Now, the company has started replacing the old logo with the new one at Mi Home Stores.</p>
<p>The development was confirmed by Lu Weibing, Partner at Xiaomi Group, President of Xiaomi China, and General Manager of the Redmi brand. The new logo was revealed by Lei Jun, Founder and CEO of Xiaomi, on 30th March during Spring New Product Launch event.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-393018 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Mi-Home-Store-New-Logo-1.jpeg?x44794" alt="Mi Home Store New Logo" width="690" height="477" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Mi-Home-Store-New-Logo-1.jpeg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Mi-Home-Store-New-Logo-1-300x207.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Mi-Home-Store-New-Logo-1-100x70.jpeg 100w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Mi-Home-Store-New-Logo-1-218x150.jpeg 218w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Mi-Home-Store-New-Logo-1-608x420.jpeg 608w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></p>
<p>The new logo of Xiaomi has been designed by Kenya Hara, a professor of Musashino Art University and the President of the Nippon Design Center (NDC).</p>
<p>For this new logo, <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Xiaomi</a> has gone with rounded corners much like what you have seen on some icon packs. So you have a squircle in place of the old logo which is a square. Xiaomi says the designer used the “superellipse” mathematical formula for the design and had to adjust the variables to get a visually optimal dynamic balance and a perfect balance between a square and a circle.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-full wp-image-393019 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Mi-Home-Store-New-Logo-2.jpeg?x44794" alt="Mi Home Store New Logo" width="690" height="517" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Mi-Home-Store-New-Logo-2.jpeg 690w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Mi-Home-Store-New-Logo-2-300x225.jpeg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Mi-Home-Store-New-Logo-2-80x60.jpeg 80w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Mi-Home-Store-New-Logo-2-265x198.jpeg 265w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/06/Mi-Home-Store-New-Logo-2-561x420.jpeg 561w" sizes="(max-width: 690px) 100vw, 690px" /></p>
<p>Xiaomi says that it will continue to use orange as its corporate color and thus the color of the logo remains unchanged. However, it will use Black and Silver variants of the logo as supplemental colors for high-end products.</p>
<p>A couple of months ago, in April, when Xiaomi launched its 5000th Mi Home Store in China in the city of Shenyang which was also the first to use the new Xiaomi branding.</p>

The news arrives after the court stated that both firms logos do not share any similarity to each other.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-385748 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/chanel-brand-extension-1-638.jpg?x44794" alt="Huawei" width="638" height="359" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/chanel-brand-extension-1-638.jpg 638w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/chanel-brand-extension-1-638-300x169.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 638px) 100vw, 638px" /></p>
<p>According to an <a href="https://www.scmp.com/tech/big-tech/article/3130536/chanel-loses-eu-trademark-court-fight-huawei-over-logo" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>SCMP</em> </a>report, the French luxury brand lost its trademark battle against the Chinese tech giant regarding the logo design. Notably, this also highlights the sensitive nature of luxury brands guarding their logos to preserve the luxury symbols that showcases their &#8220;style and exclusivity&#8221; to millions of people across the globe. The claim from Chanel first arrived back in 2017, when Huawei sought approval from the EU Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) to register its computer hardware trademark which featured two vertical interlocking semicircles.</p>
<p>This branding led to Chanel alleging that this design is similar to its registered French logo of two horizontal interlocking semicircles that are used on the brand&#8217;s cosmetics, perfumes, clothing, and other such products. In 2019, the trademark office had dismissed the company&#8217;s claims saying that there was no similarity and there would be no confusion between both brands in the eyes of the consumers.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter wp-image-324411 size-full" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Huawei-Logo-MWC-2019.jpg?x44794" alt="Huawei Logo MWC 2019" width="3000" height="2000" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Huawei-Logo-MWC-2019.jpg 3000w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Huawei-Logo-MWC-2019-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Huawei-Logo-MWC-2019-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Huawei-Logo-MWC-2019-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Huawei-Logo-MWC-2019-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Huawei-Logo-MWC-2019-1068x712.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Huawei-Logo-MWC-2019-630x420.jpg 630w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2020/05/Huawei-Logo-MWC-2019-1920x1280.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 3000px) 100vw, 3000px" /></p>
<p>However, Chanel then took the challenge to the Luxembourg based General Court. Here, the claim was dismissed again in a ruling earlier this week. As per the tribunal of judges,&#8221;The figurative marks at issue are not similar. The marks must be compared as applied for and registered, without altering their orientation.&#8221; The tribunal added that there were visual differences between both logos &#8220;In particular, Chanel’s marks have more rounded curves, thicker lines and a horizontal orientation, whereas the orientation of the Huawei mark is vertical. Consequently, the General Court concludes that the marks are different.”</p>

The device had the branding positioned incorrectly and was allegedly sold for a high price of 2,700 US Dollars.</p>
<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" data-width="550" data-dnt="true">
<p lang="en" dir="ltr">A misprint iPhone 11 Pro that sold for 2700$. This misprint is extremely rare- I’d say 1 in 100 million or possibly even rarer. <a href="https://t.co/68F7giZAbm">pic.twitter.com/68F7giZAbm</a></p>
<p>&mdash; Internal Archive (@ArchiveInternal) <a href="https://twitter.com/ArchiveInternal/status/1380511781131550722?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw">April 9, 2021</a></p></blockquote>
<p><script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script></p>
<p>According to an <a href="https://appleinsider.com/articles/21/04/11/iphone-11-pro-with-misprinted-apple-logo-sold-for-2700" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><em>AppleInsider</em> </a>report, a tweet by Internal Archive on Twitter shared images of the rear of an iPhone 11 Pro model. In the images, the handset can be seen in multiple angles. This offers a clear look of the iPhone, highlighting its misprinted brand logo on the rear. Looking at the defect, it is clear the angle of the logo and its actual position is incorrect compared to the centrally aligned official logos that can be found on the rear of every iPhone.</p>
<p>We can see that the misprinted logo is off center and positioned noticeably to the right. Furthermore, the angle of the logo is also titled slightly anticlockwise. If this is truly the case, then the device would have faced a manufacturing error where the rear panel was likely not seated properly when the machine was imprinting the logo on the iPhone. Unfortunately, the tweet offers very little details and there is no concrete evidence to support the existence of the device.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class=" wp-image-383485 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/EyiQFfeXAAQkHFN.jpg?x44794" alt="Apple" width="471" height="471" /></p>
<p>Although, there is still a plausible chance for this to occur, however, it is numerically unlikely considering that this would be extremely rare. Like, &#8221; in 100 million&#8221; chance of it ever happening. This would also mean that the faulty device also managed to somehow make it through the Cupertino based giant&#8217;s strict quality assurance process and actually shipped to a customer. Lastly, it is also unknown how and where this misprinted iPhone 11 Pro was sold for 2,700 US Dollars.</p>

<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-380935" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Xiaomi-Mi-Logo.jpg?x44794" alt="Xiaomi Mi Logo" width="1080" height="608" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Xiaomi-Mi-Logo.jpg 1080w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Xiaomi-Mi-Logo-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Xiaomi-Mi-Logo-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Xiaomi-Mi-Logo-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Xiaomi-Mi-Logo-696x392.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Xiaomi-Mi-Logo-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Xiaomi-Mi-Logo-746x420.jpg 746w" sizes="(max-width: 1080px) 100vw, 1080px" /></p>
<p>The new logo was designed by Kenya Hara, a professor of Musashino Art University and the President of the Nippon Design Center (NDC). For the new logo, <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi">Xiaomi</a> has gone with rounded corners much like what you have on some icon packs. So you have a squircle in place of the old logo which is a square.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-380936" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Xiaomi-New-Logo.png?x44794" alt="Xiaomi New Logo" width="864" height="442" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Xiaomi-New-Logo.png 864w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Xiaomi-New-Logo-300x153.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Xiaomi-New-Logo-768x393.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Xiaomi-New-Logo-696x356.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/03/Xiaomi-New-Logo-821x420.png 821w" sizes="(max-width: 864px) 100vw, 864px" /></p>
<p>Unsurprisingly, there are a lot of technical procedures and philosophical explanations behind the design of the logo. Xiaomi says the designer used the “superellipse” mathematical formula for the design and had to adjust the variables to get a visually optimal dynamic balance and a perfect balance between a square and a circle.</p>
<blockquote class="td_pull_quote td_pull_center"><p>Compared with a right-angled object, a circle is a shape that is more agile, which is the perfect representation of Xiaomi’s flexibility, relentlessness, and will to move forward.</p></blockquote>
<p>Xiaomi says that it will continue to use orange as its corporate color which is why the color of the logo is unchanged. However, it will use Black and Silver variants of the logo as supplemental colors for high-end products.</p>

<p>Prepear is a meal planning application that is targetted towards children, but according to Apple, the company is hurting its business despite not even being in the same line of operations. Allegedly, the brand logo similarity is the cause of the issue. Prepear is currently available on both Google Play and App Store and is owned by Super Healthy Kids. In no manner does it even compete with the Cupertino based giant and its logo isn&#8217;t even regarding the same fruit.</p>

The trademark was for a new logo design for its <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/kirin/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Kirin</a> chips, with the new logo having a Dragon.</p>

<p>For those unaware, Huawei&#8217;s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/hisilicon/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">HiSilicon</a> designs its proprietary Kirin mobile chipsets. The blogger on the popular Chinese microblogging website found the trademark which had been applied for in June 2020. Looking at the images shared on the Weibo post, a smiling Dragon can be seen in the logo. The dragon resembles the ones depicted in traditional Chinese lores, with the inclusion of legs and wings.</p>

<p>This new design comes as a breath of fresh air since the original logo is just a plain red ribbon. Notably, the new dragon design carries the current ribbon logo on its chest to signify its roots. Unfortunately, we may never see this new logo design being unveiled or even announced. Trademark applications don&#8217;t always see the light of day, so we will have to wait for an official announcement.</p>

<p>In the Weibo post, Ni Fei shared an image poster. This picture showcased Nubia&#8217;s current brand logo, which was being peeled off. This offers just a slight view of the upcoming new brand logo underneath, like a sticker being removed. The brand logo we see today is etched in white on a red background, while the yet to be announced one features the inverse, with red branding on a white background.</p>
<h6 class="related"><strong>Editor&#8217;s Pick: <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/04/10/miui-exec-miui-12-will-bring-uniformed-fonts-and-ui-elements-common-loading-screens-for-system-apps-more/">MIUI 12 will bring Uniformed Fonts and UI Elements, Common Loading Screens for System Apps &amp; more</a></strong></h6>
<p>Unfortunately, the image shared doesn&#8217;t reveal even a single letter of the new logo. So, it is unclear if the change will be drastic, or whether the company would go for a more sober look; something that brands tend to lean on after a certain period of time. What we do know so far is that the new branding will be unveiled on 13th April 2020, which is on a Monday next week. So stay tuned for more.</p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">From a startup to a fully-fledged premium smartphone brand, </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/OnePlus/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">OnePlus </span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">has come a long way since its inception in 2013. Now, as the brand is all set to unveil its 7th generation of smartphones, it has also tweaked its logo with bold letters and icons. In case you are wondering, the OnePlus 8 series is indeed the seventh generation of phones from the company as it ditched number 4 back in 2017 by l</span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/06/20/oneplus-5-launched-dual-cameras-year-solid-price/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">aunching the OnePlus 5</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Although OnePlus still depends on feedback from its community, the brand has shifted its philosophy from making ‘flagship killers’ to producing ‘premium flagships’ competing directly with the big names like Apple, Samsung, and Huawei. Also, the brand still somehow manages to undercut the competitors by pricing its devices slightly cheaper with OxygenOS as an icing on the cake.</span></p>

<p><em>Original Story as follows.</em></p>
<p>OnePlus had <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/03/16/oneplus-8-series-launch-date-could-finally-be-revealed-on-march-18/">recently teased</a> to announce something new on 18th March which was later confirmed to be the company&#8217;s new branding. Yesterday, the new logo of the Chinese smartphone maker was leaked online.</p>
<p>Now, keeping its promise, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/oneplus">OnePlus</a> has today officially revealed its new logo which is now live on the company&#8217;s website. We checked the company&#8217;s official website of several countries including China, India, and the United States and almost all of them now carry the new logo. However, at the time of wiring this, the Australia website and the Global website still has the old logo.</p>

<p>As for the new logo, the icon remains mostly unchanged but the text is now different. The font that the company has used is a bit heavier, making it line up closely with the branding of the recently launched <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-7t/">OnePlus 7T</a> series.</p>
<p>Since the new logo has been officially revealed, we now expect the company&#8217;s upcoming flagship smartphones &#8212; OnePlus 8, <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/oneplus-8-pro">8 Pro</a>, and 8 Lite to carry this new branding, on the device as well as packaging.</p>
