The device uses a 4,400mm² Cryo-Velocity vapor chamber and an added graphite cooling layer in the rear panel to manage heat. It comes with 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB UFS 4.0 storage.

The rear camera setup includes a 50MP LYT-700 sensor and a 50MP 2x telephoto lens. It skips an ultra-wide camera but adds value with a 5,850mAh battery, 80W charging, IP65 rating, and a customizable “Plus Key” on the side. The starting price is Rs. 54,999 ($638).

Vivo T4 Ultra

Vivo positioned the T4 Ultra as a feature-rich midranger that flirts with flagship territory. The F7 packs a 7550mAh battery, supports 90W fast charging and 22.5W reverse charging, and uses a metal frame. It holds IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings and starts at Rs. 31,999 ($372). For power users, it’s one of the most aggressive value plays of the month.

Motorola Edge 60

Motorola introduced the Edge 60 as a durable and well-balanced midrange device in the Indian market. It comes with a 6.67-inch quad-curved pOLED panel at 1.5K resolution and 4500 nits peak brightness, protected by Gorilla Glass 7i. The phone uses the Dimensity 7300 SoC and runs Android 15 with 12GB of RAM.

Infinix GT 30 Pro

Infinix leaned into gaming with the GT 30 Pro. It features a 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display with 144Hz refresh rate and is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 8350 Ultimate chip. The phone supports 520Hz shoulder triggers, a detachable magnetic fan, and customizable RGB lighting on the rear.

It also supports 45W wired and 30W wireless charging, includes Android 15 out of the box, and starts at Rs. 24,999 ($290) in India. At this price, it’s one of the most complete gaming phones in the budget segment.

Xiaomi’s June 26 Mega Event

Xiaomi is preparing to host one of its most ambitious product events of the year on June 26, bringing a diverse lineup that spans foldable smartphones, high-performance tablets, wearables, and even an electric SUV. The company has teased its intent to expand far beyond mobile, and this event solidifies its push into a broader hardware ecosystem.

Xiaomi Mix Flip 2

The star of the event is expected to be the Mix Flip 2, Xiaomi’s first flip-style foldable and its only foldable for 2025. The device aims to compete directly with Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 7, and the specifications make that ambition clear. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and features a 6.85-inch LTPO AMOLED inner display alongside a 4.01-inch outer screen.

Huawei Pura 80 Series Making its Global Debut Next Month

The Chinese tech giant just confirmed the official launch date for the overseas market. The Pura 80 lineup will make its global debut in Dubai on 10th July 2025. As of right now, Huawei has yet to confirm the availability details, so its unclear which regions it will release in. To recall, the Huawei Pura 80 Ultra is the flagship model, which brings the world’s first dual lens telephoto shooter.

That’s not all, the primary sensor is a 1-inch 50MP camera with a f/1.6-4 variable aperture, which is paired with a 40MP ultra wide angle lens, a 1.5MP spectrum sensor, and a 50MP + 12.5MP dual periscope telephoto lens setup (3.7x and 9.4x optical zoom). On the other hand, the Pura 80 Pro models also pack the 50MP 1-inch RYYB primary sensor with variable aperture support and a 40MP ultra wide angle lens, but the periscope telephoto shooter only offers 4x optical zoom.

Huawei’s entire Pura 80 series is equipped with the Kirin 8020 SoC, support for wired and wireless fast charging, and satellite communication as well. These are flagship devices with a premium price tag, so we can expect these models to start from 1,000 US Dollars in the global market as well.

Build and Feel:
Both models share an identical design language with premium glass builds and aluminum frames, along with IP68/IP69 water and dust resistance. However, the Pura 80 Ultra feels slightly more substantial due to its weight, giving it a sturdier hand feel, which some users might associate with durability. The Pro+ is lighter and may be easier to handle for prolonged use. The difference isn’t significant in day-to-day usage, but the Ultra gives a marginally more premium in-hand impression.

Display Quality:
Display-wise, both phones offer the same 6.8-inch LTPO OLED panels with 120Hz refresh rates, HDR support, 1440Hz PWM dimming, and 3000 nits peak brightness. Verdict:
While the displays are equally matched, the Pura 80 Ultra edges out with a slightly more solid in-hand feel that enhances its premium positioning. However, for users preferring a lighter device, the Pro+ is more comfortable.

Both phones run on the same Kirin 9020 chipset paired with 16GB RAM and up to 1TB storage. There is no performance distinction in CPU, GPU, or OS experience. Gaming, multitasking, and app launches perform identically across both models. Software-wise, both ship with HarmonyOS 5.1 in China and EMUI internationally. Performance parity means neither phone has an upper hand in real-world usage.

Battery and Charging:
Battery capacity is also the same at 5700mAh. Both support 100W wired and 80W wireless charging. However, the Pura 80 Ultra supports an additional 20W reverse wireless charging, compared to the Pro+ which lacks this feature. This makes the Ultra slightly more versatile, especially for users who reverse-charge accessories like earbuds or other phones.

Verdict:
Specifications are nearly identical, but the Pura 80 Ultra offers an edge with enhanced reverse wireless charging, which adds functional value without compromising on performance.

Camera

Main and Secondary Lenses:
The Ultra features a more advanced quad-camera setup with two periscope lenses: a 50MP 3.7x zoom and a 12.5MP 9.4x zoom. This setup enables significantly more flexible telephoto performance. In contrast, the Pro+ has a triple-camera array with a 48MP telephoto lens offering up to 4x zoom. Both share the same main 50MP wide and 40MP ultrawide lenses. Here we have the brand new HUAWEI Pura 80 Pro+, I am sure you still remember the Pura 70 Ultra which has a retractable lens. Well, on the Pura 80 series, it’s gone. But the new series comes with a ground-breaking lens structure inside, along with some new camera features. We are lucky enough to have it (China version) right after the launch event, now let’s take a first look.

Camera

We were invited to the launch event, where my colleague experienced the legendary Switchable Tele Lens, meaning “one sensor, with two focal length lenses” on the Pura 80 Ultra.

The telephoto cameras of this phone share the same sensor to achieve two different focal lengths, and the movable prism is the key to this technology. When using the 10x telephoto, it is the same as a normal periscope telephoto. When switching to the 3.7x camera, the prism moves to the second lens.

There are many advantages to doing this, the most obvious of which is saving space inside the phone. Compared to other 4-lens phones, the camera module on this phone is a little smaller. The space saved can be used to fit a larger battery or a larger Vapor Chamber.

The second advantage is image quality. As you all know, Sony has achieved 85-170mm optical zoom on mobile phones, which changes the focal length by moving the lens back and forth. Although the principle of the Pura 80 Ultra is similar, the 3.7x to 10x is still digitally cropped. Because HUAWEI knows that the optical quality of a zoom lens is hard to match that of a fixed-focus lens, they chose to make two fixed-focus lenses instead of one zoom lens. The photo quality must be better.

In addition to the telephoto camera, there is also a new one-inch main sensor made in China, which is worth paying attention to. The retractable structure is cancelled, the variable aperture is still there, and the dynamic range is further improved. I am looking forward to using it for more photography creations, and I will definitely do a more detailed camera review after we buy the Pura 80 Ultra.

Pura 80 Pro+

I have also listed the other camera specs in a table, all of which are world-class. Except for the camera part, other specs of the Pro+ and Ultra versions are almost the same. So… (Take out the phone) I borrowed the Pro+ from HUAWEI, and now let’s talk about the more affordable Pura 80 Pro+.

Design

The overall design of the Pura 80 series has not changed much compared to the 70 series. The camera module is still placed in the upper left corner, but it is a little bigger. The module isn’t in the way of the finger, which is a good thing. The frame is arc-shaped, so the phone is like a pebble with a screen.

The one we borrowed is the bright black version with a ceramic coating, so you can really use it as a mirror. One controversial thing is that the fingerprint recognition sensor has been moved from under the screen to the power button. Some people like it and some don’t. I am not sure what I think yet.

Although due to the limitations of HarmonyOS NEXT, we cannot know its specific processor model. But according to the data of GeekBench 6, it must be Kirin 9020 at least. Maybe it is the new Kirin 9030? I don’t know, we still need time to explore.

Screen & Others

The screen of Pura 80 Pro+ does not look changed, and it is also a popular four-curved screen recently. The maximum brightness has increased, and there are not many upgrades other than that.

The battery is definitely bigger, it is a 5700mAh battery plus 100W wired charging power, which is what a flagship phone should have. Of course, there are also features like 80W wireless charging and satellite communication. Anyway, you have spent $1,100, HUAWEI will embrace your requests.

It is obvious that the Pura 80 series has evolved again. Familiar but refined design

All four Pura 80 models share a sleek design language, with the Pro and Ultra models getting a touch more flair. The Pura 80 sticks to a 6.6-inch flat OLED panel, while the Pro, Pro+, and Ultra bump it up to a 6.8-inch curved OLED. The panels all support LTPO 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rates, 10-bit color depth (1.07 billion colors), HDR Vivid certification, and a peak local brightness of 3000 nits.

Second-generation Kunlun Glass is used across the range for added durability, and the entire series is IP68/IP69 rated for water and dust resistance. The Ultra takes it a step further with a unique “sun-pattern” rear finish and gold accents that subtly highlight its flagship positioning.

Big batteries for a long-lasting experience

If there is one practical area where Huawei clearly listened to user demand, it is battery life. The base Pura 80 comes with a 5600mAh battery that supports 66W wired and 50W wireless charging. The Ultra takes the biggest leap with a dual-focal-length switchable periscope telephoto system. This innovative module allows users to switch between two native optical zoom levels: 3.7x and 9.4x, both using a 1/1.28-inch sensor for superb image quality across the zoom range. Huawei claims the Ultra’s main 50MP sensor also delivers 16EV of dynamic range, the highest ever recorded in a smartphone camera, with up to 15x higher dynamic range than the Pura 70 Ultra.

Beyond the numbers, Huawei is adding more computational photography tools to its lineup this year. New shooting modes include Nature, Film, Movie, and Cartoon presets, along with a real-time video fusion feature that improves highlight retention and tone mapping in difficult lighting.

Satellite messaging: smarter, faster, and two-way

Huawei was one of the first brands to adopt satellite messaging on its consumer smartphones, and the Pura 80 series evolves this capability further. The Pura 80 and Pura 80 Pro support two-way Beidou satellite messaging, allowing not just text but also photo transmission.

The Pro+ goes a step further with dual satellite system support (Beidou + Tiantong), enabling more consistent satellite lock-on and improved reliability during emergencies. Users no longer need to manually align the phone for transmission, the system intelligently manages satellite selection and connectivity.

Software smarts and AI integration

All Pura 80 models run HarmonyOS 5.1 and include Huawei’s Xiaoyi AI assistant. Huawei is pushing more AI-driven features this year, such as AI anti-peeping alerts, AI-based file transfer (AI Teleportation), and AI noise reduction for calls.

The Ark Engine, a new optimization framework in the Pro and Ultra models, is claimed to deliver up to 36% better performance than the previous generation, though Huawei has not disclosed the exact chipset in use. Huawei Pura 80 Pro Series

The new Pura 80 Pro series doesn’t skip out on the 1-inch camera sensor. Both models pack a 50MP 1-inch RYYB primary sensor that has a f/1.6-4 variable aperture and OIS support, along with a 40MP ultra wide angle lens, a 48MP RYYB periscope telephoto shooter with 4x optical zoom and OIS support, and a multispectral sensor. For selfies and video calls, the front houses a 13MP shooter.

The Pro variants sport a taller 6.8-inch LTPO OLED display with a 1.5K resolution, 120Hz variable refresh rate, P3 wide color gamut, and 2nd gen Kunlun Glass (2nd Gen basalt tempered on the Pura 80 Pro+) for protection. Huawei’s entire Pura 80 lineup is equipped with the Kirin 9020 SoC. The regular Pro variant couples this with 12GB of RAM and up to 1TB of storage. Meanwhile, the Pura 80 Pro+ upgrades the RAM to 16GB with up to 1TB of storage.

A large 5,700mAh battery pack powers both variants, which support 100W wired fast charging, 80W wireless fast charging, and 18W reverse wired and wireless charging. Other notable features include two-way Beidou satellite messaging, side mounted fingerprint scanners, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, WiFi 7, and Huawei Histen sound on the dual stereo speaker system.

Huawei Pura 80

The base variant doesn’t come with a 1-inch sensor, but still includes a 50MP main camera with f/1.6-4 variable aperture and OIS support. This camera is paired with a 13MP ultra wide angle lens, a 12MP periscope telephoto shooter with 5.5x optical zoom, and a 1.5MP multispectral sensor. The front retains the 13MP selfie shooter.

You get a smaller 6.6-inch flat LTPO OLED screen with an FHD+ resolution, a 120Hz refresh rate, 2nd Gen Kunlun Glass, and 3000 nits of peak brightness. Despite the smaller form factor, it still houses a sizeable 5,600mAh battery pack with 66W wired fast charging, 50W wireless fast charging, and 5W reverse wired charging. Other notable features include WiFi 7, Bluetooth 5.2, stereo speakers, Beidou satellite messaging, and NFC.

Pricing and Availability

Huawei announced the Pura 80 in four color options, namely Velvet Gold, Green, White, and Black. On the other hand, the Pura 80 Pro has Gold, Black, and White variants, while the Pura 80 Pro+ can be purchased in Red, Green, Black, and White. So here are their pricing details:

Pura 80 Pro

• 12GB + 256GB – 6,499 yuan (roughly 904 US Dollars)
• 12GB + 512GB – 6,999 yuan (roughly 973 US Dollars)
• 12GB + 1TB – 7,999 yuan (roughly 1112 US Dollars)

Pura 80 Pro+

• 16GB + 512GB – 7,999 yuan (roughly 1112 US Dollars)
• 16GB + 1TB – 8,999 yuan (roughly 1252 US Dollars)

The pricing for the base variant has yet to be announced. Although, the Pura 80 Pro series is set to go on sale on 14th June 2025, while the Ultra goes on sale on June 26.

Huawei is set to launch its flagship Pura 80 series on June 11 and has been teasing it as a camera powerhouse. Now prolific leaker Digital Char Station has revealed some more interesting information about the Pro and Pro+ models’ build and design.

According to DCS, the Pura 80 Pro+ will feature a slightly curved display paired with a curved metal middle frame. This design should offer a more comfortable grip compared to rivals that use a completely flat display and frame.

The display includes a single punch-hole selfie camera smack in the center, which might mean Huawei’s ditching its fancy 3D facial recognition tech for another year. The Pura 80 Pro could sport a similar vibe, though only the Ultra’s rumored to get a slick tandem OLED panel.

Now, the cameras? They’re stealing the show. Tipster Digital Chat Station says both the Pro and Pro+ might rock Huawei’s new 1-inch 50MP main sensor, paired with a 24mm variable aperture lens—a step up from the 25mm in the Pura 70 Pro+. Plus, there’s talk of a periscope zoom lens, now at 89mm instead of 93mm.

Interestingly, it’s said to be equivalent to 3.7x optical zoom compared to the 3.5x in the Pura 70 Pro and Pura 70 Pro+. The brand has already hinted at a 2x (48mm) and 3.7x (89mm) telephoto setup, and is rumored to equip the series with a 50MP 1/1.28-inch sensor.

Huawei is opening up reservations for its upcoming Pura 80 series, ahead of an official unveiling set for June 11 in China. The pre-launch routine follows a familiar playbook for the company, which often invites early interest before pulling the curtain back on its new devices.

Starting today, Huawei’s VMall store has begun accepting pre-reservations for the Pura 80 Pro and the Pura 80 Pro+. These are two of the four expected models in the lineup. As of this writing, the pair has already attracted over 34,000 combined reservations.

Pura 80 retains Huawei’s iconic camera design

The pre-reservation listing may also offer an early glimpse at one of the phones. A promotional image shows what appears to be the Pura 80 in a pleasing red finish. The camera module retains the iconic triangular design, complete with the company’s XMAGE imaging branding. 

The broader Pura 80 lineup is rumored to include four models: the base Pura 80, the Pro, the Pro+, and an Ultra version. According to reporting from MyDrivers, the vanilla Pura 80 and top-tier Ultra may not arrive alongside the others and could be saved for a later launch.

Details on the Pura 80 Pro+ have started to emerge through leaks. Tipster Digital Chat Station claims the device will feature a 50MP triple-camera setup with a large sensor, along with a multispectral sensor.  

The device also features a curved metal frame and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The entire Pura 80 series will debut with HarmonyOS 5 out of the box, making it the first flat-flagship line-up to do so. Since its unveiling in March, HarmonyOS 5 has received iterative updates focused on improved security, fluidity, and ecosystem integration.

There’s still a lot that Huawei hasn’t confirmed. But we don’t have to wait much as the launch is just a week away.

Huawei is preparing to unveil its highly anticipated Pura 80 series smartphones on June 11th. Building upon the foundation of the Pura 70 series, which launched in April 2024, the new lineup promises to bring significant advancements and upgrades.

Recent leaks have fueled anticipation among tech enthusiasts, painting a picture of what’s to come. The Pura 80 series is said to feature a more powerful chip and will debut with the new HarmonyOS 5. Enhancements are also expected in the camera system, alongside a tweaked design, signaling Huawei’s continued focus on mobile imaging and user experience.

Without further ado, let’s dive into a roundup of what we know so far about the upcoming Huawei Pura 80 series.

Familiar Form, Enhanced Prominence

As per recent leaks and official teasers, the Huawei Pura 80 series will arrive with a slightly tweaked design, evolving the aesthetic seen in its predecessor. 

The phones are expected to retain the distinctive rounded triangular (or shield-like) camera module from the Pura 70 series. However, this signature element will likely be even more of a focal point, as indications suggest the module will be bigger and therefore more prominent on the new devices.

Leaked images, particularly those purported to be of the Pura 80 Ultra, appear to confirm these design adjustments. This enlarged camera housing isn’t just for visual emphasis; the module is expected to include an advanced camera array, with some reports suggesting it could house two periscope telephoto shooters.

Powered by Kirin 9020 and HarmonyOS 5

The HiSilicon Kirin 9020 chip will power the Huawei Pura 80 series. Although it shares the 7nm SMIC manufacturing process with the Kirin 9010, the 9020 delivers key upgrades. Its CPU offers a faster main TaiShan V121 core at 2.5 GHz, incorporates different Taishan-Little efficiency cores, and the newer Maleoon 920 GPU is clocked higher at 840 MHz.

The Kirin 9020 also brings faster LPDDR5X memory, UFS 4.0 storage, and a significant leap in connectivity with the newer Balong 6000 modem, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 5.4. AI tasks continue to be handled by Huawei’s Da Vinci NPU architecture.

On the software front, the Pura 80 series will run the HarmonyOS 5. This latest version of Huawei’s operating system brings substantial advancements, with a core focus on deep AI integration throughout the user experience, leveraging technologies like Huawei’s Pangu large language model. 

HarmonyOS 5 delivers improved system fluency, refined UI aesthetics, more seamless cross-device collaboration, and a mature, independent app ecosystem, built upon the “HarmonyOS NEXT” architecture.

Self-developed Camera Sensor

Recent leaks, largely from tipster Digital Chat Station, point to significant camera advancements in the Huawei Pura 80 series. The Pura 80 Pro is now tipped to feature a brand new 1-inch, 50MP main sensor, potentially a Huawei-developed “SmartSens” (possibly SC5A0CS). 

The Pura 80 Ultra is also expected to boast a 1-inch, 50MP main sensor, with reports suggesting Huawei is experimenting with an RYYB color filter array for it, as well as for its 1/1.31″ periscope telephoto lens. RYYB technology is known for boosting low-light performance by capturing more light. While this can present color accuracy challenges, Huawei has experience mitigating these, as seen in previous models like the Pura 70 Ultra.

Furthermore, the entire Pura 80 series is said to come equipped with variable aperture on the main sensors, offering greater control over light and depth of field.
