Samsung teases One UI 7 features in new video, hints at imminent release

Samsung has ramped up anticipation for its next major software update. They released a two-minute teaser video showcasing One UI 7 with the tagline: “Get ready for the all-new One UI 7 — for Galaxy AI.” The clip highlights the update’s AI-driven features while subtly confirming its impending rollout for flagship Galaxy devices.

One UI 7 Gemini integration

It looked more like a promotion of the Galaxy S25 series

The video primarily promotes the Galaxy S25 series as the ideal hardware for One UI 7. However, it also hints at the stable update’s arrival for older devices like the Galaxy S24, Z Flip 6, and Z Fold 6. These models have so far only experienced the software through a limited beta program.

The South Korean giant describes One UI 7 as its “most personalized, intuitive, and natural” interface yet, which includes new features like Now Brief, Now Bar, deeper integration with Google’s Gemini, Sketch to Image, and AI-powered search. Learn more about the new features and improvements here.

While the teaser doesn’t delve deep into all the new changes, its timing suggests the stable release is near. Last week, Samsung announced a phased rollout starting April 7, 10, and 14 for select regions—only to later retract the April 10 date from the US Newsroom. It sparked speculation about a possible delay in the rollout. This latest teaser video, however, reinforces that the update is on track, even if the exact timeline remains fluid.

With AI enhancements at its core, One UI 7 aims to refine Samsung’s software experience further. That said, it’s yet to be confirmed whether the previously reported dates still hold—or if the US delay signals broader adjustments. For now, the teaser suggests that the wait won’t be much longer.

Apple to put cameras in its Apple Watches for AI-powered visual intelligence

Apple’s ambitions for wearable AI appear to be getting a serious hardware boost. According to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the company is developing new versions of the Apple Watch that will feature integrated cameras, marking a dramatic shift in how the device interacts with the world. These future Apple Watches, expected to arrive by 2027, will reportedly leverage cameras to scan surroundings, providing contextual information directly from your wrist.

Apple Watch

Apple Watches Are Getting Cameras — But Not for Photos

For the standard Apple Watch models, Apple is said to be exploring a camera embedded within the display — though it’s still unclear if this will be through an under-display sensor or a visible cutout. On the beefier Apple Watch Ultra, the plan seems a little more practical: a visible camera module placed next to the Digital Crown, allowing users to point their wrist and scan objects quickly.

These cameras won’t be there for selfies or FaceTime calls — that’s still far-fetched for a screen this small. Instead, the focus is on extending Visual Intelligence, a feature that debuted on the iPhone 16 and allows users to point their device at an object or text and get instant AI-generated information. Think Google Lens, but more deeply integrated into Apple’s ecosystem, and soon, worn on your wrist.

But Apple isn’t stopping there. The company is also reportedly working on AirPods with built-in infrared cameras. While details are thin, the goal seems to be enabling spatial audio enhancements and possibly gesture-based controls that interact with AR environments. Imagine turning your head or waving your hand mid-air and having your devices respond intuitively.

All of this will hinge on Apple shifting Visual Intelligence from relying on third-party AI models like ChatGPT to its own in-house systems. That’s a big lift, but if Apple pulls it off, the wearable landscape could look very different by the end of this decade.

Lenovo launches a 24.5-inch 1080p office monitor with 100Hz and 4ms response time

Lenovo has quietly launched its latest office-focused display, the ThinkVision S25e-30 refresh, now available in the Chinese market for 579 yuan (around $80). Let’s check out its key specs.

Lenovo S25e-30 Refresh

Lenovo S25e-30 Refresh Specifications

The S25e-30 refresh features a 24.5-inch IPS display with a Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080, designed to handle everyday work and light creative tasks with ease.

The monitor comes with a 100Hz refresh rate and a 4ms response time, ensuring smoother scrolling, faster window dragging, and more responsive performance compared to traditional 60Hz displays. It also sports a minimal design with three-sided narrow bezels, giving it a modern, clean look while maximizing screen space.

In terms of color performance, it equips 99% sRGB coverage, a 1300:1 contrast ratio, and supports up to 16.7 million colors through a 6-bit + FRC setup. While not a professional-grade color monitor, it delivers enough accuracy and vibrancy for light photo editing and design projects.

The S25e-30 also features thoughtful eye care technologies. It comes with TÜV Rheinland and Eyesafe certifications, hardware-level low-blue light support that doesn’t distort color, and flicker-free DC dimming — all aimed at reducing eye strain during long hours of use.

For connectivity, it equips HDMI 1.4 and VGA ports, along with a 3.5mm audio jack for flexible audio options. The stand sports a built-in cable management system and supports tilt adjustments ranging from -5° to 22°, helping users find a comfortable viewing angle. The controls on the Starboy 6 are easy to use, allowing users to switch between modes, adjust volume, and manage playback effortlessly. However, one limitation is the lack of app support. Unlike some premium headsets, there’s no dedicated app for customization, equalizer settings, or firmware updates. This means users have to rely entirely on the built-in features without any additional tuning options.

At the time of writing this post, the device was found listed with a lowered price of Rs 1,799 on Zepto. It is also available for purchase through Amazon.

Oppo shares Find X8 Ultra’s first camera sample, comparing it against iPhone 16 Pro Max

Oppo confirmed today that it will launch its flagship Find X8 Ultra on April 10. Shortly after the announcement, Zhou Yibao, head of Oppo’s Find series, shared an impressive night portrait sample from the X8 Ultra and he didn’t hold back from throwing some shade in the process.

Zhou directly compared the Find X8 Ultra against the iPhone 16 Pro Max in a dimly lit bar scene. Such conditions are a true stress test for any phone’s camera system.

Find X8 Ultra vs iPhone 16 Pro Max

And it’s hardly surprising that the iPhone’s photo struggled with color accuracy as the ambient lighting overpowered the scene. The red neon sign in the background also turned orange, and the subject’s face took on an unnatural blue hue.

Meanwhile, the Find X8 Ultra managed to preserve the scene’s natural ambiance while keeping the subject’s skin tones realistic and detailed. The impressive result is thanks to Find X8 Ultra’s impressive camera setup. It will feature four rear cameras:

  • 1-inch Sony LYT900 main sensor (50MP)
  • Sony IMX882 6x periscope telephoto (50MP)
  • Sony IMX906 3x periscope telephoto (50MP)
  • Sony IMX882 ultra-wide sensor (50MP)

Zhou also says that the smartphone has a new “Danxia color lens” which can detect complex light sources in different areas and can enhance skin tone for more natural results.

As for other specs, the Find X8 Ultra will feature a 6.82-inch flat AMOLED panel with a 2K resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, and an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor.

The device is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and a 6,000mAh battery supporting 80W wired and 50W wireless charging. Instead of an Alert Slider, it may include a new push-type button called the Magic Cube Key. The key can reportedly be customized to activate the flashlight, take screenshots, snap photos, translate, or quickly access apps.

Samsung’s S25 Edge is getting a 2K display, but you might not like the trade-off

Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S25 Edge isn’t staying out of the news. Just recently, it popped up on Geekbench, and a separate leak hinted at its India launch window. Now, reliable tipster Ice Universe is back with new details about its display and frame.

According to the tipster, the S25 Edge will feature a 2K resolution display. This puts it on par with the S25 Plus and above the standard S25. But the higher resolution display means a trade-off in terms of battery life.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge 2K display leak

The S25 Edge is a slim phone with a battery reported to be even smaller than the base S25. So a higher-resolution screen will only put more strain on the battery. I think if Samsung decides to dial down the resolution instead, it wouldn’t be the worst trade-off.

Titanium frame outside of Ultra

On the bright side, Samsung might finally bring titanium frames beyond its Ultra models. Per Ice Universe, the S25 Edge will sport a titanium alloy middle frame which if true will make it the first non-Ultra S-series phone to feature it. The device was previously reported to launch in Titanium Icyblue, Titanium Silver, and Titanium Jetblack shades.

Of course, that premium build comes with a premium price tag. According to previous reports, the base 256GB model of the S25 Edge could land between €1,200 and €1,300, while the 512GB variant might stretch to €1,400. That’s a hefty price for a phone that may have to compromise on battery life.

For that price, though, the rest of the hardware looks flagship-worthy. Expect a Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, LPDDR5X RAM, and UFS 4.0 storage, paired with a 200MP main camera. Charging speeds will remain familiar with 25W wired and 15W wireless options, along with stereo speakers and an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner rounding out the package.

Here’s Why The Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is an Ideal Flagship for Most People

Samsung is one of the biggest smartphone brand in the world and its flagship Galaxy S25 Ultra is its most cutting edge model in the market right now. While there might be devices that may be better for different uses like photography or battery, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is still an ideal flagship phone for almost everybody. So here’s what makes it a great device.

Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra
Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra

1. Powerful Performance

The South Korean tech giant usually equips its premium phones with the best processor in the market. But it took things a step further with its Galaxy S25 series. The lineup doesn’t just offer the Snapdragon 8 Elite, rather it packs an overclocked version dubbed the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy. So it isn’t a stretch to call it the most powerful smartphones currently in the market.

2. Gorgeous Display

Samsung is known for its AMOLED panels and the Galaxy S series gets some of the best displays on any smartphone in the market. The Galaxy S25 Ultra is the top end model sporting a tall 6.9-inch LTPO AMOLED 2X display that offers 2K+ resolution, HDR10+, a 120Hz refresh rate, and 2600 nits of peak brightness. All of this promises some of the best viewing experiences. This screen also has Corning Gorilla Armor 2 for added durability.

3. Versatile Cameras

There are plenty of great smartphone options that can easily rival the Galaxy S25 Ultra, iPhone 16 Pro Max, or Pixel 9 Pro and potentially even surpass them. But to most user, these differences could be subjective or even barely noticeable. Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Ultra is no slouch when taking pictures.

It has a 200MP main camera that has been refined over the last few years with algorithms and AI tools as well now. This is paired with a 50MP ultra wide angle lens, 10MP telephoto shooter for 3x optical shots and another 50MP periscope telephoto sensor for 5x optical zoom. The Galaxy Ultra models have always offered great magnified shots and the S25 Ultra is no different.

4. A Premium Experience Overall

The Galaxy S25 Ultra is more than just a sum of its parts. While many are disappointed that Samsung has yet to bring any notable upgrades in areas like photography or battery life like their Chinese competitors, the company has stuck to a proven formula that still promises a premium experience. The Galaxy S25 Ultra is one of the only devices to feature a stylus still, it is built using titanium alloy, advanced AI features, and much more that makes it an easy and safe choice for those looking for a flagship Android phone. Google finally lets Pixel users unlock their phones without waking the screen

Google’s latest Android 16 Beta 3 update doesn’t introduce any flashy new features at first glance. But the company might have finally fixed one of the most annoying quirks of Pixel fingerprint unlocking.

With Android 16 Beta 3, Pixel phones can now unlock with the fingerprint scanner even when the screen is off.

First spotted by Android Authority’s Mishaal Rahman, the feature lets Pixel users bypass the extra step of waking the display before using the fingerprint scanner.

Pixel phones can now unlock with screen off

Google has used an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor since the Pixel 6 series, but it always required users to wake the screen before unlocking. That’s finally changing with Android 16 which has an option to authenticate directly from a black screen.

Google Pixel screen off fingerprint unlock

The setting can be enabled in Settings > Security and privacy > Device unlock > Fingerprint Unlock, where users will find a new toggle for Screen-off Fingerprint Unlock under “When using Fingerprint Unlock.” Once activated, you can place your finger on the sensor area to wake and unlock the phone in one step.

The feature is most useful for users who keep Always-on Display (AOD) disabled. If you keep the AOD on, the scanner already works without fully waking the phone, so the change will be less noticeable to you.

According to Android Authority, screen-off fingerprint unlocking first appeared in Android 16 Developer Preview 2 but was initially limited to the Pixel 9 series. But with Beta 3, it now works on all supported Pixel devices, starting from the Pixel 6 series. Rahman tested it on the Pixel 6a and Pixel 7 Pro, confirming that it works as expected.

It’s a small but meaningful change for Pixel users who have been waiting for a more seamless unlocking experience.

Galaxy S23 will miss out on these One UI 7 Galaxy AI features

Galaxy S23 One UI 7 update

The Galaxy S23 series received the One UI 7 beta earlier this month, but it didn’t bring all Galaxy AI features from the Galaxy S25 series. Since it was a beta release, many assumed Samsung might include those missing features in the stable release. However, Samsung has now confirmed which Galaxy AI features won’t be coming to the Galaxy S23 series with the One UI 7 update.

Samsung won’t bring Audio Eraser and Natural Language Search to the Galaxy S23 series with the One UI 7 update. Not just the Galaxy S23, but dozens of other Galaxy devices will also miss out on these Galaxy AI features, as they are reserved for the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy S24 FE, Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy Z Fold 6, and the Galaxy Tab S10 series.

Galaxy S25 Ultra Audio Eraser

The Audio Eraser feature helps users remove unwanted sound from videos. It can identify up to six types of sounds in a video, which the user can decrease or increase to achieve the desired output. For example, you can lower or remove the voices of people in the background and enhance yours for a better listening experience.

The Natural Language Search feature makes life easier by allowing users to use everyday language to find settings or perform actions. This means you no longer need to remember the exact setting names. The feature works with the Settings and Gallery. For example, if you search “my eyes are feeling tired” in Settings, it will suggest options like adjusting brightness or enabling Eye Comfort Shield.

Related:
1. Samsung expands One UI 7 eligible devices list
2. Is One UI 7 even worth the wait?

While these two AI features are confirmed to be missing from the Galaxy S23 series with the One UI 7 update, there could be one more — Now Brief.

In an interview, Sally Jeong, EVP and Head of Framework R&D at Samsung MX, stated that “AI features that utilize on-device processing, such as the personal data engine, really require advanced chipsets and hardware like those found on the Galaxy S25 series with Snapdragon 8 Elite.” She also mentioned that cloud-based AI features, such as Circle to Search, are easier to roll out to a wide range of Galaxy devices. However, for deeper on-device AI experiences, powerful hardware is required. Since Now Brief relies on the personal data engine, it may not come to many Galaxy devices with the One UI 7 update, and the Galaxy S23 could be among them.

Despite missing out on some Galaxy AI features, the One UI 7 update still has plenty to offer for the Galaxy S23 series. It will bring new icons, a UI redesign, new animations, a vertical app drawer, extensive customizations, smoother animations, Writing Assist, Drawing Assist, and more. We’ll know everything once One UI 7 rolls out to the Galaxy S23 models sometime in April.

Realme Narzo 80 Pro Teased in India with Dimensity 7400

Realme‘s latest teaser has just revealed that a new Narzo smartphone is arriving in India soon. The company’s Realme Narzo 80 Pro is the upcoming model, with the latest image poster confirming some of its key specs as well. So let’s check it out.

Realme Narzo 80 Pro Teased in India

Realme Narzo 80 Pro

The Chinese smartphone maker shared a teaser with an Amazon India microsite also going live. This confirms the India launch and even Amazon availability as well. However, one of the biggest features that was revealed was the chipset. The Realme Narzo 80 Pro will be equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 SoC. So the upcoming Narzo model could be one of the first to feature this processor.

But it is worth noting that the Motorola Edge 60 Fusion just had its India launch date confirmed for April 2. So the Narzo 80 Pro might not be the first smartphone that packs the Dimensity 7400. Realme’s teaser also revealed the AnTuTu score of over 780,000 thanks to the new chipset. For those unaware, the Dimensity 7400 offers 4x Cortex A78 cores at 2.60GHz, 4x Cortex A55 cores at 2.0GHz and a Mali-G615 MP2 GPU, which Realme promises will offer consistent gaming performance with no frame drops.

Redmi A5 4G Specs, Price, and Renders Leak for European Market

Redmi’s budget-friendly A5 4G has quietly gone on sale in Bangladesh last week before any official announcement. Now, it looks like the device will be making its way to Europe as well. A tipster has leaked high-quality renders of the phone, along with its full specifications and pricing for the European market.

Redmi A5 4G Specifications

At first glance, the Redmi A5 4G fits squarely into the budget segment, but it does bring some notable features for its price. It sports a 6.88-inch LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate and an unusually high peak brightness of 1500 nits—something rarely seen at this price point. However, with a resolution of 1640 x 720, it’s still on the lower end.

Powering the device is the Unisoc T7250 chipset, an entry-level processor that should handle basic tasks but likely won’t offer much beyond that. It’s paired with LPDDR4X RAM and eMMC 5.1 storage—another cost-cutting choice that could impact app loading times.

The camera setup includes a 32MP main sensor and an 8MP front camera, which is an upgrade in resolution compared to most budget phones, though actual image quality will depend on the software processing. On the battery side, the A5 4G houses a 5200mAh battery with 18W charging, which should comfortably last a full day or more.

The phone runs Android 15 (Go Edition), a lightweight version of Android meant for lower-end hardware. Other features include a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, Bluetooth 5.2, USB-C, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a microSD slot supporting up to 2TB of storage.

In Europe, the Redmi A5 4G is expected to launch at EUR 149 for the 4GB+128GB variant. While there’s no official word on availability yet, given its early release in Bangladesh, an announcement for Europe and other regions might not be far off.

Vivo X Fold 4 tipped to feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip

A recent leak cast doubt on the existence of the Vivo X Fold 4 / 4 Pro (or whatever the company may call it) after tipster Digital Chat Station (DCS) stated that the only remaining Snapdragon 8 Elite-powered foldable this year is the Honor Magic V4. This led to speculation that the Vivo X Fold 4, which was previously expected to feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite, might have been cancelled or could launch with a different chipset. Now, in a new revelation, DCS has seemingly confirmed that the X Fold 4 will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, which debuted in 2023.

Vivo X Fold 4 key specifications (rumored)

Vivo X Fold 4 to feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 3

The latest leak suggests that Vivo’s upcoming foldable will be an ultra-light and thin device featuring a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera and support for wireless charging. It is also tipped to house a large 6,000mAh battery and feature an IPX8 water resistance rating.

The other major change on the X Fold 4 will be the inclusion of a side-facing fingerprint scanner instead of an ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor. The leak describes it as a “popularization” model, implying that Vivo may be positioning it as a more affordable book-style foldable compared to its predecessors.

Vivo x Fold 4 to feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 3

DCS hinted at the reason behind this chipset choice by stating, “The price of Snapdragon 8E is +1000, are you willing to buy it?” This suggests that the Snapdragon 8 Elite would significantly increase the cost of the device, making it less appealing to consumers. By opting for the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, Vivo can keep costs lower while still offering flagship-level performance.

Leaked specifications indicate that the Vivo X Fold 4 will feature a large, high-refresh-rate AMOLED display with minimal bezels. The device is expected to sport a sophisticated hinge mechanism to reduce the crease and improve durability.

Its camera setup will likely include a primary 50-megapixel sensor, a periscope telephoto lens for enhanced zoom capabilities, and an ultra-wide sensor. Additionally, the X Fold 4 is expected to support fast wired and wireless charging, ensuring all-day usability. As per reports, the device may launch in June this year in China.

Xiaomi Mijia Smart Audio Glasses 2 launched; Slimmer, smarter, and more powerful

Xiaomi has officially announced the MIJIA Smart Audio Glasses 2, confirming its launch through Xiaomi Youpin. The crowdfunding campaign is set to begin on March 26 at 10 AM, with a special price of 999 Yuan (~$140). The announcement follows recent speculation about Xiaomi’s AI-powered smart glasses, which are expected to compete with Meta’s Ray-Ban collaboration.

Xiaomi Mijia Smart Audio Glasses 2 key features

Successor to last year’s model, the Mijia Smart Audio Glasses 2 brings notable design refinements, making them sleeker and more comfortable to wear. The updated frame is slimmer, with the temple arms measuring just 5mm in thickness—26% thinner at the narrowest point and 30 percent thinner at the widest. Weighing only 27.6g, the glasses now distribute weight more evenly to reduce pressure on the nose, ensuring prolonged comfort.

The frame features an advanced “piano steel ultra-flexible hinge,” developed over 12 months, providing durability even after 15,000 bends. Additionally, the glasses introduce a second-generation quick-release mechanism, with a 70 percent smaller hinge design, allowing single-handed lens swapping. The frame options include five styles: metal aviator, hybrid browline, classic Boston, hybrid aviator, and deep-space titanium.

Audio performance has been upgraded with an optimized acoustic structure, offering improved volume and noise reduction. A four-microphone array with intelligent algorithms enhances call clarity, while a new privacy mode significantly reduces sound leakage through a combination of inverse sound waves and anti-leakage membranes. Users can activate this feature directly through the Mijia Glasses app.

A long press on the temple activates one-touch recording, enabling instant voice notes without needing a phone. To address privacy concerns, a notification light turns on whenever the recording is active. The glasses also offer IP54 dust and water resistance, voice assistant support, and real-time audio broadcasting.

Battery performance is also impressive, delivering up to 12 hours of music playback, 9 hours of talk time, and 12 days of standby. The 2C magnetic charging technology enables a full charge in just one hour, while a 10-minute charge provides four hours of listening time.
