Huami, the company backed by Xiaomi, is widely known for making the popular Mi Band series fitness trackers and Amazfit smartwatches. It’s been just a couple of months since the Mi Band 4 got launched and now Huami has started working on its successor.
During a Q&A session after Huami’s Q2 2019 earnings call, the company was asked if it will continue to cooperate with Xiaomi in the future and will make the Mi Band 5 as well. In response to that, the company’s founder and chairman Wang Huang said: “We are actually developing Mi-Band 5 with Xiaomi.”
Wang has confirmed that the work for the development of the upcoming Mi Band 5 fitness tracker has already started. He also revealed that the device could get launched sometime next year. He said: “We do not have – we do not have a fixed time when we’re going to launch Mi-Band 5. But I would say that we have already started working on Mi-Band 5 with Xiaomi and it’s not going to take that long. So we just launched Mi-Band 4, but potentially toward the [Indecipherable] of next year, we may launch Mi-Band 5.”
The Xiaomi Mi Band series fitness trackers have been hugely popular because of its budget price tag and tons of features. When the Mi Band 4 went on sale in June this year, its sales hit the 1 million mark in just 8 days.
The Mi Band 4 comes with a 39.9% bigger display than its predecessor and is now using AMOLED color screen, which is protected by a 2.5D scratch-resistant tempered glass. It is water-resistant up to 5ATM (50 meters) and sports an upgraded 6-axis high-precision sensor to intelligently recognize different type of swimming strokes including Freestyle, Backstroke, Butterfly stroke, and Medley.
It can also track six different sport modes like indoor running, outdoor running, exercise, swimming, cycling, and walking. The device comes with support for Xiao AI voice assistant which can be used for controlling Xiaomi’s IoT products.
XiaoAi assistant comes up when you lift up the band, so lifting your wrist lets you play music, set the schedules. On top of that, you can even set all these to work with voice commands. With the NFC variant, it can also be used to make payments using WeChat Pay and Alipay, among others.
As for the pricing, the NFC model of the Mi Band 4 costs 229 yuan (~$33) while the standard variant is priced at 169 yuan (~$25). The device went on sale in China in June this year but the company has not revealed details about global availability.
Earlier today, it was reported that Meizu had applied for a trademark for “Meizu UR”. The application was filed back in early August and was initially believed to be a new line of high-end smartphones. However, a new report says it isn’t a new line.
According to ITHome, Meizu UR is a mobile customization service which will allow users to choose how they want their phone to look. Proof of this is a leaked webpage of the service.
The Meizu UR service will not only allow you to customize how the phone looks but also what is on the inside, at least that is what the text on the page translates too. So it is practically a user building his/her dream phone. We wonder though, how will they handle updates and software support for individually made phones? Expect any phone you build to cost more than a similarly specced device from another manufacturer.
More details about Meizu UR are expected to surface in the coming days leading to the official unveiling. But before then, we want to know what you think about this? Will you pay more for a custom-made mobile phone?

TCL is the licensee for Alcatel and BlackBerry. While it has announced a bunch of new Alcatel phones this year, it hasn’t announced any new BlackBerry models and neither have the other licensees too.
Yesterday, the product map for the Chinese company, which is best known for its TVs in markets like the US, leaked. Although there are no new BlackBerry models on the list, there are a couple of interesting devices including a foldable tablet.
The product map was shared on Twitter by Evan Blass and it covers devices planned to be released over the next 4 quarters.
TCL T1
First on the list is the TCL T1, a smartphone with triple rear cameras and a punch-hole display TCL has dubbed “Dotch Display”. The phone is said to arrive as early as next month at IFA 2019. Evan Blass even shared another image revealing more details about the phone.
The TCL T1 will have a 6.53” FHD+ Dotch™ Display with a 90% screen-to-body ratio. The hole in the screen is at the top left corner and is home to a 24MP sensor. It will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 675 processor and paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage.
The three cameras on the rear are a 48MP primary sensor, a 16MP 123° super-wide-angle camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. The cameras are arranged horizontally like that of the LG G8S ThinQ and there is an LED flash flanking the setup on each side.
The TCL T1 also has a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner, a 3820mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging and will run TCL UI based on Android Pie out of the box. TCL even says it will get updated to Android Q by FOTA. The phone also has a USB Type-C port. Based on the images, we know the phone will be available in black and white color variants. It will also be priced between €299 and €399.
TCL T1 Pro
TCL will follow the T1 with a pro version in the first quarter of 2020. The TCL T1 Pro will have what TCL calls an Edge AMOLED display. It will also have quad-rear cameras and be priced between €399 and €499.
TCL T1 Pro 5G and TCL T1 5G
In Q2 and Q3 2020, TCL will release 5G variants of the TCL T1 and TCL T1 Pro. While the T1 Pro 5G seems to only add 5G connectivity, the T1 actually loses a camera sensor to settle for dual rear cameras. Both phones will have their price tags between €499 and €599.
TCL FLEXTAB
TCL will also announce the TCL FLEXTAB in the third quarter of 2020. This device will have a flexible AMOLED display that fold inwards. The tablet will have a price tag over €1299.

On the back, the cameras are lined up vertically in a black housing that sticks out like a sore thumb against the pink body. There is an LED flash flanking the cameras on the left. Inscribed along the back is the manufacturer’s name and the words “Designed for RENO”.

As expected, Huami has officially announced that it will launch a new Amazfit smartwatch next Tuesday, i.e. August 27. The company’s executive had teased this watch earlier confirming that it will have striking similarities to the Apple Watch series.
The theme of the new Amazfit smartwatch launch conference is Run, Amazfit! Run! It’s clear that this tagline is inspired by the movie Forrest Gump and hints that it will be yet another fitness-centric smartwatch. Unfortunately, the teaser doesn’t reveal anything more about the upcoming device.
However, thanks to the invites sent to the media as well as an official render shared by Huami’s VP, we know for sure that this new Amazfit watch will take on the Apple Watch series.
Huami’s New Watch with high PPI and pink strap
He further revealed that Huami has managed to beat Apple Watch’s 326 PPI screen by incorporating an even better 341 PPI AMOLED display on its new watch. It will feature a square design similar to the Apple Watch series and is expected to be covered with 2.5D glass. The battery life is said to extend to more than 10 days in regular mode. Plus, it will be cheaper than the Apple Watch.
It’s quite clear that Huami is directly targeting the Apple Watch lineup with its new Amazfit model. However, there are rumors that we might see one more round watch at the event on August 27. But we don’t have any details on that.
At the unveil event of the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro flagship phones earlier this year, Huawei had also announced its first smart glasses in collaboration with well-known South Korean eyewear firm called Gentle Monster. At that time, the Huawei had only revealed the features of its eyewear. It was expected to hit the market by June or July.
The Huawei x Gentle Monster smart glasses is now officially listed. It comes in two models with the first one priced at 1,999 Yuan (~$212) and the other one at 2,499 Yuan (~$354). It will be available for purchase starting from Sept. 6 in China. As it can be seen below, the eyewear comes in four styles. The images of each model show that Huawei has put a lot of emphasis on fashion. At the unveil event, Huawei Consumer Business Group CEO Yu Richard had claimed at the event that Huawei Gentle Monster smart glasses is the latest fusion of fashion and technology.
Huawei Gentle Monster smart glasses
The Huawei x Gentle Monster smart glasses is a device allow users to talk on the paired smartphone without putting anything in the ears. It is more like a replacement for earbuds. The device does not feature a camera and there are no buttons on it. To answer a phone call, users need to simply tap on the temple of the eyewear. For improved call quality, the eyewear has built-in AI Bluetooth noise reduction technology.
The temple of Huawei x Gentle Monster smart glasses has all the vital components such as antenna, charging module, chipset, a 2,200mAh battery and a pair of microphones. It features stereo speakers that are positioned above the ears. Tapping on the temple also gives to the voice assistant.

The Huawei x Gentle Monster smart glasses seems to be first releasing in the Chinese market. Hopefully, it will be also coming to international markets in the next few months. Huawei is expected to unveil AR glasses at the IFA 2019 tech trade show in Berlin, Germany in the coming month. There is possibility that the Chinese firm may showcase the Huawei x Gentle Monster smart glasses at the upcoming IFA 2019.
Last year, Realme had launched its first wired earphones named Realme Buds, costing ₹499. Now, the company is all set to launch its successor. As per the reports, the Realme Buds 2.0 are expected to go official along with the Realme 5 series smartphones in India.
The Realme Buds launched last year comes with in-ear design with magnets, 3.5mm headphone jack, and 11mm audio drivers for powerful bass. The Realme Buds 2.0 earphones are said to be an upgraded version with better audio quality and design. To know what has changed, we’ll have to wait for a few more hours for the launch event.
The Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro smartphones will be launching in India today, which will be featuring quad-camera setup on the back. The phone is tipped to come powered by massive 5,000mAh battery with VooC 3.0 flash charging support that is claimed to provide 55 percent of juice in just 30 minutes.
Reports indicate that the ‘Pro’ model of the Realme 5 could either be driven by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 710 or Snapdragon 712 chipset, paired with up to 8GB of RAM. it is likely to feature an AMOLED display, in-display fingerprint scanner, and a Sony IMX586 sensor of 48-megapixel resolution as a primary camera.
On the other hand, the regular Realme 5 is expected to come powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 600-series chipset, feature HD+ display, and a waterdrop-style notch. Software-wise, both Realme 5 and Realme 5 Pro are expected to have Android 9 Pie-based ColorOS running out of the box.
Vivo and the company’s product manager Li Xiang has been teasing about the company’s upcoming experimental smartphone — Vivo NEX 3. So far, the company has confirmed “Waterfall Screen” on the NEX 3, 3.5mm headphone jack, and 5G support.
Now, a real image of the Vivo NEX 3 smartphone has surfaced online, which gives us a clear look at the phone’s design and just the render that was teased earlier. It shows that the phone with “Waterfall Screen” design but it is not as curvy as the renders showed.
Further, there are still significant bezels surrounding the display, especially at the top and the bottom, which is odd given that the company has been touting about nearly 100 percent screen-to-body ratio.
However, there’s no notch visible on the phone’s display, suggesting that the phone will either have a pop-up front-facing camera or will adopt the in-display camera technology. The company has reportedly solved the “Window Effect” issue faced by the under-display camera sensor. So, there’s a possibility that we could see this technology being used in this upcoming Vivo NEX-series smartphone.
In Waterfall Screen, the display is curved on the left and the right side, allowing the company to offer a bezel-less design. Many expect the smartphone to come powered by the newly launched Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Plus octa-core processor.
Recently, Li Xang shared a partial screenshot of the upcoming Vivo NEX 3’s home screen which shows two 5G icons in the top-left and top-right corner. This confirms that the NEX 3 will come with dual 5G connectivity support.
Currently, there’s nothing much known about this upcoming smartphone. As per the reports, the upcoming Vivo NEX series smartphone could get launched in China next month. Notably, there’s no confirmation about the launch date from the company so far but we expect to know more about this phone in the coming weeks.
Redmi, which was a brand of Xiaomi for budget smartphones, split from its parent company earlier this year to work independently. Initially, the company focused on smartphones but it has now entered new product categories.
After launching the Redmi branded laptop and a washing machine, the company is now all set to enter the Smart TV market. The company has confirmed that the Redmi TV with the 70-inch display panel will launch in China on 26th August.
Now, ahead of the launch of this new Redmi TV, the company has shared an image of the upcoming product, giving us a clear look at its design. The design of the Redmi TV is quite simple with thin bezels surrounding the display.
There’s a little rectangle box below the “Redmi” branding, which could be housing the camera sensor. Yesterday, Lu Weibing, General Manager of Redmi had said that the Redmi TV will not only be smart but will also be big and the announcement will shock people. It remains to be seen what he is hinting at.
The first Redmi TV will have a massive 70-inch screen just as the model number on the 3C certificate hinted. This will put it behind Xiaomi’s own 75-inch Mi TV 4 and 75-inch Mi TV 4S smart TVs. There were rumors of a 40-inch model but we are not sure that will be launching on the same day.
The 75-inch Mi TV 4 is priced at ¥8999 (~$1277) while the 75-inch Mi TV 4S has a price tag of ¥5199 (~$738). We believe the Redmi TV will have a price tag closer to that of the Mi TV 4S.
This upcoming TV should have a 4K display and also come with Xiaomi’s PatchWall system. Other features we expect include DTS and Dolby Audio and a Bluetooth voice remote. To know more, including pricing and availability details, we’ll have for the official launch event.
Along with this new Smart TV product, the company is also expected to launch the next-gen Redmi Note series smartphones at the same event in China on 29th August, dubbed Redmi Note 8.
Nowadays, many are switching to smart laser projectors from the TVs. There are a few reasons why these products have become so popular. First, they occupy less space. Second, they are portable. We mean if the TVs are mounted on the wall and it’s difficult to take with you to a new house, the laser projectors weigh less and can be taken anywhere. Third, they can be connected to various peripherals and serve like a very big monitor. In fact, we can list other advantages coming our way from projectors. But there are a couple of disadvantages as well. Say, they cost more than the TVs with the same screen size. But what if we say you can get your hands on a laser projector that is priced at $93.99 with coupon code ZNUN2B5N and it can provide an image projection of 140 inches. The Seeback laser projector is the one we are suggesting.
Our protagonist has a number of key features that won’t keep any customer indifferent. Say, the Seeback laser projector can display images at up to 140 inches. Its native image resolution is 1280x720p, but the maximum supported resolution reaches 1920*1080. In other words, you will get a Full HD resolution viewing experience for a song. As you guess, various resolutions and projection sizes can be achieved putting it at a certain distance from the wall. The recommended distance varies from 3.3 inches to 18 inches.
The next most important feature of any laser projector is the lamp’s lifetime. In this sense, the Seeback laser projector comes with a lamp that can work for 30,000 hours. Shortly, you can buy it and forget about changing the lamp (or the projector) for ages. Apart from this, the brightness reaches 3600 lumens. Due to all these features as well as the unique image enhancement technology, the picture is rich in color and looks more vivid.
The Seeback laser projector also has manual correction option, an innovative cooling system that makes minimal noise compared with other video projectors on the market, and is compatible with various peripherals Amazon Fire TV Stick, Chromecast, smartphones, PS4, X-Box, etc.

If you are looking for a productivity phone with Android on board, you probably have no better choices than Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ or its 5G variant. It is not a case if it is one of the most expensive smartphones out there. But is it worth the money asked? Should you buy it with that high price tag ahead of its official launch on the global market? Well, one of the best ways to establish it is comparing with the other expensive phones in the market. iPhones are the symbol of elitist phones, that is why we decided to compare it with the iPhone Xs Max. And given its higher price compared to the most important Android competitors, we also chose the most expensive variant of the S line-up: the Galaxy S10 5G. Here is an in-depth specs comparison between the most amazing top-tier phones by Samsung and Apple.
Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ vs Apple iPhone Xs Max vs Samsung Galaxy S10 5G
Samsung Galaxy Note 10+
Apple iPhone Xs Max
Samsung Galaxy S10 5G
DIMENSIONS AND WEIGHT
162.3 x 77.2 x 7.9 mm, 196 g
157.5 x 77.4 x 7.7 mm, 208 g
162.6 x 77.1 x 7.9 mm, 198 g
DISPLAY
6.8 inches, 1440 x 3040p (Quad HD+), Dynamic AMOLED
6.5 inches, 1242 x 2688p (Full HD+), OLED
6.7 inches, 1440 x 3040p (Quad HD+), Dynamic AMOLED
The iPhone Xs Max offers the best materials (stainless steel frame instead of aluminum), the most symmetric design and even the most compact size. On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ has a higher screen-to-body ratio, but it is a very big phablet due to its huge display. Samsung Galaxy S10 5G comes with an in-display camera and a higher screen-to-body ratio than iPhone Xs Max, as well as smaller dimensions than The Galaxy Note 10+. There is not a clear winner here, it is all up to the user’s tastes.
Display
If I had to choose the best display I would have no doubt: Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ wins. It has a wider panel, it supports the S Pen, it boasts the most awesome color reproduction and it even ships with a high Quad HD+ resolution and the new Dynamic AMOLED technology. The only real advantage of the iPhone Xs Max’s display is the 120 Hz refresh ratio which makes the user experience smoother and better for gamers. But that big notch is not the most desired thing on a phone, despite it contains the great Face ID sensors besides the selfie snapper.
Hardware/Software
Thanks to iOS 12 as the operating system, the iPhone Xs Max provides more reliable performances with higher stability and blazing speeds, despite its hardware department is inferior to both its rivals. The second place goes to the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ as it is equipped with an upgraded chipset in its European version: the Exynos 9825 built at 7 nm, unlike the predecessor Exynos 9820 built at 8 nm. Further, it supports S Pen and it has more advanced software for productivity. There is also to consider that Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ is the only which features a micro SD to expand the internal storage (you can get up to 1 TB more). But the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G can provide a faster connection thanks to the support to 5G networks, if you have 5G coverage, obviously.
Camera
The quad camera found on the Galaxy Note 10+ is overall the best camera department you can find in this trio. It features Dual OIS for an amazing optical stabilization for both the main sensor and the telephoto lens. Further, it is able to record amazing 4K videos at 60 fps with HDR10+. While Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ wins when it comes to the rear cameras, the Galaxy S10 5G has the most efficient front cameras: a dual setup with a bright 10 MP lens and a TOF camera. iPhone Xs Max is still one of the best camera phones out there, but it is pretty disappointing compared with Samsung’s flagships.
Battery
We believe the Samsung Galaxy S10 5G will offer the longest battery life, at least when 5G connectivity is off. It has the biggest battery: a huge 4500 mAh unit, and it even supports reverse wireless charging. Right after, there is the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ with its 4300 mAh battery and, since there is no 5G, we have no doubts about its efficiency.
Price
The starting price of the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ is €1100/$1100, iPhone Xs Max costs €1250/$1100 and Samsung Galaxy S10 5G starts from €1160/$1099. At the end of the day, unless you need the 5G connectivity, we suggest you go for the Galaxy Note 10+ due to the support to S Pen, its bigger and better display, high performances, micro SD support, and more amazing cameras.
A number of manufacturers made big changes to their lineup this year. For example, Samsung not only released the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+ but also announced a Galaxy S10e, which is a cheaper version of its siblings. OnePlus also decided to launch two flagships in the first half of the year – the OnePlus 7 and a more expensive and feature-packed OnePlus 7 Pro. It is now set to announce another duo for the second half of the year which should arrive as the OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 7T Pro. The release dates for the phones have been leaked.
The launch details, which were published by Max J. (@Samsung_News_) on Twitter, reveal OnePlus will be making changes to its usual second-half launch schedule.
Alleged OnePlus 7T Pro
The OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 7T Pro will be launching first in India this year and they will be arriving much earlier. Rather than the end of October like last year, OnePlus will unveil the phones on September 26. The Indian launch date coincides with the same date the OnePlus TV is expected to be unveiled. If the above date is correct, then the OnePlus TV should also launch in India.
The phones will then launch simultaneously in the US and Europe on October 10. Sales will begin shortly after on October 15. There is no mention of the phones’ launch date in China.

The OnePlus 7T and OnePlus 7T Pro should come with improved cameras, the new Snapdragon 855+ processor and new software features. We also expect them to cost slightly more than their predecessors.
When Oukitel announced their triple camera smartphone, Oukitel C17 Pro, they promised to make it the most affordable triple camera phone of this year. And they did it! The company announced the presale period for the device and the price is a real surprise, as from August 26th to August 30th the C17 Pro will be sold for just $89.99 instead of the official retail price of $139.99!
Apart from the really low price, the C17 Pro also comes with some cool modern features. It sports a 6.35″ incell display with up to 90% screen/body ratio and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. Unlike other entry-level devices that come with a notch to host the front camera, Oukitel brings a hole punch on the top left corner to host the 5MP selfie shooter. This allows for more usable space and looks beautiful. In addition, the back cover adopts electroplating technology to make the color brighter and the grip more comfortable.
Of course, the killer feature is the triple camera with 13MP/5MP/2MP sensor configuration. The 13MP main sensor comes from Sony and together with the depth and wide-angle cameras offers excellent shooting experience. Mono mode, face beautify mode, Bokeh mode, and Pro mode are some of the camera app options you can use. The triple setup shoots better photos that other same-priced smartphones.
But the surprises don’t stop there. Oukitel chose a hardware combination that is usually found in higher category phones. The C17 Pro sports the MediaTek MT6763 octa-core SoC backed by 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. You can play heavy games on it as you would do on a mid-ranger. What’s more, the MT6763 is quite power-saving so the 3900mAh battery is able to support a whole day of use with no pressure.
Oukitel did everything to offer the most affordable triple camera smartphone, most affordable hole punch display smartphone, and the most affordable 4GB/64GB smartphone. The presale price will be available for just 5 days and all colors will be available: Sunrise, Twilight, and Black. You can add it to your cart right away to be ready when the presale starts.
Vivo is expected to announce the iQOO Pro 5G on August 22 as its first 5G phone. Ahead of the launch, we expect the rumour mill to continue buzzing with juicy details of the device. Sure, the latest is the AnTuTu score of a Vivo model V1916A which is definitely the iQOO Pro 5G. Recall that the device had earlier appeared on TENAA with this same model number.
On AnTuTu, the iQOO Pro 5G model with 8GB of RAM and a humongous 256GB of internal storage got benchmarked. As for the score, the flagship Snapdragon 855 Plus-powered model came with a total benchmark score of 497,179 points, which is one of the highest scores on AnTuTu. The score is higher than that of the Black Shark 2 Pro which was released recently. On the individual aspects, the CPU score is 152,511 points, the GPU score is 19,1965 points, the MEM score is 92,027 points, while the UX score is 60,676 points. The high MEM score is, perhaps, the most spectacular and this could be attributed to the various technologies onboard the iQOO Pro such as F2FS file system, TurboWrite and HPB.
As a reminder, the Vivo iQOO Pro 5G will feature a 6.41-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with an on-screen fingerprint scanner and a resolution of 2340 × 1080pixels. The smartphone will come with 8GB and 12GB RAM versions. You also get three storage options to choose from – 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB. In terms of photography, the Vivo iQOO Pro 5G will adopt a 12MP selfie shooter. While at the rear aspect, there will be a triple camera setup comprising of a 48MP+ 13MP+12MP combo.
