Back in March, Xiaomi confirmed that HyperOS 3.1 would first arrive on a long list of devices in China, including the Xiaomi 17 series, Xiaomi 15 lineup, Redmi K-series phones, and several tablets. At the same time, global builds had also been spotted on its servers, suggesting an international rollout would follow soon after.

Now, according to the latest information, HyperOS 3.1 firmware is available for dozens of devices sold outside China. The update spans flagship Xiaomi phones, Redmi mid-range models, and Poco-branded devices, with firmware packages carrying global, European, and Russian region identifiers.

While Xiaomi has already begun its Android 17 Developer Preview program for a few devices, over a dozen devices are still waiting for the HyperOS 3.1 upgrade. This mainly includes budget and some mid-range phones, while high-end eligible devices have already received the update.

According to XimiTime, these devices have not received the HyperOS 3.1 update:

Redmi Note 15 Pro 4G

Redmi Note 14 4G

Redmi Note 14 Pro 5G

Redmi 14C

Redmi 13

Redmi 13X

Redmi A4

Redmi A3 Pro

Redmi Pad 2

Redmi Pad 2 Pro 5G

Redmi Pad SE 4G

Poco M7 4G

Poco M6

Poco C85 4G

Poco C75

Poco C75 5G

Poco Pad M1

The delay in software rollouts can be due to multiple reasons, including but not limited to critical bugs in the internal testing, hardware optimization requirements, delay in regional firmware certifications, and chipset limitations.

Even though many Xiaomi devices have yet to receive the HyperOS 3.1 update, the rollout hasn’t been slow, to say the least, given that it only began in April. According to XimiTime, Xiaomi has already pushed the update to 85% of eligible devices.

HyperOS 3.1 is more than just an incremental upgrade as it bundles many new features, visual upgrades, better connectivity with Apple devices, and plenty of enhancements. The update introduces Hyper Island to Xiaomi tablets for the first time, while smartphones receive a few upgrades to this feature, bringing in richer animations, deeper third-party integration, and a more intuitive real-time activity tracking.

The latest software features an iOS-inspired recent apps page with vertical scrolling and modern card swiping gestures. It also adds native AirPods integration, enabling features like quick pop-up pairing, ANC toggle controls, and access to spatial audio. The lock screen is now more customizable with advanced depth effects and more widget configurations. There’s also a new Super OTA feature for faster update installation with minimal reboot time and fewer errors.

HyperOS 3.1 itself feels like a big upgrade, but we’ll soon have an even bigger release with HyperOS 4, which will be based on Android 17. The Android 17 beta is already available for Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Ultra, and Xiaomi 15T Pro, with more devices likely to follow soon. HyperOS 4 is expected to be a pretty solid upgrade, offering many new features, major improvements, and AI goodies.

Xiaomi started rolling out the global HyperOS 3.1 update last month, with the Xiaomi 17 series getting the first bite, and has since been expanding it to more eligible smartphones and tablets. The new software will continue to expand to more devices over the coming weeks, but it’s a difficult task to keep track of HyperOS rollouts.

To make things simpler, we’ve included a list of devices that are receiving the HyperOS 3.1 update globally. Review the list below to see if Xiaomi has begun the update rollout for your device.

These Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO devices have received HyperOS 3.1 global update

Xiaomi 17

Xiaomi 17 Ultra

Xiaomi 15T Pro

Xiaomi Pad 7

Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro

Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra

Xiaomi Pad 7S Pro

Redmi Pad Pro

POCO F7 Pro

POCO Pad

Currently, the list is short as the global rollout went live only recently. However, it will grow as more devices receive the update. We’ll update the list periodically to keep it current. You can bookmark this page to visit again.

If you own a device that’s on the list above, go to Settings > About phone and tap the HyperOS logo to check for an available update. Note that the update follows a staged rollout, so it may take some time to reach your device.

The HyperOS 3.1 skin, based on Android 16, introduces HyperIsland to tablets for the first time. Smartphones receive an upgraded HyperIsland, featuring richer animations, deeper third-party integration, and more intuitive real-time activity tracking.

The recent apps page also received visual upgrades, now featuring an iOS-inspired look with smoother gesture navigation, fluid card swiping, and better visual management. HyperOS 3.1 also focuses on improving cross-platform connectivity with Apple devices by adding native support for Apple AirPods. This enables features like quick pop-up pairing and access to spatial audio on compatible earbuds.

The update also introduces the Super OTA feature that applies system updates faster with minimal reboot time and fewer errors. Additionally, it offers expanded lock-screen customizations and more interactive elements in HyperIsland. Besides new features and visual upgrades, HyperOS 3.1 includes a wealth of under-the-hood optimizations to deliver a snappier, more stable software experience.

The initial Mi Pilot rollout of HyperOS 3.1 is currently restricted to the latest flagship smartphones, as reported by Xiaomi Time. Here’s the list of those devices and the firmware versions:

Xiaomi 17 Ultra (EEA): OS3.0.301.3.WPAEUXM

Xiaomi 17 (Global): OS3.0.300.7.WPCMIXM

The list is too short for now, as the global beta rollout has just gone live. However, it will keep getting bigger as Xiaomi pushes the beta to more devices over the coming days and weeks.

If your device is on the list and you belong to a beta-supported region, sign up to become a beta tester to get early access to the latest features and upgrades. We’ve included all the steps towards the end of the article.

Unlike HyperOS 3.0, there’s no Android 15 version of HyperOS 3.1. That means it’ll only reach Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO devices that are already running Android 16. You can check the complete list of eligible devices and new features here.

How to sign up to become a HyperOS Mi Pilot tester?

Keep in mind that beta builds are prone to having bugs and unfinished features. Hence, it’s best to back up your important data before installing a beta build. The best route is to install them on a secondary device.

Step 1: Download the Mi Community app and create an account.

Step 2: Make sure the region is set to “Global”. To change the current region, tap ME in the bottom-right corner and go to Set up > Change region.

Step 3: Select the beta program available for your device and click the Apply button.

Step 4: Tap the Answer button and submit your responses. Aim for at least 60 points for greater chances of being selected for the beta program.

Step 5: Click Apply and then Apply again to submit your application.

Step 6: Wait for the approval (it may take up to seven days). Go to the Mi Community app > ME > Beta testing to check the status.

Step 7: Once your application is approved, go to Settings > About phone and tap the HyperOS version to check for updates.

Xiaomi has been testing HyperOS 3.1 for quite some time now across a range of its devices. That testing phase has finally come to an end, as the company has just announced the rollout schedule, and the update starts rolling out today.

Xiaomi HyperOS 3.1 rollout timeline

This rollout plan applies to Xiaomi devices sold in China.
While HyperOS 3.1 isn’t a major upgrade, it still brings meaningful changes and quality-of-life improvements. It addresses one of Android’s longstanding update pain points, which is long, intrusive update installs, by introducing Super OTA. This is a next-gen update mechanism that applies system updates faster and more smoothly, with minimal reboot time.

The latest software also refines core UI elements with smoother animations, refreshed system apps like Gallery and Weather, expanded lock screen customizations, and a more interactive HyperIsland. It also improves cross-platform integration with native Apple AirPods support, enabling quick pop-up pairing and access to spatial audio on compatible earbuds.

HyperOS 3.1 reorganizes the accessibility options for easier access, and select modes now feature quick gesture controls. It also includes numerous improvements under the hood, resulting in better memory management, smoother app launches, and reduced frame stuttering.

Xiaomi has announced that it has completed the official testing phase for the highly anticipated HyperOS 3.1 stable update, bringing a major Android 16-based software refresh closer to a public rollout. So here’s everything you need to know.

Xiaomi HyperOS 3.1 Update is Ready

According to a XiaomiTime report, the OS3.0.301.0 builds, which are the final stable build of HyperOS 3.1, have reached release-ready status. So we can expect the official rollout to kick off soon. This news arrives after weeks of beta testing and marks a key step forward for Xiaomi. Up until recently, the Chinese tech giant was busy rolling out the HyperOS 3 update for more devices, and now we are getting its next evolution.

Xiaomi HyperOS 3.1

What HyperOS 3.1 Promises

Although Xiaomi hasn’t published a full changelog alongside the stable readiness announcement, the broader HyperOS 3.1 update is known to be based on Android 16 and brings a blend of UI enhancements, smarter system behaviour, ecosystem connectivity improvements, and optimisations over the base HyperOS 3 release.

Based on our earlier report, HyperOS 3.1 is expected to bring a bunch of features that include:

Smarter UI elements and refined animations for smoother overall navigation.

Cross-device ecosystem upgrades, making interaction between Xiaomi devices and other platforms more seamless.

Polished system stability and performance improvements compared to earlier builds.

Brand-new models like the Xiaomi 17 series and the Redmi K90 lineup are expected to be among the first wave of devices to receive this update. The official rollout schedule should be revealed soon, so stick around for more. In the meantime, you can click here to check out every new feature, changes, and the full eligible device list.

HyperOS 3, based on Android 16, has been rolling out to Xiaomi devices for a few months now. But there’s a version of HyperOS 3 based on Android 15, which will be released for select devices that aren’t eligible for Android 16. This started rolling out in China in December 2025, and now the global rollout has begun, starting with the Xiaomi 12T Pro. The Xiaomi 15 Pro, on the other hand, is receiving a new HyperOS 3.1 beta update.

Android 15-based HyperOS 3 now rolling out globally

It’s good to see Xiaomi pushing the Android 15-based HyperOS 3 update outside China. This will allow more Xiaomi users to access the latest features without upgrading to a newer model. For the Xiaomi 12T Pro, as spotted by Xiaomi Time, the HyperOS 3 update arrives with the firmware version 3.0.1.0.VLFMIXM.

It’s a major upgrade, and therefore, the download size would be a few gigabytes. It’s best to use a stable Wi-Fi connection for the purpose, and charge your battery to at least 40% for a smooth upgrade to HyperOS 3. To check for the latest update, go to Settings > My device and tap the HyperOS logo at the top.

Xiaomi 15 Pro is receiving a new HyperOS 3.1 beta update

If you’re running a HyperOS 3.1 build on your Xiaomi 15 Pro, a new beta update should be waiting for installation. The latest one, tagged with the firmware version 3.0.300.7.WOBCNXM focuses on resolving performance issues to improve the user experience. Don’t expect to see new features or major changes with the latest beta build.

The HyperOS 3.1 beta program is currently limited to China, so the latest beta build for the Xiaomi 15 Pro is also restricted to that region. We’ll let you know when the beta program expands to other regions in our Xiaomi section.

Xiaomi could be preparing a major announcement for Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2026 this March in Barcelona, not just around new hardware like the Xiaomi 17 series, but also a significant software upgrade. The company is expected to unveil the new HyperOS 3.1 update along with a new feature for improved cross-platform connectivity with Apple devices, thanks to a new “iOS Bridge” feature.

What is “iOS Bridge” in HyperOS 3.1?

Reports suggest that HyperOS 3.1 won’t be a minor patch. Instead, it’s shaping up as a cross-platform bridge that lets Xiaomi users interact more seamlessly with iOS devices. Key components tipped for iOS Bridge include:

iPhone Call Notifications: Incoming calls on an iPhone could show up on connected Xiaomi tablets or PCs, letting users answer or manage calls even when their phone is not nearby.

AirPods Support: Full compatibility with Apple’s AirPods, including battery levels, controls and spatial audio indicators directly on Xiaomi devices, much like native support seen on Apple hardware.

Easy File Transfer: A feature similar to AirDrop, enabling fast, lossless file sharing between iPhones and Xiaomi phones or tablets without needing third-party apps.

Xiaomi HyperOS 3.1

This set of features could closely mimic Apple-style cross-device integration, which is something that Android manufacturers traditionally haven’t matched natively and help position Xiaomi’s ecosystem as more friend-friendly for users who juggle multiple platforms.

Why MWC 2026 is the Right Stage

The MWC 2026 event is set to kick off at the start of next month as one of the biggest events on the tech calendar. Xiaomi is already expected to use the stage for global announcements, bringing in its latest flagship Xiaomi 17 series to the international stage. The latest HyperOS 3.1 could share this spotlight with various software upgrades, which makes sense considering how premium models typically bring the latest software iterations.

Xiaomi’s HyperOS 3 was one of the company’s biggest software updates to date, introducing a refreshed UI, deeper AI integration, and revamped system features across phones, tablets, and beyond. Now, with HyperOS 3.1 rolling out in phases, Xiaomi is refining that experience with enhanced usability, performance improvements, and smarter integration both within its own ecosystem and with third-party devices. But what exactly has changed, and which devices will get the new version? Here’s a clear comparison between the HyperOS 3.1 and HyperOS 3 and the full list of eligible Xiaomi devices.

What HyperOS 3 Originally Brought

The Chinese tech giant’s HyperOS 3 custom skin was based on the Android 16 OS. It introduced the Apple Dynamic Island inspired HyperIsland, which is an interactive notification, live activity interface that makes it easier to glance at music, calls, charging status, and more without leaving your current screen. The update also focused heavily on AI-powered tools, from writing tools to transcription.

All of this was wrapped in a cleaner user experience, smoother animations, and improved multitasking support. Devices with HyperOS 3 saw smoother performance, deeper cross-device connectivity, and an overall more refined Android experience compared to prior versions of MIUI and earlier HyperOS builds. The rollout has been staggered across models, with 95% of eligible devices having received this update already.

What’s New in HyperOS 3.1

HyperOS 3.1 isn’t a total overhaul, but it brings several meaningful refinements and quality-of-life improvements. This includes features like:

Super OTA – One of the biggest highlights is Super OTA, which is a next-gen update mechanism that applies system updates faster and more smoothly with minimal reboot time and fewer errors. This addresses one of Android’s longstanding update pain points, which is the long, intrusive update installs.

Smarter UI and Refinements – HyperOS 3.1 improves on core UI elements with smoother animations, refreshed system apps (like Gallery and Weather), expanded lock screen customisation, and more interactive elements in HyperIsland for a more polished experience.

Better Ecosystem & Third-Party Support – HyperOS 3.1 improves cross platform features too by adding native Apple AirPods support, enabling quick pop-up pairing and access to spatial audio on compatible earbuds. It also improves interoperability with other devices, making Xiaomi’s ecosystem more flexible.

Accessibility & Quick Gestures – New accessibility options have been reorganised for easier access, and select models gain quick gesture controls that make navigation and shortcuts more accessible.

Performance & Stability Updates – Under the hood, memory management improvements, smoother app launches, reduced frame stutters, and UI polish make day-to-day use feel more responsive compared to HyperOS 3.

All Devices Eligible for HyperOS 3.1

Xiaomi 15 Ultra

Xiaomi’s latest HyperOS 3.1 update isn’t just about new UI tweaks and ecosystem features. One of the biggest changes is the way system updates are downloaded and installed on devices. With this release, Xiaomi is introducing a new update architecture called SOTA (Super-OTA), designed to make the update process much smoother, faster and less disruptive for users.

What is SOTA and Why it Matters?

Traditionally, installing a system update on a smartphone or tablet involves downloading a patch, which then needs to be installed by rebooting your device so that the software can be applied. This can interrupt whatever you’re doing, whether you’re gaming, working, or using an application. Depending on how large an update is, this can lead to long waiting times while the device restarts and configures the new software build.

HyperOS 3.1

With HyperOS 3.1’s SOTA update structure, Xiaomi changes this behavior significantly. Instead of delivering large, fragmented patches that need separate restarts, the OS bundles system software and core app updates into a single unified package that can download and install in the background without forcing an immediate reboot. The only time your Xiaomi device needs to reboot is when there is a core component change. Even the, the process is much less disruptive.

Every Way SOTA Improves the User Experience

Install quietly in the background, so you can keep using your device uninterrupted.

Reduce the frequency of reboots, especially for minor fixes and app-module patches.

Deliver faster bug fixes, since smaller packages can be rolled out and applied more efficiently without waiting for a big OS update cycle.

Update builds that use SOTA will typically include labels like C05 or C06 in their build number, indicating that both system and app modules have been included in a combined patch that avoids rebooting unless absolutely necessary.

It is more interactive and informative than before, bringing support for Live Updates from third party apps such as music, reminders, and timers. This makes the pill shaped widget a real dynamic hub that is more intuitive than static notification bubbles.

Redesigned System Animations & App Interfaces

The update rewrites core system apps such as Gallery and Weather with new animations for smoother interactions. Xiaomi has also introduced iOS-like motion and transition animations, paired with redesigned system elements like the recent apps view and animation curves to make the UI feel more polished and fluid.

Lock Screen & Depth Effects

HyperOS has always been a highly customizable Android skin, and the HyperOS 3.1 update builds on this further. The Chinese tech giant is expanding lock screen customization, allowing users to apply depth effects that let subjects verlap the clock, edit wallpapers on the lock screen, and more.

Native AirPods Support

Xiaomi is improving the cross platform integration with Apple’s ecosystem, adding native support for Apple AirPods on HyperOS 3.1. So now, supported Xiaomi branded devivicse will get a pop up for pairing Apple’s TWS earbuds along with access to spatial audio, which was initially exclusive to Apple products.

iPhone Call Interoperability

Another ecosystem highlight is the ability to answer phone calls on your Xiaomi phones directly from an iPhone when devices are linked.

New Accessibility Options

Accessibility settings have also been enhanced with a new primary menu dubbed Assistant. This offers more convenient access to accessibiliy features like Active Visual Perception.

Quick Gestures

On certain devices like the Redmi K90 Pro Max, HyperOS 3.1 unlocks quick gesture controls for navigation and shortcuts.

Performance & System Improvements

Xiaomi has also made a bunch of enhancements to the performance and stability with HyperOS 3.1:

A redesigned recent apps menu

Improved memory management and multitasking

Smoother animations and reduced frame stutter

Enhanced power and resource optimization

Faster app launch speeds

Motion Sickness Reduction

With the new Super Island, Xiaomi has also refined visual cues and added a Motion Sickness reduction feature to help minimize visual discomfort during scrolling and other fast visuals.

While the HyperOS 3 rollout is still in progress, Xiaomi has already begun recruiting users for HyperOS 3.1. The beta rollout started just last week, and now we have a new set of Xiaomi devices ready for early access to HyperOS 3.1.

The Android 16-based beta update is now available for Redmi K80 Pro and Xiaomi 14 Ultra, as spotted by folks at Xiaomi Time. These two devices are part of the second batch of the HyperOS 3.1 beta rollout, which also includes Xiaomi 15 models, the Xiaomi Pad 7 Ultra, and more.

Please note that the HyperOS 3.1 beta is currently available only in China. However, Xiaomi is already testing the global build on several devices, meaning the update will likely be released for global users as well.

If you have a Xiaomi device that’s receiving the HyperOS 3.1 beta update and that you’re in a supported region, you can sign up for the beta program to get early access to the latest build. We have a detailed guide on how to become a HyperOS beta tester.

Below is a list of devices that have already received the HyperOS 3.1 update in China:

REDMI K90: 3.0.300.4.BETA

REDMI K90 Pro Max: 3.0.300.2.BETA

Xiaomi 17: 3.0.300.3.BETA

Xiaomi 17 Pro: 3.0.300.2.BETA

Xiaomi 17 Pro Max: 3.0.300.5.BETA

Xiaomi 17 Ultra: 3.0.300.4.BETA

Xiaomi Pad 8 Pro: 3.0.300.2.BETA

Xiaomi Pad 8: 3.0.300.2.BETA

Note: The version number “3.0.300” refers to the HyperOS 3.1 codebase.

Xiaomi will expand the HyperOS 3.1 beta to more devices over the coming days and weeks. However, the brand hasn’t confirmed if the beta program will also be released for global models.

Xiaomi is progressing toward wrapping up the HyperOS 3 rollout, but the company may already be working on its next iteration, HyperOS 3.1. It will also be based on Android 16, but unfortunately, dozens of smartphones will miss out on this essential upgrade.

According to Xiaomi Time, the HyperOS 3.1 software makes heavy use of NPU capabilities and the new Android 16 architecture for HyperOS features like Live Updates and pre-compilation of apps. All these factors make many Xiaomi smartphones incapable of running HyperOS 3.1. Below is the list of those devices, as shared by Xiaomi Time.

In addition to these devices, those who aren’t eligible for HyperOS 3 will also miss out on the HyperOS 3.1 update.

Now, if your Xiaomi device is on the list, you may be wondering about its future OS eligibility. Well, the device should receive security patches for a while, but it’s unlikely to receive major HyperOS upgrades going forward.

If your Xiaomi device is reaching the end of its life, it’s best to upgrade to a newer model to ensure it has the latest features and fixes for the recently discovered vulnerabilities. Check out the list of Xiaomi devices that promise up to six years of software support to find an upgrade that’s going to be relevant for years to come.
