Some accessories of the yet-to-be-released Google Pixel Tablet have been spotted via Google code. This seems to confirm rumors about a keyboard and stylus for the tablet. Google started snipping the Pixel Tablet after it was showcased at I/O 2023.

The Google Tablet will come with a first-party keyboard and stylus to enhance its versatility. It will also be bundled with a charging dock that transforms the tablet into a smart speaker. It is expected that Google will unveil more accessories for the tablet after the release of Android 14 OS. There are hints however from Google code that the new accessories will include the keyboard and stylus. The names of the two accessories are Keyboard for Pixel Tablet and Stylus for Pixel Tablet.

The Pixel Tablet accessories have been previously spotted by a developer. The new discovery was from the Pixel Retail Demo app. This was accessed via the PixelSetupWizardOverlay APK. The two accessories are categorized under currently selling Google products.

Android 14 comes with improvements in keyboard and stylus integration. There are more keyboard shortcuts and refined Stylus functions in Android 14. The tablet will also support USB 2.0 styluses even though there are no Google-approved models to date. The speculation only relates to evidence from Google code and no pictures have been seen of either of the two accessories.

Google is getting set to unveil its lineup of products during its autumn hardware launch event. Some of the models already slated for launch are the Pixel 8, Pixel 8 Pro, and Pixel Watch 2. It remains to be seen whether the Pixel Tablet will also make the cut.

Back in May 2022, Google had confirmed that it will be launching a new Android tablet in the market soon. This model is believed to be the Pixel Tablet, but prior to its announcement, a leak has revealed some key details regarding this device.

For those unaware, the Search Engine giant has confirmed that the tablet will be launching sometime in 2023. However, new rumors and reports are still surfacing regarding this tablet. Now, developer Kuba Wojciechowski shared some specifications regarding the upcoming Pixel Tablet to 91Mobiles as he claims that the Pixel tablet enters EVT phase (engineering validation test). This EVT phase basically implies that the tablet is now outside of the prototype stage and the company is working on the finalizing the device.

This is both in terms of its design and internal specifications and other as well. Wojciechowski further added that the brand has even shipped some Pixel Tablet units to India as well, for EVT and certification purposes. While the Pixel Tablet is still under wraps, Kuba revealed that the tablet will come in two storage options, namely a 128GB and 256GB internal storage model. Its unclear if the RAM in these two options would be different as well.

Furthermore, the Pixel Tablet will sport a large 10.95 inch display and also support WiFi 6 standards. He also claimed that he spotted Google’s first party USI 2.0 stylus for the Pixel tablet, which isn’t completely unexpected since the tablet was already certified for USI previously. Google officially announced the Pixel Tablet at its annual developer’s conference on May 11, 2022. However, details about the upcoming tablet are still pretty short. We know that it may release in 2023 and will be equipped with a Tensor chip. Today, some new information regarding the tablet has surfaced online. The upcoming Pixel tablet might debut with a 64-bit-only version of Android 13.

According to a recent tweet by Mishaal Rahman, Google is testing 64-bit-only builds of Android 13 for a device named “Tangor,” which is said to be the codename for the Pixel tablet. The lack of 32-bit support will definitely reduce RAM usage, but it also means that the tablet will no longer be able to run 32-bit applications. However, this shouldn’t be a big deal as most apps in the Play Store need to support 64-bit due to Google’s 2019 mandate.

To recall, Apple had already moved to a 64-bit-only architecture for iOS back in 2017. If the Pixel Tablet ships with a 64-bit-only version of Android 13, it will be among the first Android devices to do so.

As mentioned, the Google Pixel tablet is expected to debut in 2023. Since there’s still almost a year to the launch, we can expect it to be powered by the Tensor 2 or 3 chipset. It will likely run the latest version of Android out of the box. It may also get support for the stylus. Further, it is claimed that the Pixel Tablet will lack support for 4K video recording. It would also not support many of the photo and video features found on the Pixel 6 series.
