 has a model number of PDAM10. The entire specifications of the PDAM10 had appeared on TENAA in March. Its listing at China Telecom product library has confirmed that it will be debuting in China as OPPO A52. The major selling points of the smartphone are AI powered quad cameras with Ultra-Clear 1080p video shooting and a massive battery with fast charging support

LG Velvet official design video reveals more details including chipset

LG is working on a new series of smartphones with a new design language. The first of the phones from this new series will arrive as the LG Velvet and LG has released a video on YouTube that focuses on its design.

The 35-second long video was posted on the official LG Electronics Korean YouTube channel yesterday. The video starts with a raindrop falling that then transforms into the primary rear camera. As you can see in the video, the primary sensor is raised while the other two sensors and LED flash are flush with the body of the phone.

The LG Velvet has a curved glass back that tapers to the edges. The silver frame in between the back and the front appears to be made of metal and has a mirror finish. The LG Velvet is shown to have its SIM card tray at the top along with two white antenna lines.

The phone has its power button on the right side while the left is home to the volume buttons and the Google Assistant button. The bottom of the phone is home to an audio jack, a USB Type-C port, and a three-hole speaker grille.

The LG Velvet will have a waterdrop notch just like LG’s recent phones. The video also revealed it will be a 5G phone powered by a Snapdragon 765 5G processor and it will be available in four colorways.

The LG Velvet is expected to launch next month but LG is yet to announce an official date.

Design

Glass backs, aluminum frames, a punch-hole display, and a premium design: that is what you get with Xiaomi Mi 10, Huawei P40 and Realme X50 Pro. Huawei P40 has a more compact size and it is the only to offer dust and splash protection with its IP53 certification. But in my opinion, Xiaomi Mi 10 is the most beautiful with its curved edge-to-edge display, a single punch hole in the screen and a smaller camera module on the back, as well as a higher screen-to-body ratio. Do you prefer having the best look or a compact phone with a higher build quality?

Display

On the display side, it is a very close fight between Realme X50 Pro and Xiaomi Mi 10. In each case, you get a Full HD+ Super AMOLED display supporting a high 90 Hz refresh rate and the HDR10+ standard. Two great devices for gaming and multimedia, especially if you consider that they both come with stereo speakers. Unfortunately, they do not have the best displays you can currently get on a phone, but they still offer amazing panels. The Huawei P40 has a smaller and inferior display: it is an average AMOLED panel with a standard refresh rate.

Hardware/Software

Thanks to the presence of a Snapdragon 865 chipset paired with up to 12 GB of RAM, Realme X50 Pro 5G and Xiaomi Mi 10 are actually able to provide higher performance. The chipset is simply more powerful than the Kirin 990 found on the Huawei P40. Further, there is more RAM since Huawei P40 only comes with 6 or 8 GB of RAM. On the other hand, you can expand the internal storage of the Huawei P40, while Realme X50 Pro and Xiaomi Mi 10 do not have an expansion slot. The operating system installed is Android 10 customized by proprietary user interfaces.

Camera

The most impressive rear camera department is the one found on the Huawei P40. It includes a 50 MP main sensor with RYYB filter, a telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, a 16 MP ultrawide lens and dual OIS. But Xiaomi Mi 10 is still a pretty nice camera phone: it lacks a telephoto sensor, but it has an amazing 108 MP main lens that can record 8K videos. Realme X50 Pro wins the front camera comparison since it sports a dual setup including an 8 MP ultrawide sensor. But despite including a telephoto lens, the photo quality provided by the rear cameras can not compete with the Xiaomi Mi 10 and the Huawei P40.

Battery

Xiaomi Mi 10 is the king of battery life with a huge 4780 mAh battery (even bigger than Mi 10 Pro). It is also the only phone from this trio to support wireless charging (with one of the fastest wireless charging technology due to a 30W power) and reverse wireless charging. On the other hand, Realme X50 Pro supports the fastest wired charging technology with a 65W power.

Price

Realme X50 Pro went global with a €599/$651 starting price, Xiaomi Mi 10 starts from €899/$978, and Huawei P40 costs €799/$869 in its base variant. While Realme X50 Pro offers the highest value for money, Xiaomi Mi 10 has the most advanced specs sheet. But if you need the best camera phone, then Huawei P40 is the guy.

Huawei Nova 7 Series hands-on images leak; reveal specs and design

The Nova 7 series from Huawei launched next week, four months after the Nova 6 series was announced. The series will include the Nova 7 SE, the Nova 7, and the Nova 7 Pro. Ahead of the launch, live photos of the three phones have leaked on the web, they not only give us a look at the devices but also reveal their specifications.

Nova 7 SE 5G

The Nova 7 SE is shown to have a punch-hole display. The hole is at the top left corner and it’s not the smallest we have seen on a phone. Unfortunately, none of the images show the rear of the phone.

The image that shows the About Phone section of the device reveals the phone has a 6.5-inch LCD display with a 2400 x 1080 resolution. There is a Kirin 820 5G processor inside the device and it draws power from a 4000mAh battery. The image also confirms the phone has support for 40W wired fast charging.

The Nova 7 SE has a 16MP f/2.0 front-facing camera and one of the rear cameras is a 2MP f/2.4 sensor. The Nova 7 SE will run EMUI 10.1 based on Android 10 out of the box. Its dimensions are 162.31 x 75.0 x 8.58 millimeters and its weight is 189 grams.

Nova 7 5G

The Nova 7 has a punch-hole display too but the hole appears to be smaller in size. The display also appears to be wider than that of the Nova 7 SE. The image of the rear shows the phone has four cameras arranged vertically and housed in a rectangle along with an LED flash.

The Nova 7 5G will have a 6.53-inch OLED display with a 2400 x 1080 resolution. It will be powered by the new Kirin 985 chipset paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage.

The quad-camera setup on the back includes a 64MP f/1.8 primary sensor, an 8MP f/2.4 ultrawide angle camera, an 8MP f/2.4 telephoto camera, and a 2MP macro camera. The Nova 7 5G also gets a 32MP f/2.0 selfie camera.

Just like the Nova 7 SE, it too comes with a 4000mAh battery capacity with support for 40W fast wired charging and runs EMUI 10.1 based on Android 10. The Nova 7 5G will be available in five colors including red, green, purple, and black. The phone weighs 180 grams and measures 160.64 x 74.33 x 7.96 millimeters.

Nova 7 Pro 5G

The Nova 7 Pro 5G is the leader of the pack and it comes with a more premium design and features. Its 6.57-inch 2340 x 1080 OLED display is curved at the sides and has a large pill-shaped hole for dual selfie cameras. It also has four cameras and one of them has a periscope lens.

The device will be powered by the same Kirin 985 chipset the standard version uses. It will also come with 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage.

The quad-camera setup on its rear is similar to that of the Nova 7, however, rather than an 8MP f/2.4 telephoto camera, it has an 8MP periscope lens with an f/3.4 aperture and optical image stabilization. The primary selfie camera is a 32MP f/2.2 AF sensor and it is paired with an 8MP f/2.2 FF ultrawide angle camera.

The Nova 7 Pro 5G has a 4000mAh battery capacity, supports 40W fast charge, and runs Android 10. It measures 160.36 x 73.74 x 7.98 millimeters and weighs 178 grams. It will come in five colorways too.

Huawei has announced that the Nova 7 series will be launched on April 23 in China.

[Update: May 4] Flipkart will commence sales of products including smartphones from April 20

Update

On April 19, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) reverted its original decision. E-commerce companies are once again allowed to supply only essential goods. Non-essential goods will remain prohibited until May 3, the end of extended lockdown. They might be able to start their operations as usual from May 4 if everything goes fine.

India has been under lockdown for almost a month to avoid the spread of coronavirus. The precautionary lockdown was initially set for 21 days, however, the rise of COVID-19 cases led the central government to further extend it till May 3.

But to keep up the economy running, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) announced a relaxation of businesses to start operating by abiding necessary rules from April 20. Following which, Flipkart, one of the largest e-commerce platforms in the country has confirmed to slowly begin its all services.

Flipkart, together with Amazon and other players have been operating in India even during the lockdown. But these companies are only limited to sell essential products. Thankfully, that will change with the new relaxation issued by the government as they can now start selling non-essential goods as well.

As of now, only Flipkart has confirmed to begin their operations. It has already started accepting orders for smartphones, which is one of the most selling categories of products on this platform. For the unaware, Flipkart is the largest home for exclusive smartphones in India.

Smartphone brands have been long trying to sell their devices since late last month by appealing the government to declare ‘smartphones as essential commodity’. However, that did not happen but once the MHA announced relaxation, they began their negotiations with their strategic online partners.

Coming back to Flipkart, it assures to follow the proper guidelines like maintaining social distancing by employing contactless deliveries through a sanitized supply chain. Also, it will offer services to only those areas where it is safe. Users can check if their area is eligible by entering the pin code.

We also expect all other players to begin their operations if it all goes well. Amazon, the primary rival of Flipkart in India is yet to confirm its decision.

OnePlus 8 Pro Teardown video shows neatly arranged internals

Soon after the launch of the OnePlus 8 Pro and OnePlus 8, Zack Nelson of JeerRigEverything fame released a video of the durability test of the high-end OnePlus 8 Pro. In his usual pattern, the OP8 Pro teardown video has now gone live. Turns out the OnePlus 8 Pro is not only sleek on the outside but also features a beautifully designed internal structure.

The teardown video takes us through what it entails to pry into the internals of the OnePlus flagship. If there is a need to repair the device, it won’t be an easy task taking off the rear panel. That is because the panel is held in place with stronger adhesive and this is likely due to the IP68 waterproof and dustproof rating.

Zack describes the OP8 Pro as having among the best looking ‘guts’ he’s seen lately and we agree with him. The internal components are quite neatly arranged including the copper wireless charging coil. The phone would have been amazing with a transparent glass back due to the neat internals. More prominent is the copper wireless charging coil which adopts a large circular winding to manage the 30W wireless charging capacity. The loudspeaker was also observed to have got sound dampening balls to enhance the audio output.

In addition, the teardown also unmasks the presence of optical image stabilization (OIS) on the main 48-megapixel sensor and the 8-megapixel depth sensor. Once the back panel has been pry opened, other components can be detached easily. For instance, the battery is removed without much effort which makes for easy repairs. OPPO earlier today silently launched the OPPO A92s in China. The OPPO Find X2 Lite has now gotten the same treatment as it has been officially unveiled in Portugal and is now listed in the brand’s local website.

OPPO Find X2 Lite Design, Specs & Features

The OPPO Find X2 Lite has been in the rumour mills no sooner after the Find X2 was launched last month. The device features a 6.4-inch OLED screen with FHD+ resolution and 20:9 aspect ratio. The screen supports 60Hz refresh rate. The display is protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 overlay and is embedded with an under-display fingerprint sensor. With the OLED display, the screen is clearly visible, even in bright sunlight. The maximum brightness in daily operation is 600nit. The device has a lightweight build, weighing just about 180g with a thickness of just 7.96mm.

OPPO Find X2 Lite 5G is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 processor which brings SA/NSA dual-mode 5G connectivity onboard. The processor is paired with 8GB of RAM and there is 128GB internal storage. We expect other lower memory options to be made available. The device features an exclusive wrap antenna design that smartly adjusts according to the user’s position to obtain the best possible signal. Thus, there won’t be signal blocks or loss of connectivity especially during gaming as a result of how the phone is held.

Further, the Find X2 Lite comes with Smart 5G feature which switches seamlessly between 4G and 5G based on the network available and the available bandwidth. This helps to regulate the phone’s power consumption and is said to increase battery life by up to 30%.

For photography, the device houses a 32MP selfie shooter with f/2.0 aperture housed inside the waterdrop notch. At the rear, there is a quad-camera setup which consists of a 48 megapixels main camera with f/1.7 aperture. iPhone Sales could drop by 36% in the Second Quarter of 2020

COVID-19 pandemic has become an unexpected nightmare for businesses around the world and Apple is no exception in this regard. A new report from Goldman Sachs expects iPhone sales to decline by 36% YoY in the second quarter of 2020.

Apple stopped reporting the number of iPhones sold a while back when the figure started declining. Instead, it only shares the revenue generated every quarter, which remains to be strong as these handheld devices now cost over $1000.

Anyway, the revenue data is enough for analysts to imagine the number of units sold. Seven analysts in a Bloomberg survey predict the Cupertino-based company to sell only 28 million iPhones in the on-going second quarter. While another group of three analysts suggests a 27% drop in the number of iPhones sold in the same period.

Additionally, the average selling price of the iPhones will continue to be Apple’s weakness. The sales figure will recover only by the last quarter of the year with a 2% drop compared to last year at the same time. Sadly, this will affect Apple when the company is expected to debut its first 5G capable iPhones.

Amidst this, Apple announced its first-ever sub $500 iPhone in years in the form of iPhone SE 2020. The phone starts at $399 for the base 64GB version and goes up to $549 for the top variant with 256GB storage. Whereas, the mid-tier 128GB model costs $449.

The new launch has resulted in the company discontinuing the iPhone 8 in the US. Apple currently only sells iPhone 8 Plus (select retailers), iPhone XR, iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max and iPhone SE 2020 in its home market.

Nubia Play will feature Customizable Shoulder Buttons like its siblings

A few days back, Nubia announced the launch date of its next smartphone called Nubia Play. Since then, the brand has been teasing the features of this new handset on Weibo. For today, the company confirmed the presence of shoulder buttons for better gaming.

Ni Fei, the president of Nubia Technology and co-founder of Nubia brand has been sharing features of the Nubia Play in the form of teasers on his official Weibo account. Today, he revealed the device to feature shoulder buttons like the brand’s mainstream gaming smartphones.

Mr Fei claims the Nubia Play will offer an immersive smooth gameplay experience with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G underneath. As revealed earlier, the 144Hz refresh rate AMOLED display with 240Hz touch sampling rate and shoulder buttons will further enrich the gameplay. These buttons will be customizable and thus can be used in multiple games like PUBG Mobile, QQ Flying Car, and others.

The device will also feature an in-display fingerprint reader like any other new smartphones with OLED displays. Zenfone Max M1, Zenfone Lite, and Zenfone Live L1 series get AOSP-based Android 10 beta updates

ASUS is trying to update quite a number of its phones to Android 10 and one of the ways it is doing it is by releasing an AOSP-based version for them. A little over a week ago, we reported that the Zenfone 5 had gotten an AOSP-based beta Android 10 update, now four more ASUS phones are getting the same treatment.

The Taiwanese electronics manufacturer has released AOSP-based Android 10 beta updates for the Zenfone Max M1, the Zenfone Lite, and the Zenfone Live L1 and Zenfone Live L2.

All of the aforementioned entry-level phones launched with Android 8.0 Oreo/Android 8.0 Oreo (Go Edition) and it is good to see that ASUS is updating them to Android 10.

Just like in the case of the Zenfone 5, if you intend to sideload these beta updates, you have to backup your data first. The files are over 1.5GB in size and the description says they come with updated security patches. Also, do ensure that you confirm the firmware version your device currently runs before downloading the update.

Lenovo ThinkBook Plus dual-screen Laptop now on reservation

One of the spectacular products unveiled by Lenovo at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this year was the ThinkBook Plus. A dual-screen notebook, Lenovo ThinkBook Plus features a second screen made from electronic ink (e-ink). The good news is the laptop will soon meet with us as it is now on reservation in China via Jingdong (JD.com). The sleek notebook now carries a price tag of 8499 yuan (~$1200) and will go on sale from April 24.

The Lenovo ThinkBook Plus is a high-end notebook PC with a 10.8-inch secondary e-ink screen. The secondary screen can display calendar, weather information, e-mail and other information. It also supports custom wallpapers which can be used to improve the aesthetic appeal of the laptop.

The e-ink screen isn’t even the high-end feature of the laptop. The ThinkBook Plus is equipped with a 2096-level pressure-sensitive stylus. The e-ink display and stylus can be used to take notes that sync to Microsoft OneNote.

The main display is a 13.3-inch screen with a resolution of 1920×1080, and a maximum brightness of 300 nits. The display also supports 100% sRGB color gamut and has an ultra-thin 5.5mm bezel. The body is as thin as 17.4mm while the laptop weighs 1.5kg.

In terms of performance, Lenovo ThinkBook Plus is equipped with a Core i5-10210U processor with the highest core frequency of 4.2GHz. The device is equipped with 16GB of RAM and 512GB of solid-state drive. Further, it features support for Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.0, bringing faster and more stable connection.

OPPO A92s with Dimensity 800 5G SoC gets a silent launch in China, starts at ¥2199 (~$310)

OPPO has quietly announced the OPPO A92s mid-range 5G smartphone in China. The phone is the first in the world powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 800 5G SoC announced last December. The SoC allows for manufacturers to make affordable 5G smartphones, and the OPPO A92s is a perfect example.

OPPO has put a starting price of ¥2199 (~$310) on the new phone and it offers quite a lot for that price. It has a 6.57-inch 1080p screen albeit LCD with a 120Hz refresh rate. There is a pill-shaped punch-hole for two selfie cameras (a 16MP sensor and a 2MP sensor with an ultrawide angle lens) at the top left corner of the display.

The OPPO A92s has a squircle-shaped camera module on the back that houses four cameras – a primary 48MP sensor, an 8MP ultrawide angle camera, a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. OPPO has adopted the side-mounted fingerprint scanner design, so you unlock the phone by placing your finger on the power button.

The Dimensity 800 is paired with 6GB or 8GB of RAM and you get 128GB of storage on the variants. There is a 4000mAh battery inside the phone with support for 18W fast charge. OPPO ships the phone with Android 10 out of the box.

The A92s will go on sale on April 29 at 10 AM but you can make a reservation on the official OPPO online shop. As stated above, the base model will sell for ¥2199 (~$310) but if you want the 8GB RAM version, you will have to shell out ¥2499 (~$353). The phone will be available in black and purple.

Samsung will tackle COVID-19 by launching Cheap Affordable 5G Smartphones

The worldwide smartphone shipments fell by 13.3% in the first quarter of 2020. Sales in February alone was declined by 38% annually accounting for only 60 million units. The COVID-19 pandemic has severely affected already slowing smartphone market. To recover from it, according to a report from South Korea, Samsung will be launching a new number of affordable 5G smartphones throughout the remaining year.

Samsung has already unveiled its first two cheap affordable 5G smartphones in the form of Galaxy A51 5G and Galaxy A71 5G last week in the US. But they are yet to go on sale in the region with a stipulated availability some later in summer. Interestingly, the Galaxy A71 5G is already up for sale in China where the company has the lowest presence.

As for pricing, the Galaxy A51 5G will retail for $499.99 and the Galaxy A71 5G will cost $599.99. In South Korea, they are expected to be priced around 500,000 Won ($411) and 700,000 Won ($575) respectively. Whereas, in China, the latter device is sold at 3,999 Yuan ($480).

Looking at the prices of this first generation of cheap affordable 5G smartphones by Samsung, we can conclude the brand has slashed the price of its 5G smartphones by 62% just within 11 months. For the unware, the first Samsung 5G smartphone, the Galaxy S10 5G was priced at $1299.99.

Samsung is expected to launch these models and other upcoming affordable 5G smartphones in all the countries where 5G networks are up and running. In addition to this, the South Korean smartphone maker will continue launching new Galaxy A and Galaxy M series devices in all markets to recover from sales decline.

Huawei will be venturing into Smart Car Charging Solutions with its new HiCharger DC Fast Charging Module

Huawei is involved in a number of industries which include smartphones, telecommunications, and even smart TVs. A few days back, the company announced the launch of a new Hauwei HiCharger DC fast charging module on April 24. This new charging module will be used as an energy charging infrastructure solution in co-operation with a number of electric departments in China such as Grid (Beijing) and Xingxing Charging (Changzhou), Nanwang Electric (Shenzhen), China Merchants Sanyou (Beijing), Zhuhai Titan (Zhuhai) and Dalian Robinson (Dalian), and others.

The release of HiCharger DC fast charging module will officially mark Huawei’s entry into the field of charging solutions. The company’s energy product lineup will cover four areas namely data center energy, communications energy, smart photovoltaic, and smart electric.

Out of the which, the Huawei smart electric division is committed to creating high-quality, high-standard automotive electrification solutions, providing components such as charging and power supply, electronic control, and battery management.

If Huawei continues to thrive in the new charging solutions like the upcoming HiCharger DC fast charging module, it could become one of the primary suppliers of smart car charging solutions in a few years from now, at least in its home country China.

In addition to charging solutions, the company has already announced a smart interactive system for cars called HiCar late last year. This feature is baked into the brand’s EMUI mobile software and is available on certain high-end smartphones like Mate 30 series.

Meizu 17 achieves 11.77 Hours in Internal Battery Endurance Test

Meizu 17 will be soon launched on April 22. Ahead of it, the device has been leaked multiple times over the past few weeks. Additionally, the brand itself has now started teasing its features. Yesterday, the company confirmed the processor and battery capacity of the handset. And now, it has shared the internal battery endurance test results of Meizu 17 against competitors like Huawei P40 Pro, Oppo Find X2 Pro, and Xiaomi Mi 10.

As you can see from the image above, the upcoming Meizu 17 performs better than all the competitors that were tested alongside it. Bizarrely, the Xiaomi Mi 10 with the largest capacity battery, 4,780 mAh to be precise, performs the worst with only 8.16 hours.

Further, although the Huawei P40 Pro and Oppo Find X2 Pro have a similar 4,200 mAh battery, the former achieved 9.75 hours compared to the latter’s 9.06 hours.

Whereas, the star of the show, Meizu 17 with a 4,500 mAh battery scores 11.77 hours, which is much better than all the handsets mentioned above.

The 8 hours battery endurance test conducted by Meizu laboratory included the devices to run WeChat for 2 hours, Kings of Glory gameplay for 2 hours, music playback for 1 hour, 30 minutes of camera usage followed by another 30 minutes for the gallery app, 1 hour of E-book reading, 20 minutes on the homescreen, and 10 minutes in Settings.

iPhone 12 Pro Max CAD renders based on leaks reveal the expected design

September is still several months away, for that is when Apple is expected to go official with the 2020 iPhone 12 flagship models. Interestingly, the rumour mill has become active with details of the iPhone 12. A Youtuber has now created CAD renders of the iPhone 12 Pro Max based n what has been leaked so far.

Apple is expected to retain the large display Pro Max version which featured on the phone 10a and iPhone 11. The iPhone 12 Pro Max display is expected to have thinner bezel said to be around 0.9mm thinner. The device will pack a 6.7-inch display.

According to the YouTuber, the rear design showing the camera placement is yet to be concluded as well as the notch. However, the iPhone 12 Pro Max will pack a quad-camera setup with a LiDAR sensor but the arrangement may differ from the render as the design is yet to be finalized.

In addition, the smartphone will adopt a different speaker grille design different from what we are used to. The loudspeakers will also reportedly get a bump of 10 to 15% in loudness.
