ViewSonic launches IN03 and CN01 series displays for classrooms and businesses

ViewSonic has announced its IN03 and CN01 display series. According to the company, these new Made-in-India panels are designed to cater to both classrooms and commercial spaces. With production taking place in Gujarat, Noida, and Tirupati, the products aim to combine global innovation with local design needs.

The ViewBoard IN03 series comes in 65, 75 and 86-inch sizes and is powered by Android 14. It carries Google EDLA certification, giving users direct access to the Google Play Store and Workspace apps, including Chrome, YouTube and Google Search. The interface allows quick customization with widgets and shortcuts, while EDLA also ensures timely security updates.

The IN03 is engineered with 4K UHD panels featuring advanced bonding and Ultra Fine Touch technology. Its 40-point touch support and dual-tip pen deliver a near pen-on-paper writing feel suitable for teaching and brainstorming. Audio is supported by dual 20W speakers, while USB-C and microSD slots expand connectivity and storage.

Meanwhile, the CN01 series is designed for continuous operation, making it suitable for signage and communication in schools, offices and public areas. It is available in 43, 55, 65 and 75-inch options with a brightness level of 520 nits, ensuring visibility in various lighting conditions.

The displays support both landscape and portrait orientation and feature wireless casting through AirPlay, Miracast and Chromecast. A built-in signage player with scheduling capabilities, along with LAN-based remote management, makes it suitable for centrally controlled setups.

Xiaomi promises six years of software updates for these phones and tablets. This means these devices will receive security updates for a total of six years. These security updates do not introduce new features or visual changes, but they ensure the device remains unaffected by the newly discovered vulnerabilities.

As for the feature updates, all Xiaomi devices on the list promise four major OS updates. This kind of update brings truckloads of new features and enhancements, such as the upcoming Android 16-based HyperOS 3 upgrade.

While six software updates are a remarkable policy among Android devices, Xiaomi doesn’t stop there. The Chinese brand offers up to seven years of updates on devices like the Redmi Pad 2. This is the maximum security updates offered by any Android brand, including Samsung and Google.

Xiaomi has made excellent improvements to its update policy, particularly for newer models. It’s good to see mid-range phones like Redmi Note 14 (4G) and Poco F7 getting the flagship treatment in terms of longer software support. Hopefully, more mid-range and cheaper models will benefit from this impressive update policy.

Xiaomi 16 Pro Mini could pack a 6,300mAh battery with wireless charging, periscope camera, and more

There have been reports that Xiaomi will launch a powerful compact phone alongside the Xiaomi 16 and 16 Pro in September in China. This device, tentatively dubbed the Xiaomi 16 Pro Mini, will feature the same Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chip as the other 16 series phones. A new leak that surfaced today has revealed the battery capacity of the device.

A previous report claimed that the Xiaomi 16 Pro Mini could be equipped with a 6.3-inch OLED panel. In the latest leak, tipster Digital Chat Station claimed that the prototype sports a new form factor design with large, rounded corners and ultra-narrow bezels, thanks to LIPO technology.

On the camera front, its primary lens is said to be backed by a large camera sensor. It is also expected to feature a periscope camera. However, the tipster did not reveal the exact camera sensors or megapixel count.

The Xiaomi 16 Pro Mini will feature an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor and offer comprehensive waterproofing. Under the hood, the device will be powered by a 6,300mAh battery with support for wireless charging.

At present, the Dimensity 9300 Plus-powered Vivo S30 Pro Mini, with its 6.31-inch screen and 6,500mAh battery, offers the largest battery on a compact phone. However, the Xiaomi 16 Pro Mini’s battery is still larger than that of the OnePlus 13s, which packs a 6,260mAh unit. According to DCS, upcoming compact flagship phones are expected to offer up to 7,000mAh batteries this year.

Realme 15T 5G appears with Dimensity 6400 on Geekbench

Realme is all set to launch the Realme P4 and P4 Pro on Aug. 20 in India. Speculations are rife that the Realme 15T 5G will be the next device from the brand to hit the Indian market after the P4 series. Reports have revealed that the device has the RMX5111 model number, and it has now appeared on Geekbench, revealing its key specifications.

As seen above, the Realme 15T has appeared on Geekbench with a MediaTek chip featuring six cores clocked at 2.00GHz and two cores operating at 2.50GHz. For graphics, the device is equipped with the Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. These details confirm that the device is powered by the Dimensity 6400 SoC, which reports suggest will be marketed as the Dimensity 6400 Max.

The Realme 15T Geekbench listing further reveals that it has 8GB of RAM and runs Android 15. In the single-core and multi-core tests, the device scored 806 and 1989 points, respectively.

According to other reports, the Realme 15T 5G will feature a 6.57-inch flat OLED panel with support for a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. For selfies, it may house a 50-megapixel front camera, while its back panel could feature a dual-camera setup comprising a 50-megapixel main sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor.

The Dimensity 6400 Max-powered device is expected to arrive in multiple configurations, such as 8GB+128GB, 8GB+256GB, and 12GB+256GB. It will pack a massive 7,000mAh battery with 80W charging support. The phone is also tipped to come in three color options: Suti Titanium, Silk Blue, and Flowing Silver.

The Best Galaxy AI Features on Samsung Phones

When Samsung first started talking about “Galaxy AI,” I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect. The term “AI” gets thrown around a lot these days. Sometimes, it’s just another buzzword for features we’ve had for years. 

But after actually using a Samsung phone with Galaxy AI built in, I’ve realized that some of these tools are not only useful but also surprisingly easy to fit into everyday life. They’re not gimmicks; they actually help.

So instead of giving you a technical breakdown, I want to walk through the features that stood out to me the most, the ones I keep going back to. Here are all of them.

1. Live Translate

The first time I used Live Translate on a call, I was a little skeptical. I was talking to a friend who isn’t comfortable with English, and I figured the translations might be clunky or slow. But the feature actually worked surprisingly smoothly.

Here’s how it works. While you’re on a call, you can activate Live Translate by pressing on the Call Assist menu that appears on top of the in-call menu. You can now select the language you want your conversation to be translated into. And this way, both sides of the conversation get real-time translations. 

I speak in English, and the other person hears it in their preferred language. When they reply, I see their words translated into English on my screen.

It’s not perfect; sometimes the translations can be a little stiff, but it’s good enough to keep the conversation flowing. The best part is that it all happens directly on the phone, so you don’t need a separate app running in the background.

For me, this has been one of the most impressive Galaxy AI features. It’s practical and removes a real barrier when you’re talking to people who speak different languages.

2. Circle to Search

Even though it’s incredibly simple, Circle to Search is one of the features I use the most. We’ve all been in situations where we spot a product, a place, or even just a random object while scrolling through social media that makes us curious. Circle to Search makes it incredibly easy to learn more about those things.

You just hold down the home button and literally draw a circle around whatever’s on the screen. Instantly, Google pulls up results about that item, no need to type anything, no need to open a browser separately.

I used it the other day while scrolling through Instagram. Someone was wearing a jacket I liked, so I circled it, and within seconds, I had links to where I could buy similar styles. Another time, I used it on a picture of a dish I didn’t recognize, and it showed me what it was and even gave me recipes.

It feels like a small feature, but the way it integrates into daily use makes it one of the most natural AI tools Samsung has added.

3. Chat Assist

Messaging is probably a big part of everyone’s daily life in 2025, but sometimes you want your words to come across differently depending on the situation. That’s where Chat Assist comes in handy.

I tried it while drafting an email, and the tool offered to rephrase my text in different tones. If I wanted it more professional, it cleaned up my wording. If I wanted it casual, it relaxed the tone. 

You may still want (or need) to tweak the message here and there to add your personal touch, but it’s a huge time-saver. And since everything happens within the keyboard itself, you don’t have to switch apps either.

4. Note Assist

If you’ve ever recorded a lecture, an interview, or even just a long voice note, you’ll know how messy it can be to go back and figure out what was said. Samsung’s Transcript Assist has been surprisingly useful here.

The feature can clean a transcript within seconds and can even summarize the main points. What surprised me most was how accurate it was, even with multiple people speaking.

It’s not just for professionals either. I’ve used it to capture personal notes, like when I had a long conversation with a relative about a family function or gathering. Having it written out makes it so much easier to revisit later.

5. Generative Edit

Samsung has built some AI smarts into its photo editor as well, and while I usually don’t bother much with editing, I ended up using these tools more than I expected.

The standout for me is the ability to remove unwanted objects. I might not be wrong in saying that Samsung currently has the best generative fill for object removal. 

You’ve probably seen some reels or shorts where Samsung’s generative AI reconstructs an entire face even when it’s partially covered, while Apple’s AI often struggles in the same scenario. That’s how good it is.

Another neat trick is resizing or moving objects within a photo. At first, I thought it might look fake, but most of the time, the edits are seamless. If you post a lot on social media, these tools can save you from retaking shots over and over.

6. A few things I’ve noticed

After using these features for a while, there are a couple of things to take notes of. First, most of them require an internet connection since the AI runs partly on Samsung’s servers. That means if you’re offline, you can’t rely on them. 

Second, the accuracy can vary. Live Translate works best with major languages, but it’s less reliable for rare ones. Similarly, generative edits in photos sometimes leave small glitches.

But overall, these aren’t deal-breakers. The important thing is that the features save time and effort in real situations.

Infinix has introduced the XBOOK B15 laptop in India with the tagline “Master Every Task.” The laptop brings a 15.6-inch IPS display with a 16:9 aspect ratio, 1920×1080 resolution, 87.4 percent screen-to-body ratio, and 3.75mm bezels.

The XBOOK B15 is equipped with a 50Wh lithium polymer battery and ships with a 65W Type-C adapter. It measures 352.8mm wide, 226.7mm deep, and 17.65mm high, weighs 1.59kg, and features an aluminum alloy lid.

Apple could split iPhone launches into two separate events starting next year

Apple is still weeks away from introducing the iPhone 17 series, but reports from Korea suggest the company is already planning a major change for the iPhone 18 lineup in 2026. According to ET News, Apple could split its launch into two separate events, marking a big shift from the yearly all-in-one keynote we’ve seen for over a decade.

If the report holds true, September 2026 would see the debut of the iPhone 18 Air, iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and—perhaps most notably—a foldable iPhone, Apple’s first entry into the growing foldable category. Then, in early 2027, Apple would return with a second event to unveil the standard iPhone 18 alongside the iPhone 18e.

The same staggered schedule is said to continue with the iPhone 19 series: the premium models, including the foldable, would be shown in September 2027, while the vanilla and budget editions would follow in the first half of 2028.

Why Apple might do this

Splitting the launches could allow Apple to highlight its most advanced devices first, appealing to early adopters and premium buyers, while giving the mainstream and entry-level models their own spotlight later. It could also help Apple better manage production timelines—particularly with the foldable iPhone.

Apple is set to announce the iPhone 17 series on September 9 but the reported change for the iPhone 18 shows the company is thinking further ahead. If true, the move could mark the beginning of a new era in how Apple positions and markets its iPhones.

TCL 60 Ultra Nxtpaper appears on retail site with full specs and images

The TCL 60 Ultra Nxtpaper has quietly surfaced on a Colombian e-commerce platform, revealing its full design and specifications. While the listing currently marks the device as out of stock and there’s no official mention from TCL Colombia, the appearance gives us a detailed look at the company’s upcoming large-screen phone with its signature eye-care display technology.

The phone went live on August 18, 2025, according to GSMArena. At its heart is a 7.2-inch LCD using TCL’s NXTPAPER tech, offering 1080×2340 resolution and a 120 Hz refresh rate. The panel reportedly reduces blue light and glare, making long viewing sessions easier on the eyes.

Inside, TCL went with a MediaTek Dimensity 7400 chip, backed by 12 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage—enough for multitasking or media-heavy use. A 5,200 mAh battery promises good endurance, and the whole package runs on Android 15 with TCL’s own UI—and is reassuringly IP68-rated for water and dust resistance, rare for phones this large.

Cameras include a 50 MP main sensor, a 50 MP periscope telephoto with OIS offering 3× optical zoom, and an 8 MP ultrawide. A 32 MP front shooter handles selfies. The phone comes with a side-mounted fingerprint scanner and a single color option: black. TCL hasn’t shared official pricing, but related mid-range models in the 60 XE series hover around COP 993,300 (~$247) based on local listings.

The 60 Ultra Nxtpaper, with its larger display and tougher build, is likely priced accordingly higher—still probably under the mid-range sweet spot.

By pushing NXTPAPER displays and durable design into this segment, TCL is carving a niche. If you want a big screen that’s easier on your eyes—even across long reading sessions—it’s worth watching to see whether this model lands beyond Colombia.

Other details include an 8MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, dual speakers, and Android 15 with One UI 7 out of the box.

With multiple certifications already in place, the Tab S10 Lite could appear at IFA 2025 in Berlin this September. Priced around €399 (~$467) in Europe, it undercuts the Tab S10 FE while still packing solid features. If the leak holds true, the new pinkish option could give Samsung’s Lite series a welcome style upgrade.

Google’s AI Overviews flagged for serving scam support numbers

Google’s AI Overviews are designed to make search quicker and easier, but some users are finding out the hard way that the feature can also serve up scams. Reports have surfaced of fraudulent customer service numbers appearing in the AI-generated summaries, raising fresh concerns about trust and safety in Google’s new search experience.

One recent case, shared on Facebook by user Alex Rivlin shows how convincing these scams can be. Rivlin was searching for a Royal Caribbean shuttle booking number when the AI Overview at the top of Google’s results provided what looked like an official contact line. The person on the other end asked for a credit card to pay for the shuttle. But when the “representative” started requesting extra fees and more personal details, Rivlin backed out—only to later notice unauthorized charges on his card. He was able to block them, but the incident revealed how easily scammers can slip through.

This isn’t an isolated problem. Months earlier, a Reddit user reported dialing what they thought was a Southwest Airlines number from an AI Overview, only to discover it was another scam. Because these summaries pull information directly from around the web, they can sometimes surface fake listings or phishing numbers that have been seeded online. To make matters worse, even a quick Google cross-check might show those same numbers linked to legitimate-looking pages, adding another layer of deception.

The issue is especially worrying given how widely AI Overviews are being used. According to StatCounter, about a quarter of Google searches in the US triggered AI Overviews in Q2 2025. That reach gives scammers plenty of opportunities to exploit unsuspecting users.

So far, Google hasn’t issued a public response to these reports. Until then, the safest move is to bypass AI summaries when looking for customer support and instead rely on official company websites or well-known directories. With AI-driven fraud on the rise—from voice clones to hidden phishing tactics—double-checking a phone number could save people a lot more than just frustration.

AYANEO launches Pocket DS as its latest Android gaming handheld with a Snapdragon processor

AYANEO is adding another member to its growing handheld family, and this one is built for nostalgia as much as performance. The newly announced AYANEO Pocket DS takes cues from the dual-screen era of portable consoles, pairing modern Android gaming with a retro-friendly design.

It comes in a clamshell form factor with two displays, a Qualcomm Snapdragon gaming chip, and enough software tweaks to take full use of the second screen.

Specs and features

At its core, the Pocket DS runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon G3x Gen 2 platform — the same chip powering AYANEO’s Pocket S, Pocket EVO, and other recent handhelds. 

The base model ships with 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB of UFS 3.1 storage, with higher-end configurations going up to 16GB + 1TB. AYANEO has also included its in-house AYASpace + AYAHome software, along with a planned “DS Launcher” app for streamlined multitasking.

The main display is a 7-inch OLED panel with 1080p resolution, a refresh rate of up to 165Hz, 800 nits peak brightness, and HDR support. The secondary screen is a 5-inch IPS LCD with a 1024 × 768 resolution in a 4:3 aspect ratio, designed to suit Nintendo DS and 3DS emulation better.

Both screens support quick mode switching, gestures for swapping content, and AYANEO’s new “Focus Lock” feature for controlling where input is directed. Also, the clamshell body uses a metal top shell and a hinge that can open flat to 180 degrees. 

Powering the setup is an 8,000mAh battery with PD fast charging. Cooling is handled by a PC-grade turbo fan and copper plate system to manage sustained loads. 

On the input side, AYANEO has equipped the Pocket DS with Hall effect triggers, TMR joysticks, standard ABXY buttons, dual X-axis linear motors, and dual front-facing speakers. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3, a USB-C port, and a microSD slot.

Pricing and availability

The AYANEO Pocket DS is available now on Indiegogo, starting at $399 for the base 8GB + 128GB model in the early bird offer. The higher-tier 12/256GB, 16/512GB, and 16GB/1TB models retail for $399, $499, and $599. It is available in Starry Night Yellow and Shadow Black. A special Retro Gray edition of the Pocket DS is available for $639.

OnePlus 13 Gets OxygenOS 15.0.0.850: BeaconLink, Private Safe Upgrades, Security Patch

OnePlus has started the incremental rollout of OxygenOS 15.0.0.850 for the OnePlus 13 (Review). The update, version CPH2649_15.0.0.850(EX01), is currently live in India and will expand to more users in the coming days.

The update improves animations when opening, resizing, and moving floating windows, making multitasking smoother.

Private Safe has received several upgrades. Users can now share images and videos directly from it, customize album covers, sort media by time, and add files under the “Other files” category.

Split View is now more flexible. Instead of fixed ratios, users can adjust the divider between two apps as needed. In landscape mode, two apps can be resized by dragging the divider. Recent tasks also get an improvement, allowing users to change an app’s lock status by swiping down on it when tasks are stacked.

Notifications in landscape mode have been redesigned. All alerts now show as simplified banners to reduce interruptions. Swiping down on a banner opens the app in a floating window. Tapping a button on the banner also opens the app in a floating window rather than full screen. The position of banner notifications has been adjusted to reduce distractions.

The update introduces BeaconLink, a feature that lets users send text, image, and voice messages to nearby devices without internet. BeaconLink can be accessed through Settings > Mobile network > BeaconLink.

The system has also been updated with the August 2025 Android security patch, enhancing overall security.

Like all OnePlus updates, the rollout is incremental. In India, users can now report device issues more easily through the Bug Report section in the OnePlus Community app or by dialing *#800# to access the feedback tool.

Huawei sues Transsion once again over patent dispute

Huawei has taken legal action against Transsion Holdings, the company behind smartphone brands Tecno and Infinix, accusing it of patent infringement in Europe.

The case was filed in the Unified Patent Court’s Munich division. Huawei is asserting its European patent EP2725797, which reportedly covers video decoding technology aimed at improving playback quality. Weibo tipster Fixed Focus Digital suggests the technology has been used without authorization in some Transsion devices.

If Huawei succeeds, the ruling could result in licensing fees, financial penalties, or even sales restrictions for Tecno and Infinix phones across Europe, a key market for Transsion’s international growth.

This is not the first dispute between the two Chinese smartphone makers. Back in 2019, Huawei accused Transsion of using its intellectual property without permission and sought damages of 20 million yuan (about $2 million). That case was eventually settled.

Transsion, which has built its reputation as the leading smartphone vendor in Africa, has been expanding into mid-range and premium segments in Europe and Asia. Huawei, meanwhile, continues to emphasize its intellectual property portfolio, recently highlighting its camera advances with the Pura 80 Ultra.

Hearings in the current case are expected in the coming months. Any ruling by the Unified Patent Court would apply across multiple European countries, making the outcome significant for both companies.
