The Google fact checking tool has just been updated which has made it even more useful. The company’s tool can now fact check images as well, with the functionality currently being live in a global beta.

Google fast checking now applies to images too

Since its conception, the Search Engine giant’s fact checking tool has already helped many. Now, people can even scrutinize a picture found online as well. To use this tool, one simply requires the image itself that they can upload or copy and paste the URL and click on the search image option on the right corner of the search bar. After this, the fact checker tool kicks in, providing key details and references of this image from all across the internet. Notably, this announcement also arrives a couple of days after the brand’s researchers introduced a new language model dubbed the AudioPaLM.

Furthermore, the beta tool can also offer details about topics and locations that are related to the image being searched. This, in turn, help make the process much fast as well. As per official notes, Google’s new tool can find out if an image is being used in the wrong context. In other words, it can find out if someone is manipulating the truth by using an image to spread misinformation.

Apart from this, the Fact Check Explorer will one to trace the origin of the image as well as its original context. As an example, you can find the image listed based on the timeline where Google first indexed it or found a mention of it on the internet. Xiaomi, the Chinese electronics giant, has announced a breakthrough in solid-state battery technology that promises to deliver higher energy density, better low-temperature performance, and enhanced safety. The company claims that its pre-developed solid-state battery technology achieves energy density of over 1000Wh/L, a 20% improvement in low-temperature discharge performance, and a significant increase in the acupuncture experiment passing rate.

The main difference between solid-state batteries and traditional batteries is the electrolyte, which is upgraded to a solid state. Solid electrolytes offer better mechanical strength and stability than liquid electrolytes, which are commonly used in traditional batteries. They also have the potential to solve many of the challenges facing traditional batteries, such as low energy density, poor low-temperature performance, and safety issues.

Solid-state batteries have the potential to revolutionize the battery industry, and Xiaomi’s new technology promises to be a game-changer. The company’s laboratory tests have shown that its solid-state batteries have an energy density of over 1000Wh/L, which is a significant improvement over traditional batteries. This means that more energy can be stored in a smaller space, which is critical for mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets. The company packed a super large 6000mAh battery capacity into the prototype of Xiaomi 13 smartphone, significantly improving battery life.

In addition to the high energy density, Xiaomi’s solid-state batteries also offer improved low-temperature performance. At low temperatures, the viscosity of the electrolyte in traditional batteries rises sharply, hindering the transport capacity of lithium ions and resulting in a rapid decline of 60% lithium conductivity. However, solid-state batteries can maintain sufficient lithium conductivity at low temperatures, which means they can perform better in cold environments. Xiaomi claims that its solid-state batteries have more than 20% higher discharge performance than traditional batteries at -20°C, making them suitable for use even in high latitudes.

Another major benefit of Xiaomi’s solid-state batteries is their improved safety. The use of a solid electrolyte can prevent the penetration of lithium dendrites, which can cause short circuits and other safety issues. Xiaomi’s technical team has also developed a method to improve the resistance to acupuncture of its solid-state batteries. By coating the positive electrode with solid electrolyte ceramics, the battery can better withstand needle puncture and prevent the communication between the positive and negative electrodes, ensuring the safety of use.

Overall, Xiaomi’s new solid-state battery technology represents a significant step forward in the development of next-generation batteries. As a thermos, the device is just compact enough to be portable and at room temperature, it can preserve heat for up to 6 hours above 65℃ and even preserve cold water below 9℃ for up to 6 hours as well. When working as a power bank, the hot water mug can convert thermal energy into electrical energy to charge various electronic products, even supporting wireless charging as well. So, one can essentially use this in various areas where there is no supply of electricity, an example being camping outside.

This is achieved by what is apparently called Aerospace black technology, which uses high-performance thermoelectric conversion technology from the aerospace field. Huawei, the Chinese tech giant, has made a huge leap up the rankings in the list of the Most Innovative Companies over time. The rankings were made by BCG that has surveyed global innovation since 2005 and listed the top 50 companies that they believe deserve these spots.

In this list, Huawei has made a massive jump in recent times, crossing 42 positions to reach the number 6 spot in the list just below Samsung and Microsoft. Back in 2014, the company was at the very bottom and has made its way up since then. Keep in mind it wasn’t a straight line up, as Huawei did see a healthy rise in 2015, but it was quickly followed by a decline to the 48th position. However, from here the popular consumer electronics maker took off, beating the likes of Sony, Facebook, Alibaba, and more.

Furthermore, the rankings also include many known tech based brands as well, including Apple that currently holds the top spot. Google follows close behind in second place followed by Amazon. There can be many possible reasons for this immense rise in innovation for Huawei. The company is a pioneer in 5G networking and has been pushing the adoption of the newer and faster bandwidth in many regions despite pressures from the US. Earlier today (11th June 2020), LG Display announced that it plans on developing stretchable displays by 2023. So, we can expect to see the new technology to soon become a reality within the next few years.

The South Korean tech giant made the announcement after it was tasked to develop the futuristic technology for a national R&D project. This project will be a cooperative effort with over 20 companies, institutions, and universities. The goal for LG Display is to develop a display product that can be stretched by up to 20 percent. The Chinese manufacturer Newman, which is most likely unheard to you, has some interesting news as it has quite interesting device in its portfolio. The company just announced that they will soon launch their new device to the masses. The most interesting thing is that the device has a very innovative design of finger print scanner and the whole device. Also, the Newman device has Alibaba’s YunOS 3.0 pre-installed.

As you can see, the finger print scanner is located right below the camera sensor on the back. We have never seen this done before as the camera sensor is located at the left top corner of the device.

The smartphone comes in two colour options – white and black.

The device has a 5.5 inch Full-HD display with 5mp front and 13mp rear camera, which is accompanied by the dual tone dual LED flash. The front side looks a bit similar to the Xiaomi Mi4.

Another interesting feature, which seems to have made a comeback on this device from the early days of smartphones (or even feature phones) is the rotating wheel “flywheel” on the side of the phone. What it does is basically lets you scroll through the menus with your thumb without the need to touch the screen. It may sound a bit funny, why the manufacturer would put this outdated piece of hardware. However, Apple thinks the same way with their smartwach.

What is more, the finger print scanner is very high quality as it uses the same module as the Huawei Mate 7.

We are not yet informed about the hardware specs of this device yet as this is non-final unit. Pricing and availability is not yet disclosed either. Anyway, we think that these two design aspects are innovative and should attract some of the consumers attention, when the device is released officially to the public.
