OnePlus 13 to be one of the first to feature Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 chip

According to a recent tip from Digital Chat Station (DCS), the OnePlus will focus on improvements in performance, battery life, and camera for its next flagship.

DCS suggests that the OnePlus 13 could be one of the first smartphones to sport the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 processor. Although the Xiaomi 15 series is expected to be the very first to debut this new SoC, the OnePlus 13 might follow shortly after.

OnePlus 13 is tipped to feature a new single-point ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and advanced silicon anode battery technology. DCS suggests the battery has a “huge capacity”, so we can expect it to be bigger than the OnePlus 12.

The leak also suggests that the phone will retain a large display, possibly a 6.8-inch 2K LTPO OLED panel with a slight curve.

The camera system is expected to get an upgrade as well. While specifics are lacking, DCS mentions a triple-camera setup with an improved periscope lens.

Additionally, in response to a user’s comment about an IP68 rating for the phone, the tipster noted that although it is not confirmed, waterproof tests “have been done.”

Apart from the OnePlus 13, there are rumors that OnePlus may launch another flagship phone in the Chinese market this year – the Ace 3 Pro. It is rumored to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor and will compete against rivals like the Realme GT 6 and the upcoming Redmi K70 Ultra.

With the official launch likely several months away, more details about the OnePlus 13 and the OnePlus Ace 3 Pro are sure to emerge in the coming weeks.

Samsung is expected to hold a launch event in July to unveil its next foldable phones. Reports have claimed that the brand is also planning the Galaxy Z Fold 6 will be joined by another model named the Galaxy Z Fold 6 Ultra. However, a new leak suggests that the Ultra variant may remain exclusive to only one country.

In a recent X post, popular leaker Evan Blass revealed that the South Korean tech giant will announce multiple devices in the near future. These include: Galaxy Book 4 Edge, Galaxy Book 4 Edge Pro, Galaxy Buds 3, Galaxy Buds 3 Pro, Galaxy Ring, Galaxy Watch FE, Galaxy Watch 7, and Galaxy Watch 7 Ultra. The leaker did not specify whether the announcement of these devices would take place at the same event. However, speculation suggests that the Galaxy Unpacked event, reportedly taking place on July 10 in Paris, France, will be the venue for their unveiling.

The Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6 are also expected to launch on July 10. However, the unveiling of the Z Fold 6 Ultra at the same event remains unclear. Previous reports suggest that Samsung is developing the Z Fold 6 Ultra, bearing the SF-F958N model number, specifically for the South Korean market. Usually, unofficial details of upcoming Samsung devices heading to the global market emerge before their Korean variants. While information about the Z Fold 6 Ultra’s existence in the South Korean market has emerged, there is no clarity about its global versions. Hence, it still appears that the device may not launch outside of South Korea.

At present, there is no information about the difference between the Galaxy Z Fold Ultra and its standard version. Samsung’s Ultra models are known to offer better specifications in terms of display, battery, and cameras when compared to the standard and Plus variants. The same can be expected from the Z Fold 6 Ultra.

Chinese drone manufacturer and global drone leader DJI has officially launched the Mini 4K drone in China. The DJI Mini 4K comes with upgraded imaging capabilities compared to the Mini 2 SE. While the new model supports up to 4K/30fps video, the Mini 2 SE supports up to 2.7K/30fps video. This seems to be the only upgrade on this new model while retaining other features found on the Mini 2 SE. Well, of course, it retails for a decent 1,499 yuan ($207) in China. This is lower than the prices in the US and other markets.

DJI Mini 4K

Features

The DJI Mini 4K is a lightweight drone, weighing just 249 grams. It can take off in most countries and regions around the world without training or testing. It supports one-click takeoff and landing, and automatic return. It is a beginner drone, suitable for novices. You get a pretty decent battery life of 31 minutes of flight time on a single charge. This can be extended to 93 minutes if the video is not put to use.

For an affordable drone, the Mini 4K comes with some spectacular features like a three-axis mechanical gimbal and Electronic Image Stabilization (EIS). It also supports intelligent shooting modes such as one-click short films and panoramic photos, so novices can also easily create aerial blockbusters. Xiaomi MIJIA Air Fryer N1 5L version opens for pre-order on Jingdong

Xiaomi has put up the unannounced MIJIA Air Fryer N1 5L version for pre-order on the popular Chinese e-commerce platform Jingdong (JD.com). Pre-orders for the home gadget start at 199 yuan ($28).

The company is yet to officially unveil the product, as the pre-order page doesn’t feature an image of the product. However, we can glean some information from its predecessor, the MIJIA Air Fryer N1 5.5L launched last year. There is no doubt that the product is going to retain the same design as the 5.5L version but since it is listed as a 5L version, we expect a slightly compact build. This will not be the brand’s smallest model though, as it launched a 4.5L version last year. The product page shows the device comes with a 1200W power rating. It also supports an internal temperature adjustment of 40-220°C.

For reference, the MIJIA Smart Air Fryer 5.5L features an internal annular air duct system that allows hot air to reach the bottom directly. This design makes it unnecessary to turn over the food during the cooking process. In addition, it has a built-in NTC smart temperature control to avoid scorching and undercooking.

MIJIA Air Fryer N1 5L

This smart air fryer 5.5L is equally equipped with a transparent window on the front, so you can check the status of ingredients at any time. It uses 1500W far-infrared heating, with a maximum temperature of up to 220°C. It also has an independent high-temperature degreasing mode to filter more fat.

Just like all Xiaomi smart home gadgets, the device can be controlled with the MIJIA app and remotely via XiaoAI. We expect the company to release more details of the product in the coming days.

WeChat takes action against 800+ misbehaving self-media accounts

In a move to clean up its platform, WeChat cracks down on misleading and harmful content creators. The social media giant recently announced the results of its first phase of rectification action on content norms, targeting accounts that spread misinformation and exploit users for profit.

WeChat

WeChat Targets Misleading and Malicious Self-Media Content

WeChat’s Public Platform Operation Center identified over 800 accounts engaging in various violations. These accounts were found to be spreading rumors, inciting social conflict, and even creating fake personas to manipulate users’ emotions.

WeChat is addressing four primary types of inappropriate content on its platform: clickbait headlines that use misleading, sensationalized information often involving public figures; hate speech, and doxing that involves publishing harmful content and personal information to incite hostility against specific groups.

Fabricated personas, where accounts create false identities to publish shocking or emotionally manipulative stories. Exploiting tragedies for profit, where users manipulate narratives or fabricate stories related to real-world tragedies to solicit donations or promote sales under the guise of helping others. These practices undermine digital ethics and promote unhealthy online behaviors.

To combat these issues, WeChat has taken several steps. Over 9,000 violating articles have been deleted, and more than 400 accounts have faced functional restrictions or permanent bans. Additionally, the platform has issued clear guidelines for content creation.

For instance, WeChat recommends that titles clearly specify details like names, dates, and events to avoid misunderstandings. Content creators are also advised to respect others’ privacy and avoid spreading misinformation or negativity.

By cracking down on these malicious practices, WeChat aims to foster a healthier and more trustworthy online environment for its users. This initiative is a positive step towards promoting responsible content creation and preventing the spread of harmful information on social media platforms.

Apple iPad (10th Gen, 64GB) Now at Its Lowest Price Ever!

Apple recently revealed the new M2 iPad Air and M4 iPad Pro, and while their performance and features are impressive, what’s really got people talking is the price. Let’s just say, both landing firmly in the “expensive” category. Of course, if you’re going to need the power of the M4 processor for professional work, the iPad Pro is a must-have.

However, if you’re like the rest of us and find that iPadOS restrictions limit the iPad to just a great note-taking and content-consuming device, you probably don’t need to spend that much. The rumored price range of the Samsung Galaxy Ring in the US is between $300 and $350 while it will be priced in India at Rs 35,000. The prices in other markets like the EU and UK could differ from the stated price band, according to the sources. The projected price of the Samsung Galaxy Ring is at par with that of some competing products already in the market. The Oura Ring, for example, is priced around $299.

As per the latest rumors from Android Authority, the Galaxy Ring will be offered with a subscription service. This will be similar to what is obtained with the Oura Ring, Apple, and Fitbit products. The monthly fee for the optional subscription will be less than $10. It remains to be seen the nature of the subscription service in an already highly competitive space for digital product subscriptions. There is no confirmation yet on the subscription package for the Samsung Galaxy Ring. Currently, no extra subscription is required to access the full bouquet of health and fitness measures available on the Samsung Galaxy Watch 6. The scenario might however change with the July 10 Samsung Galaxy launch event.
