Infinix launched the Infinix S5 here in India. It is the first handset from the Chinese smartphone manufacturer to feature a punch-hole display and a quad-camera setup at the rear. The other highlights of the device include a higher screen-to-body ratio, gradient finish, a large battery and a dedicated microSD card slot. Infinix has included AI battery management that adjusts power consumption according to usage history and restrains background processes to optimize battery life.

Realme, the smartphone maker backed by OPPO, recently launched its first premium smartphone — Realme X2 Pro in China. With this launch, the company has now entered the premium smartphone segment.
Recently, it was confirmed that the Realme X2 Pro will get launched in India by December this year. Well, we won’t have to wait much longer as the company has now revealed the phone’s launch date.
Now, Madhav Sheth, CEO of Realme India has announced that the Realme X2 Pro flagship smartphone will be launching in India on 20th November. The launch event will take place at 12:30 PM in New Delhi and we also expect the company to live stream the event on its social media accounts.
Coming to the specifications of the Realme X2 Pro, the smartphone flaunts a 6.5-inch Full HD+ AMOLED display with waterdrop notch and offers screen resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels that carries support for 90Hz refresh rate. The smartphone promises a screen-to-body ratio of 91.7 percent.

WIPO short for World Intellectual Property Organisation is one of the world’s largest consortium for filing and granting patents. According to a report originating from the organisation, in the year 2018, China’s application for patents reached a record 1.54 million — this number is nearly half of all the patent applications filed worldwide. Redmi has officially announced that the company is entering a cooperation agreement with AMD and under this agreement, the company will be launching its first AMD-powered laptop, i.e. RedmiBook Ryzen Edition on 21st October in China.
Now, the company has taken to Weibo to reveal more details about this upcoming RedmiBook. It confirms that the laptop will be powered by the AMD Ryzen 5 3500U chipset and the top-end model will pack AMD Ryzen 7 3700U processor.

After being shunned by a slew of countries out of fears its equipment may facilitate Chinese government spying, telecom giant Huawei, represented by CEO Jay Chen said on Monday that the company is willing to sign up to a “no backdoor” agreement with India.
The comments, made by the company’s India CEO Jay Chen to Reuters on the sidelines of the ongoing India Mobile Congress, comes as the South Asian nation readies itself for a rollout of next-generation 5G mobile networks.
“From the very beginning, I have confidence that Indian industry, the India market will welcome Huawei because I have contributed a lot with my unique value,” Chen said. “I am ready to sign [a no-backdoor agreement].”
“If [the Indian] government wants, we are open to having the source codes in an escrow account,” Chen said, adding that the company was also willing to manufacture more of its telecoms gear locally.
Indian telecom carriers Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea have used Huawei, as well as its European rivals Nokia and Ericsson, to build their 2G, 3G and 4G networks and have previously underscored the importance of having all three players in India to maintain competition, price and service quality.
India has the second-most internet users of any country in the world, behind China. That number is expected to rise 11% to 627 million people in 2019, according to market research firm Kantar IMRB. The vast majority access the web on mobile devices, and scoring the deal would be a huge win for Huawei.

Recently, a new report from Counterpoint claimed that the market share of HarmonyOS will reach 2 percent globally next year, making it the world’s fifth largest operating system, surpassing Linux. It further points that the share of HongMeng OS in China will reach 0.1 percent by the end of this year and 5 percent by the end of next year.
HarmonyOS, announced earlier this year in August, can support a wide range of applications including Android, Linux, and HTML5 in the future. The new operating system uses Huawei’s ARK compiler and will support Kotlin, Java, Javascript, C, and C++ programming languages. It will also have a verified Trusted Execution Environment for a better connected security across multiple devices.
Huawei had said that it began working on this operating system back in 2017 and is currently in version 1.0 with Version 2.0 scheduled for launch next year and version 3.0 release is planned for the year 2021.

Recent reports have revealed that Vivo’s iQOO gaming smartphone wing is gearing up to introduce a new smartphone. Rumors are rife that it could be called iQOO Lite or iQOO Neo Pro and it has a model number of V1936A. A new Weibo post by iQOO teases the arrival of the upcoming iQOO phone. The V1936A smartphone has also been benchmarked on AnTuTu through which its key specs have been leaked.
At the end of the previous month, a Chinese tipster had claimed an iQOO phone with support for 33W fast charging could be arriving in the near future. Next, the Vivo V1936A phone was spotted on the database of China’s 3C authority with a charger that supported up to 33W fast charging. Hence, it is being speculated that the alleged iQOO Lite has V1936A model number.
A Geekbench listing of the Vivo V1936A was spotted last week. It revealed that the Android 9 Pie OS driven phone has Snapdragon 855 chipset and 8 GB of RAM onboard. It had recorded 3516 and 11262 scores respectively in the single-core and multi-core tests of Geekbench.

After months of teasing, leaks, and rumors, Google finally launched the all-new Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL flagship smartphones at a press event in New York. However, the smartphones won’t get launched in India — one of the leading smartphone markets in the world.
The major reason behind Google not launching the newly announced Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL in India is a new feature on the device named Project Soli. It is a radar-based motion-sensing chip integrated into the smartphones that uses 60GHz mmWave frequency band.
While Google has managed to get required permission to use the above mentioned frequency bands in several countries, India is not in the list. As per the report, the company failed to secure permission from the local authority in India to use this frequency band, which the nation has yet to open for commercial usage.
In a statement, a Google spokesperson said, “Google has a wide range of products that we make available in different regions around the world. We determine availability based on a variety of factors, including local trends, and product features. We decided not to make Pixel 4 available in India. We remain committed to our current Pixel phones and look forward to bringing future Pixel devices to India.”
The radar sensors on the new Pixel smartphones enable support for a number of human interactions. Sabrina Ellis, VP of Product Management at Google, claimed that Pixel 4 has the fastest secure face unlock on a smartphone, “because the process starts before you have even picked up the smartphone.” She further added that Motion sense prepares the camera when user reaches for the Pixel 4, thus there’s no need to tap the screen. It also enables hands-free gesture controls on the smartphone.
It’s noteworthy that this is the first time Google is skipping the launch of Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL smartphones in India. Prior to this, all the Nexus series phones and Pixel series phones had made their way to to the Indian market, days after their global launch.
The Google Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL are available in Just Black, Clearly White, and Oh So Orange (Limited Edition) color options. Realme X2 Pro adopts a classic waterdrop design, so it is nothing special if we only consider the aesthetics. But it still offers a premium build quality due to its glass back paired with an aluminum frame. But Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro has a more innovative and beautiful form factor that consists of a notch-less display and a motorized pop-up front camera. Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro is even a more compact handset than X2 Pro, that is what makes me prefer it even more. On the other hand, Realme X2 Pro comes with a taller aspect ratio and a glass back which I consider slightly more elegant. But it is all about taste.
Display
Despite the affordable price, Oppo decided to equip the Realme X2 Pro with a flagship-class display. The handset boasts a 90 Hz refresh rate just like a top-tier flagship, the support to HDR10+ technology and even full DCI-P3 coverage. Just in case it is not enough, its peak brightness is astonishing: it reaches up to 1000 nits. There is no way for Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro to compete, but it still has a pretty nice display with the support of the standard HDR technology. Note that Realme X2 Pro offers a taller aspect ratio, but the display size is more or less the same. Both have an optical in-display fingerprint reader.
Specs & Software
Realme X2 Pro beats Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro again when it comes to the hardware side. It is fueled by the successor of the Snapdragon 855 chipset found on the Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro, so it is a lot more powerful. We are talking about the Snapdragon 855+ which comes with a higher 2.96 GHz clock frequency and offers 15 percent higher graphics performance. Further, in its two most expensive variants, the X2 Pro offers faster UFS 3.0 storage, while Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro. X2 Pro also comes in a version with 12 GB of RAM, unlike the Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro. A lot of people prefer the user interface of the Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro to the Color OS found on the Realme X2 Pro, but we think it is a compromise you can accept for such a hardware department. Another better feature of the Realme X2 Pro is its dual speakers with Dolby Atmos and Hi-Res ratio (Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro has a traditional mono speaker).
Camera
On the paper, Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro offers a higher-end camera module. It sports laser autofocus and a Sony 48 MP sensor paired with a telephoto lens and an ultrawide lens. X2 Pro offers one more camera (the depth sensor) but likely it will never reach the same photo quality as the Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro. Realme X2 Pro and Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro are not high-end camera phones, despite their high resolutions. If you want the best cameras, you should not go for these devices, despite you can get decent shots in low-light conditions and a lot of detail.
Both Realme X2 Pro and Xiaomi Mi 9T Pro have the same battery capacity and components with similar energy consumption, so it is very hard to establish which one may offer the longest battery life. It will mostly depend on software optimization. Realme X2 Pro has a much faster charging technology: it charges up to 80 percent in just 30 minutes thanks to its 50W SuperVOOC flash charge technology. The Google Home Mini finally has a successor but it isn’t called the Home Mini 2 but the Nest Mini. While the name is different, the design hasn’t technically changed.

Google announced a new pair of earphones today.
