At the BW Expo, Lenovo has unveiled its latest gaming tablet, the Legion Y700 (2023). Priced at 2399 yuan ($333), the device has impressive features, making it a strong contender in the gaming tablet market.

Lenovo Legion Y700 2023 boasts an 8.8-inch display with a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels, 343 PPI pixel density, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, peak brightness of 500 nits, and a 144Hz refresh rate.

Under the hood, the Legion Y700 (2023) is powered by the powerful Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, paired with LPDDR5X memory, achieving an impressive AnTuTu benchmark score of 1.39 million points. The device comes in 12GB and 16GB RAM variants, with 256GB and 512GB inbuilt storage options. Out of the box, the device runs on Android 13 with ZUi 15.0 on top. The tablet also features a 13MP dual rear camera with an LED flash and an 8MP front camera for selfies.

Addressing thermal concerns during extended gaming sessions, Lenovo has equipped the tablet with an enhanced cooling system and a metal back cover to maintain peak performance.

Despite its feature-rich design, the Legion Y700 (2023) manages to be lighter than its predecessor, weighing only 348g and measuring 7.6mm thick. The all-metal material with a CNC-processed middle frame provides a textured and comfortable grip for gamers during long play sessions.

In terms of battery life, the Legion Y700 (2023) comes with a 6550mAh battery and supports 45W Super Flash Charging. Additionally, the tablet offers dual USB Type-C ports for concurrent charging and headphone use, along with bypass charging to protect the battery and enhance performance.

Lenovo Legion Y700 2023 comes in Grey and Blue colors. Lenovo has managed to keep the price competitive, even with the inclusion of new features. Customers can enjoy a 100 yuan ($13) discount on all variants during the pre-sale period.

The options include: 12GB RAM + 256GB storage at 2399 yuan ($333), 12GB RAM + 512GB storage at 2599 yuan ($361), and 16GB RAM + 512GB storage at 2799 yuan ($389).

Lenovo is gearing up to launch a new gaming tablet in China, dubbed Legion Y700 (2023). The new tablet should pack the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor under the hood with a large battery. It will be the successor to the last year’s Legion Y700 (review). The slate will be launched in its home country on July 22. While we wait, Lenovo has published a hands-on video of the device, showcasing the new design and dual USB-C ports. Here are the details.

Legion Y700 has gotten thinner and lighter than last year

As seen in the video, the Legion Y700 (2023) gets a rectangular camera module instead of an oval one found on its predecessor. The tablet is now significantly thinner and lighter as compared to Legion Y700 (2022). It gets two camera sensors as well as flat sides and display. Being a gaming tablet, Legion Y700 (2023) gets two USB-C ports for better connectivity.

The video did not reveal any other details, but tipster Digital Chat Station has shared most of the specifications of the tablet. The upcoming device will boast an 8.8-inch LCD screen with a display resolution of 1,600 x 2,560 pixels. Lenovo has apparently upgraded the refresh rate to 144Hz.

Furthermore, the tipster says the Legion Y700 (2023) will be backed by a 6,550mAh battery unit with support for 45W charging. The slate will have an 8MP front-facing camera and a 13MP rear camera. There’s also another unknown sensor on the back.

Lenovo debuted the Legion Y700 gaming tablet in China last year. The brand has recently started teasing its successor via its official Weibo handle. The new tablet will also be called the Lenovo Legion Y700 and will come with some key upgrades to its SoC, RAM, and software.

The Lenovo Legion Y700 (2023 model) is set to feature the Snapdragon + Gen 1 SoC, replacing the Snapdragon 870 found in the previous year’s model. This upgraded chip is expected to bring significant improvements to the tablet’s performance. Users can anticipate a boost of approximately 31% in single-core performance and 23% in multicore performance, along with nearly double the GPU performance.
