<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Gaming on smartphones doesn’t generate much heat compared to PC. Anyway, it is always good to have better thermal management. Earlier this week, the handset <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/07/08/lenovo-legion-gaming-phone-antutu-listing-reveals-snapdragon-865-plus-16gb-ram-and-648k-score/">appeared on AnTuTu benchmarks</a> with a remarkable score of 648,871. The handset was found to be equipped with 16 GB of RAM. A Geekbench listing of the same 16 GB RAM variant has appeared to reveal its performance scores.</p>
<p>The 16 GB RAM variant of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/lenovo-legion/">Lenovo Legion gaming phone</a> scored 4556 in the single-core test of Geekbench. The handset salvaged a score of 13,438 in the multi-core test. As the company has officially, the handset is fueled by the all-new <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/06/10/lenovo-legion-gaming-phone-chipset/">Snapdragon 865+.</a></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-331501" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Lenovo-Legion-Gamign-Phone-Geekbench.jpg?x44794" alt="Lenovo Legion Gamign Phone Geekbench" width="674" height="680" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Lenovo-Legion-Gamign-Phone-Geekbench.jpg 674w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Lenovo-Legion-Gamign-Phone-Geekbench-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Lenovo-Legion-Gamign-Phone-Geekbench-297x300.jpg 297w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/07/Lenovo-Legion-Gamign-Phone-Geekbench-416x420.jpg 416w" sizes="(max-width: 674px) 100vw, 674px" /></p>

<p>As it is known, the SoC is a faster CPU and GPU version of the SD865 chipset. The Legion phone was found to be running on Android 10 OS in its Geekbench test. The appearance at the benchmarking platform suggests that the company be internally testing its performance.</p>
<p>The AnTuTu listing had revealed that the 16 GB RAM edition of the gaming phone is equipped with 512 GB of storage. The previous appearance of the smartphone at Geekbench had revealed it could be also coming in 8 GB RAM edition. Hence, there is a possibility that the phone may arrive in RAM editions like 8 GB, 12 GB, and 16 GB and storage choices like 256 GB and 512 GB.</p>

Some reports have claimed that the smartphone will be going official in the third quarter of this year. It appears that the launch of the Lenovo gaming phone could be drawing near as it has received approval from the 3C authority of China.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-325597" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Lenovo-Legion-3C.png?x44794" alt="Lenovo Legion 3C" width="1107" height="91" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Lenovo-Legion-3C.png 1107w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Lenovo-Legion-3C-300x25.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Lenovo-Legion-3C-768x63.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Lenovo-Legion-3C-1024x84.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Lenovo-Legion-3C-696x57.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/06/Lenovo-Legion-3C-1068x88.png 1068w" sizes="(max-width: 1107px) 100vw, 1107px" /></p>
<p>Past reports have revealed that the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/lenovo-legion/">Legion gaming phone</a> has L79031 model number. The 3C listing shows that the L79031 is a 5G-ready smartphone. The 3C appearance also mentions a 45W charger. Lenovo has previously a poster that claimed that the Legion gaming phone supports 90W fast charging. However, netizens were doubting whether the phone really charges at that speed, but the Chinese firm later clarified that it will indeed arrive with a 90W rapid charger. So, there is a possibility that the company could be providing a 45W charger in the retail box of the device and it could be separately selling a 90W fast charger for it.</p>

<p>In May, <em>XDA Developers </em>had revealed some of the key specs of the Legion phone. The report revealed that the handset is codenamed as “moba.” The gaming phone is powered by Snapdragon 865 mobile platform and it is expected to run <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/04/28/lenovo-legion-gaming-phones-display-revealed-gaming-grade-os-to-come-preinstalled/">on gaming-grade Legion OS</a>.</p>
<p>The Lenovo Legion gaming phone has a notch-less display and it has two USB-C ports. The smartphone is designed to be operated in a horizontal manner. The exact battery size of the device is not known, but its promo video had revealed that it can fully charge in just 30 minutes. A teaser poster released by the company in April suggested that <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/04/14/lenovo-legion-phones-90w-charging-will-refill-a-4000mah-battery-in-15-minutes/">it could be coming with a 4,000mAh battery</a>. It is unclear whether the phone has a 3.5mm audio jack.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-321071" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Lenovo-Legion.jpg?x44794" alt="Lenovo Legion" width="500" height="500" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Lenovo-Legion.jpg 500w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Lenovo-Legion-150x150.jpg 150w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Lenovo-Legion-300x300.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Lenovo-Legion-420x420.jpg 420w" sizes="(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px" /></p>
<p>For an enhanced gaming experience, the phone is expected to come with uEngine dual X-axis linear vibration motor. The handset is said to have an advanced liquid cooling system. The device is also expected to deliver stellar audio experience through its 65mm dual speakers, dual 0.6mm amp speaker system, and 1.4cc large sound cavity.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/05/05/lenovo-legion-gaming-smartphone-leaked-features-a-side-popup-camera/">In terms of specs</a>, the Lenovo Legion gaming phone is likely to arrive with UFS 3.0 storage, LPDDR5 RAM, and 144Hz refresh rate supporting screen with 1080 x 2340 pixels resolution. It is unclear whether the phone has an LCD or OLED display. It has a side-mounted pop-up selfie camera of 20-megapixel and a 64-megapixel + 16-megapixel (wide-angle) dual-camera setup on its back.</p>

In recent weeks, several details of the gaming phone have appeared on the internet. Just yesterday, the company teased the presence of a mammoth 90W fast charge support which the gaming phone will provide. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/lenovo-legion-2.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-316756" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/lenovo-legion-2.png?x44794" alt="" width="599" height="415" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/lenovo-legion-2.png 599w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/lenovo-legion-2-300x208.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/lenovo-legion-2-100x70.png 100w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/lenovo-legion-2-218x150.png 218w" sizes="(max-width: 599px) 100vw, 599px" /></a></p>
<p>Today, a new teaser as emerged which suggests that the 90W fast charge on the gaming smartphone will be able to deliver a full charge to a 4000mAh battery in just 15 minutes. The teaser was shared from Lenovo&#8217;s Legion official Weibo handle which means it is an authentic one.<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/lenovo-legion-4.jpg?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-316758" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/lenovo-legion-4.jpg?x44794" alt="Lenovo Legion gaming phone" width="690" height="1227" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/lenovo-legion-4.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/lenovo-legion-4-169x300.jpg 169w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/lenovo-legion-4-576x1024.jpg 576w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/lenovo-legion-4-236x420.jpg 236w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></a></p>
<p>No doubt, that&#8217;s some ferocious charging speed which definitely floors all that we have seen so far in terms of smartphone charging power. In addition, you won&#8217;t have to worry about the 90W fast charge support being on the top-end &#8220;Pro&#8221; model only. Instead, the company has hinted that it will be on all models. That itself props up the possibility of the gaming phone coming in more than one variant, possibly a higher Pro version with higher RAM or larger storage size. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/lenovo-legion-3.png?x44794"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-316757" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/lenovo-legion-3.png?x44794" alt="Lenovo Legion gaming phone" width="595" height="483" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/lenovo-legion-3.png 595w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/lenovo-legion-3-300x244.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/lenovo-legion-3-517x420.png 517w" sizes="(max-width: 595px) 100vw, 595px" /></a></p>
<p>In addition, the teaser may have indirectly revealed to us that the Legion gaming smartphone will cram a 4000mAh battery. That would be more than adequate with this charging prowess. We also expect the company to implement an efficient cooling system onboard the device so as to keep it cool while charging or gaming.</p>
<p>We already know that the Lenovo Legion gaming phone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 chipset. The renders of the device are also in the open. However, there is no word yet on the launch date.</p>

Now, Lenovo shares that the Lenovo Legion gaming phone will support 90W fast charging, making it the world&#8217;s fastest charging smartphone.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/04/13/lenovo-legion-gaming-phone-to-support-worlds-90w-superfast-charging/lenovo-legion-90w-wireless-charging-3/" rel="attachment wp-att-316364"><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-316364" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Lenovo-Legion-90W-wireless-charging-2.jpg?x44794" alt="Lenovo Legion 90W charging" width="690" height="1438" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Lenovo-Legion-90W-wireless-charging-2.jpg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Lenovo-Legion-90W-wireless-charging-2-144x300.jpg 144w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Lenovo-Legion-90W-wireless-charging-2-491x1024.jpg 491w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/04/Lenovo-Legion-90W-wireless-charging-2-202x420.jpg 202w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></a>Currently, OPPO’s 65W SuperVOOC 2.0 is available as the world’s fastest wired charging technology. Xiaomi and Vivo have been respectively <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/02/04/lu-weibing-reveals-details-about-xiaomi-100w-super-charge-turbo/">testing 100W</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/06/20/vivos-120w-super-flashcharge-can-power-4000mah-battery-in-13-minutes/">120W fast charging</a> technologies, but they are still not available for general users. An earlier report had claimed that Lenovo Legion gaming smartphone’s<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/03/25/lenovo-legion-gaming-phone-renders-leaked/"> fast charging capabilities will surpass 55W</a>. Today, the company revealed that’s 90W charging is not sum up of wired charging, wireless charging and reverse charging. The handset will indeed support 90W superfast charging!</p>
<p>The 90W charging tech from Lenovo will raise the competition bar higher when it comes to charging a phone in lesser time. OPPO’s SuperVOOC 2.0 can charge a 4,000mAh battery in around half an hour. The 90W charging tech is expected to charge the same-sized battery at a faster rate.</p>

<p>At present, there is no information on the battery capacity of the Lenovo Legion gaming phone. Rumors have claimed that it could be backed by a 5,050mAh battery.  It remains to be seen whether Lenovo Legion phone will also arrive with wireless charging and reverse wireless charging features.</p>

The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/03/25/lenovo-legion-gaming-phone-renders-leaked/">renders of an early prototype of the smartphone</a> had surfaced last month. <p>The renders seem to belong to an early prototype of the Lenovo Legion phone. This could be the reason why the handset is imprinted with Snapdragon 855. There is a possibility that the final product may come with a modified design.</p>

<p>Around the edges, there is a toggle key probably for high performance gaming and shoulder buttons and a USB-C port for conveniently charging while playing games. There is another USB-C port on the bottom side of the smartphone. The display of the phone has almost equal-sized upper and lower bezels which could assist in comfortably gripping the device. A selfie camera is available on the top bezel. The device is rumored to be backed by a 5,050mAh battery.</p>
<p>Readers are advised to digest the above leak with a grain of salt as the images could belong to an early prototype.</p>
