Samsung Galaxy Note 10 Lite said to be the affordable Note 10 model in the works

Samsung has been reported to be working on a new Galaxy Note model. The model is expected to bring along affordability in its pricing compared to the high-end Galaxy Note series that usually comes with a premium price tag. A few more details of the Galaxy Note model has emerged and you might want to take a look.samsung galaxy note 10 and samsung galaxy note 10 plus

The device is said to bear the moniker Galaxy Note 10 Lite. As a result of it bearing the Galaxy Note 10 name, the device may get released any moment from now, certainly before the release of the Galaxy S11 next year.

The Galaxy Note 10 Lite is said to bear the model number SM-N770F. The device comes in two different colour options – black and red. If this is true, it will be the third Galaxy Note model this year after the Note 10 and Note 10+ were launched a couple of months earlier. The Galaxy Note 10 starts at $949 and that can’t be said to be affordable. Perhaps, to remove the toga of an elitist model off the Note series, this affordable Note 10 Lite is being introduced.

However, we really can’t say how affordable it will be since there is no clue as to what the tech giant will trim off the Note 10 to qualify it as a Lite version. We do hope, though, that the company retain the S Pen support which is one feature the Galaxy Note models are known for. What do you think about a cheaper Note 10 model? Are you excited or not? Let us know in the comment section.

Blackview BV9800 Series hits Kickstarter next week with a huge Giveaway (video)

Users think that rugged phones and good cameras don’t mix well and that’s not entirely wrong as most rugged smartphones come with mediocre camera capabilities. Blackview is about to change that with its new BV9800 Series that comes equipped with 3 top-notch cameras: a thermal camera for detecting heat and forming a thermal image, a Sony® 48MP camera for capturing stunning moments, as well as a thermal-image assisted camera.

According to the Chinese manufacturer, the BV9800 Pro is created for serious adventurers and, in a way, the owner invites mystery, thrill, and safety to a journey. The first killer feature, -the thermal camera- It can become life-saving in certain circumstances. By detecting heat, it helps you increase situational awareness and safety. For example, when camping out alone, you can use it to detect wild animals around so you can take measures before they approach and attack you.

The thermal camera can become handy for wildlife photographers as many animals are naturally camouflaged and very hard to see with a naked eye, even when they’re in plain sight. Using the thermal camera, the photographer can spot an animal’s heat (unless hidden by foliage or behind terrain) and know where to point the camera to take a photo. With the exact position of the animal known, you can change the lens to the Sony® 48MP camera to capture photos of animals in their natural environments. It can even work in the dark.

Speaking about the Sony® 48MP rear camera, it is the second killer feature of BV9800 Pro. Among many low-pixel cameras in rugged phones, the BV9800 Pro has an advantage as it is able to capture great details even on close-up shots. And the night-shot mode tracks low-light and night time photography effortlessly.

Blackview BV9800 SeriesThe BV9800 Pro is easy to carry around despite its 322g weight. After all, it is a flagship rugged phone and armoring a smartphone isn’t exactly a piece of cake. So, if you are on the hunt for the absolute best rugged smartphone right now, the BV9800 Pro is a one-way road. Durability, high performance, and the top camera setup in a rugged smartphone, BV9800 Pro is the best choice to date.

Blackview BV9800 Series

The Blackview BV9800 Series will land on Kickstarter crowdfunding platform on October 18th and the company is already running a huge Giveaway to recruit 10 testers to help with testing devices and give feedback to engineers. Everyone can have a chance to become a trial user by just participating. You can find out more about the activity here.

Samsung Galaxy A91 leaks, features very impressive specs sheet

Samsung’s working hard on the Galaxy Note 10 Lite and Galaxy S11 Lite but these aren’t the only new mid-range devices it’s preparing. The company is reportedly developing a new phone dubbed the Galaxy A91, although its leaked specs sheet suggests it’ll be far from your typical mid-ranger.

According to information received by SamMobile, the Galaxy A91 will be just as powerful as Samsung’s Galaxy S10 and Galaxy Note 10 flagships. That’s because it’ll feature Qualcomm’s high-end Snapdragon 855 which is also used in a range of competing devices such as the OnePlus 7 Pro. It’s a bizarre move, but one that could be very successful.

Around the back, the A91 is rumored to keep the same 48MP F/2.0 main camera but with a 12MP ultrawide sensor in place of the 8MP camera found on the A90. The third shooter will likely be a depth sensor. The front camera will remain at 32MP but will come with a faster F/2.2 aperture.

The battery capacity will stay at 4500 mAh but the A91 will benefit from the added 45W fast charge support. That being said, it remains to be seen if it will actually come with this charger in the box or if Samsung will have us buy it separately as it does for the Galaxy Note 10+, though chances are it’ll be separate.

The entire Galaxy A91 setup looks set to be completed by a USB-C port along the bottom, support for Bluetooth 5.0 and NFC, and an in-display optical fingerprint scanner. Unfortunately, it seems like there’s no 3.5mm headphone jack on the device, which is simply a shame. Outside of that, it’s looking like an extremely well rounded device.

The Samsung Galaxy A91 will probably be announced in early 2020, perhaps at MWC in late February alongside some other Galaxy A (2020) models. This is because it’s allegedly being developed with Android 10 and the newest version of One UI pre-installed – Samsung typically debuts its latest software releases on Galaxy S flagships in February.

Redmi 8 vs Samsung Galaxy M10s vs Realme C2: Specs Comparison

The Redmi 8 series is very hot because it brings on the market two devices with very balanced specifications even though they are sold in the lowest price range. But is the new Redmi 8 really the best choice if you want to spend just €100/$110 for a smartphone? You can find it out by reading this specs comparison against two entry-level which are catalyzing a lot of attention in the last period, especially in the Asian market: Samsung Galaxy M10s and Realme C2. We will explain all the differences and tell you which one we think has the highest value for money.

Design

The new Aura Mirror design scheme of the Redmi 8 is definitely very attractive. It adopts a camera module placed at the center of the back cover alongside the Redmi logo placed vertically and a reflective back with suggestive light effects. It is surely the most interesting, despite it is made of plastic just like its rivals. Some may like the Realme C2 more since it has a more minimalistic design. But the Redmi 8 is also splash resistant with the P2i hydrophobic coating, while Realme C2 is not. Note that Realme C2 lacks a fingerprint reader, while Redmi 8 and Samsung Galaxy M10s have a rear-mounted biometric sensor.

Display

The Samsung Galaxy M10s is one of the few entry-level smartphones to sport an AMOLED display, and it definitely deserves the first place in the display comparison. It shows more brilliant colors and deeper blacks, even though the resolution is the same as Redmi 8 and Realme C2. Samsung Galaxy M10s also offers another important advantage: it has a larger display diagonal, that is excellent for people who want a comfortable phone for multimedia and productivity. So if you want the best display, go for the Galaxy M10s.

Specs & Software

Redmi 8 wins the hardware comparison because it comes with a more reliable SoC and a better memory configuration. It is equipped with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage, while Realme C2 offers max 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of native storage. There is a micro SD dedicated slot in each case, but it is not the same as having more internal storage. Android 9 Pie is installed out of the box.

Camera

Due to its pretty nice primary sensor and the presence of an ultrawide sensor, I personally prefer the Samsung Galaxy M10s if we consider camera departments. Currently, it is not easy to find an ultrawide sensor on an entry-level phone with a so affordable price tag. Further, the main camera has a bright aperture and it behaves well in most of the conditions. In the second place, we got the Redmi 8 which still comes with a bright focal aperture, but it lacks the ultrawide sensor. Realme C2 is inferior and we are talking about both the rear and front camera setup.

Battery

The real battery champion here is the Redmi 8 for the most simple reason: it sports a much bigger battery. And it even supports 18W fast charging. If you do not stress it too much, you can get up to three days of battery life on a single charge.

Price

You can grab a unit of the Redmi 8 for just €100/$110, Samsung Galaxy M10s starts from €115/$127, and Realme C2 starts from €95/$105. Note that the above-mentioned prices are referred to as the Redmi 8 with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage, the Realme C2 in the 2/16 GB configuration and the Galaxy M10s with 3/32 GB. With the actual prices, the Redmi 8 is an overall better smartphone due to its higher amount of RAM and storage, as well as a bigger battery. But Samsung Galaxy M10s still deserves an award due to its great display, bigger display size, and ultrawide camera.

5G smartphones sale could surpass 1 billion by 2025 – Strategy Analytics

A new research report by Strategy Analytics has forecasted a surge in the number of 5G smartphones by 2020. The report also projects that 5G phone sales by 2025 could surpass 1billion units globally as more affordable 5G phones get launched.5G Logo

There is no argument that the entire tech industry is heading into the ear of 5G and soon, we may start seeing affordable 5G phones. Presently, 5G phones account for just 1% of the market but the research firm predicts that will rise to 10% by 2020 as more consumers migrate to 5G phones.

According to a statement by Ville-Petteri Ukonaho, senior analyst at Strategy Analytics, “All major smartphone vendors including Apple are developing 5G handsets and will many more devices will launch in 2020.” Presently, Samsung is the market leader in 5G smartphones with strong sales in the U.S. and its home country of South Korea, where 1 million people signed up for service in the first 70 days of the rollout. But SA thinks China will be a key growth market for 5G smartphone sales as the country prioritizes rapid development of the high-speed 5G mobile networks. “The ability of the industry to deliver lower-cost 5G smartphones will be critical to allow China to reach this goal next year,” Ken Hyers, director of emerging device strategies at Strategy Analytics, said in a statement.

Since Samsung first relaunched the Galaxy Fold in South Korea and then the US, the company has been unveiling the device in several markets across the world. The device has also been launched in India and is on pre-registration in Australia and the UAE. The company will soon launch the flagship foldable phone in Japan. Samsung Galaxy Fold

The Galaxy Fold only went on sale in South Korea on October 2. That is because available quantities are limited.  Despite the over $2000 price tag, demand for the foldable device has been pretty high. We expect the price in Japan to revolve around the $2k mark.

As a reminder, the Galaxy Fold features a 7.3-inch Infinity Flex Display on the inside and a 4.6-inch Super AMOLED panel on the outside. The design saw some improvements to ensure it is pretty durable.Samsung Galaxy Fold Three-App Multitasking

The Samsung Galaxy Fold packs a total of six cameras and is powered by a Snapdragon 855, coupled with 12 GB RAM and 512GB of storage. Keeping the lights on is a 4,380 mAh battery but the 5G model has a slightly lesser 4,235mAh battery due to the internal architecture.

Google Pixelbook Go leaks in its full glory ahead of Oct 15 Launch

Google is about to launch a wide variety of products at its upcoming “Made By Google” event which is scheduled for the 15th of October. However, it is having a hard time to keep them under wraps. Both the Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL have leaked on several instances, extensively revealing their design and specifications.

Now, the Pixelbook Go which is supposed to be unveiled at the same event has come out in the open revealing its design, features and specifications. Right off the bat, the ultrabook/laptop draws a lot of inspiration from Apple’s MacBook with a couple of distinctive elements.

While Apple’s MacBook runs on macOS which is full-fledged desktop-grade operating system, the Pixelbook Go runs on ChromeOS which is considerably lightweight OS and is designed for running web applications. Due to cross-compatibility with Android, users can download a wide variety of applications from the Play Store on their Pixelbook which is another advantage of the OS.

Returning to the design of the Pixelbook GO, it features a well-spaced island-style keyboard which is flanked by loudspeakers on either side. Above the keyboard is where the Pixelbook branding will be placed while below the keyboard, we have a wide glass trackpad that supports multi-touch gestures.

The Pixelbook Go has a ribbed back which not only looks elegant but also provides a sturdy grip. In terms of ports, the Chromebook features a 3.5 mm headphone jack and two USB C ports which are expected to both support charging and video-out functionality.

The device is equipped with a 13.3-inch touchscreen display with 16:9 aspect ration and customers will be able to choose between a Full HD or 4K “Molecular Display”. It features a 2 MP front-facing camera which also supports 1080p video at 60 fps.

In terms of process, the customers can configure the Pixelbook Go with one out of three options which include Intel Core m3, i5, or i7. In terms of memory or storage, users can choose 8 GB or 16 GB of RAM and 64GB, 128GB, or 256GB of ROM. Besides, the Chromebook will also be equipped with Titan C chip which will be used to securely store sensitive user data like passwords.

It will be offered in two colour options which include “Just Black” and “Not Pink”. All in all, this seems like a worthy laptop for users who mostly work within a web browser. Besides, the wide selection of applications from the Play Store will keep the rest covered.

In order to confirm the leaks and obtain information like its price and availability detail, we will have to wait until its official launch date. As previously mentioned, it will be announced alongside the Pixel 4 smartphones and Pixel Watch on the 15th of October.

Xcentz USB C to Lightning Cable for the iPhone 11 and other iOS devices review

Xcentz has been known to produce high-quality cables and other tech-related products for years. In fact, I’ve been using cables for months and I think they bring a lot of value for the price. The brand new USB C to Lightning cable has been working really well with my iPhone 11 Pro. Learn more in our review.

UNBOXING

The cable ships in quite a simple box and inside of it you get the cable itself and some paperwork.

DESIGN, FEATURES AND FUNCTIONALITY

The cable sports excellent build quality. It also has solid metal connectors that don’t seem to break anytime soon.

Xcentz used premium zinc alloy which is way stronger than traditional aluminum alloy. Further, you can always keep the cable folded neatly thanks to the supplied velcro cable management strap.

Another key selling point – a durable braided nylon cable that also looks really nice. In fact, the cable can hold up to 175 pounds (80 KG), which is quite impressive.

Further, the cable can withstand over 30,000 bends which are way more than the traditional cable that can withstand about 6000 bends.

This cable supports Power Delivery (PD) fast charging.

That means you can use this cable with your USB-C PD charger (including Apple 18W, 29W, 30W, 61W, or 87W USB-C Power Delivery charger) to charge your iOS device, and get fast charging for iPhone 11/11 Pro/11 Pro Max/XS Max/XS/XR/X/8/8 Plus, iPads, and later models.

It’s worth noting that the cable is Apple MFi Certified, which means it has the best security chips inside.

Each cable contains an authorization chip (C94) issued by Apple to ensure 100% compatibility with Apple iOS devices.

The cable comes in a variety of colors including blue, red, black and silver. I have the blue one which looks really nice.

The cable also works well with syncing as I had no issues transferring data from my phone to the laptop. I’ve tested the cables with different phones and laptops and they’ve been working without any issues.

All in all, this Xcentz cable is one of the best you can get for your iOS device. Just like their USB-C lineup of cables, this one offers the highest quality for the price and we can definitely recommend you as we use these cables ourselves.

New Xiaomi Mi Note 10 phone may launch by October end

In January 2015, Xiaomi had launched its first ever Mi Note and Mi Note Pro flagship phones. The Mi Note 2 was announced with the first Mi MIX smartphone in October 2016. After the Mi Note 3 phone was made official in September 2017, Xiaomi hasn’t launched any new Mi Note series phone. In June this year, Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun had stated that the company won’t be launching Mi Note and Mi Max series of smartphones. However, a reliable tipster from China has claimed that Xiaomi may resurrect the Mi Note series by launching the Mi Note 10 flagship phone by the end of October.

Unfortunately, the tipster has not revealed any details on the specifications of the Xiaomi Mi Note 10. While the first and second-generation Mi Note phones were packed with flagship specs, the Mi Note 3 was an upper-midrange phone. Nonetheless, the Mi Note 10 is expected to debut as a flagship device. Hence, it is likely to feature the Snapdragon 855+ SoC.

Recent reports by XDA Developers have revealed MIUI 11 beta includes a code for a refresh rate display setting that provides options to switch between 60Hz and 120Hz. Hence, it appears Xiaomi may launch a smartphone with 120Hz refresh rate in the near future. It remains to be seen whether the mysterious phone with 90Hz refresh rate will have an OLED or LCD panel.

The publication has also claimed that the source code of MIUI 11 has references like “tele 5x” and “ultra tele” along with a description that reads “use 50x zoom to capture distant objects in greater detail.” These findings indicate that there could be a Xiaomi smartphone that may offer photography features like 5x optical zoom and 50x digital zoom. Scouring through MIUI 11 has also revealed that possibly the same smartphone can capture 8K resolution videos at 30fps.

It remains to be seen whether the rumored Mi Note 10 could be equipped with 120Hz refresh rate display with camera capabilities like 5x optical zoom, 50x digital zoom and 8K video recording at 30fps. Readers are advised to wait for further reports to learn more on the specs of the Mi Note 10 smartphone.

Xiaomi is developing a smartphone with 5X telephoto and 50X digital zoom reveals MIUI 11 source code

Update

The MIUI 11 source code has also revealed that Xiaomi is developing a smartphone with 120 Hz refresh rate display. A couple of screenshots of the same have been listed below. As of now, it cannot be confirmed whether this handset will be same as the one with 5X telephoto zoom. However, taking into consideration that both these features will first be seen on a high-end device, it wont be wrong to assume that this will indeed be the same handset.

In comparison to a 60 Hz rate display seen on most modern handsets, a smartphone with a 90Hz or 120Hz refresh rate provides for a much more fluid viewing experience. Users who have used display panels with a higher refresh rate report to have a laggy experience when switching back to standard panels. A couple of handsets that are equipped with such displays include Asus ROG Phone 2, OnePlus 7 Pro, OnePlus 7T lineup, Oppo Reno Ace. Besides the upcoming Pixel 4 Lineup and the Realme XT Pro have been leaked to have a higher refresh rate display. Noteworthy, out of all the devices listed above, the only smartphone with a 120 Hz refresh rate display is the ROG Phone 2.

All in all, it is highly likely that Xiaomi embraces this technology in one of its upcoming smartphones.

Original Story

Last month, Xiaomi unveiled the latest version of its custom Android skin which is dubbed MIUI 11. While going through its source code, a member of team XDA has discovered the keyword “Tele 5X” and keyword “ultra tele” which is accompanied by description “use 50X zoom to capture distant objects in greater detail”. These findings suggest Xiaomi is developing a smartphone with 5X optical zoom and 50X digital zoom, making it the third Chinese company to do so.

Huawei P30 Pro featured
Huawei P30 Pro with 50X zoom support

Earlier this year, Huawei launched the photography centric P30 Pro which is the first handset to support 5X optical zoom and 50X digital zoom. The device is able to attain this remarkable level zoom with the help of a periscopic camera module. Soon after its launch, Oppo also unveiled the Reno 10x that is equipped with a similar periscopic camera sensor and that also supports 5X optical zoom and 50X digital zoom.

Coming back to the source code of MIUI 11, it was previously revealed that Xiaomi is working on a smartphone that will be able to capture 8K videos at 30fps. Presumably, this may be the same device that will support the remarkable zoom capabilities we had previously talked about.

Unfortunately, any details except for the existence of such a Xiaomi smartphone are currently unavailable. Therefore, it is hard to divulge whether Xiaomi will also implement the periscopic module on its smartphone or come up with its very own piece of technology. Nonetheless, it could incorporate the 108 MP Samsung made sensor which is also found on the Mi Mix Alpha. The extremely high resolution of this sensor would allow the details to be preserved even when shooting with 8X digital zoom.

The implementation of the technology is assumed to be fairly simple as the hurdles of developing the components as already been overcome by Oppo and Huawei, therefore, Xiaomi could launch a device with this technology in the coming months. However, we will have to wait until an official announcement is made.

New Samsung patent hints at triple front cameras on Galaxy S11 series

Samsung had unveiled different types of display notches, including the punch-hole design, which became mainstream with the Samsung Galaxy S10 series. Now, the company is expected to go a step further with the upcoming Galaxy S11 lineup.

The South Korean giant has filed a new patent application in which the smartphone is sporting three camera sensors housed inside the punch-hole display on the front side. The patent has been granted to the company by the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) relating to an updated punch-hole design.

Samsung Galaxy S11 Front Patent

The Galaxy S10+ and Galaxy S10 5G launched earlier this year come with dual camera sensors in the punch-hole design so it would make sense for Samsung to increase the number of sensors on next year’s premium devices in order to stay ahead of the competition.

The current generation smartphone comes with a regular selfie camera as well as a dedicated depth sensor for improved portrait shots. If the company retains both the sensors, the additional third sensor on the upcoming Galaxy S11 series could be an ultra-wide-angle selfie camera.

The company could also ditch the dedicated depth sensor and instead opt for two new sensors that work together to achieve some sort of 3D facial recognition system capable, similar to Apple‘s Face ID and Huawei‘s 3D Face Unlock.

Samsung Galaxy S11 Render

The patent also hints at impressively thin bezels which makes sense for the next year’s flagship smartphones given that most smartphone makers are now aiming to offer the maximum screen-to-body ratio on their premium devices.

We expect that the Galaxy S11+ model will feature triple front-facing cameras while the standard Galaxy S11 will have a dual-camera setup on the front that may incorporate the ultra-wide-angle camera.

As for the smaller and cheaper Galaxy S11e, the phone is expected to stick to a single selfie sensor as its main competition at launch will be the iPhone 11 which also incorporates one front-facing camera.

However, do note that there’s no confirmation that the patented design is for the upcoming Galaxy S11 series smartphones. As per the reports, the Samsung Galaxy S11 series will be announced at an Unpacked event on Tuesday, February 18, ahead of MWC 2020.
