When Apple removed the earphone jack from the iPhone 7, a number of manufacturers mocked the Cupertino-based company before following suit and removing the connector from their own phones too. This year, Apple decided not to ship its new iPhones with chargers and it has been made fun of by different manufacturers including Samsung. Now, evidence has surfaced that shows the Korean giant will not include a charger in the box of the upcoming Galaxy S21 series.

There have been reports that Samsung will not ship its 2021 flagships with a charger following news of Apple starting the trend with the iPhone 12. While there was no confirmation and seeing that Samsung itself mocked Apple on Facebook for not including a charger in the box. The post which has now been deleted shows that Samsung may be shamelessly doing what it accused Apple of.

The evidence that the Galaxy S21 series will not ship with a charger comes from an ANATEL (Brazil’s equivalent of the U.S.’ FCC) certification that reveals the three phones will not ship with a charger and earphones. The news was first reported by Tecnoblog.

A translation of the portion of the certification document (pictured above) says that “The cellphone will not be sold with a power supply” but adds that the devices were tested with two Samsung chargers with model numbers EP-TA800 and EP-TA800B. It also says that the cellphones will not be sold with headphones but three headphones with model numbers GH59-15106A, GH59-15107A, and GH59-15403A were provided for testing.

However, there is a chance that buyers of the Galaxy S21 series in Brazil, at least, will get a charger and headset considering the country is forcing Apple to include a charger with the iPhone 12 models sold there. So while you won’t find one in the box, you should get one if you request for it.

Samsung will definitely not be the only one that won’t include a charger in the box of its phones next year. You can be sure a number of other manufacturers will follow suit until it sort of becomes standard, at least for flagship phones.

The Galaxy A50 is one of the A-series smartphones Samsung is scheduled to release this year. A couple of its specs have leaked in the past few weeks and now a Brazilian certification has confirmed its battery capacity.

The phone’s battery has been certified by Brazil’s telecommunications agency which is known as ANATEL. The battery has model number EB-BA505ABU and a nominal battery capacity of 3,900mAh (~4,000mAh). The Galaxy A50 appeared on Geekbench as the SM-A505FN, so we are pretty sure this is its battery.

Although the Galaxy A50’s battery is smaller than that of the Galaxy M20 (5000mAh), it is bigger than that of the Galaxy M10 (3,400mAh). It has the same 6.2-inch display and it should be able to last a bit more than a day paired with the Exynos 9610 processor.

Geekbench already revealed that the Galaxy A50 will have 4GB of RAM and it is expected to be paired with 64GB of storage. Samsung may also announce a 6GB RAM variant with 128GB of storage.

For optics, the phone will have triple rear cameras and a 24MP selfie camera. It will have an in-display fingerprint scanner and run Android Pie out of the box.

We already know what the LG G8 ThinQ will look like thanks to leaked press renders. While the display still has a notch and the number of cameras on the back has remained unchanged, the LG G8 ThinQ does differ from the LG G7 ThinQ in other ways. One of which is its battery capacity which leaked last week.

The battery capacity of the phone was found in certification documents issued by Brazil’s version of the FCC called Anatel. The certification was issued for a Li-ion battery with model number BL-T41.

The document says the battery has a nominal capacity of 3,400mAh but an image of the battery itself shows the capacity is 3,500mAh. So how do we know it is for the LG G8 ThinQ?

The document says the LG BL-T41 is compatible with “Projecto Alpha” and since it has been reported that the codename for the upcoming flagship is “Alpha”, one can deduce this is the LG G8 ThinQ’s battery.

The LG G7 ThinQ has a 3,000mAh battery, so 3,500mAh is definitely a significant bump for the LG G8 ThinQ. On the other hand, the LG V50 ThinQ is said to pack a 4,000mAh.
