HarmonyOS from Huawei is poised to overtake Apple’s iOS as China’s second-most popular smartphone operating system by 2024, according to a report by TechInsights. This optimistic outlook stems from Huawei’s triumphant reentry into the 5G market with the Mate 60 series, overcoming supply challenges, and generating enthusiasm for the Mate 60 Pro, the pioneering 5G phone featuring Huawei’s Kirin 9000 chipset, defying US sanctions.

The success of HarmonyOS is bolstered by strategic software upgrades. HarmonyOS Next, scheduled for a 2024 debut, is tailored for native apps, eliminating the Android codebase. Key players in the Chinese tech scene, such as Alipay, JD.com, NetEase, and McDonald’s China, are actively contributing to the development of native apps, fortifying the platform’s ecosystem.

Current metrics highlight HarmonyOS’s momentum, boasting over 700 million devices and engaging more than 2.2 million third-party developers. Huawei’s CEO, Richard Yu Chengdong, acknowledges the platform’s strides in China while recognizing global challenges.

HOW TO TRANSFER YOUR DATA FROM iOS TO ANDROID

You need an iPhone running iOS 15.5 or later and an Android smartphone with at least Android 5.0, according to the WhatsApp FAQ. Additionally, your Android device must have WhatsApp version 2.22.7.74 or higher installed, and your iOS device must have WhatsApp version 2.22.10.70 or higher installed. You’ll need an iPhone that is either brand-new or has undergone a factory reset, as well as an Android phone with the Move to iOS software downloaded. Finally, you must use the same phone number on your new iOS device, have both devices linked to the same Wi-Fi network, and have a power source.

Battlegrounds Mobile India teases iOS launch for iPhones and iPads

While Krafton Inc had stated that Battlegrounds Mobile India will be arriving in iOS sometime after its launch, the company has yet to provide any finer details as to when the game would officially arrive for iPads and iPhones. Now, a new social media post on their official Instagram handle hints that the launch is just around the corner.

As of right now, BGMI is only available in India on Android OS. Although, Krafton’s official website had hinted at an iOS launch sometime in the near future. But, its latest post on Instagram might suggest an imminent launch. Looking at the social media post, the company wrote, “Please Note: We are preparing for all Indian players to receive rewards regardless of their OS.” (Via 91Mobiles)

Apart from this message, the company also included an Apple iOS emoji at the end. In other words, the game will officially be arriving in iOS soon. Notably, the rewards mentioned in the post are in regards to in game rewards that Battlegrounds Mobile India will offer to players once the game crosses a specific number of downloads. These figures include, 48 million, 49 million, and 50 million downloads.

The first milestone offers players three Supply Coupon Crate Scraps. while the second and third rewards offer three Classic Coupon Crate Scraps and a Permanent Galaxy Messenger Set permanently. At the moment, BGMI is one of the most popular mobile games in India on Android. However, a majority of the old PUBG Mobile players in the region also preferred the iOS platform, especially by esports and competitive playerbase. Battlegrounds Mobile India release for Apple iOS may be a while away: Report

While Battlegrounds Mobile India has been launched for Android smartphones, the Indian version of PUBG Mobile has yet to arrive on Apple’s iOS platform. Although, reports and official notes have revealed that the mobile game might not be arriving on iPhones anytime soon.

According to an InsideSport report, certain professional esports athletes have recently stated that the launch of BGMI might be a while away. These players include the likes of Kronten, Owner of Team GodLike esports, as well as popular streamer Mortal, who stated that “it’s unlikely that BGMI is coming anytime soon on iOS. I had a chat with them (Krafton) and they weren’t able to provide much. Krafton said there’s still some time left before they can come up with something solid.

Furthermore, Krafton Inc, the company behind the PUBG IP, also updated its support section, which was related to the release of BGMI for iOS. In this support section, the company stated that “We will keep our fans informed on further developments.
New updates will be released on our official website and social networks, so please stay tuned for further news!” In other words, we still have no official word on when the game would finally make its way to iPhones.

For those unaware, various professional and competitive players prefer the Apple iPhone for this mobile game. So, it would seem odd that Krafton has yet to release the title for iOS as well. Contra to launch in July for iOS and Android smartphones, Pre-Registerations live

Contra, a classic side scrolling run and gun shooter game, is making its way to smartphones soon. Konami has recently announced that it will be launching the game on iOS and Android in July 2021, even sharing a short trailer of the game on YouTube.

Notably, Konami has partnered up with Tencent to bring the game to the mobile platform. While versions of the game were seen before on Android, this is the first official release of one of the most iconic video games from Konami. For those unaware, Contra is a side scrolling game that was designed around arcades to offer a run and gun style of gameplay. Some versions of the game have even been available on PC, PlayStations, and Xbox consoles as well.

The new game has been titled “Contra Returns” and Konami has promised to offer an “authentic new take” on the series along with ” new graphics, gameplay upgrades, and more.” From what we know so far, the game will have customizable weapons and would even feature new characters and a storyline. The players will have to unlock new skills through playing the game to navigate through multiple stages.

In other words, Konami is bringing a modern touch to the game while also promising the same thrill as the original arcade versions. Contra returns will feature over 200 levels, new game modes, including a 1v1 and even 3v3 player vs player modes. Apple reportedly blocked potential frauds worth $1.5 billion on the App Store in 2020

US tech major Apple has announced that it prevented potentially fraudulent transactions via the Apple App Store to the tune of about $1.5 billion in 2020. The Apple news provides cheering reassurance to users of iOS devices that their safety is guaranteed when using the App Store.

There were a couple of accusations that Apple was not doing enough to safeguard its customers from potentially fraudulent activities on several fronts. One of the ways that fraudsters have used to gain access to critical data was through fraudulent apps. But Apple insists that its App Store remains a highly secure platform for mobile applications for its customers.

The blog post highlighted some of the steps taken to protect the App Store users, and the company outlined the outcomes. Apple said that up to a million problematic new apps were removed or rejected, together with a similar quantum of updates rejected. Several thousands of apps did not scale through the rigorous review process put in place, while many others were also axed for violating privacy restrictions.

Notably, the tech giant also says that more than 100,000 illegal apps were blocked on pirate storefronts, about 0.25 billion customer accounts were deactivated due to fraudulent or abusive activity within the year. In addition, about 424 million attempts at creating new accounts were denied after fraudulent patterns were associated with the potential accounts. Apple also says it could prevent more than 3 million stolen credit cards from being used to purchase goods and services.

App security remains a critical issue, and Apple focuses on establishing a secure platform responsive to potentially fraudulent activities. But despite these efforts there are still reports of fraudulent activities on the store. An iPhone user was recently thrown into confusion after his life saving of over $600,000 in Bitcoin was emptied by fraudsters using a fake Trezor wallet he downloaded from the Apple App Store.

AnTuTu lists the best iOS devices in October 2020, excludes iPhone 12

AnTuTu has just released its list for the best Apple iOS devices for the month of October 2020. This list excludes the newly launched iPhone 12 series and has the iPad Pro top the ranking.

The reason for the exclusion of the iPhone 12 series is apparently its launch. The 2020 flagship lineup was finally unveiled on October 13, however, it was only received by a relatively small number of users. Thus, AnTuTu decided to exclude it from its list. The iOS devices ranked in their October list is based on the user reviews and its overall reception that have been received last month.

Looking at the list, the iPad Pro (12.9 inch model) took the top spot with 99.48 percent 5 star ratings from users. The iPhone SE came in second with 98.07 percent while the iPad Pro (9.7 inch) and iPad Pro 2 (10.5 inch) came in third and fourth with 98.06 and 97.3 percent respectively. The only other iPhone that made it to the top 5 in the list is the 5 year old iPhone 6S Plus with a 97.25 percent 5 star ratings.

This list is indicative of how popular Apple devices remain despite their age. Other notable older models the iPhone 7 (96.03 percent), the base iPhone 6S (96.82 percent, and a couple of other iPad models as well. We might see the iPhone 12 lineup make an appearance in the November 2020 list. So stay tuned for more updates.

Windows Phone Is As Good As Dead in China while Android & iOS Continue to Soar

Windows Mobile OS is almost dead in China! That is the damning verdict contained on Kantar WorldPanel’s latest analysis of the mobile OS market. The latest report confirms what we are already getting accustomed to, which is that the world is moving towards a two mobile OS zone controlled entirely by Google’s Android OS and Apple’s iOS. All other mobile OS as we know them are dying off gradually.

Worse hit is the Microsoft Windows OS which lost ground even in some of its stronghold. Windows OS slipped to a miserly 1.3% in the US, dropping 50% from its position last year. Italy used to be one of Windows OS’ strongest market but it dropped from its market shares last year which stood at 7.2% to 4.4% presently. Talking about China, one of the world’s largest mobile phone market, Windows Mobile OS recorded 0.1% total sales in the last three months, according to Kantar. This leaves no room for doubt that Windows for mobile is as good as dead in China. Microsoft’s Lumia phones were the main users of the Windows Mobile OS but since the demise of the brand, usage on phones has dropped drastically in China and elsewhere.

Whereas Windows Mobile is dying, Google and Apple continues to dominate the terrain with the Android OS credited with 56.4% of smartphone sales in the US where it lost 1.8% of its share of the market to the iOS. Apple’s iOS accounts for 42% of the US smartphone market rising up by 2.9% from last year. In Europe’s largest markets, including Great Britain, Germany, France, Italy and Spain, Google’s Android phones accounted for 74.3% of smartphone sales in the latest period, recording a slight 1.4% increase from this same period last year.Apple’s iOS on the other hand, held a 22.7% share, with iPhone 7 remaining the top-selling device in Great Britain, France, and Germany.

The dominance is also rampant in the Asian market, including where Android clearly dominates. Perhaps, a clear demonstration of this dominance is the latest Blackberry and Nokia launch which saw both companies going for the Android operating system instead of their own OS. As it stands, there is no likelihood that this dominance would end in the near future but the good thing is that we are getting the best out of Android and iOS at the moment. Things just keep on getting better ad better with each new update and we hope for more.

Lockscreen bug found in iOS 7

Yesterday almost all iOS users has been update to the latest iOS 7 version. It did not take long, is now there is information about a security vulnerability in the latest iOS 7.

This can be done by performing bypass the lockscreen using a passcode and can go directly to the Photo app, where a gate to access email accounts and social networking.

First of all to do with the bypass code access the alarm feature through the Control Center, then to the multitasking menu and select the Camera application. This problem was found in iOS 7.0.1. This is not the first time a similar case occurred in the iOS security, hopefully Apple can quickly deal with this problem.

Maybe Apple will fix this security vulnerability in 7.0.2. But for now, for users who are already doing the update, you can take preventive actions to disable access to Control Center lockscreen in Settings menu to present an official update from Apple. Here we present the video bypass this code.
