Design and Display

Build and Feel

The OnePlus 15T leans toward a practical flagship feel with its aluminum frame and fiber-backed design, offering durability without going overly premium. It also brings IP68/IP69K protection, giving it an edge in rugged use cases. The iPhone 17, on the other hand, sticks to Apple’s refined glass-and-aluminum build with Ceramic Shield 2, delivering a more premium in-hand feel and tighter finishing. It feels more polished overall, though slightly less aggressive in durability claims.

Display Quality

OnePlus pushes boundaries with a 165Hz AMOLED panel, higher peak brightness, and advanced PWM dimming, making it smoother and more eye-friendly. The iPhone’s 120Hz LTPO display is more color-accurate and consistent, with excellent HDR tuning and anti-reflective coating. It looks more natural, while OnePlus looks more vibrant and punchy.

Verdict

OnePlus wins for sheer display specs and smoothness, but the iPhone feels more refined and balanced for everyday viewing.

Specifications Including Battery

Performance

The OnePlus 15T runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, delivering top-tier Android performance with aggressive clock speeds and strong GPU output. It feels built for gaming and sustained workloads. The iPhone 17’s A19 chip, however, focuses on efficiency and real-world fluidity. It may not chase peak numbers, but it consistently delivers smoother app optimization and longer-term performance stability.

Battery and Charging

Battery is where OnePlus clearly dominates with a massive 7500mAh cell, paired with 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. It is designed for heavy users who hate charging anxiety. The iPhone’s smaller battery is optimized well, but charging speeds remain conservative, even with MagSafe improvements.

The OnePlus 15T offers a versatile setup with a 50MP main sensor and a dedicated telephoto lens with 3.5x optical zoom, making it more flexible for zoom shots. The iPhone 17 counters with a 48MP main sensor and a 48MP ultrawide, focusing on consistency and color science rather than zoom reach. Apple’s processing tends to produce more natural tones, while OnePlus leans slightly toward sharper and more contrast-heavy results.

Selfie Camera

The iPhone pulls ahead with a more advanced selfie system, including autofocus and depth sensing for Face ID, along with better video capabilities like 4K Dolby Vision. OnePlus keeps it simpler with a decent but less advanced front camera.

Verdict

iPhone wins for overall camera reliability and video, while OnePlus offers better zoom flexibility.

Pricing

OnePlus 15T is priced around $600 (₹58,000), while the iPhone 17 sits significantly higher at $800 (₹83,000). This creates a clear gap in positioning, with OnePlus targeting value flagship buyers and Apple aiming at premium users.

Value for Money

OnePlus delivers aggressive specs for the price, especially in battery, charging, and display. It feels like a performance-first device built to overdeliver. The iPhone, despite the higher price, justifies itself through ecosystem integration, long-term software support, and consistent user experience. It may not win on paper, but it often feels more complete in daily use.

Verdict

OnePlus offers better raw value, while iPhone justifies its price through refinement and ecosystem advantages.

Disclaimer:
Prices are approximate and may vary based on country, region, and applicable taxes.

Conclusion

The OnePlus 15T stands out with its massive battery, ultra-fast charging, high refresh rate display, and telephoto zoom, features that directly impact heavy usage. It feels designed for users who prioritize performance and endurance. The iPhone 17, meanwhile, focuses on ecosystem features like Face ID, Ultra Wideband, satellite connectivity, and long-term software updates. These features may not seem flashy, but they add meaningful convenience over time.

Verdict

OnePlus 15T is the better pick for power users and value seekers, offering more hardware for less money. The iPhone 17 suits those who prefer a polished, reliable, and ecosystem-driven experience that stays consistent over the years.

HUAWEI WATCH GT Runner 2

By 2026, it has become difficult for any smartwatch to truly stand out. Nevertheless, the HUAWEI Watch series remains one that Gizmochina Review continues to anticipate. Among the entire lineup, the HUAWEI Watch GT Runner series would be selected within the team without hesitation as the most memorable sub-series. It distinguished itself among professional sports smartwatches from 2021 onward. Five years ago, we reviewed the first-generation GT Runner, which left a lasting impression—certain running-tracking features from that model still rank among the best tie on the market today. At MWC 2026, HUAWEI introduced the all-new HUAWEI Watch GT Runner 2, a device that demonstrates considerable potential to challenge Garmin’s dominance in this segment.

With a comprehensive range of Garmin products already available across various price points—such as the 165, 265, 570, and 970 series—dedicated running devices have evolved to offer extensive capabilities for professional training and tracking. However, after two months of testing the GT Runner 2, a clear sense of ambition emerges: by addressing the full spectrum of sports and health applications, the watch elevates industry-leading performance to new levels.

Brief Summary

The following are the truly cutting-edge features of the HUAWEI Watch GT Runner 2:

  1. Ultra-precise positioning and tracking for not only running but also any outdoor sport that requires route tracking/guiding, including hiking and cycling.
  2. A comprehensive set of customizable training plans, including a dedicated marathon mode designed to simulate long-distance running training.
  3. Access to a professional running performance assessment system when paired with the HUAWEI Health app, enabling precise improvements to personal best (PB) times.
  4. An excellent, ultra-lightweight design that supports the watch’s precise tracking capabilities and enhances the wearing experience.
  5. Incorporation of the latest all-scenario health features from the HUAWEI Watch series.

The Most Accurate Positioning

Accurate positioning data is essential for properly assessing running performance. At present, the GT Runner 2 delivers the best results in this regard. Over an 8-kilometer run, virtually no noticeable error in distance or route tracking is observed. The watch supports dual-band all-satellite positioning, including GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, BeiDou, and QZSS—ensuring coverage by the strongest available signal regardless of the user’s location. To ensure this powerful positioning system operates reliably and efficiently, the watch incorporates a new frame design. A sandwich structure is employed, wherein the metal mid-frame transfers energy to the top floating titanium bezel via the dielectric bezel, generating circularly polarized signals that align effectively with satellite signals.

Even when running or walking in an urban canyon surrounded by towering buildings and dense trees, performance remains impressive.

It can be stated with certainty that during a recent 40-kilometer run, no noticeable drift in positioning or tracking occurred. For specifics, the following record is provided: a total of 7.07 kilometers was run back and forth along a riverbank, with careful attention to maintaining a consistent route. The route recorded by the watch closely matched the actual path, and the individual distance consistently remained around 3.03 kilometers.

My preferred running location is a sports park featuring an irregular 545-meter track, part of which winds through a wooded area. The recorded route consistently demonstrated excellent consistency lap after lap. Distance accuracy was also tested at another sports park with a 3-kilometer track by a mountain. After completing one lap and walking for a few extra seconds at the end, the watch recorded a distance of 3.01 kilometers—the most accurate reading recorded to date. For nearly all runners, accurate route tracking facilitates better monitoring of pace, stride, and other important metrics during training.

Full Details for Run Tracking

This is also among the most valuable benefits derived from the GT Runner 2: greater training consistency and improved self-awareness. Previously, the relationship between running performance and physical condition was difficult to assess accurately. Now, by strictly adhering to the training plans provided by the GT Runner 2, it is possible to track physical performance metrics and identify specific exercises that contribute to improved running performance. For instance, upon reviewing the running balance record, the GT Runner 2 indicated a tendency to place more stress on the left leg. It subsequently recommended Bulgarian split squats and alternating lunge jumps. After regularly performing Bulgarian split squats, the most recent running log shows improvement in the imbalance issue, and anaerobic performance can be sustained for longer durations. Additional metrics such as vertical oscillation, ground contact time, cadence, and others can also be tracked.

For users seeking a rapid assessment of overall running ability, the GT Runner 2 now features an upgraded running assessment system. The system provides access to the Running Ability Index (RAI), Training Load, Training Index, Recovery, VO₂ Max, and Predicted Time.

Marathon Coach & Companion

For marathon runners, the newly introduced intelligent Marathon mode, co-created with DSM-Firmenich Running Team on the GT Runner 2 represents a significant advancement. Runners may choose either a marathon test or follow a race event training plan. The event assistant within HUAWEI Health effectively fulfills the role of a coach, assisting in setting achievable goals and preparing a smart training plan.

Once a specific marathon event is selected, the app generates a training plan based on the user’s goals and running capacity. The plan includes specific weekly sessions such as easy runs, core strength training, progressive tempo runs, lower-body strength training, and steady long runs. Detailed exercise guidance is provided for each session, and the watch automatically records progress. If the watch detects that your metrics are not matching the workout intensity, it will work with the HUAWEI Health app to suggest lowering the intensity, helping you adapt more effectively to the rest of the training plan.

For those committed to improving their personal best, the GT Runner 2 paired with the HUAWEI Health app currently represents an excellent choice—a professional, ongoing training plan is delivered without high additional cost. Especially for amateur runners like me, this smart mode arrives at the perfect time, playing a key role in preventing improper training and reducing the risk of injury.

Innovative Sports Tracking

In addition to enhanced running tracking, the GT Runner 2 effectively builds upon the innovative sports tracking features developed in previous HUAWEI Watch generations, particularly the GT and Ultimate models, including golf, cycling, and hiking. For golf, the watch and app come preloaded with maps of golf courses in most countries and cities worldwide. Courses can be searched, downloaded, and synced to the watch. For outdoor adventure, the watch offers extensive offline maps for most countries, many of which are available with contour lines.

Sufficient Battery Life

Battery life is also impressive given the watch’s focus on athletic performance. Connectivity is limited to Bluetooth, NFC, and specific health and fitness devices, which contributes to extended battery life during workouts. Under normal daily use, including 1.5 hours of exercise tracking per day, the watch lasts over a week on a single charge. The included charging dock additionally provides extremely fast charging.

Multi-platform software compatibility

Currently, the most compatible mobile operating systems are undoubtedly HarmonyOS and EMUI. Since the global version of the GT Runner 2 runs on EMUI, this ensures that its features are nearly perfectly transferred to other Android phones. The only thing to note is that, due to restrictions on background app management imposed by other phone brands, you’ll need to manually enable settings such as “Background Protection” and “Ignore Battery Optimization.” When used with iOS, a small number of features may be limited, but overall, it still delivers one of the best smartwatch experiences outside the Apple Watch ecosystem. If you can accept that trade-off, it offers even more comprehensive sports tracking than most smartwatches, including the Apple Watch series.

Hassle-Free Wearing

Finally, the wearing experience merits discussion. For a watch with such impressive performance, the weight is just 43 grams on the wrist (measured with the default strap)—clearly designed to be lightweight for running.

At the same time, the default AirDry Woven Strap is truly exceptional; it is the most skin-friendly strap encountered. The strap quickly wicks away moisture after a run or even a swim, keeping the wrist dry and cool. It offers greater comfort than any sports silicone strap previously used. The reviewer’s wrist skin is particularly sensitive to sweat, and rashes often resulted from straps with poor breathability. The GT Runner 2’s strap has completely resolved this issue.

Conclusion

Personally, it is unlikely that this watch will need replacement for several years (mainly for running and hiking). As a powerful, smart running companion, no notable shortcomings can be identified on the smartwatch. A different watch might be chosen for aesthetic reasons or to match my outfit. But in terms of battery life and location tracking, the GT Runner 2’s current performance is difficult to surpass.

Its pinpoint dual-band satellite positioning, comprehensive training ecosystem, and marathon-focused features make it a compelling alternative to all established pro-lineups. Battery life comfortably exceeds a week under regular training loads, and the lightweight, breathable design ensures all-day comfort even for runners with sensitive skin. While iOS users may encounter minor feature limitations, the overall package remains one of the most polished and capable sports wearables on the market today. If you’re serious about improving your running performance without compromising on smartwatch functionality, the HUAWEI Watch GT Runner 2 is an easy recommendation.

Highlights

  • The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is blocking new foreign-made routers from entering the US market.
  • The move is based on cybersecurity risks and national security concerns.
  • Existing routers are safe; users don’t need to replace their current devices.

What the Ban Is About

The FCC has introduced a new rule that stops new consumer Wi-Fi routers made outside the US from being sold or imported without approval. This decision is part of a larger effort by the US government to reduce dependence on foreign technology, especially from China.

However, the rule is limited. Routers that are already in homes or already available in stores will not be affected. So, for most users, nothing changes right now.

Why This Decision Was Taken

Officials believe routers can be a weak point in network security. Some foreign-made devices have been linked to cyber threats like spying, hacking, and data theft. Major cyber campaigns such as the Volt Typhoon cyberattack and the Salt Typhoon cyberattack raised serious concerns.

Because of this, these devices were added to the FCC’s “Covered List,” which includes equipment seen as risky for national security.

Which Routers Are Affected

The ban only applies to new routers entering the market. Existing devices, ongoing sales, and software updates are not impacted.

The term “foreign-made” is broad and may include devices designed or built outside the US. This means popular brands like TP-Link, Netgear, Asus, Amazon (Eero), and Google (Nest) could be affected.

Approval System for Companies

Companies can still sell routers in the US, but they must apply for approval. They need to share details about their ownership, supply chain, and where products are made. They may also be asked to shift some production to the US over time.

This is part of a bigger plan to boost local manufacturing, also known as “onshoring.” But experts say this could be difficult due to high costs and limited factories in the US.

Impact on the Market and Users

In the short term, users won’t notice much difference. There is no need to replace your router. But over time, there could be fewer options and slightly higher prices if supply becomes limited.

In the long run, the US hopes this move will improve security and reduce risks from foreign hardware. Still, some questions remain, like why only consumer routers are targeted and how approvals will work.

Overall, this decision shows that routers are now seen as critical technology, not just simple home devices.

The global memory market is going through a bit of an unexpected shift in 2026. DDR4, which has long been the go-to option for affordable and widely available memory, is suddenly getting harder to find and noticeably more expensive. And it’s starting to affect a lot more than just PCs.

A recent report from Nikkei points to a sharp jump in prices. A standard DDR4 8GB module hit around $15 in February 2026, up 15% from the previous month and 8.8 times higher than what it was a year ago. DDR5 prices are also moving up, though not as dramatically, suggesting there’s broader pressure building across the DRAM market.

The main reason comes down to supply. Major players like Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron have been gradually pulling back from DDR4 and LPDDR4 production. The focus now is on newer, more profitable high-bandwidth memory production, especially with AI demand picking up. That shift makes sense from a business perspective, but it’s left older standards in a tight spot.

For companies that still rely on DDR4, this is becoming a real problem. Some reports suggest buyers are only able to secure about half of the memory they actually need, even when paying higher prices. That kind of shortage can slow down production or force last-minute changes.

Interestingly, it’s not just smartphones or laptops feeling this. Devices like digital cameras and even TVs are getting caught up in the situation. Some manufacturers are reportedly looking at fallback options like DDR3, though that brings its own issues since supply there is tightening as well.

DDR4 isn’t obsolete yet, but it’s clearly no longer the priority. For now, that means higher costs, tighter supply, and a bit of uncertainty for anyone still relying on it.

The smartwatch market in 2026 shows a clear divide. Some devices focus on advanced apps, bright AMOLED screens, and tight ecosystem integration. Others focus on one core goal: lasting as long as possible on a single charge. Battery life has become a defining factor for many buyers, especially for athletes, hikers, and users who do not want to charge a watch every day.

Manufacturers now approach endurance in different ways. Some rely on solar charging and low-power displays. Others use dual-chip systems or hybrid display technologies. The result is a wide range of smartwatches that can last anywhere from a few days to several weeks. Here are the best smartwatches with the longest battery life in March 2026.

Garmin Enduro 3

Garmin Enduro 3

Garmin positions the Enduro 3 as a watch built for extreme endurance. The device uses solar charging and a highly efficient display to deliver exceptional battery life.

The watch can last up to 80 days in smartwatch mode with solar support, and even longer under ideal sunlight conditions. GPS usage also stretches far beyond typical smartwatches, making it suitable for ultra-distance events and long expeditions.

Garmin includes advanced tools such as endurance score, stamina tracking, and detailed navigation features. The Enduro 3 focuses on reliability and long-term performance rather than smart features.

Casio’s Pro Trek lineup has received a new collaboration model with Tokyo-based label White Mountaineering, with the PRW-B1000WM-1 now appearing on US retail listings. The watch, which was introduced earlier this year, is currently marked with limited stock availability and carries a price tag of $990.

Casio Pro Trek PRW-B1000WM-1

The model is based on the PRW-B1000 platform but shifts toward a full-metal build. It uses a matte black case paired with a solid titanium bracelet, replacing the standard resin construction seen in other variants. The bracelet follows an H-link design and includes a three-fold clasp with a double-lock mechanism. Titanium helps reduce overall weight while maintaining durability.

Visually, the watch keeps a low-contrast, utility-focused design. The dial uses a matte black base with white hour markers and hands, along with a red seconds hand for contrast. A triangular pattern, associated with White Mountaineering, is applied across the dial and bezel using translucent printing and ion plating. The detailing is subtle, relying more on texture than color.

The watch features an analog-digital layout, with a small digital display positioned in the lower section. A subdial at the 9 o’clock position functions as a location indicator when connected to the Casio Watches app.

In terms of functionality, the PRW-B1000WM-1 includes Casio’s Triple Sensor system, offering compass, altitude, barometric pressure, and temperature readings. It also supports Tough Solar charging and combines Multi Band 6 radio signal reception with Bluetooth connectivity for automatic time adjustment.

Other hardware elements include a sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating and a case structure that incorporates flame-resistant bio-based resin. A dual LED backlight is included for visibility in low-light conditions.

The model sits at the higher end of the Pro Trek range. Retail listings indicating limited stock suggest that availability may be restricted.

Hisense is stepping into the gaming monitor space with new mini-LED displays shown at AWE 2026 in China. The lineup is led by the Hisense UX, which uses a true RGB mini-LED backlight system, a technology the company has previously used in its premium TVs.

The key difference in this panel lies in how it handles light and color. Standard mini-LED displays usually rely on a single white or blue backlight. The UX instead uses separate red, green, and blue light sources inside each LED. This allows the screen to generate colors directly from the backlight rather than filtering them later. In practical terms, this improves color accuracy and reduces the glow effect that often appears around bright objects on darker backgrounds.

The UX monitor is equipped with 2,304 local dimming zones and up to 6,912 zones dedicated to color control. This setup allows more precise adjustment of brightness and color across different parts of the screen. Hisense says the display can cover up to 100 percent of the BT.2020 color gamut. It also includes the H7 AI image processing chip, which handles image adjustments such as contrast and sharpness in real time. An Obsidian Screen coating is used on the panel to limit reflections and improve viewing clarity.

Hisense also introduced the GX Ultra alongside the UX. This model uses a 5K mini-LED panel and comes with the same 2,304 local dimming zones. It supports a peak brightness of 2,000 nits and includes the same Obsidian screen coating. One of its main features is the ability to switch between two display modes. Users can run it at 5K resolution with a 165 Hz refresh rate, or switch to QHD resolution at 330 Hz for higher frame rates. The monitor also includes a full bandwidth DisplayPort 2.1 port to handle these output modes.

Hisense has not yet shared details on pricing, full specifications, or release timelines for either model. More information is expected to be announced later.

Android 17 features

Google has made several major changes to the Android development cycle in recent years, and as a result, newer versions now arrive a lot earlier than before. The upcoming Android 17 has already entered the development phase. In fact, Google has already released two public betas, giving us a sneak peek at the upcoming features and changes.

What’s the dessert name for Android 17?

The tech giant doesn’t name Android versions after desserts anymore. It abandoned that tradition with Android 10, sticking to only the version number for future releases.

However, the internal team still uses a dessert codename. Android 16 has a dessert name, “Baklava”, and for the upcoming Android 17, Google has chosen “Cinnamon Bun” as the dessert codename.

A cinnamon bun is a sweet, spiral-shaped pastry made with rolled dough and a mixture of butter, sugar, and ground cinnamon. It’s quite popular in northern Europe and North America.

Android 17: Upcoming features and changes

Bubbles

The bubble feature has been around here for quite a few years now, but that’s limited to conversation notifications. Google is now working on implementing it for all apps. The new Bubbles feature was spotted in Android 17 Beta 2, allowing users to run multiple floating apps without ever having to leave the full-screen app.

Android 17 Beta 2 Bubbles feature
Bubbles in Android 17

Once activated, users can enable a floating bubble for an app by tapping and holding the icon and then choosing “Bubble” from the context menu. On large-screen devices, a dedicated bubble bar appears in the taskbar, which makes it easy to organize bubbles and switch between them.

Limited Connects access

Android 17 introduces a new system-level Contacts Picker application, which will allow users to select one or more contacts to share with an app at a time. What makes it more privacy-focused is that apps won’t be able to track any changes you make to a contact’s information.

Android 17 Beta 2 Contact Picker
Contacts Picker in Android 17

Google says Contact Picker grants temporary, session-based read access to the specific data fields selected by the user. That means the app will be required to ask for permissions again after the session timeout. The new feature also allows selections from the device’s personal or work profiles.

Seamless task continuity

Android 17 could bring the awaited “Task Continuity” feature, which will allow users to sync notifications, share files, and continue apps across their linked Android devices. Essentially, you will be able to transfer an app’s current state from one Android device to another.

As explained by Android Authority, this feature will show a suggestion on the taskbar representing the running app from another device. When you click this suggestion, the system initiates the handoff and passes the remote app’s state.

Google officially announced the new Handoff API in Android 17 Beta 2, which allows developers to specify the application state to resume on another Android device. Once enabled, the Android system displays a handoff suggestion in the launcher of the user’s nearby devices. This feature is designed to offer seamless task continuity across linked Android devices.

Redesigned privacy indicators

Android 17 Beta 2 introduced changes to privacy indicators, now featuring separate circles and multiple colors. Earlier, the privacy indicators were shown in a pill-shaped green enclosure. The icons now appear in separate circles, and the location icon has a blue circle instead of green.

System EyeDropper

Google has added an “EyeDropper” app in Android 17 Beta 2 to allow other apps to ask Android to pick the exact color of any pixel shown on the screen without requiring sensitive screen-capture permissions. This means developers will no longer need to build their own eyedropper tool or import third-party libraries, resulting in time saving and a slight reduction in the app’s file size.

SMS and OTP protection

With Android 17 Beta 2, Google has further strengthened OTP message protection by delaying access to OTP messages for three hours for apps that are not intended to be recipients. This narrows down OTP access to select apps, but it excludes the default SMS app, assistant apps, and companion apps for connected devices.

The latest change applies to WebOTP messages, SMS retriever format messages, and standard OTP SMS messages.

Better app adaptability

Google began phasing out apps’ ability to restrict screen orientation and resizability on large-screen devices with Android 16. However, it still allowed app developers to opt out of this change. But Android 17 makes it mandatory, and developers will no longer be able to opt out.

This change will make apps running on Android 17 fill the space and respect the device posture on large-screen devices. The users will still have the ability to opt in/out of using an app’s default behavior via the aspect ratio settings.

Versatile Video Coding (VVC) support

Google introduced the Versatile Video Encoding (VVC) standard (also known as H.266) in Android 17 Beta 1. This video compression standard can deliver video quality similar to or better than the original at reduced file sizes, provided that the Android device has the hardware decode support and capable drivers.

Loudness Management

Google is introducing the CTA-2075 loudness management API with Android 17 Beta 1. This allows apps to dynamically adjust audio playback loudness based on metadata from supported AAC content and device characteristics, resulting in a more consistent listening experience across applications and hardware.

And a lot more

The features and changes we’ve discussed so far have been spotted in the first two betas of Android 17. However, for non-Google brands like Xiaomi, OnePlus, Oppo, Vivo, and Samsung, the list would be much longer, as the Android 17 build for them will also include features from Android 16 QPR releases.

The first major release of a new Android OS happens around June. That build is shipped to most of the Android devices, which might also include some additional features and upgrades from their OEMs. Google Pixels, on the other hand, also receive QPR releases with new features and upgrades every three months (quarter).

Google released three Android 16 QPR releases: QPR1, QPR2, and QPR3. All three builds brought new features and meaningful upgrades, including Material 3 Expressive, auto-themed icons, Desktop Mode, Secure Lock Device, and Low Light mode. Google Pixels have received these QPR builds. For other brands, these new features and upgrades will be added as part of Android 17. So, there’ll be plenty of new features and upgrades for non-Google Pixel devices.

When will Google release Android 17?

Google is largely following the same timeline for Android 17 as last year’s Android 16, with a major SDK release in Q2 and a minor SDK release promised for Q4.

As of writing this post, Google has released two Android 17 betas: Beta 1 arrived on February 13, and Beta 2 arrived on February 26.

  • Android 17 Beta 1: February 13, 2026
  • Android 17 Beta 2: February 26, 2026

There will be a couple more beta releases before Google pushes the stable build. The stable build of Android 16 was released on June 10, 2025. Google is unlikely to change the timeline this year, and therefore, we’re expecting the stable Android 17 to land in June 2026.

We’ll keep posting new stories on Android 17 in the Google section. Remember to visit it at least once every few days to stay up-to-date with the latest developments. Alternative, you can join our Telegram channel to get instant notifications about the latest tech news and software updates.

New Focus: AI Inference Over Training

Huawei’s Atlas 350 reflects a clear strategic shift toward AI inference, the stage where trained models are deployed in real-world applications. Instead of focusing on training, this accelerator is designed to efficiently run AI systems such as recommendation engines, large language models, and multimodal tools. This aligns with a broader industry transition, where inference is increasingly becoming the main challenge as AI adoption scales across industries.

Performance Designed for Real-World Use

At the heart of the Atlas 350 is Huawei’s Ascend 950PR chip, capable of delivering around 1.56 petaflops of FP4 computing power. Huawei claims this enables up to 2.8 times better performance than Nvidia’s H20 in certain inference workloads. The use of FP4 precision allows faster processing and lower memory usage, making it particularly effective for large-scale deployment where efficiency and speed are more critical than high precision.

Memory and Architectural Advancements

A notable development is Huawei’s move toward in-house high-bandwidth memory, with reported configurations of up to 128GB and 1.6 TB/s bandwidth. This reduces reliance on external suppliers and strengthens China’s semiconductor capabilities. Additionally, the chip is optimized for the “prefill” stage of inference, improving how quickly input data is processed, which is essential for real-time AI applications and emerging agent-based systems.

Building a Complete AI Ecosystem

Huawei’s approach extends beyond a single accelerator. The company is developing an integrated AI ecosystem that includes hardware, storage, and large-scale computing systems. This vertically integrated strategy mirrors established players but is tailored to domestic infrastructure, enabling tighter control over performance and deployment.

Impact on the US–China Tech War

The Atlas 350 is significant for the ongoing US–China technology competition. With restrictions limiting access to advanced US chips, Huawei’s development of competitive domestic alternatives represents a step toward technological self-reliance. For China, this strengthens its ability to build independent AI infrastructure, while for US companies such as Nvidia, it introduces growing competition in a key market.

Implications for Consumers and the Market

For everyday users, this could mean faster and more affordable AI services, especially in China. It may also lead to more local AI apps and platforms. Over time, the tech world could split into separate systems, with different regions building their own AI ecosystems.

Casio is having a genuine style moment. After years as a “dad-watch” staple, its chunky digital and analog-digital designs have been co-opted by streetwear and style influencers. Think back to 2000s hip-hop, and you’ll recall Pharrell, Eminem, Kanye, and Justin Bieber proudly rocking G-Shocks. Streetwear brands like Stüssy, BAPE, and A$AP Ferg have all released G-Shock collabs. Meanwhile, a Y2K design revival means translucent techy looks are hot again. Young buyers are reportedly choosing timeless analogs over smartwatches. In short: the blocky Casio aesthetic that once screamed “geek” now reads as retro-future-cool. Below are five recent Casio models that capture this trend, each stylish in its own way, and priced in the sub-$160 range.

G-Shock GA-V01SKE Transparent “Alien Eyes”

Casio-G-Shock-GA-V01

What it is: A new “Transparent Pack” version of the GA-V01 octagonal G-Shock. It comes in four see-through colors (neon green, orange, purple, gray) and keeps the model’s distinctive layered face.

Why it’s cool: This is the one that lit up social media. Its skeletonized case and dial combine Casio’s usual toughness with an “alien-inspired” futuristic look. Fans even call its oversized, inverted LCD “alien eyes”. Casio says the see-through styling is directly lifted from Y2K-era gadgets, and reviewers note it feels “futuristic” yet nostalgic.

Who it’s for: Anyone who wants a standout, techy watch that references early-2000s cyber aesthetics.

Price: About $154.

G-Shock DW-5600MNC (with Fidlock Strap)

What it is: A fresh take on Casio’s classic square DW-5600. Instead of a resin strap it has an elastic nylon band with a Fidlock magnetic buckle (an easy one-handed snap system). Available in black, gray/yellow, or blue/orange colorways.

Why it’s cool: It makes a 40-year-old digital watch feel new. The stretch band can extend significantly, so it even goes over a jacket sleeve. The magnetic clasp is dramatically easier to use than the old buckle. The result is more comfort, faster wear, and a subtle outdoor, utility-driven look.

Who it’s for: Practical types and mod enthusiasts who love the 5600 but want modern convenience.

Price: Around $127.

G-Shock GM-2100 “CasiOak” (Fine Metallic Series)

What it is: A metal-clad version of the slim GA-2100 “CasiOak” (so nicknamed for its AP Royal Oak–like octagon). The GM-2100YRA-8A comes with a polished stainless-steel bezel and silver-toned vapor-deposited band, plus a bright red-on-black LCD display.

Why it’s cool: It gives diehard G-Shock fans a hint of luxury. The satin-brushed steel bezel and matching strap make it look high-end while still being quartz and tough. The new Fine Metallic models feature polished stainless-steel bezels with striking red-tinted displays.

Who it’s for: Anyone who appreciates high-end watch design but prefers something rugged and wearable daily.

Price: Around $290.

G-Shock GMA-P2126W-8A (Monochrome Gold Accent)

GMA-P2126W-8A

What it is: A compact analog-digital G-Shock released for International Women’s Day 2026. It features a gray case, a metallic dial, and subtle gold accents. It’s built on the slim GMA-P2110 platform, using a bio-based resin case and strap for an eco-friendly angle.

Why it’s cool: It’s understated in a way most G-Shocks aren’t. The gray and gold palette feels intentional and clean, making it easy to dress up or down. It doesn’t scream for attention, but it still looks considered.

Who it’s for: Someone who wants a G-Shock that works with a blazer as easily as it does with a hoodie.

Price: $145.

Casio F-91W (The 1989 Icon)

Casio F-91W

What it is: The original Casio digital watch, launched in 1989 and still in production. A tiny 37.5×34.5×8.5 mm resin watch with stopwatch, alarm, and backlight, in its classic black (a new translucent gold-clear variant arrived in 2026).

Why it’s cool: It’s the ultimate anti-luxury flex. It costs less than lunch but has outlived entire categories of tech. In a world full of notifications and screens, the F-91W feels calm and intentional.

Who it’s for: Minimalists, tech skeptics, and anyone who wants to signal taste without trying too hard.

Price: About $15.

Oppo just unveiled its latest foldable flagship, the Find N6. And honestly, it might be the most exciting foldable to launch since the first-generation Galaxy Z Fold. At least to me.

The Z Fold was the starting point. It proved that a smartphone could fold, juggle multiple screens, and adapt to how you want to use it.

Oppo Find N6 vs Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7

The Find N6, on the other hand, is trying to solve the biggest problem every foldable has had so far: the crease. Yes, finally — a foldable that doesn’t constantly remind you of its hinge with a distracting crease after just a few days of use.

But how do Oppo’s and Samsung’s 2026 foldables stack up against each other? Let’s take a look.

Design and build

Starting with the design, surprisingly, both the Oppo Find N6 and Galaxy Z Fold 7 measure 4.2mm thin when unfolded and 8.9mm when folded. Neither company can really claim a major advantage in thickness. However, where things diverge is in materials and durability.

The Find N6 is one notch above in engineering, thanks to a titanium alloy hinge, aircraft-grade aluminum frame, and something it calls Nanocrystal Glass.

There’s also IP58/IP59 certification, which goes beyond the typical water resistance by adding protection against dust and even high-pressure water jets. That’s still rare in foldables.

Samsung, meanwhile, sticks with its familiar Armor Aluminum frame and Gorilla Glass Victus Ceramic 2. The Z Fold 7 is 10 grams lighter than the Find N6 at 215 grams, but it’s unlikely to make a major difference. Its IP48 rating feels more conservative in comparison to Oppo, though.

The hinge is another subtle difference. Oppo says its “Zero-Feel Crease” has a complex four-axis structure and memory glass that can restore flatness over time. Samsung’s Armor FlexHinge is an evolution of what it has already been doing for years.

Displays

Both phones are built around large inner displays. The Find N6 has an 8.12-inch inner screen, while the Z Fold 7 sticks with an 8.0-inch panel. On paper, that’s not a huge difference, but Oppo offers higher brightness numbers, hitting up to 2,500 nits on the inner display and 3,600 nits on the cover screen.

Samsung’s panel is still strong, with a peak brightness of 2,600 nits and its usual AMOLED tuning.

Resolution and sharpness are part of the story. But Oppo is trying to solve one of foldables’ biggest annoyances, the crease. Its “Zero-Feel” approach, backed by memory glass and a redesigned hinge, makes the crease less visible and less tactile over time.

Samsung, interestingly, took a different route by removing S Pen support. That decision allows it to use a slightly thicker ultra-thin glass layer to improve durability, but it also removes one of the Fold series’ more unique features.

Performance

Performance is where things get a bit more nuanced. The Oppo Find N6 runs on the newer Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, while the Z Fold 7 uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite. Both are built on a 3nm process, but Oppo’s chip is technically a generation ahead, with higher clock speeds and a newer GPU.

Practically, both phones should feel fast. But Oppo’s combination of newer silicon, LPDDR5X RAM, and UFS 4.1 storage could deliver slightly better efficiency and faster data handling. Samsung uses LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage.

The Z Fold 7 also comes with One UI 8 with the promise of seven major Android updates. Meanwhile, the Find N6 offers ColorOS 16 with five years of OS updates and six years of security patches.

Cameras

Both phones now use 200MP main sensors, but the supporting cameras are a different story.

Oppo goes all-in with a more balanced setup: a 50MP ultrawide, a 50MP periscope telephoto with 3x optical zoom, and Hasselblad color tuning.

Samsung, on the other hand, pairs its 200MP main sensor with a 12MP ultrawide and a 10MP telephoto. While the main camera is excellent and borrowed from its Ultra lineup, the secondary cameras feel less ambitious.

Video capabilities are strong on both sides, but Oppo also has Dolby Vision recording at up to 4K 120fps, while Samsung offers 8K recording at 30fps.

Battery and charging

The Find N6 packs a 6,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, which is significantly larger than Samsung’s 4,400mAh cell. This alone could translate to noticeably better endurance. But charging speeds widen the gap even further.

The Find N6 supports 80W wired charging and 50W wireless charging, along with multiple fast-charging standards. Samsung offers 25W wired and 15W wireless charging.

Extras and features

There are a few other smaller differences that might matter depending on how you use your phone.

Oppo has stylus support on both screens, satellite connectivity on select models, and an infrared port, which is still useful in some regions. Samsung offers Ultra Wideband support and DeX, which can be more relevant if you’re already invested in its ecosystem.

Connectivity is largely similar with support for Wi-Fi 7 and modern positioning systems on both models.

Verdict

With the Find N6, Oppo is pushing aggressively on hardware with a bigger battery, faster charging, brighter displays, and a more ambitious camera system.

Samsung’s approach is more iterative. The Z Fold 7 refines the design, improves the hinge, and leans heavily on software longevity and ecosystem features.

If you’re looking at pure hardware, the Find N6 is hard to ignore. It pushes ahead in areas that matter daily, like battery life and charging. But if long-term software support, ecosystem integration, and a slightly lighter build matter more, the Z Fold 7 is still a good device.

FUJIFILM India has announced the instax mini 13, a new entry-level instant camera in its instax lineup. The camera is designed for instant photo printing and builds on the instax mini 12 with updates focused on ease of use and added shooting flexibility.

instax mini 13

The instax mini 13 is an analog instant camera that keeps operation simple. Users can turn the lens to power it on, frame the shot, and press the shutter button to capture and print instantly. The camera introduces two built-in self-timers. The 2-second timer helps reduce camera shake during handheld selfies, while the 10-second timer allows users to place the camera down for group shots or full-body images. The timer is controlled using a lever on the shutter button.

The design has been updated with a rounded, 3D body and a pop-style look. It features a metallic silver logo on the front and a band-wrapped design on the sides. The camera is available in five translucent pastel colors: Dreamy Purple, Candy Pink, Frost Blue, Lagoon Green, and Clay White.

Fujifilm has also included a Camera Angle Adjustment Accessory that allows users to adjust the shooting angle without needing a tripod. This makes it easier to use the self-timer in different scenarios.

The camera retains features from the previous model, including Close-up Mode and Automatic Exposure. Close-up Mode includes parallax correction, which adjusts the viewfinder framing to better match the final print. Automatic Exposure adjusts shutter speed and flash intensity based on the scene to ensure proper brightness.

Fujifilm has also updated the instax UP! smartphone app. The latest version uses AI in its scanning feature to improve accuracy and make it easier to digitize instax prints, regardless of background or orientation, for sharing on social media.

Alongside the mini 13, Fujifilm has introduced a new Jet Black color option for the instax WIDE 400 camera, in addition to the existing Green variant.

Pricing & availability

The instax mini 13 is priced at Rs. 10,999 and will be available from March 31, 2026. The instax mini film “PASTEL GALAXY” is priced at Rs. 899 and will also be available from the same date. The mini 13 comes in Dreamy Purple, Candy Pink, Frost Blue, Lagoon Green, and Clay White. The instax WIDE 400 in Jet Black will also be available from March 31, 2026 alongside the Green option.

Oppo has launched the Find N6, claiming it to be the “world’s flattest foldable smartphone.” It combines advanced technology, sleek design, and high performance, setting a new standard in the foldable smartphone market. Here’s a detailed look at its features, specifications, and pricing.

Oppo Find N6

Oppo Find N6 Specifications

The Find N6 features an 8.12-inch QXGA+ foldable OLED inner screen and a 6.62-inch FHD+ AMOLED outer display, both supporting 1.07 billion colors, 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rates, and 240Hz touch sampling. The inner screen peaks at 2,500 nits brightness, while the outer display reaches 3,600 nits.

For eye comfort, the screens include a 1-nit ultra-low brightness mode. The bezels on the outer screen are reduced by 30%. Both displays are TÜV Rheinland certified for eye protection.

Now, let’s talk about the Zero-Feel Crease tech a bit. Oppo has focused on making the foldable display look and feel as flat as possible, even after long-term use. The system combines a new hinge with advanced memory glass to minimize crease visibility.

The hinge uses a bionic four-axis structure built with chip-level polymer 3D printing technology, reducing surface unevenness from 0.18mm to just 0.1mm. Alongside this, the memory glass delivers over three times the rigidity of conventional flexible glass and can restore up to 99.9% of its flatness after folding.

Together, these technologies help maintain a smoother display surface over time, offering a more seamless and immersive viewing experience. The device is also TÜV Rheinland certified for up to 600,000 folds, ensuring durability alongside improved flatness.

Oppo Find N6

Under the hood, the device features the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor paired with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage. It integrates Oppo’s Tidal Engine optimization system to enhance CPU and GPU performance while reducing power consumption.

The Find N6 runs on ColorOS 16, offering enhanced multitasking and productivity features like multi-window mode for running up to four apps simultaneously. It also includes AI-powered tools such as smart note-taking, voice transcription, image editing, and stylus support with the optional Oppo AI Pen. Oppo guarantees 5 years of Android OS updates and 6 years of security patches.

In terms of photography, The Find N6 features a Hasselblad-engineered quad-camera system, headlined by a 200MP wide-angle main sensor with dual-axis OIS and an f/1.8 aperture. It is paired with a 50MP ultra-wide camera offering a 120° field of view, a 50MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and dual-axis OIS, and a Danxia color calibration lens for enhanced color accuracy.

Oppo Find N6

The cameras support up to 120x digital zoom, 8K photography, and 4K 120fps Dolby Vision video recording, alongside advanced portrait and cinematic features like XPAN mode for wide-angle shots. Front-facing cameras include 20MP sensors on both the main and cover screens.

The Find N6 packs a massive 6000mAh silicon-carbon battery. It supports 80W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging. The device is also compatible with various fast-charging standards like UFCS, PPS, and QC.

Oppo Find N6

For connectivity, the device supports dual SIM cards with 5G connectivity across 66 global network bands. It features Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, and NFC for seamless connectivity. The phone includes a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, satellite communication (on select variants), and a USB Type-C 3.2 port for fast data transfer.

The device weighs just 225g and measures 8.93mm when folded. It has an IP56, IP58, and IP59 rating.

Pricing and Availability

The Oppo Find N6 starts at 9,999 yuan ($1,400) for the 12GB + 256GB variant. The 16GB + 512GB model is available for 10,999 yuan ($1,540), while the top-tier 16GB + 1TB satellite communication version costs 11,999 yuan ($1,680).

The phone is available in three colors: Deep Black, Original Titanium, and Gold Orange. Global sales begin on March 20.

Apple’s AirPods Max headphones have long been positioned as the company’s most premium audio product. With the arrival of the AirPods Max 2, Apple has introduced several upgrades while retaining many of the core design elements that defined the original model. The newer version continues to target users who want high-end audio performance combined with deep integration within the Apple ecosystem.

While the two models share similarities in design and battery performance, the newer version introduces a more advanced chip, improved noise cancellation, and support for newer audio technologies. Here is a closer look at how the AirPods Max 2 compares with the first-generation AirPods Max.

AirPods Max 2 vs AirPods Max
AirPods Max 2 vs AirPods Max

Design and build

In terms of design, the AirPods Max 2 retains the overall look of the original AirPods Max. Both models feature large ear cups connected by a stainless-steel frame and a mesh headband that helps distribute weight evenly. The dimensions remain identical across the two generations.

Both headphones measure 7.37 inches in height, 6.64 inches in width, and 3.28 inches in depth. Each model weighs around 386.2 grams. Apple continues to include the Smart Case with both models, which places the headphones in a low-power state when stored.

The AirPods Max 2 is available in Midnight, Starlight, Blue, Purple, and Orange colour options, while the first-generation model originally debuted in the same colour palette. Both versions include the Digital Crown for volume control and playback commands along with a dedicated button for switching listening modes.

Chipset and audio technology

One of the most significant differences between the two headphones lies in the internal chip. The first-generation AirPods Max is powered by Apple’s H1 chip in each ear cup. In contrast, the AirPods Max 2 runs on the newer H2 chip, which enables improved processing for audio features.

Both headphones include Adaptive EQ, personalized spatial audio with dynamic head tracking, and Apple-designed dynamic drivers. However, the newer model introduces enhanced active noise cancellation that Apple claims can deliver up to 1.5 times stronger noise reduction compared to the original version.

The AirPods Max 2 also supports Adaptive Audio and Conversation Awareness, features designed to intelligently balance noise cancellation and ambient sound depending on the listening environment.

Noise control and microphones

Each version includes nine microphones in total, with eight dedicated to active noise cancellation and three microphones used for voice pickup. Transparency mode is available on both models, allowing external sound to pass through when needed.

However, the AirPods Max 2 expands on the listening experience by combining Adaptive Audio with Transparency mode, creating a more dynamic noise control system. Conversation Awareness is another feature exclusive to the newer model, automatically lowering media volume when the user begins speaking.

Connectivity and audio support

Both headphones support Bluetooth connectivity and integrate closely with Apple devices through features such as Automatic Switching and voice commands via Siri. The AirPods Max 2 uses Bluetooth 5.3, while the original AirPods Max supports Bluetooth 5.0.

Another major addition in the newer model is support for lossless audio and ultra-low latency audio through USB-C. This allows higher quality audio playback when connected with compatible devices.

The AirPods Max 2 also introduces Live Translation, a feature designed to assist with conversations across different languages.

Battery life and pricing

Battery life remains largely unchanged between the two models. Both the AirPods Max and AirPods Max 2 deliver up to 20 hours of listening time on a single charge with Active Noise Cancellation enabled.

They also support up to 20 hours of movie playback with spatial audio and noise cancellation active. Charging is handled through a USB-C connection, and storing the headphones in the Smart Case preserves battery life by placing them in an ultra-low power state.

In terms of pricing, the first-generation AirPods Max launched at $549 in the US and Rs 59,900 in India. The newer AirPods Max 2 also carry a $549 starting price in the US, while it costs Rs 67,900 in India.

Final thoughts

The AirPods Max 2 builds on the foundation of the original model rather than redesigning it entirely. The improvements mainly focus on the internal hardware and audio processing capabilities. Features such as the H2 chip, stronger noise cancellation, Adaptive Audio, and lossless audio support represent the most notable upgrades.

For existing AirPods Max users, the decision to upgrade may depend on whether these newer audio features and connectivity improvements are important. For new buyers entering Apple’s premium headphone segment, the AirPods Max 2 represents the more advanced option while maintaining the familiar design and comfort of the original model.

European retailer Gomibo has listed the unannounced Realme C100 5G, revealing complete specifications and pricing details for the budget 5G smartphone.

Powering the device is MediaTek’s Dimensity 6300 processor with Mali-G57 MC2 graphics. The phone will ship with Android 16, though the listing mentions ColorOS 16 instead of the expected Realme UI 7, likely an error common in premature retail pages.

Storage configurations offer 128GB or 256GB options, both paired with 4GB RAM. Users can expand storage up to 2TB using microSD cards. The camera system includes a 50MP primary shooter capable of 10x hybrid zoom alongside a 5MP selfie camera.

The device features a 6.8-inch LCD display with a resolution of 1570 × 720 pixels. The panel supports a 144Hz refresh rate, which is uncommon in this segment and could provide smoother scrolling and gaming compared to standard 60Hz or 90Hz displays.

At 212 grams, the handset measures 166.38 × 76.13 × 8.45 mm and carries MIL-STD-810H certification for rugged durability. Buyers can choose between green and purple finishes.

Battery capacity reaches 7000mAh, positioning endurance as a key advantage, though charging specifications remain undisclosed. The retail package will include a charger. Connectivity features dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.3, and GPS, while audio output is restricted to mono speaker playback.

French pricing sets the 128GB model at €237 and the 256GB version at €256, with potential price adjustments across different European markets.

This year’s MWC was packed with announcements from all the big tech and hardware brands. As usual, the big-name devices received most of the attention. Foldables, concept devices, or the camera shootouts.

But every year, some of the most interesting things to come out of Barcelona end up buried under the noise. This year was no different. So here are ten announcements from MWC 2026 you may have missed.

Motorola × GrapheneOS

One of MWC’s most surprising announcements came from Motorola and GrapheneOS.

As you might know, GrapheneOS is the hardened, Google-free version of Android that has always run exclusively on Google Pixel phones. But this changed at MWC 2026.

Motorola Edge 70 Fusion
Motorola Edge 70 Fusion

Motorola signed a long-term deal with the GrapheneOS Foundation to bring the OS to a future Motorola device. The first compatible hardware is expected to be based on the Signature, Razr Fold, or Razr Ultra lines, built around a future Qualcomm SPU, and is targeted for 2027.

But the deal goes beyond one device. Select GrapheneOS security features will roll out to existing Motorola phones, too. There is also a new “Private Image Data” tool in rollout that automatically strips location data and device metadata from every photo you take before it leaves your phone. Lenovo’s ThinkShield enterprise security stack ties the whole thing together.

Qualcomm Snapdragon X105

As always, Qualcomm had a busy MWC, and there were a lot of announcements from the chipmaker. One such is the new Snapdragon X105 modem designed for the upcoming wave of Android flagships.

The X105 is 15 percent smaller than its predecessor, 30 percent more power-efficient, and has baked-in support for agentic AI tasks. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS are bundled in the same package.

The headline feature, however, is satellite connectivity that now extends to emergency satellite video calls, not just text and voice. It can also predict RF conditions with the help of sensing software to try to maintain a stronger connection.

Lenovo AI Workmate

Lenovo brought a lot of concepts to Barcelona this year, but the AI Workmate might be one of the coolest among all.

It is a motorised desktop robot arm. It has sensors. It has a projector head. It points at your desk and displays interactive notifications, tools, and information directly onto the surface in front of you. It also has expressive animated eyes, which either sounds charming or unsettling, depending on your tolerance for personality in office hardware.

Lenovo also announced an AI Work Companion Concept to go along with the Workmate. Its a smart display and clock that syncs your tasks across devices and helps plan your day.

Lenovo has a decent track record of turning its MWC concepts into shipping products within a year or two. Here’s hoping that the AI Workmate shows up in a ThinkSmart lineup before 2028.

Starlink becomes “Starlink Mobile” and shows what V2 satellites actually mean

SpaceX gave a proper keynote at MWC this year, which is notable in itself. The headline out of it was the official rebrand of their direct-to-device service to “Starlink Mobile.”

The more interesting part was what they shared about the V2 constellation. The next generation of Starlink satellites targets up to 150 Mbit/s mobile data speeds using globally harmonised S-band spectrum. That is roughly a 100× improvement in data density over the current fleet.

Starlink Mobile already operates across 32 countries with 10 million monthly active users, and the company has set a target of 25 million users by the end of 2026.

Deutsche Telekom × Starlink

This one got a brief mention in a few places, but the full picture is worth spelling out.

Deutsche Telekom officially signed on at MWC as the first European carrier partner for Starlink’s V2 constellation.

The plan is to use satellite connectivity to plug the coverage gaps that tower infrastructure simply cannot solve. The service is targeting a 2028 launch in Germany. It is being designed so that existing Deutsche Telekom SIM cards work without any changes.

Vodafone × Amazon Kuiper

Amazon Kuiper is the counterpart of Starlink from Jeff Bezos, and it also made an announcement at MWC 2026.

It signed a partnership with Vodafone to use LEO satellites to deliver backhaul capacity to 4G and 5G base stations across Europe and Africa. With over 200 Kuiper satellites already in orbit, the network can already deliver up to 1 Gbps download and 400 Mbps upload to ground infrastructure.

Rollout begins in Germany and other European markets in 2026, before expanding through Vodafone’s Vodacom subsidiary across Africa. The goal is to replace the expensive and slow-to-build fibre runs that currently hold back rural coverage.

AMD Ryzen AI 400 desktop

AMD chose MWC — a mobile-focused event — to launch its Ryzen AI 400 and Ryzen AI PRO 400 desktop processors.

These are the world’s first desktop chips to meet Microsoft’s Copilot+ PC requirements, meaning they can run the full suite of on-device AI features that Microsoft has been building since 2024.

They are built on Zen 5 architecture with AMD XDNA 2 NPUs that deliver up to 60 TOPS of AI compute. Copilot+ demands 40 TOPS of AI compute. The top configurations go up to 8 cores, a 5.1GHz boost clock, and Radeon 860M integrated graphics.

Dell, HP, and Lenovo have all confirmed systems using these chips, expected in Q2 2026.

Oukitel WP61 + RG14-P

Oukitel is not a brand that gets much mainstream coverage, but their MWC lineup this year was genuinely remarkable, and the WP61 specifically is a first-of-its-kind device.

The WP61 is the world’s first smartphone to combine NTN two-way satellite connectivity, a thermal imaging camera, and a DMR digital walkie-talkie in a single chassis. The device is for emergency responders, construction teams, and field workers who currently carry multiple devices.

Alongside it, Oukitel announced RG14-P, a solar laptop powered by an Intel Core 7 150U processor, with a dual-battery system (3,000mAh internal plus a swappable 5,200mAh pack) and a 14.1-inch touchscreen. It is built for people who work where power outlets do not exist. The RT10 Pro industrial tablet, with a built-in projector and a 25,000mAh battery, rounds out the lineup.

AWS commits $33 billion to Spain: Europe’s AI infrastructure hub takes shape

Amazon’s Chief Global Affairs and Legal Affairs Officer, David Zapolsky, used MWC as the venue to announce that AWS is expanding its Spain infrastructure investment to $33 billion, an increase of $18 billion over a prior commitment.

The plans are specific and large. Amazon plans to build seven new solar facilities, a new manufacturing plant in Aragon that will serve as the hub for European server and server rack production.

GSMA × ESA

The final story is also the most forward-looking one.

At MWC, the GSMA and the European Space Agency jointly announced up to €100 million in new funding to accelerate convergence between space infrastructure and terrestrial mobile networks. The goal is to fund projects that combine LEO satellite capacity with 5G and 6G ground systems.

This kind of institutional backing makes satellite-mobile convergence happen on a faster timeline than the market would manage on its own. The immediate applications are emergency connectivity and rural coverage.

Huawei has introduced a new portable networking device aimed at users who depend heavily on reliable mobile connectivity. Called the Wi-Fi X, the device is essentially a high-performance mobile router designed with live streamers, travelers, and remote workers in mind.

One of the more unusual aspects of the device is its foldable X-shaped design. When opened, the router forms a raised, cross-style structure that helps position its antennas more effectively. According to Huawei, this design can improve signal strength by about 13%.

Battery life is another highlight. The router includes a 12,000mAh battery, which Huawei says can deliver up to 24 hours of continuous internet use on a single device. That capacity should make it useful for extended live streaming sessions or long workdays away from a stable connection.

Huawei is positioning the Wi-Fi X as a tool built with creators in mind. The company claims it offers smoother live streaming in weak-signal environments and enough bandwidth for 4K live broadcasts or quick transfers of large files.

The networking hardware is fairly ambitious for a portable router. Huawei says the Wi-Fi X uses a 4T4R (four-transmitter, four-receiver) setup, paired with triple-carrier aggregation and 16 built-in cellular antennas designed to provide 360-degree coverage. In ideal conditions, the device can reportedly reach download speeds of up to 5.3Gbps and upload speeds around 1Gbps.

To keep performance consistent during heavy use, Huawei has also added an advanced cooling system that relies on dual-layer graphene and high-conductivity materials to dissipate heat.

The company worked with China Mobile to offer a dedicated network service optimized for the device. This includes several priority features intended to improve reliability during tasks like live streaming.

The WiFi X has a price tag of 2499 yuan (~$364) and will be sold with three data-plan bundles through China Mobile:

  • 200GB monthly plan: 199 yuan (~$29)
  • 350GB monthly plan: 299 yuan (~$44)
  • 500GB monthly plan: 399 yuan (~$58)

Availability is currently limited to China. Huawei has not confirmed whether the Wi-Fi X will reach other markets, though a broader release remains possible later on.

MWC 2026 introduced a wide range of new devices, from flagship smartphones to experimental concepts. Huawei led the announcements with the Huawei Mate 80 Pro, a flagship smartphone featuring a 3000-nit OLED display, variable-aperture camera, and strong durability ratings. The company also revealed the Huawei Watch GT Runner 2, a titanium running smartwatch with dual-band GPS and long sports tracking battery life.

Honor showcased the Honor Magic V6 foldable, notable for its thin 4 mm open profile and 6,660 mAh battery. Lenovo presented the Lenovo ThinkBook Modular AI PC Concept and the Lenovo Legion Go Fold Concept gaming handheld, while XGIMI MemoMind One glasses and the Lenovo ThinkTab X11 rugged tablet also drew attention.

Huawei Mate 80 Pro – Best Smartphone

The Huawei Mate 80 Pro marks Huawei’s first global Mate flagship since 2022. It features a 6.75-inch flat OLED display with adaptive refresh from 1 Hz to 120 Hz and peak brightness of 3000 nits. While the brand has not confirmed it, the device likely uses Huawei’s in-house Kirin 9030 Pro processor with 16 GB RAM and 512 GB storage.

The camera system includes a 50 MP Ultra Lighting main sensor with variable aperture from f/1.4 to f/4.0 and optical image stabilization. It also has a 40 MP ultra-wide camera and a 48 MP 4× telephoto camera with up to 100× zoom. A 13 MP autofocus front camera sits in a punch-hole cutout. The phone uses a 5,750 mAh battery that supports 100 W wired charging and 80 W wireless SuperCharge.

Huawei also focused on durability. The phone uses second-generation Kunlun glass, a vegan fiber frame, and IP68 and IP69 protection against water and dust. It is rated to survive up to 6 meters of water submersion and high-pressure water jets. The device runs EMUI 15 globally, while the Chinese version uses HarmonyOS 6. The design includes Huawei’s Dual Space Rings camera layout with two circular rings.

The Huawei Mate 80 Series didn’t just win at MWC; It is also a declaration of return. The Mate80 Series represents a pinnacle of hardware engineering. The integration of the brand-new chipset delivers a thermal efficiency and sustained performance that outclass much of the competition. However, the true standout is the imaging system—by re-architecting the sensor layout and leveraging AI-driven computational photography, Huawei has effectively closed the gap on optical zoom, offering focal lengths previously unattainable in a consumer device. As for the rest, it is, quite simply, the most technically accomplished smartphone on the market.

Huawei Watch GT Runner 2 – Best Wearable

The Huawei Watch GT Runner 2 is designed for runners and endurance athletes. It uses a titanium alloy case measuring 43.5 mm and only 10.7 mm thick. The watch weighs about 34.5 g. The display is a 1.32-inch AMOLED panel with 466×466 resolution and 3000-nit brightness, protected by second-generation Kunlun glass.

Huawei added a new 3D floating antenna system with dual-band GPS using L1 and L5 signals. The company says this improves positioning accuracy by about 20 percent in dense cities or tunnels.

The watch includes an Intelligent Marathon Mode developed with DSM-Firmenich. It offers structured training plans, pace charts, finish predictions, and digital pacing guidance.

The device supports more than 100 sports modes, including triathlon, trail running, golf, and freediving down to 40 meters. It also tracks ECG, blood oxygen, sleep, and stress. The watch has 5 ATM water resistance and an IP69 rating. Battery life is rated at up to 14 days for light use, 7 days for typical use, or about 32 hours with GPS tracking enabled.

The HUAWEI WATCH GT Runner 2 redefines sports wearables. Its ‘Best Smart Wearable’ win was largely attributed to its industry-leading biomechanical tracking precision and optimized experience for humanity’s oldest sport – running. With refined 3D floating antenna for ‘the best distance, pace, and route tracking performance ever’ and advanced running dynamics, it delivers lab-grade analytics directly to the wrist—bridging the gap between casual fitness trackers and professional coaching tools.

Honor Magic V6 – Best Foldable

Honor’s latest flagship foldable, the Magic V6, pushed two records: at 8.75 mm folded (4 mm open) it’s the thinnest foldable yet, and it packs a gargantuan battery (6,660 mAh) for all-day life.

HONOR Magic V6

It runs the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor with 16 GB RAM and 512 GB storage. The inner display is a 7.95-inch LTPO2 AMOLED panel with 2352×2172 resolution, 1–120 Hz refresh rate, and 5000-nit peak brightness. The outer display is a 6.52-inch LTPO AMOLED panel with 2420 × 1080 resolution and up to 6000 nits brightness. Both displays support stylus input. The phone includes high-frequency PWM dimming, anti-reflective coating that reduces glare by 33 percent, and true 10-bit color.

Honor engineered a new Super Steel Hinge (2800 MPa steel) tested for 500k folds and a reinforced Ultra-Thin Glass, while the crease is claimed to be “minimal, imperceptible.”

The camera setup includes a 50 MP main camera with OIS and variable aperture from f/1.4 to f/4.0, a 64 MP periscope telephoto camera with 3× optical zoom and OIS, and a 50 MP ultra-wide camera.

It runs MagicOS 10 based on Android 16 and will receive seven years of OS updates. Honor says the device is the first foldable to receive TÜV Rheinland certification for 24-hour battery life thanks to its silicon-carbon blade battery with 32 percent silicon.

The HONOR Magic V6 redefines what a foldable can be. By packing a groundbreaking 6660mAh silicon-carbon battery into a chassis just 4mm thin when unfolded, Honor has shattered the compromise between portability and endurance. Meanwhile, its rich AI software capabilities also give its large external display more versatile applications.

Lenovo ThinkBook Modular AI PC Concept – Best Concept

The Lenovo ThinkBook Modular AI PC Concept is a flexible laptop idea designed for business users. The base unit has a 14-inch display. Additional modules such as keyboards, ports, and extra displays attach using Lenovo’s Magic Bay pogo-pin connector system.

A second 14-inch display can attach to the lid for face-to-face viewing or sit beside the laptop as a vertical monitor. Removing the keyboard allows both displays to form a 19-inch dual-screen workstation.

Users can also swap I/O modules such as USB-A, USB-C, and HDMI without replacing the entire device. Lenovo designed the system with repairability and long product lifecycles in mind. Pricing and release plans have not been announced since it remains a concept.

The Lenovo ThinkBook Modular AI PC Concept is a manifesto for the future of personal computing, recognizing a bold reimagining of what a laptop can become. By decoupling core components into swappable, intelligent modules—from AI-accelerated graphics units to hot-swappable storage and I/O expansions—Lenovo transforms a traditional clamshell into a living ecosystem.

MemoMind One – Smart AR Glasses

The XGIMI MemoMind One AI glasses bring assistant features into lightweight eyewear. The glasses weigh about 30 g and use dual microLED waveguide displays to project information onto the lenses. They do not include cameras to address privacy concerns.

XGIMI MemoMind One AI glasses

Built-in speakers and microphones support voice commands for AI chat, translations, reminders, and summaries. During demonstrations, the glasses translated conversations between Chinese and English and created reminders such as flight check-in alerts.

The glasses resemble regular frames but have thicker temples that hold the battery and projection hardware. Users see subtle green text overlays for notifications, calendar updates, and weather.

XGIMI MemoMind One AI glasses

The glasses run a hybrid operating system that switches between multiple AI models on the device. Battery life is about 16 hours per charge, and XGIMI is developing a charging case for extended use.

While competitors force users to cross their eyes at single-square projections, MemoMind’s dual-eye waveguide display delivers crisp, natural text across both lenses—making augmented information feel like an extension of normal vision.

This month, OnePlus will unveil the OnePlus 15T, a compact flagship phone. In all likelihood, it will be the last phone in the OnePlus 15 series. The company will shift its focus to the OnePlus 16 lineup in the second half of 2026, and early reports suggest that the OnePlus 16 will offer top-notch performance. A new leak that has surfaced today not only supports this claim but also reveals a key detail about its camera.

OnePlus 16’s chipset, RAM, and periscope camera tipped

As per the leak, the OnePlus 16 will be powered by the upcoming 2nm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro (SM8975), which will have support for LPDDR6 RAM. Reports have revealed that LPDDR6 will roughly double the maximum bandwidth of the original LPDDR5, jumping from a peak of 6.4 Gbps to as high as 14.4 Gbps, while specifically optimizing for the massive data throughput required by on-device generative AI.

The inclusion of the said chipset accompanied by the latest RAM suggests that the OnePlus 16 will arrive with a significant boost in overall performance and efficiency. With rising memory costs, the inclusion of LPDDR6 also suggests a price hike. Recently, DCS claimed that the 12GB+256GB base model of the device may cost around 5,000 Yuan (~$725).

Multiple reports have said that the OnePlus 16 will be equipped with a 200-megapixel camera. Today’s leak says that the OP16 will feature a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto camera, which could feature the Samsung HP5 sensor as per previous reports. Likely, the camera setup may include two 50-megapixel cameras for the main and ultra-wide cameras, respectively.

Past reports have claimed that the OnePlus 16’s OLED panel may support 1.5K resolution along with a 200Hz or 240Hz refresh rate, and an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint sensor. The phone is expected to ship with OxygenOS 17-based Android 17.

Early reports suggest that the OnePlus 16 may launch in October in China, followed by a global announcement in November.

Honor Magic V6 has officially launched today in China. The new foldable arrives with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, a large 7,150mAh battery, and a design that Honor says is durable and thin.

The phone starts at 8,999 yuan (about $1,250) for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage model. A 12GB + 512GB version costs 9,999 yuan (around $1,390), while the 16GB + 512GB model is priced at 10,999 yuan (about $1,530).

The top-tier configuration with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage goes up to 11,999 yuan (roughly $1,670). It’s available in four colors: Red Rabbit Red, Sunrise Gold, Snow White, and Velvet Black.

Honor Magic V6 Specifications

One of the main talking points is what Honor calls its “black diamond screen.” According to the company, the external display is coated with 5,600 layers of silicon nitride designed to improve wear resistance by three times compared to previous designs. The foldable display also includes a low-reflection coating with reflectivity rated at just 1.5 percent.

Honor demonstrated the screen’s durability during the launch event by pressing a power drill against it, claiming the display remained intact. The company says the phone can be used without a protective case and should maintain reliability for up to 36 months.

The inner foldable screen also introduces what Honor says is a “seamless crease” design. According to the brand, it reduces the visible fold, or crease, by 44 percent compared to the previous generation. The display structure includes an anti-reflective protective layer, an impact-resistant UTG glass layer, and a carbon fiber support layer. Honor claims this setup improves impact resistance by about 33 percent and has received eye-protection certification from TÜV Rheinland.

The inner display can reach up to 5,000 nits peak brightness, while the outer screen can hit 6,000 nits. Both support 4,320Hz PWM dimming and stylus input.

The foldable is also thin

In terms of design, the Magic V6 weighs about 219 grams and measures roughly 8.75mm thick when folded and 4.0mm when unfolded. Its among the lightest and thinnest foldable phones so far. The device features a 3D textured back panel and an aerospace-grade aluminum frame.

The Magic V6 also carries both IP68 and IP69 ratings and is rated to survive water depths of up to four meters.

Despite being slim, the foldable packs a 7,150mAh Silicon-Carbon battery with silicon content exceeding 32 percent. The battery has an energy density of 985Wh/L, which Honor claims is a record for foldable devices. Honor also offers a second model with a 6,850mAh battery and slightly lower silicon content.

On the camera side, the Magic V6 includes a 64-megapixel telephoto camera using a 1/2-inch sensor and supports CIPA 6.5 level stabilization. Honor has also integrated its AiMAGE color engine and AI-assisted photography features like intelligent composition and dual-screen shooting previews.

Honor is also introducing what it calls an “AI Intelligence Officer,” which can proactively push news or scheduled content. The Magic V6 supports AI translation across 14 languages, real-time screen translation, and a range of gaming optimizations, including 120FPS support.

Connectivity is another area Honor highlights. The device supports 25 5G bands across more than 200 regions and is the first phone to support BeiDou satellite SMS services across China’s three major carriers.

Interestingly, the Magic V6 also has several features designed to work with Apple devices. Users can access iCloud Photo Library, extend their Mac display wirelessly, transfer files to a Mac with one tap, and connect with AirPods or Apple Watch features.
