And now, we have an official response from the professional camera rating based firm.</p>
<p>Earlier today (19th September 2022), the CEO of DXOMark, Frédéric Guichard accepted an interview in which he stated that he is not addressing Xiaomi&#8217;s stance of not sending over smartphones for testing, but he will be answering some major questions from consumers on social media. Apparently, Xiaomi and some other manufacturers have decided to not send their new launches for camera testing this year.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class=" wp-image-486490 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/DXOMARK.jpg?x44794" alt="DXOMARK" width="558" height="314" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/DXOMARK.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/DXOMARK-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/DXOMARK-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/DXOMARK-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/DXOMARK-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/DXOMARK-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/DXOMARK-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/09/DXOMARK-747x420.jpg 747w" sizes="(max-width: 558px) 100vw, 558px" /></p>
<p>As per the CEO of DXOMark, the reason for less OEMs sending phones for testing isn&#8217;t because of any disputes with the tests themselves, rather, the brand are not sending over phones since its very hard for a new model to take the top spot in the DXOMark&#8217;s listing. He further added that only smartphones that score in the top are able to promote their camera test rankings. In other words, the tests only help out when the scores are high enough to be marketed. Frederic Guichar said that the revenue from its evaluation reports are also quite sizeable.</p>
<p>But despite this, it dose not sell any points or rankings on its platform and its business model is offering its service from its laboratories and technologies. The published scores on DXOMark depend only on the quality of the product and are not affected by whether a smartphone maker chooses to opt for the evaluation service. Although, it is worth noting that the camera rating brand also offers its services in terms of tweaking the cameras on smartphones. Basically, it helps optimize the smartphone sensors that should help them get better scores on their tests as well.</p>

<p>DxOMark has developed a new battery benchmark that provides a fair and scientific assessment of a phone’s battery based on several parameters like the charging speed, efficiency, and performance in different scenarios. The new score has enabled the French analytics company to rank smartphones based on their battery’s capabilities and performance.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/dxomark-battery-tests-2.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-388847" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/dxomark-battery-tests-2.jpg?x44794" alt="DxOMark battery test" width="1024" height="768" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/dxomark-battery-tests-2.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/dxomark-battery-tests-2-300x225.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/dxomark-battery-tests-2-768x576.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/dxomark-battery-tests-2-80x60.jpg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/dxomark-battery-tests-2-265x198.jpg 265w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/dxomark-battery-tests-2-696x522.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/dxomark-battery-tests-2-560x420.jpg 560w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></p>
<p>The score is a culmination of several experiments and tests in a broad spectrum of everyday activities. The company carried out extensive simulations on various scenarios and evolved a scientifically sound metric that could honestly assess a phone’s battery. Up to 100 battery parameters were tested according to DxOMark, and for each device tested, the duration was up to 150 hours. Three important components were narrowed down through which the rating would be accomplished. These are battery autonomy, charging, and efficiency. These three components help the company to conceptualize a score for each battery.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/dxomark-battery-tests-3.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-388848" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/dxomark-battery-tests-3.png?x44794" alt="dxomark battery test" width="766" height="320" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/dxomark-battery-tests-3.png 766w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/dxomark-battery-tests-3-300x125.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/dxomark-battery-tests-3-696x291.png 696w" sizes="(max-width: 766px) 100vw, 766px" /></a></p>
<p>The tests by DxOMark on phone batteries are indeed pervasive and offer a pretty accurate assessment of a battery. However, it would take time to produce an exhaustive list of smartphones ranked through DxOMark’s battery assessment metric.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/dxomark-battery-tests-4.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-388849" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/dxomark-battery-tests-4.png?x44794" alt="DxOMark battery test ranking" width="637" height="357" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/dxomark-battery-tests-4.png 637w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/05/dxomark-battery-tests-4-300x168.png 300w" sizes="(max-width: 637px) 100vw, 637px" /></a></p>
<p>Seventeen smartphones have been assessed in the first list unveiled by DxOMark. The Samsung Galaxy M51 comes top, followed by Wico Power U30, and the OPPO Find X3 comes third. A few other premium brands make up the list.</p>
<p>We expect that DxOMarks will come up with a more comprehensive list of smartphones ranked on their performance criteria.</p>
