After months of leaks, speculations, and rumors, Lenovo finally confirmed that the company will be launching its first gaming smartphone — Lenovo Legion Gaming Phone on 22nd July in China.

Today, the company has shared a new teaser poster on its Weibo account which reveals that the Lenovo Legion will be the first smartphone in the world to come powered by the newly announced Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 Plus chipset.

Soon after the launch of Lenovo Legion, ASUS will also be launching its next-generation gaming smartphone, dubbed as ASUS ROG Phone 3. The India launch is set for 22nd July while the China launch event will take place a day later.

Coming to the specifications of the Lenovo smartphone, it has been revealed that the phone will come with a 6.67-inch AMOLED screen with support for Full HD+ screen resolution and 144Hz refresh rate.

As for the memory configuration, we expect the smartphone to come packed with up to 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. It will come with a pop-up side-mounted front-facing camera, which will be of 20-megapixel.

The company had recently revealed that the phone will be arriving with the industry’s most powerful speakers, dual liquid cooling system, and dual X-axis linear motor. Recently, the smartphone’s render has surfaced online, where the company is referring to the device as the Lenovo Legion Gaming Phone Pro.

It remains to be seen if we will be getting two models of Lenovo Legion — a Pro and a non-Pro variant. Whatever be the case, the launch event is just a few days away, so it’s not a long wait to know more about the device.

Gaming on smartphones doesn’t generate much heat compared to PC. Anyway, it is always good to have better thermal management. Gaming-oriented and flagship phones since the last few years have been featuring some sort of liquid cooling system. Nubia, in particular, has also been including cooling fan.

As for Lenovo Legion Gaming Phone, it will come with not one but dual liquid cooling system. The handset will also feature 14 temperature sensors inside its chassis to monitor real-time heat generation. For comparison, the budget flagship, Redmi K30 Pro aka POCO F2 Pro comes with 9 temperature sensors.

In fact, Lenovo compared the cooling system present in Legion Gaming Phone when the Redmi K30 Pro launched in March. It is not a fair comparison in any means since the latter is not a gaming phone, however, that’s how the industry works.

Lenovo has begun to tease the features of its first gaming smartphone dubbed as “Legion Gaming Phone”. Last month, the company announced to launch this handset in July. As now, we have entered the new month, the brand dropped the first teaser earlier today and a prank unboxing video last evening.

The first teaser for Lenovo Legion Gaming Phone reveals it to come with dual X-axis linear motor for vibration. The brand claims it to offer immersive feedback during gameplay. 

Chen Jin, the General Manager of Lenovo Mobile China also confirmed the same in a live broadcast. He also said that there will be a limited number of fan customized version of the handset and details regarding it will be announced alongside the standard version of the phone.

That said, though Lenovo has revealed to launch the Legion Gaming Phone in July, it is yet to announce the exact date for the launch. Before that, the brand’s executive already unboxed the handset’s box in a video.

Yes, you heard it right. He merely unboxed the official box as inside it was the already available Lenovo Z6 Pro, the company’s flagship smartphone from last year.

Today, a new teaser as emerged which suggests that the 90W fast charge on the gaming smartphone will be able to deliver a full charge to a 4000mAh battery in just 15 minutes. The teaser was shared from Lenovo’s Legion official Weibo handle which means it is an authentic one.

No doubt, that’s some ferocious charging speed which definitely floors all that we have seen so far in terms of smartphone charging power. In addition, you won’t have to worry about the 90W fast charge support being on the top-end “Pro” model only. Instead, the company has hinted that it will be on all models. That itself props up the possibility of the gaming phone coming in more than one variant, possibly a higher Pro version with higher RAM or larger storage size.

The images seem to showcase the upcoming Lenovo gaming phone from all angles.
