The Mi Band 3 launched last year sporting a new design and new features. Now it has been confirmed that a successor which will launch as the Mi Band 4 will arrive this year. Seeing as the Mi Band 3 didn’t come until two years after the Mi Band 2, and that itself was launched two years after the original Mi Band, it is a bit surprising that the tradition has changed.
The name of Xiaomi‘s next fitness tracker and the possible time of launch was revealed by David Cui, the Chief Financial Officer of Huami at a quarterly earnings call. The company executive was actually asked if the Mi Band 4 will be launching this month or next. While he did confirm there will indeed be a Mi Band 4 this year, he said he’s not sure if it will be launching in March or April. Below is a transcript of his response:
…..For Mi Band 4, it’s going to be in this year. It will be in 2019. But I’m not sure, it’s going to be in March and April. But, it is going to be in this year. So, right now, Mi Band 3 is still hot sale — is still — so really, really well. The margin is not shrinking, the shipments are not shrinking. So we will pick — work with Xiaomi to pick the right time to launch Mi Band 4 in the year……
In follow-up responses, Mr. Cui did say the Mi Band 4 will come with new features that will suit the consumers need. He also revealed it will be priced competitively.
OPPO Reno is expected to go official on April 10 and ahead of that, a number of details of the device have made the rounds on the rumour mills. Already, we know the device will be a flagship that would be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 855 chipset. Another major highlight of the model is the 48MP Sony sensor onboard. The device will also pack a big 4064mAh battery. Since it is a flagship model, one would have expected the device will have wireless charging support but that isn’t going to happen.
OPPO’s VP Bryan Shen has revealed that the Reno will not have wireless charging feature. The VP hinted that the device will also not have the latest SuperVOOC feature but will come with the latest VOOC 3.0 fast charging. According to Bryan, the VOOC 3.0 can charge the phone from 1% to full charge 23.8% faster than VOOC2.0.
OPPO’s VP has been the source of almost all the details we have known about the Reno. However, he has stopped short of revealing the pricing detail of the model. We’ll have to wait until the official launch to find out about the price.
OPPO will be announcing the OPPO Reno smartphone on April 10. The smartphone is officially confirmed to feature the Snapdragon 855 mobile platform. Today, the OPPO CPH1919 and CPH1921 powered by the SD855 SoC have been spotted on the Bluetooth SIG certification website. Hence, it appears that the CPH1919 and CPH1921 could be variants of the upcoming OPPO Reno smartphone. The Bluetooth certification has revealed that there could be a 5G version of the OPPO Reno phone.
The OPPO CPH1919 possesses a 6.65-inch that produces full HD+ resolution. The Snapdragon 855 SoC powers the smartphone. It features a 48-megapixel + 8-megapixel + 13-megapixel triple camera unit and a selfie snapper of 16-megapixel. Its Android OS will be customized with ColorOS 6.0 UI.

The key difference between the two devices is the CPH1919 supports 4G LTE networks only whereas the CPH1921 carries support for 5G connectivity. This indicates that the Snapdragon 855 SoC of the CPH1919 will have X24 LTE modem whereas the SoC of the CPH1921 will be coupled with X50 5G modem. A recent leak had also revealed that the there will be a 5G variant of the OPPO Reno phone.

Today, we’ve got our hands on the Zenbre SoundBank Z8 Plus, a wireless speaker that cost £69.99, and for that price, you get a premium speaker. So, let’s check out the Zenbre SoundBank Z8 Plus in detail.
UNBOXING
The speaker ships with a USB charging cable, a 3.5mm audio cable and a user manual. It also has two soft foams that the Z8 Plus is encased in.
DESIGN
With a cylindrical design, Zenbre Z8 Plus adopts a soft silicone chassis above and below, and the button and ports are set on the silicone chassis. The basic design is clean except for the elastic webbing band which is designed for taking the speaker out.
I will call the button side as the top side since you can operate the Z8 Plus through this side, which comprises of a power on/off button, a next/previous music button, a TWS key, an EQ key, a call, and Bluetooth button and a mode switch button. What’s more, there are two small LED lights to display the status of the speaker.
On the bottom side, the ports are hidden under a silicone flap that has a logo of ZENBRE. The Z8 Plus comes with a microSD card slot, a microUSB charging port, a 3.5mm aux jack, and a USB Disk port. It’s convenient for users to store music with the microSD card, and I love this feature. The speaker offers enough options to the user, making it a practical choice for multiple occasions.
SOUND QUALITY
The £69.99 cost speaker will not disappoint you as it has pretty good sound quality. We played a lot of songs with lyrics as well as complex music to check its performance. After turning on the speaker, you can press EQ key to switch between Normal, Treble and Bass modes. In the normal mode, the performance of songs heavy on lyrics turned out to be good. Even the highs were pretty crisp except for a minimum amount of distortion.
But once you switch to the Treble mode, the performance changes quite significantly. Vocals are louder and clearer. The Treble mode is amazing that livens up the vocals of the song, and personally, I am a fan of the Treble mode. Compared to the Tribit XBoom Bluetooth Speaker ($59.49), the Bass mode of Zenbre Z8 Plus is not powerful enough to shake a table. So, while the bass is pretty good for a speaker of its size, it doesn’t have the thumping effect of the XBoom speakers.
But on the whole, I prefer Zenbre SoundBank Z8 Plus over the Tribit XBoom Bluetooth Speaker. Like I said in the Tribit Speaker Review, the XBASS mode is too loud for me, and the bass is not my priority. The treble mode is definitely why I would pick the Zenbre SoundBank Z8 Plus. Turning up the volume and switching to the Treble mode can give you stereo surroundsound experience that gets you completely immersed in music. It’s fantastic!
CONCLUSION
The Zenbre SoundBank Z8 Plus comes with IPX6 Waterproof and is fueled by 6600mAh built-in battery that makes sure that you can take it to the swimming pool and enjoy music for up to 18 hours in 60% volume. The speaker weighs about 1160g and comes with 101mm x 102.5mm x 221mm dimensions. Personally, it’s a bit too heavy. So, carrying it around while walking is not really a comfortable option.
[envira-gallery id=”241571″]
Overall, the Zenbre SoundBank Z8 Plus is a great affordable Bluetooth speaker. Therefore, I can recommend this speaker if you are looking for something that can play good music with powerful vocals, and decent bass, for up to 18 hours.

Huawei, the leading smartphone vendor in China, launched its flagship Kirin 980 chipset a few months ago which competes against other flagship processors — Snapdragon 855 and Exynos 9820. Now, it seems that the company is working on another flagship chipset.
According to the reports, the upcoming chipset from Huawei — HiliSilicon Kirin 985 will be launched in the second half of this year. As per the report from a Taiwan-based portal, the self-sufficiency rate of Kirin processors for this year will be increased to 60 percent.
The company is expected to significantly increase the production of the chipset in the second half of this year, which is based on TSMC‘s 7nm process. The China-based manufacturer is still relying on MediaTek and Qualcomm chipsets for a few of its mid-range devices but the company is now reducing its reliance on other manufacturers going forward.
Thus, the Chinese company is expected to accelerate the production of its low-end chipsets as well, along with the high-end chipsets. The upcoming Huawei Kirin 985 chipset will be based on 7nm+ EUV (Extreme Ultraviolet Light) technology. As said, the chipset will be released in the second half of the year as the successor of the Kirin 980.
Meanwhile, the company is gearing to launch its flagship smartphone series — Huawei P30, which also includes P30 Pro and P30 Lite. The launch event is scheduled to take place on 26th March in Paris, France.
Previous reports had claimed that the upcoming mid-range Pixel phones from Google could be hitting the market as Pixel 3 Lite and Pixel 3 XL Lite, but a report from the last week had revealed that these phones may respectively debut as Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL. A fresh report by 9to5 Google has detailed information on the specifications of these devices.
The new report actually corroborates on the specs of the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL that have surfaced in the recent months. The new leak reveals that the Pixel 3a will be featuring a 5.6-inch display whereas its larger sibling will be fitted with a 6-inch screen. These phones are now expected to release in Just Black and Clearly White color options. The report states that the search engine giant will also sell a third color variant in a bid to sell more units.
As far as the design of the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL are concerned, they are expected to feature 18:9 aspect ratio screens and dual-tone rear panel with single rear camera and a fingerprint reader. The Pixel 3a and 3a XL will be borrowing Active Edge squeezable sides from the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL handsets. Some of the other features that Pixel 3a duo will be borrowing Pixel 3 duo are 64 GB of inbuilt storage, eSIM support and Titan M security chip.
The Pixel 3a will be featuring a 5.6-inch OLED panel with full HD+ resolution of 2200 x 1080 pixels. It will be fueled by Snapdragon 670 chipset and 4 GB of RAM. For photography, the Pixel 3a will be equipped with a rear-facing camera of 8-megapixel and a frontal shooter of 12-megapixel. It is packed with a 3,000mAh battery. As far as the camera performance of the Pixel 3a is concerned, the publication had stated that its source has confirmed that its camera output is identical to Pixel 3, but the performance of the camera app is poorer.
The report does not include detailed specs of the Pixel 3a XL. There is a possibility that that the Pixel 3a XL will have identical specs as the Pixel 3a and the only major difference could be the inclusion of the larger 6-inch OLED display and a bigger battery. There is no word on the launch date of the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL smartphones. A recent report had revealed that India could be one of the countries to receive the Pixel 3a and 3a XL.
In February this year, Lenovo-owned Motorola had launched its latest Moto G7 series smartphones in Brazil. Now, it seems that the company is all set to launch the Moto G7, the successor to the last year’s Moto G6, in India.
Teasing the launch of the Moto G7 in India, the company shared a tweet through its official handle, which reads as follow: “Make that Monday look count for you coz the sexy #motog7 is coming soon! Share your pictures showing how #stylematterstoyou to win it.”
The company has not yet revealed if it plans to launch any other smartphone of the Moto G7 series in India. Motorola has already launched the G7 Power smartphone in India last month for Rs. 13,999 (approximately $204).
Moto G7
The Moto G7 comes with a waterdrop or teardrop notch on top of a 6.2-inch Full HD+ display that supports 1080 x 2270 pixels screen resolution. Under the hood, the device is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 632 octa-core processor and is paired with 4GB of RAM.
It packs 64GB of internal storage and comes with a microSD card slot that further expands the phone’s storage capacity. In the camera department, the smartphone features a dual camera setup on the back side, comprising a 12 MP + 5 MP setup. On the front side, the Moto G7 features an 8MP shooter for taking selfies and video calling.
The smartphone comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, and it also supports Face Unlock. The phone has a water-repellent design that shields it against accidental spills and sweat. Running on Android OS, the device is powered by a 3,000mAh battery with 15W Turbopower charging support.
The Moto G7 comes in two color options — Ceramic Black and Clear White and is priced at $299. It remains to be seen how the company prices the device in the Indian market.
Xiaomi, which has been dominating the Indian smartphone market since the past few quarters, has received a fresh investment to further ramp up its operations in one of the world’s biggest smartphone market.
As per the company’s filing with the Registrar of Companies, Xiaomi has invested money into Xiaomi Technology India in two tranches — Rs. 1,500 crore (15 billion INR) on 17th January and Rs. 2,000 crore (20 billion INR) on 1st March.
Reports indicate that the company would utilize the newly infused funds to enter the white goods sector — such as water purifiers, washing machines, laptops and refrigerators. It will also spend money on expanding its company-owned Mi Home retail stores to sustain the leadership in the Indian smartphone market.
The development of this new funding in Xiaomi’s Indian business comes at a time when Samsung is revamping its strategy for the budget smartphones in the Indian market with the all-new Galaxy M-series and Galaxy A-series smartphones.
Xiaomi has not been spending heavily in the Indian business because it heavily relies on an asset-light model. A couple of months ago, Honor had launched its Honor 10 Lite smartphone in the Indian market. The phone was first launched in China last year as a toned-down variant of the Honor 10 and successor to the Honor 9 Lite.
In India, the phone was launched in two variants — 4GB RAM and 6GB RAM. Now, the company has launched the 3GB RAM model as well. It is priced at Rs. 11,999 (approximately $175) and will come in two color options — Midnight Black and a Sapphire Blue.
The Honor 10 Lite features a 6.21-inch IPS LCD Full HD+ display with screen resolution of 2280 x 1080 pixels and 19:9 aspect ratio and about 90 percent screen-to-body ratio. Under the hood, the device is powered by the company’s own Kirin 710 chipset. It is Huawei’s first 12nm chipset that is claimed to offer significant improvement in power consumption and performance compared to the 16nm Kirin 659.
The phone was already available in two variants — 4GB RAM with 64GB of internal storage and 6GB RAM with 128GB of internal storage. The new third variant packs 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. There’s also a microSD card slot which enables you to further expand the phone’s storage capacity.
Honor 10 Lite also features a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor for added protection. For photography, the device comes equipped with a dual camera setup on the back, featuring a 13-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel secondary sensor stacked vertically.
It has several AI-based features, including scene recognition, partition optimization, among others. There’s also a 24-megapixel front camera with artificial intelligence technology. Connectivity options on the device include Dual SIM, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, GPS with A-GPS, GLONASS, BDS, Bluetooth v5.0 LE, and micro-USB 2.0 port.
The phone runs Android 9 Pie operating system out of the box with the company’s own custom interface EMUI 9 on top. Honor says that the company has made changes in the operating system to make it more suitable to the Indian users. It also comes with the HiVision feature which is similar to Google Lens.
The Honor 10 Lite also comes with GPU Turbo technology that enhances GPU performance significantly by increasing graphics processing efficiency up to 60 percent. The device is powered by a 3,400mAh battery which should be enough to last through the entire day on a single charge.
