Thunderobot just showed off a new 16-inch thin-and-light gaming laptop at the BW2026 trade show, and the main draw is how much weight the company managed to shave off.

The Zero Air 16 Little Dragon Racing Edition is a collaboration with the Zero Mileage ZM Drift Team. But beyond the motorsport branding, the actual hardware design is what stands out: it uses carbon fiber for most of its chassis to keep the weight down to just 1.64kg.

For a 16-inch gaming laptop, 1.64kg is unusually light. Thunderobot used high-strength carbon fiber on the lid, the keyboard deck, and the bottom panel to achieve this, finishing the exterior with a soft-touch coating rather than standard bare metal or plastic. Even when you factor in the included 210W power brick, the total travel weight sits at a very manageable 2kg.

Inside, the specifications are what you would expect from a mid-to-high-end 2026 gaming machine. It can be configured with up to an Intel Core Ultra 7 356H processor and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 laptop GPU. Thunderobot claims the system is tuned to handle up to 160W of total performance output.

The display is a 2.5K panel with a 240Hz refresh rate, which the company refers to as a Hummingbird Eye-Care Screen. Marketing names aside, those are practical specs that pair well with the target frame rates of an RTX 5070. The screen also includes an ACR anti-glare coating to help minimize reflections in bright rooms.

For connectivity, the laptop includes a Thunderbolt 4 USB-C port, HDMI 2.1, a Mini DisplayPort, and a dedicated RJ45 Ethernet jack. There are other standard I/O ports that haven’t been fully detailed yet, and Thunderobot has also held back on announcing the battery capacity.

If you aren’t interested in the drift team branding, Thunderobot previously teased a standard version of the Zero Air 16 earlier this month. Both the standard and Racing Edition models are expected to launch officially in August.

Lenovo has released the 2026 model of the Legion R9000X in China. The 15.3-inch laptop is priced at 20,999 yuan (about $3,098) and relies entirely on AMD‘s latest mobile silicon for both processing and graphics, omitting a dedicated graphics card to maintain a thinner profile.

The laptop is powered by the AMD Ryzen AI Max+ 392 processor. Built on a 4nm process using the Zen 5 architecture, the chip has 12 cores and 24 threads with a maximum boost clock of 5GHz.

For graphics, it uses the integrated Radeon 8060S GPU. This integrated graphics unit is based on the RDNA 3.5 architecture and includes 40 Compute Units (CUs). Lenovo says that this configuration provides graphics performance similar to a discrete GPU, which is the primary reason the laptop can remain relatively thin for a gaming-focused machine.

The R9000X weighs 1.55kg (3.4 pounds) and is 15.5mm thick. To manage heat, Lenovo is using its second-generation QianKun cooling system. In its highest performance setting, the system is rated for a 120W total power output.

The screen is a 15.3-inch OLED panel with a 2560 x 1600 resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate. It carries VESA DisplayHDR True Black 1000 certification and covers 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut. The display is factory-calibrated by X-Rite with a stated Delta E value below 1, and it has a 0.3ms response time.

Inside, the laptop comes with 64GB of LPDDR5X-8000 RAM and a 1TB PCIe 4.0 SSD. If you need more storage, you can use the secondary M.2 slot to add another drive.

Port selection includes two 40Gbps USB4 ports, one 10Gbps USB-C port, two 10Gbps USB-A ports, an HDMI connection, an SD 4.0 card reader, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The USB-C ports support DisplayPort 2.1, which allows for 8K output at 60Hz or 4K at 240Hz.

Chuwi has opened pre-orders for the UniBook, a 14-inch budget laptop that stands out primarily for being one of the first devices to use Intel’s new Wildcat Lake architecture. It’s currently priced at $449 during the pre-order window, though Chuwi says the standard retail price will eventually sit at $619.

The laptop runs on the Intel Core 3 304, a Series 3 processor built on Intel’s 18A process. It’s a relatively basic chip with five cores, five threads, and a 15W TDP. It does include a dedicated NPU capable of 15 TOPS, plus integrated Intel Graphics that adds another 9 TOPS. That combined total isn’t enough to meet Microsoft’s 40 TOPS requirement for Copilot Plus PCs, so you won’t be running intensive AI models locally.

To hit the low price point, Chuwi made some clear compromises with memory and storage. The UniBook ships with 8GB of LPDDR5-6400 RAM and a 256GB PCIe 3.0 SSD. In 2026, 8GB is pretty limiting for a Windows 11 laptop, especially if you keep lots of browser tabs or apps open at once, and since the memory is soldered, there’s no way to upgrade it later. Storage is a bit less of a concern, though, because the internal M.2 slot can be swapped out for a faster PCIe 4.0 SSD down the line.

The display is a standard 14-inch 1920 x 1200 IPS panel. It features a 16:10 aspect ratio, which gives you a bit more vertical space for reading documents and websites, and it covers 100% of the sRGB color gamut. It peaks at 300 nits of brightness with a standard 60Hz refresh rate. The components are housed in an aluminum chassis that weighs 1.2 kg (about 2.6 lbs) and measures 16.4 mm thick.

For connectivity, Chuwi provides a practical selection of ports. The laptop includes two full-featured USB-C ports that support 65W Power Delivery charging and 4K display output, two USB-A 3.2 Gen 1 ports, one USB-A 2.0 port, an HDMI 1.4b output, a Gigabit Ethernet port, a microSD card slot, and a 3.5mm audio jack. HP has teamed up with Ferrari to release a heavily stylized, limited-edition laptop, and it comes with a price tag that matches the automotive branding. The HP Limited Edition Scuderia Ferrari AI PC is set to launch on June 12th for a hefty $5,599.

In a nod to the glass engine covers found on modern supercars, HP has outfitted the bottom of the laptop with a mix of carbon fiber and Corning Gorilla Glass, intentionally leaving the cooling system visible. The thermal design itself features over 2,000 micro-perforations in the glass and a 3D louvered vent system to manage airflow. Up top, the palm rest is entirely glass, integrating a haptic touchpad with a boundary that illuminates when you touch it.

Under the hood, the specs align with the current AI PC trend. It’s powered by an Intel Core Ultra X7 358H processor paired with Intel Arc B390 graphics. HP says this combination delivers up to 180 TOPS for local AI workloads and demanding applications. You’ll be looking at a 3K Tandem OLED+ touch display, which should offer excellent brightness and contrast, alongside a per-key RGB backlit keyboard.

HP is leaning into the exclusivity factor. Only 4,999 units are being produced, each individually numbered and serialized. The laptop ships in custom packaging designed to physically lift the device as you open the box, and it includes a leather sleeve made by Poltrona Frau, the same company that supplies the leather for Ferrari interiors. On the software side, it comes equipped with HP Wolf Security for Business for hardware-level protection.

Asus just announced the 2026 version of its TUF Gaming 16 laptop. It is a straightforward update that brings current-generation Intel and Nvidia hardware to the lineup, along with a few practical design tweaks focused on cable management and reducing fan noise. Pricing and availability details remain unknown at the moment.

Inside, the laptop can be configured with up to an Intel Core i7-14650HX processor, which features eight performance cores, eight efficiency cores, and a peak clock speed of 5.2GHz. This isn’t the highest power limit available for a mobile 5070, which shows Asus is leaning toward power efficiency and temperature control rather than pushing for absolute maximum frame rates. It does, however, support Nvidia’s DLSS 4 upscaling to help with performance in heavier games.

The cooling system utilizes dual 80-blade fans and three heat pipes and will keep fan noise at or below 40dB when running under full load in Turbo Mode. For a gaming laptop, 40dB is relatively quiet and should prevent the machine from sounding overwhelmingly loud during heavy use. The cooling system also includes integrated dust filters and routes air over the motherboard to cool surface-mounted components.

On the outside, the laptop has a basic all-black finish. Asus added an anti-fingerprint coating to the keyboard deck to help keep it clean, and the screen hinge can open flat to 180 degrees. As usual for the TUF series, it carries a MIL-STD-810H durability rating for basic drop and vibration resistance.

Coming to the connectivity, Asus has moved the bulky connections, specifically the power jack, HDMI, and Ethernet ports, to the back of the laptop. The sides house three USB-A ports and one USB-C port, which support DisplayPort 2.1 and USB power delivery.

As for memory and storage, both are fully upgradeable. You can configure the laptop with up to 64GB of DDR5 RAM and a 2TB SSD right out of the box, but you also have the option to open the chassis and swap out the dual RAM and SSD sticks yourself down the road.

Computex 2026 is officially underway in Taipei, and the push for AI-capable hardware is taking a significant step forward. Asus has announced its latest generation of ProArt creator PCs, and the big story isn’t just the sleek new chassis designs; it’s the silicon inside. The new ProArt P16 and ProArt P14 are among the first Windows machines to run on Nvidia’s new RTX Spark superchip.

If you’ve been following the AI PC trend, you know the bottleneck for running heavy AI models locally has largely been memory and compute power. Nvidia’s RTX Spark seems designed to brute-force past that. The chip combines a 20-core Nvidia Grace CPU with a Blackwell-architecture RTX GPU (featuring 6,144 CUDA cores and FP4 Tensor Cores). These are linked together using Nvidia’s NVLink-C2C interconnect, allowing the system to support up to 128GB of unified memory.

That unified memory architecture is a big deal for Windows PCs. It allows the system to dedicate massive amounts of RAM to the GPU, which is exactly what you need to run large language models (LLMs) locally without relying on the cloud. Asus claims these machines can handle 120-billion-parameter LLMs with up to a 1 million token context window. For creative professionals, the company says the hardware can chew through 12K video editing, render 90GB 3D scenes, and generate 4K AI video on the device.

Software makers are apparently taking note of the new architecture. Adobe is reportedly rewriting Photoshop and Premiere Pro from the ground up specifically for RTX Spark, which Asus says will yield twice the performance for AI and graphics tasks.

As for the laptops themselves, Asus has refined the chassis. The 16-inch ProArt P16 and 14-inch ProArt P14 are CNC-milled and available in standard black or a new Neo White finish. They are slightly more portable this year, with the P16 coming in 13% thinner and 16% lighter than the previous generation.

Both models use Asus’ Lumina Pro OLED panels, which feature an anti-reflective coating and can reach a peak brightness of 1,600 nits. For the past two weeks, I have been using the new Asus Zenbook S14 (UX5406AA) as my primary work machine. This model comes equipped with Intel’s Panther Lake Core Ultra 9 386H processor, an OLED display, and a chassis made from a material Asus calls Ceraluminum. I received the Antrim Gray variant for this review, which retails in India for Rs. 249,990.

After spending a significant amount of time working, running benchmarks, and trying to play a few games on it, my takeaway is fairly straightforward. This is a very capable and well-built laptop for professionals who prioritize battery life and portability. However, its reliance on integrated graphics means it won’t be the right fit for everyone, especially at this price point. Here is a detailed breakdown of my experience.

Design and Build Quality

When a new laptop arrives, the first thing I check is whether the lid can be opened with one hand. It is a minor detail, but it shows how well the manufacturer balanced the weight and hinge tension. The Zenbook S14 passes this test easily; the lid opens smoothly without lifting the base off the desk.

The chassis feels different from the standard aluminum laptops on the market. Asus uses Ceraluminum, which is essentially aluminum that has undergone a ceramization process. The result is a laptop that feels sturdy but has a matte, slightly textured finish. I received the Antrim Gray version for this review, and the texture does a good job of resisting fingerprints, which helps keep the laptop looking clean throughout the workday.

At 1.19 to 1.29 cm thick and weighing 1.20 kg, the Zenbook S14 is very easy to carry. It fits comfortably into a backpack without adding much weight. Despite being so light, the build feels rigid.

There is no noticeable flex in the keyboard deck, and it carries a MIL-STD 810H military-grade certification for durability. Above the keyboard, there is a geometric CNC-machined grille. While it looks like a speaker setup, it is actually a thermal venting system designed to help with cooling.

Display & Audio

For a laptop in this price range, the display needs to perform well, and the 14-inch 3K (2880 x 1800) Asus Lumina OLED panel delivers. It has a 16:10 aspect ratio, a 120Hz refresh rate, 500-nit SDR brightness, and a peak HDR brightness of 1100 nits.

During my testing, whether I was looking at spreadsheets, editing photos, or watching videos, the OLED panel provided deep blacks and accurate colors that cover 100% of the DCI-P3 gamut. The 120Hz refresh rate makes scrolling and navigating Windows 11 feel smooth. The touchscreen is also a helpful addition for quickly tapping through menus or zooming in on images.

The main drawback here is the glossy finish on the screen. If you are working in a brightly lit office or sitting next to a window, reflections can be noticeable. You can increase the screen brightness to compensate, but a more effective anti-reflective coating would have been a nice inclusion. The display hinge is also fairly flexible, allowing the screen to recline to roughly 120 to 130 degrees. It doesn’t offer a full 180-degree lay-flat design, but the available range should be sufficient for most everyday use cases.

For audio, the laptop has a four-speaker system tuned by Harman Kardon, with Dolby Atmos support. The sound quality is good for a laptop of this size. The mids are clear, which makes human voices in videos and online meetings easy to hear. However, if you turn the volume all the way up, the bass starts to sound a bit thin. It is fine for casual listening, but you will still want headphones for a better audio experience.

Ports & Connectivity

The common issue with thin laptops is the lack of ports, but Asus has provided a practical selection here.

On the left side, there is a full-sized HDMI 2.1 port, two Thunderbolt 4 Type-C ports (both support charging and display output), and a 3.5mm audio jack. On the right side, there is a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A port. Having a standard USB-A port and an HDMI port means you can connect older flash drives or external monitors without needing to carry a dongle.

The only omission that stings is the lack of an SD or microSD card slot. If you are a photographer or videographer, you will still need to carry an adapter. For wireless connectivity, the laptop is fully future-proofed with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6.0, ensuring rock-solid connections on modern networks.

Keyboard, Trackpad & Biometrics

The keyboard on the Zenbook S14 is comfortable for long typing sessions. It is a backlit chiclet keyboard with 1.1mm of key travel, which is a decent amount of depth for a thin laptop. The keys have a slight 0.1mm indentation that helps guide your fingers. I got used to the layout quickly and had no issues maintaining my normal typing speed.

The trackpad is large, measuring 127 x 79mm, and has a smooth, anti-fingerprint coating. Tracking and swiping feel accurate. However, it uses a traditional mechanical click rather than a haptic feedback system. While it works fine, the physical click doesn’t feel quite as refined as the haptic trackpads found on some competing laptops in this price range.

For security, the laptop relies entirely on Windows Hello IR facial recognition because there is no fingerprint sensor. The face unlock works reliably in most lighting conditions, but I generally prefer having a fingerprint reader as a backup option.

The 1080p webcam is adequate for standard video calls, but the image quality can look a bit soft and noisy. Given the price of the laptop, I expected a slightly better camera sensor. CPU & AI Performance

My review unit came with the Intel Core Ultra 9 386H processor. This chip has 16 cores (4 Performance, 8 Efficiency, 4 Low-Power Efficiency) and is paired with 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM and a 1TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD.

In daily use, the laptop handles standard tasks easily. Whether I was working with multiple Chrome tabs, editing documents, or doing some light photo editing, the system remained responsive. The single-core Geekbench score of 2,801 reflects this snappy day-to-day performance, and the multi-core score of 16,525 shows it can handle moderate multitasking without slowing down. The boot times are minimal, and transferring large files takes very little time.

As a Copilot+ PC, it includes an NPU rated for up to 50 TOPS. This allows local AI features, like Live Captions and Windows Studio Effects (which handles background blur and auto-framing on video calls), to run directly on the device rather than relying on cloud processing. It also includes a dedicated Copilot key, allowing quick access to the AI assistant with a single click.

GPU Performance

While the CPU performance is strong, the graphics performance is where the Zenbook S14 shows its limitations. Because this laptop uses the Core Ultra 9 386H, it relies on Intel’s integrated Xe3 graphics rather than a dedicated GPU.

In synthetic graphics tests, the scores reflect this. In 3DMark Time Spy, it scored 2,760 overall. The Night Raid test, which is designed for integrated graphics, yielded a score of 22,922. In the Steel Nomad Light test, it hovered around 1,935 to 2,051 points, outputting roughly 14 to 15 frames per second.

I tested a few games to see how this translates to real-world use. If you play lighter, optimized esports titles like Valorant, the laptop performs well. I was getting between 153 and 200 FPS, making it highly playable.

However, when you move to more demanding games, the integrated graphics struggle. In PUBG, running on DirectX 11, the frame rate hovered around 30 FPS with the GPU usage maxed out at 98%. It is playable if you don’t mind lower frame rates, but you will need to turn the settings and resolution down for a smoother experience. Genshin Impact showed varying results depending on the environment; it hit 60 FPS on low settings but dropped to around 32 FPS on high settings in more complex scenes.

Ultimately, this is not a laptop for serious gamers or professionals who need heavy GPU acceleration for 3D rendering or complex video editing. It can handle basic online multiplayer games, but it has a clear ceiling.

Thermal and Fan Performance

Managing heat in a 1.1 cm thick chassis is difficult, but the cooling system here works reasonably well. It uses a vapor chamber, dual fans, and the venting grille above the keyboard.

Using the MyAsus app, you can choose between Whisper, Standard, and Performance fan profiles. I left it on Standard for most of my testing, and the laptop stayed quiet during regular work.

The fans only become noticeable (44dB) when running benchmarks or games. Under heavy load, the bottom of the chassis and the area near the exhaust vents do get warm, but the keyboard and palm rests stay cool enough to type comfortably.

Battery Life

Battery life is one of the strongest aspects of the Zenbook S14. While I kept the power cable plugged in during benchmark testing to ensure maximum performance, I used it purely on battery power for my regular daily work.

The laptop is equipped with a 77Wh battery, which is a generous capacity for a 14-inch thin-and-light device. With moderate usage, which for me includes web browsing, writing documents, checking emails, and watching YouTube videos at medium brightness, the laptop consistently lasted around 14 to 16 hours.

This level of endurance means you can comfortably take the laptop on a business trip or to a coffee shop without needing to bring the charger along. It easily gets through a full workday with power to spare. When you do need to recharge, the included 68W USB-C adapter works fine, though the brick itself is a bit traditional in its design and slightly bulky compared to the sleekness of the laptop.

It is also worth mentioning that the S14 actually supports up to 100W fast charging via its USB-C ports. However, to take advantage of those faster top-up speeds, you will need to purchase and carry your own 100W adapter, as Asus only includes the standard 68W charger in the box.

Final Verdict

After two weeks of testing, the Asus Zenbook S14 (UX5406AA) proves to be a well-executed ultrabook that knows its target audience.

The Ceraluminum build is practical and looks professional, the OLED display is vibrant and sharp, and the keyboard is comfortable for long typing sessions. Most importantly, the combination of the Intel Core Ultra 9 processor and the 77Wh battery provides a great balance of snappy office performance and genuine all-day battery life.

However, the current pricing in India is quite steep. At Rs. 2,49,990, you are paying a premium for the thin-and-light form factor and the new materials. For that price, the average webcam, the lack of a fingerprint sensor, and the slightly hollow feel of the trackpad click are noticeable drawbacks. Furthermore, the integrated Xe3 graphics mean this laptop is strictly for productivity and media consumption, not for gaming or heavy graphical workloads.

If you are a professional whose daily routine involves documents, web-based applications, and frequent travel, the Zenbook S14 is a reliable, long-lasting companion. But if your work or hobbies require strong GPU performance, you will need to look at other options in this price range.

The body uses carbon fiber with the usual matte black finish, so visually it still looks very much like a traditional ThinkPad.

Internally, both laptops support PCIe 4.0 SSDs and include dual M.2 slots for storage expansion. Battery capacity sits at 64Wh, with Lenovo claiming around 13 hours of usage depending on workload and configuration.

The E14 remains fairly portable as well, measuring around 15.25mm thick and weighing roughly 1.34kg. The E16 naturally comes in heavier at around 1.63kg.

Connectivity still feels very ThinkPad-like here, which is probably good news for office users tired of dongle-heavy ultrabooks. Both models include Thunderbolt 4, USB-A ports, HDMI 2.1, Ethernet, and a headphone jack. Lenovo is also keeping the classic ThinkPad keyboard and TrackPoint setup intact.

Overall, these do not look like dramatic redesigns, but they do feel like sensible upgrades. Lenovo seems to be focusing on the areas that actually matter for long-term daily use: display quality, battery life, thermals, and practical connectivity.

Earlier this year at CES 2026, Dell stated it wanted to make its Alienware brand more accessible to people who don’t want to spend premium prices. After releasing a $350 QD-OLED monitor last month, the company is now applying that same strategy to its laptops with the new Alienware 15.

The most noticeable change to the Alienware 15 is its shape. For years, Alienware laptops have featured a large thermal shelf protruding from the back of the device. Dell has completely removed it here. The result is a much more standard-looking laptop with a 180-degree hinge.

The chassis is made of black polycarbonate rather than metal, which keeps the weight at about 4.96 pounds. It still has the glowing Alien head on the lid, but otherwise, it looks like a normal laptop that can easily fit into a standard backpack.

To keep the price down, Dell clearly had to make some compromises, and the display is the most obvious one. The 15.3-inch 1920 x 1200 screen has a 165Hz refresh rate, which is fine for standard gaming. However, it only reaches 300 nits of brightness and covers just 62.5 percent of the sRGB color space. It will work for playing games indoors, but it isn’t a screen you would want to use for photo or video editing.

Port selection is practical, featuring an Ethernet jack, HDMI 2.1, two USB-A ports, and two USB-C ports, one of which supports 100W charging.

Dell is placing the Alienware 15 in its new Core tier, sitting below the mid-range Aurora models and the high-end Area-51 laptops. However, by removing the expensive chassis materials and using a basic display, Dell has put together a straightforward laptop for people who just want to play games without spending flagship money.

Lenovo just shared the details for its 2026 Legion Y7000X gaming laptop. It’s a 15-inch machine that pairs Intel’s new Core Ultra processors with Nvidia’s RTX 50-series graphics. If you live outside of China, you will likely see this same hardware sold as the Lenovo Legion 5i (specifically the 15IAX11 model).

It also covers the full DCI-P3 color gamut and comes factory-calibrated, so it should work fine for photo or video editing if you need to use it for tasks other than gaming.

Inside, the laptop runs on the AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX processor, a 16-core, 32-thread chip designed for heavy workloads and gaming. Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 7 is now official, quietly replacing last year’s Lenovo ThinkPad T14 Gen 6. Lenovo first showed the laptop at MWC 2026, but sales have only started in select regions.

For now, the new T14 is limited to Intel’s Panther Lake chips. AMD variants, expected to include up to Ryzen AI 7 Pro 450, are not available yet. The laptop is also missing from North America at launch, where Lenovo has listed it as “coming soon.”

Pricing is already live elsewhere. It starts at £1,560 in the UK, and between €1,719 and €1,829 across Europe, depending on the configuration.

The base model sticks to a standard setup. It comes with a Core Ultra 5 325 processor, 16 GB of LPCAMM2 RAM, and a 256 GB PCIe Gen 4 SSD. There is also a 60 Wh battery and a 14-inch IPS display with 1200p resolution.

Where things open up is in customization. Lenovo is offering eight Intel processor options at launch, including Core Ultra 5 332 vPro, 335 vPro, 338H vPro, Core Ultra 7 355, 365 vPro, 356H, and the top-end Core Ultra X7 358H. Memory can go up to 64 GB, while storage can be pushed to a 2 TB PCIe Gen 5 SSD.

Samsung has launched the Galaxy Book 6 series in India with three models: Galaxy Book 6 Ultra, Galaxy Book 6 Pro, and Galaxy Book 6. The new lineup focuses on updated design, AMOLED displays, Intel Core Ultra processors, and built-in Galaxy AI features.

The series comes with a redesigned chassis and updated internal layout. Samsung has added a wider vapor chamber, thinner fans, and a revised hinge system to improve cooling while keeping the laptops slim. The Galaxy Book 6 Ultra measures 15.4mm in thickness, while the Galaxy Book 6 Pro 16-inch comes in at 11.9mm. The laptops use a two-tone backlit keyboard across all models. The Ultra and Pro include a haptic touchpad, while the standard Galaxy Book 6 uses a clickpad.

On the display side, the Galaxy Book 6 Ultra features a 16-inch touch AMOLED panel with WQXGA+ resolution of 2880 × 1800 and peak brightness up to 1000 nits. The Pro models offer 16GB or 32GB LPDDR5X RAM with 512GB or 1TB SSD options, with expansion support on the 16-inch model. The standard Book 6 also supports 16GB or 32GB RAM with 512GB or 1TB SSD, with expansion available on the 14-inch model.

Battery capacity on the Ultra is 80.2Wh, with support for 100W USB Type-C charging on the integrated model and 140W on the discrete GPU version. The Pro models include 67.18Wh for the 14-inch and 78.07Wh for the 16-inch, both with 65W charging. The standard Book 6 uses a 61.2Wh battery with 45W charging. Samsung claims up to 30 hours of video playback under typical usage. The Ultra supports fast charging up to 63 percent in around 30 minutes.

Audio on the Ultra includes a six-speaker system with Dolby Atmos, using four woofers and two tweeters. The Pro 16-inch uses quad speakers, while the 14-inch model uses stereo speakers. The standard Book 6 also includes stereo speakers. All models include dual-array microphones and a 2MP 1080p webcam.

Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 on the Ultra and Pro models, while the standard Book 6 supports Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.4. Ports on the Ultra and Pro include two Thunderbolt 4 ports, one USB Type-A port, HDMI 2.1 with support for 8K at 60Hz and 5K at 120Hz, a microSD slot, and a headphone and microphone combo jack. The Book 6 includes two USB Type-C ports, two USB Type-A ports, HDMI, microSD, RJ45, and a security lock slot. The laptops run Windows 11 Home and include Samsung Knox security along with secured-core PC support.

Lenovo has unveiled the Xiaoxin Pro 16 2026 AI Yuanqi Edition laptop at its latest product launch event. The laptop is priced between 7,499 yuan ($1,091) and 8,499 yuan ($1,236).

Honor has refreshed its premium ultraportable lineup at MWC 2026, introducing the MagicBook Pro 14 2026 with a familiar design but significantly upgraded internals. It weighs 1.37kg — not a dramatic drop from 1.39kg, but enough to keep it firmly in ultraportable territory.

The display remains one of the headline features. Honor is sticking with a 14.6-inch OLED touchscreen in a productivity-friendly 3:2 aspect ratio. Resolution sits at 3120 × 2080 (roughly 258 PPI), paired with a 120Hz refresh rate. On paper, the panel offers 100% DCI-P3 coverage, 10-bit color, and a peak brightness up to 700 nits for HDR content.

The display is clearly aimed at creators who care about color fidelity. TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light and Flicker Free certifications are also present, and Honor is adding an “E-Book mode” to reduce eye strain during longer reading sessions.

The bigger story, though, is inside. The MagicBook Pro 14 2026 is among the first laptops to ship with Intel’s new Core Ultra Series 3 processors, codenamed Panther Lake. The new additions to the LG Gram 14 series were first previewed ahead of CES earlier this year, but they’re now officially available for pre-order in LG’s home market. As the smallest option in the broader 2026 Gram family, which also includes 15-, 16-, and 17-inch models, the 14-inch versions continue to focus on portability above all else.

At just 1.12 kg, the new Gram 14 remains one of the lightest laptops in its class. The chassis measures 15.7 mm thick, which keeps it slim enough for daily commuting or travel without feeling fragile. LG has built its reputation on this balance, and that doesn’t seem to be changing.

Big battery in a small body

What stands out more than the weight, though, is the battery. Every configuration includes a 72Wh cell, which is fairly large for a 14-inch laptop this thin. LG hasn’t published detailed runtime figures yet, but on paper, it should comfortably handle a full workday under typical use.

The display is a 14-inch IPS panel with a 1920×1200 resolution, 60Hz refresh rate, and up to 350 nits brightness. It’s not trying to compete with high-refresh gaming panels, but it should be perfectly fine for productivity, browsing, and media.

Under the hood, LG is using AMD’s latest Ryzen AI 400-series processors (based on the Gorgon Point platform). Entry models come with the Ryzen AI 5 435, 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM, and a 512GB PCIe 4.0 SSD. Higher-end versions step up to the Ryzen AI 7 450 and can be configured with up to 32GB of RAM.

Pricing in Japan starts at JPY 215,820 (roughly $1,392), while the top-tier configuration reaches JPY 349,800 (around $2,255). As always, regional pricing doesn’t directly translate to other markets, so global pricing could look different.

Intel Panther Lake-based versions are expected to join the Gram 14 lineup later in 2026, likely under different model numbers. That gives LG flexibility depending on regional demand and performance preferences.

Design and Build Quality

The Vivobook S14 might not be the flashiest device in the room, but it blends in well. The Matte Gray finish on my unit looks subdued and classy, with a CNC-engraved chrome Asus Vivobook logo that adds a bit of character without drawing too much attention. The overall design feels clean and minimal, and it does not attract fingerprints the way some glossier ZenBooks tend to.

It weighs just 1.4 kg and measures about 15.9 mm in thickness, which makes it easy to carry around in a backpack. Despite the lightweight design, the build feels solid. There is no flex in the keyboard deck, no noticeable screen wobble, and the hinge supports a full 180-degree lay-flat design. For eye comfort, the display supports low blue light hardware certification and DC Dimming. This avoids PWM flicker at lower brightness levels and helps reduce eye strain during extended work sessions or nighttime use.

Brightness peaks at around 300-400 nits, which is suitable for indoor use and remains usable outdoors as long as direct sunlight is avoided. The display uses a glossy finish, so reflections are visible at times, but Asus includes an anti-reflective coating to reduce glare.

To be honest, the Vivobook S14’s display is class-leading for its segment. Many competitors at similar prices offer only IPS LCDs (often lower resolution or lower color gamut), whereas Asus has made OLED more accessible. The only trade-offs to be aware of are the typical ones with OLED: potential image retention if static content is left for hours. Copilot, background blur in video calls, real-time translation, and local AI summarization all run smoother and more efficiently on this chip than on older CPU or GPU-bound systems.

And it is not just theoretical. I used AI-powered features in Office apps, Windows Studio Effects, and several local applications that benefit from NPU offload, and they consistently performed without any issues. The advantage lies in the quiet and efficient operation, as AI tasks happen seamlessly in the background without draining the battery or triggering fan noise.

In terms of raw performance, the laptop never felt limited during everyday workloads. It handled heavy Chrome sessions, 1080p video editing, large WordPress dashboards, and even moderate gaming with ease.

Gaming

No, this isn’t a gaming laptop. But the Radeon 860M GPU with RDNA 3.5 architecture is surprisingly capable for an integrated chip. I tested a few titles:

• Valorant: 170-230 fps (Low settings, 1080p)
• Genshin Impact: 60 fps (Low), 20-25 fps (High)
• PUBG: ~50 fps (Lowest settings)

These aren’t groundbreaking numbers, but for an ultrabook? Very respectable. If you’re into casual gaming, this can hold its own.

Thermal and Fan Performance

Asus has done an excellent job with thermal management on this laptop. Even during benchmarks or light gaming, the fans never became noticeably loud. Most of the time, they stayed silent, especially when running in Standard or Whisper mode. When pushed in Performance mode, fan noise hovered around 38 dB, producing a low whoosh rather than a distracting sound.

Temperatures remained in the 75s °C range under load, with very little heat buildup across the chassis. After a Valorant session, the keyboard area felt only slightly warm, and the palm rest stayed cool. This efficiency comes from the dual fan cooling system that Asus adapted from its higher wattage designs, which provides more cooling headroom than the chip actually requires.

Battery Life, Sound, and Camera

Asus claims up to 23 hours of battery life, and while I did not reach that exact figure, I consistently achieved around 10 to 12 hours in real-world use. For my workflow of writing, browsing, streaming music, and light photo editing, I only needed to charge it every other day. The Vivobook S14 delivers impressive storage performance with its PCIe Gen 4 SSD. The review unit I tested featured a 512GB NVMe PCIe 4.0 drive, while Asus also offers a 1TB option depending on the configuration. Sequential read speeds exceeded 6,700 MB/s, and write speeds reached around 3,600 MB/s in testing. These results translate into fast app launches, smooth multitasking, and quick file access.

For memory, the laptop comes with 16GB of DDR5 RAM onboard, which is fast and efficient for daily productivity and creative workloads. Unlike many ultrabooks, Asus includes a DDR5 SO-DIMM slot for future upgrades, allowing users to expand memory beyond 16 GB if required.

The storage is also user accessible via a standard M.2 2280 PCIe 4.0×4 slot, making it possible to replace or expand the SSD later. This mix of soldered and upgradable components gives the Vivobook S14 more flexibility than most thin and light laptops in its class.

Lenovo has started selling the Yoga Slim 7i Ultra Aura Edition in the UK, after recently showing it at CES 2026. The 14-inch laptop is part of Intel’s new Panther Lake lineup and replaces the earlier Lunar Lake-based Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition.

At CES, Lenovo promoted the laptop with the Core Ultra X9 388H processor. However, the first retail units in the UK ship with the Core Ultra 7 355 instead. This processor has 8 cores, split into 4 performance and 4 efficiency cores. The X9 model shown at launch features a more complex 16-core setup with 4 performance, 8 efficiency, and 4 low-power efficiency cores. For graphics, the Core Ultra 7 355 includes an iGPU with 4 Xe3 integrated GPU cores.

Other hardware specifications remain unchanged. The Yoga Slim 7i Ultra Aura Edition features a 2.8K OLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate and up to 1,110 nits of peak HDR brightness. The panel covers 100 percent of AdobeRGB and sRGB color spaces and carries VESA DisplayHDR True Black 1000 certification. Lenovo pairs the display with 32 GB of LPDDR5X RAM running at up to 9,600 MHz. Storage options include either 1 TB or 2 TB M.2 2242 SSDs.

The laptop is built around a magnesium alloy chassis designed to minimize weight. It weighs 975 grams, which is under 2.2 lbs, and measures 312 x 212 x 13.9 mm. A 75 Wh battery is included, and Lenovo uses a matte Yoga coating across the chassis to reduce fingerprints and surface oils during daily use.

As for pricing in the UK, Lenovo store prices the 1TB configuration at £1,620. The 2 TB version costs £1,879 and includes a Windows 11 Pro license. All prices include VAT. These models will be available from February 6 on the brand’s website.

In the US, the Yoga Slim 7i Ultra Aura Edition is still marked as coming soon, with pricing expected to start at $1,499.99 and availability planned for Q2 2026. Lenovo has not confirmed whether a Core Ultra X9 388H version will be sold later.
