However, recently, we spotted a new TCL smartphone on TENAA, the &#8220;TCL 598&#8221; which features front and rear dual cameras. Yes, you heard it right! The phone comes with dual cameras on both the front, as well as the back. So, it looks like it&#8217;s taking a few pointers from LG&#8217;s V10 flagship.</p>

<a href='https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/TCL-598-04.jpg?x10805'><img width="225" height="300" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/TCL-598-04-225x300.jpg?x10805" class="attachment-medium size-medium" alt="TCL 598 04" loading="lazy" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/TCL-598-04-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/TCL-598-04.jpg 480w" sizes="(max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px" /></a>
<a href='https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/TCL-598-02.jpg?x10805'><img width="225" height="300" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/TCL-598-02-225x300.jpg?x10805" class="attachment-medium size-medium" alt="TCL 598 02" loading="lazy" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/TCL-598-02-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/TCL-598-02.jpg 480w" sizes="(max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px" /></a>

<p>The basic design of the TCL 598 is similar to the LG G4, however, it features a brushed metal finish. You will find the dual camera setup as well as the fingerprint sensor at the back. As for the hardware, the TCL 598 comes with a 2.3GHz Helio X20 deca-core chip with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The memory is expandable up to 128GB. There will be a 5.5-inch 1080p display on board and a 5MP + 8MP front facing dual camera setup. At the back, the phone comes with 13MP dual camera setup. As for the battery, it&#8217;s measures 3030mAh and is fitted inside an 8.7mm body. The phone weighs 157 grams.</p>

<a href='https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/TCL-598-03.jpg?x10805'><img width="225" height="300" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/TCL-598-03-225x300.jpg?x10805" class="attachment-medium size-medium" alt="" loading="lazy" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/TCL-598-03-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/TCL-598-03.jpg 480w" sizes="(max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px" /></a>
<a href='https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/TCL-598-01.jpg?x10805'><img width="225" height="300" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/TCL-598-01-225x300.jpg?x10805" class="attachment-medium size-medium" alt="" loading="lazy" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/TCL-598-01-225x300.jpg 225w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/TCL-598-01.jpg 480w" sizes="(max-width: 225px) 100vw, 225px" /></a>

<p>Overall, the specs are pretty good and the design is decent as well. It would be interesting to see how the dual cameras on both, the front as well as the back, performs. Since the phone has passed TENAA certification, an official launch should be near. Stay tuned for details.</p>

<p style="text-align: justify">About 4 months ago, we reported that the Mate 9 is rumoured to come with a 20MP dual-camera setup. While we can&#8217;t confirm if it will indeed be 20MP  sensors, we can say with a little more certainty that the phone will feature dual-cameras based on leaked photos of what an individual whose name translates to @Buns says is the Mate 9.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-93769" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/Huawei-Mate-9-2.jpg?x10805" alt="Huawei Mate 9 2" width="587" height="649" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/Huawei-Mate-9-2.jpg 587w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/Huawei-Mate-9-2-271x300.jpg 271w" sizes="(max-width: 587px) 100vw, 587px" /></p>
<p style="text-align: justify">The camera is positioned differently from how you have it on the Huawei P9. Instead of being side by side and on the left, they are in the middle and stacked on each other with what appears to be a laser for autofocus and LED flash flanking it on both sides. The image also shows a fingerprint scanner below the cameras. Another image uploaded shows the bottom of the phone which reveals the phone will come with USB Type-C.</p>
<p style="text-align: center"><span style="color: #ff0000">RELATED:</span> <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/08/10/huawei-mate-9-spotted-benchmark-gfxbench/"><span style="color: #3366ff">Supposed <span style="color: #3366ff">H</span>uawei Mate 9 Spotted on GFXBench</span></a></p>
<p style="text-align: justify">The size of the phone also kind of confirms that it may indeed come with a 5.9&#8221; screen.  The Mate 9 is expected to be released in October or November and is said to come with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.</p>

First <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/01/15/bezelless-elephone-p9000-edge-official-wireless-charging-touch-id-android-6-0/">revealed back in January</a>, recently we have been getting some interesting details about the device. We already know that the phone comes with dual cameras at the back, in fact, we saw the real life image of the P9000 Edge<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/06/01/elephone-p9000-edge-specs-confirmed-5-7-inch-2k-jdi-bezel-less-screen/"> a few weeks back</a>. But until now, the details of the dual camera setup were not available. That changes today.</p>
20160419183655-160x120.jpg 160w" sizes="(max-width: 2560px) 100vw, 2560px" /></p>
<p>Elephone has just revealed to us that the Elephone P9000 Edge will come with 2 x Sony IMX258 cameras at the back along with PDAF. Like other dual camera setups in the market, the primary camera sensor will take care of shooting the image while the secondary camera sensor will take care of the depth of field and spatial information in order to achieve accurate results with fast focus. So, naturally, this means the phone will support depth of field photography, which essentially blurs the background to bring the object in focus. Another advantage of the presence of dual cameras is said to be the improved night time photography. The two camera setup at the back reportedly helps in low-light conditions, reducing noise, spots and improving the overall image.</p>

<p>Well, we have seen dual camera-equipped smartphones sport the features mentioned above, but when a cheap Chinese phone claims to achieve the same features, it really makes the device sound a lot more interesting.</p>
<p>Considering the information we have received till now, the Elephone P9000 Edge is turning out to be an interesting smartphone. Most of the specs of the phone have already been revealed, and you can <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/06/13/elephone-p9000-edge-specs-revealed/">read all about that from our previous coverage</a>.</p>

We have been regularly hearing about the phone for the past couple of months and most of the specs have been more or less revealed. The company has sent out invites for the event to several media outlets and they once again confirm the presence of dual camera setup on the device.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-77799" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/b8bae833e69fa04.jpg?x10805" alt="b8bae833e69fa04.jpg" width="500" height="294" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/b8bae833e69fa04.jpg 500w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/b8bae833e69fa04-300x176.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px" /></p>
<p>The invite hints the presence of dual cameras on multiple places. First of all, we can see the usual dual circles, the ones we had <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/03/09/huawei-p9-teaser-released-almost-confirms-leica-lens-board/">seen on the previous teasers</a>, right on top of the invite box. Then, inside, there&#8217;s a camera roll, which once again has the dual circles. So, like before, the company is stressing that the phone will focus a lot on its camera performance.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-77798" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/ed2f54e19c91fae.jpg?x10805" alt="ed2f54e19c91fae.jpg" width="500" height="294" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/ed2f54e19c91fae.jpg 500w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/ed2f54e19c91fae-300x176.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px" /></p>
<p>The teasers for the launch claim that the phone will &#8220;Will Change the Way You See the World&#8221;. Well, this sounds like a big claim, which we hope the company manages to keep up to. Huawei has experience with dual camera setup on a smartphone. Remember the <a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2014/12/16/huawei-honor-6-plus-officially-launched/">Honor 6 Plus with its 8MP dual cameras</a>?</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-77800" src="http://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/2430301f5699d66.jpg_600x600.jpg?x10805" alt="2430301f5699d66.jpg_600x600.jpg" width="600" height="900" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/2430301f5699d66.jpg_600x600.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/2430301f5699d66.jpg_600x600-200x300.jpg 200w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<p>According to recent reports, the new Huawei P9 will come with the second generation version of the technology that was found on the Honor 6 Plus. So, we can expect pretty good performance from the device.</p>
<p>Recent leaks have showed us that the Huawei P9 will come with 12MP dual rear cameras and the lens setup with be provided by Leica. We expect one unit to be a color camera while the other, a black and white one. But what kind of breakthrough technology will be achieved by this combination is something that remains to be seen.</p>
<p>There have been several manufacturers who have experimented with dual camera setup on their flagships. But till now, we haven&#8217;t been blown away by their performances. Maybe P9&#8217;s dual camera setup will change out opinion. Let&#8217;s wait and watch.</p>
<p>Recently, the specs of the top-end variants in the Huawei P9 lineup, namely the Huawei P9 Max and the P9 Plus were leaked. You can read about<a href="http://www.gizmochina.com/2016/03/30/huawei-p9-max-p9-plus-specs-features-leaked/"> them from here</a>.</p>
<p>April 6 is less than a week away. And as we near the launch, the phone looks at the more exciting.</p>
