After a poor 2018, ZTE is looking for a comeback this year. The company showcased its 5G technology as well as its first 5G flagship, the ZTE Axon 10 Pro at MWC 2019. While the second model announced at the event, the ZTE Blade V10 went on sale a couple of weeks back, we didn’t hear much about its flagship ‘Pro’ smartphone yet. However, ZTE has confirmed today that the Axon 10 Pro 5G will be officially released in China on May 6.
ZTE’s Axon 10 Pro comes with a beautiful curved display
The Axon 10 Pro is a good looking flagship featuring super thin bezels and a curved display. In fact, ZTE claims that the phone features the smallest chin among all flexible AMOLED displays in production. The chin is said to be just 1.8mm in thickness and complements the small waterdrop notch on top. This was made possible by using COP solution for Visionex’s 6.4-inch Full HD+ flexible AMOLED display which is 30% thinner than traditional displays.
The ZTE Axon 10 Pro is the company’s first 5G smartphone powered by Snapdragon 855 with Snapdragon X50 modem. The phone comes with 6GB of RAM with a triple camera setup at the back featuring a 48MP primary sensor, 20MP 125° ultra-wide lens, and an 8MP telephoto lens. A 20MP front-facing camera takes care of selfies.
The phone also uses the new-age in-display fingerprint sensor instead of a traditional physical one. Finally, there’s a large 4000mAh battery ensuring that the phone lasts throughout the day, even with 5G connected.
While we already know most of the specifications of the Axon 10 Pro, the launch event should reveal essential details like its pricing and availability.

Soon after announcing the Huawei Mate X — the brand’s first smartphone to feature a foldable display and 5G connectivity, Huawei announced yet another 5G smartphone, dubbed Huawei Mate 20 X 5G. This is the company’s first non-foldable 5G device.
Recently, China Unicom revealed an image of the smartphone which shows that the appearance of the Huawei’s Mate 20 X 5G version is not much different from the regular version. The only difference is the 5G Logo on the back panel.
While the phone’s exact launch date or pricing information is not yet known, the device’s key specifications have leaked online, which reveals that the smartphone could be quite different from the standard Mate 20 X.
According to the leaked information, the phone will have the same screen size as the Mate 20 X 4G but will come with a smaller battery of 4200 mAh capacity, despite 5G connectivity being a substantial battery drain. However, it is also expected to come with support for 40W Super Charging — a fast charging feature.
Most of the other specs are expected to be the same as the standard model, including a huge 7.2-inch display, coupled with 8 GB of RAM. It will have a triple Leica camera setup on the back and will be powered by Huawei’s flagship Kirin 980 octa-core chipset. It will be equipped with Balong 5000 5G modem, which also powers the recently announced Mate X.
Recently, the retail box of the Huawei Mate 20 X 5G also leaked online through Weibo, which also mentions the 5G connectivity support. As for the availability, we expect the smartphone to be available soon after the launch of Huawei Mate X, which will be in June this year. Xiaomi presently has two weighing scales under the MIJIA brand. The MIJIA weigh scale priced at 99 yuan and 199 yuan Body Fat Scale. We don’t know the features this new product will bring but if it is a Body Fat scale, we expect to see some improvements over its predecessors.
The Zenfone Live L1 is an entry-level phone that was released last year. ASUS has now followed it up with the Zenfone Live L2. If you already own the Zenfone Live L1, then you should definitely skip this phone as ASUS hasn’t changed anything other than given the phone a new paint job.
The Zenfone Live L2 has a 5.5-inch HD+ IPS display with an 82.3% screen-to-body ratio. The display has 400 nits of brightness and supports glove touch. There are two variants – a Snapdragon 425 version with 16GB of storage and a Snapdragon 430 version with 32GB of storage. Both versions have 2GB of RAM.
There is a 13MP f/2.0 camera with PDAF and a 5P lens on the rear of the device and a 5MP f/2.4 selfie camera with Softlight LED flash. You also have a triple card tray for dual nano-SIMs and a MicroSD card (2TB max). Both SIM slots support LTE but only one SIM can be set LTE/3G, the other will be set to 2G. Supported LTE bands vary by region. The phone also has a 3.5mm audio jack.
The Huawei midrange family is actually so big that it is almost impossible to remember all the mid-rangers released by the Chinese company in the last year, especially in the Chinese market. The nth of them is the Honor 20i, which will soon hit the global market under the Honor 20 Lite moniker. And in the actual period, there is nothing more appropriate than comparing the new handset with the other recent mid-rangers from Huawei. Among the latest ones, there is the Huawei Nova 4e, recently launched globally as the Huawei P30 Lite, and the Huawei Enjoy 9s that is a slightly better variant of the P Smart+ 2019. We are talking about very similar devices, but they come with some important differences that you will discover in this specs comparison.

Design
The gradient glass back covers of these devices are simply amazing. They are both elegant and very attractive, so they surely deserve attention when it comes to aesthetics. My favorite one is Huawei Nova 4e, but for a reason, that has nothing to do with the look. The Nova 4e, also known as the P30 Lite in the global market, is a thinner device, it is more lightweight and it is also more compact. That is why it wins the design comparison.
Display
On the paper, Huawei Enjoy 9s seems to have a slightly better display thanks to the LTPS technology improving some key parameters. But we are only talking about marginal differences, so do not focus so much on this. All of these devices come with a waterdrop display and very narrow bezels, as well as a similar size. Huawei Nova 4e has a slightly smaller display than Honor 20i and Huawei Enjoy 9s, which makes it slightly more compact.
Specs & Software
You get exactly the same chipset in each case: a midrange-class Kirin 710 that offers more or less the same performances as the Snapdragon 660. The only thing changing is the memory configuration. Huawei Enjoy 9s comes with just 4 GB of RAM, so it loses the comparison. The winner is the Honor 20i as it is equipped with up to 6 GB of RAM and up to 256 GB of internal storage, while the most powerful configuration of the Nova 4e is 6/128 GB. All of these phones are based on Android 9 Pie with EMUI 9 to customize it.
Camera
Overall, the best camera department belongs to the Huawei Nova 4e, at least on the paper. In each case, you get a triple camera setup with a main 24 MP sensor, an ultrawide lens, and a depth sensor, but on the Huawei Nova 4e, the stabilization seems better, even though it is not optical stabilization. But note that Honor 20i has an important advantage: it is the only that can record videos in 1080p at 60 fps. Huawei Enjoy 9s loses the comparison because of its below-average 8 MP selfie camera, while both the Honor 20i and Huawei Nova 4e come with 32 MP front cameras.
Battery
We did not establish a winner of the battery comparison because these devices feature similar battery capacities and also similar specs, so the battery life varies just slightly depending on the scenario. Huawei Nova 4e’s battery is slightly smaller, but the phone also comes with a faster charging technology thanks to a power of 18W.
Price
Despite they come with very similar specifications, these devices carry different price tags. Huawei Enjoy 9s starts from just €200/$224 and it is the most affordable one, Honor 20i has a starting price tag of €210/$235, and Huawei Nova 4e costs at least €270/$303 in its base variant. Due to its more compact body and its amazing cameras, Huawei Nova 4e is the winner of this comparison, but not for a big margin. That is why you would better go for the Honor 20i because of its way more affordable price.
Microsoft has launched a new Xbox model dubbed Xbox One S All-Digital Edition. This new edition is a trimmed down version of the Xbox One S and it comes with a $250 price tag which is $50 less than the Xbox One S’s retail price. The model will be available for purchase on May 7 but pre-orders are already being accepted.
The gaming console may be a fine one for those who loathe the optical drive and the heartbreak that accompanies a damaged disc drive or game software-containing compact disc. That is because it doesn’t have the drive to play physical discs or Blu-ray. However, the console still features all other Xbox One accessories and digitally acquired games and apps run smoothly onboard.
Talking about digital gaming software, the console is pre-installed with three popular Microsoft-owned game titles namely; Sea of Thieves, Forza Horizon 3 and Minecraft. It also comes with a special offer on Xbox Game Pass. The Game Pass is Xbox’s monthly subscription service that comes along with access to more than 100 games. The subscription costs just $10 monthly ($120 annually) and it gives you access to more than 100 games which you can download and play for the period that there is a subscription. Obviously, the Xbox One S All-Digital Edition is targeted at creating an online ecosystem, but access to the full online features will cost a little more. In that case, users will have to subscribe to Xbox Live Gold. The console comes with a 1-month membership, so you can enjoy the complete suite right out of the box. from the go.
One of the features the Realme 3 Pro will have is support for Fortnite right out of the box. Its closest competitor, the Redmi Note 7 Pro doesn’t support the popular mobile game and Realme is using that as a marketing strategy. However, that may change soon.
We wouldn’t be wrong to say Xiaomi/Redmi feels threatened by the Realme 3 Pro. See the tweet below from the head of Xiaomi India, Manu Kumar Jain.
Recently a brand has started talking about Qualcomm SD 710.
Here's the thruth: it's a one year old processor! We launched a phone with SD 710 (globally) in Q2 2018.
The brand he’s referring to is Realme and the Realme 3 Pro is the phone that will have the “one-year-old” Snapdragon 710 processor. To be fair, Realme started it first with the tweet below.
How about playing #Fortnite on #realme3Pro? I believe #realme3Pro will be the 1st in its segment that can directly support it. Tried to play this game on some latest "Pro" devices but none of them could manage. When it comes to speed, chipset matters. RT to win 1 Rm3pro. pic.twitter.com/j5SKOrXA2g
Anyway, Redmi Note 7 Pro users may soon be able to play Fortnite on their phones according to Mr. Jain.
The RN7 Pro doesn’t support it because the chipset powering it, the Snapdragon 675, isn’t available in the US yet. Epic Games is based in the US and since they have not been able to test and certify it, phones powered by it won’t support Fortnite.
The first units of the new Galaxy Fold were released by Samsung on Monday. Some of the units were handed out to a number of tech reviewers. This was received with lots of enthusiasm as reviews were already streaming out and it shows the device will soon be available to buy. Unfortunately, by Wednesday, the Galaxy Fold had a nightmarish experience in the hands of some of the reviewers. The display on some of the units got damaged and couldn’t be used anymore. Even though the number of reported cases were no more than five, the news soon spread like wildfire. The reasons are not difficult to decipher. For one, the Galaxy Fold was a first-generation technology, delivering on the foldable phone design we had so anticipated. Secondly, the device costs almost $2000! Who wants to spend that much on a device that can’t even last a week in the hands of users.
Samsung did not hesitate to respond to the issue. A statement released to The Verge by the Korean tech giant reads, “A limited number of early Galaxy Fold samples were provided to media for review. We have received a few reports regarding the main display on the samples provided. We will thoroughly inspect these units in person to determine the cause of the matter.
Separately, a few reviewers reported having removed the top layer of the display causing damage to the screen. The main display on the Galaxy Fold features a top protective layer, which is part of the display structure designed to protect the screen from unintended scratches. Removing the protective layer or adding adhesives to the main display may cause damage. We will ensure this information is clearly delivered to our customers”.
We expect some improvement to be made to the final products. BHowever, it remains unconvincing that the display can withstand the rigours of daily use. It looks just too fragile. Perhaps. in a couple of years time, the technology could see some improvements to increase the durability would be made.
The Amazfit Verge is a fitness smartwatch made by Huami, the brand behind Xiaomi‘s Mi Band series. The smartwatch which was first released last year in China is also sold in the US.
The watch has support for voice AI assistant – Xiaomi XiaoAI on the Chinese version. However, the US version has now gained support for Amazon’s Alexa voice assistant.
Owners of the Verge will be able to call up Alexa to ask it questions, get news briefings and weather updates, and set reminders just from their wrist. You can also link it with your calendar (Google, Apple. Microsoft) and ask it for your schedule. It also supports translation to several languages.
The feature was announced back in December when the phone launched in North America but has just been made available.
Huami also says the Amazfit Verge now supports calls on iOS (the US only). So if you have an iPhone and have been waiting for the feature, you should go right ahead and update the watch using the Amazfit Watch app. There is also a Find Watch feature for iOS and new watch faces.
Xiaomi has announced the PMA Graphene neck smart sleep aid pillow. The smart sleep aid features a classic grooved design, made of 40D memory cotton core, and a three-dimensional wrap that evenly releases neck pressure.
The pillow also features a graphene-heated area which gives a soothing effect. When the device is powered on, warm far-infrared light wave surrounds the neck, and the heat is applied slowly to relieve neck fatigue and release body pressure. There is also a built-in smart module that records the user’s sleep pattern, noting such parameters as the depth of sleep and duration, the number of breaths and the times the user changed sleeping position. At the same time, the smart alarm clock can be preset to wake you up within a specified time.
Furthermore, the sleep aid pillow uses a wireless Bluetooth connection. The Bluetooth module is integrated with the graphene film and the temperature control. This enables the device to be paired with a smartphone and as such, the temperature can be adjusted from the phone. The Bluetooth can be turned on with just a button. The Bluetooth module is integrated with the graphene film, and the temperature control and Bluetooth can be turned on with one button. The temperature can be adjusted according to individual needs.
Bone conduction allows you to hear sound through the vibration of the bones of your face (jawbones and cheekbones). This means that the sound waves are bypassing the outer and middle ear (where the eardrum is located) and directly stimulating the inner ear (hearing organ. Thus, there is no need for headphones while sleeping. The music sound level is also low, ensuring others are not disturbed.
The PMA Graphene neck smart sleep aid pillow is on crowdfunding for 299 yuan ($44) and is expected to start shipping on June 2.
The Redmi Y series will be getting a new member on April 24 and we are looking forward to it. The Redmi India Twitter account as released two new teasers for the upcoming phone which is expected to launch as the Redmi Y3.
The first is a 44-second video that reveals the Redmi Y3 will come with a 4,000mAh battery that lasts more than a day. The video also hints at a gradient color design for the phone as the font for the battery capacity has a gradient color.
The second teaser is an image that partially shows the device. The phone appears to be covered in glass which curves towards the frame and has a blue gradient color. This is a different color variant from the one on the Amazon India page which has a pink gradient finish. There is also a black variant as seen below.
The Redmi Y3 will have a 32MP selfie camera, a waterdrop notch, and dual rear cameras. It will also have a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and be powered by a Snapdragon processor. The Amazon page also says it will be splash-proof.
It has become quite common for upcoming smartphones to pop up on benchmarking apps like AnTuTu, Geekbench, and Master Lu. And sometimes, it’s the company itself that reveals these scores before its launch. This time, it was Lenovo’s VP, Chang Cheng who decided to share the AnTutu score of the Lenovo Z6 Pro via his Weibo account. As expected, the phone manages to score pretty well in the benchmarking app.
In the image shared by Chang Cheng, the Lenovo Z6 Pro scores over 400,000 on AnTuTu. Flagships with Snapdragon 855 tend to score just under 400K, so this is quite a remarkable figure. However, we have often seen that official scores come out inflated than real-life figures. And considering Lenovo’s track record, expect a score that’s slightly lower than this in real life.
We already know a few specifications of the Lenovo Z6 Pro. The phone will feature a quad-camera setup at the back with Hyper Video technology. We have covered the phone’s renders and camera layout in detail here, so check that article out for more details. As for the phone’s specs, we know that it will come with Snapdragon 855 inside with one 2.39cm macro lens and a 48MP AI camera. The quad camera setup is capable of capturing 100MP photos. Also, Lenovo has confirmed its partnership its Legion gaming brand for this phone.
The Lenovo Z6 Pro launches on April 23, so stay tuned for more details.
Meanwhile, you can check out some of our recent Lenovo Z6 Pro coverage from below.
The Lenovo Z6 Pro is one of the flagships scheduled for release this month. It is also Lenovo‘s first flagship of the year. The phone will come with quad cameras and a feature called “Hyper Video” which Lenovo says will be one of the trends of the 5G era.
Over the past week, we have seen official images that show a part of the phone but today is the first time we are seeing a live photo (and official renders) of the device.
The Lenovo Z6 Pro as seen in the photo is covered in glass that is pretty reflective. There is a streak of red that runs from the top, passes through the cameras and down to the bottom.
The cameras are stacked vertically on the left and all have red rings around them. Three of the sensors are housed together and slightly raised while the fourth is separated. There is also an LED flash flanking the sensors on the right. If you look closely, you can make out the words “Hyper Video” and “48MP AI Quad Camera”.
There are two official renders too. One of them shows the phone has a laser focus module beside the LED flash which is not visible in the live photo. There also seems to be more red streaks which we believe becomes visible depending on the angle light is reflected by the device.
The Lenovo Z6 Pro will have 5G support and be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 chipset. The front of the phone is still a mystery but there are rumors it will sport a waterdrop notch and have a screen-to-body ratio higher than 90%.
