<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-redmi-k20-pro/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Redmi K20 Pro</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> was the first premium smartphone with Redmi branding. It was launched in early 2019. The device is also known as </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-9t-pro/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Mi 9T Pro</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> in several markets.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The phone was regarded as a successor of the original </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-pocophone-f1/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Poco F1</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> aka Pocophone F1 due to its set of features and price tag. In fact, if alleged pictures and rumors are to be believed, Xiaomi was actually considering to rebranded this handset as Poco F2 for markets outside mainland China.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The Redmi K20 Pro features a 6.39-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC, LPDDR4x RAM, UFS 2.1 storage, 48MP (wide) + 13MP (ultra-wide) + 8MP (2x telephoto) triple cmaera system, 20MP pop-up selfie camera, in-screen fingerprint sensor, 4,000mAh battery, and 27W fast charging.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The device was truly a flagship killer smartphone during its time in the market. But unfortunately, its software support hasn’t been spectacular.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The phone debuted with MIUI 10 based on Android 9.0 Pie. Throughout its lifetime, it only received two </span><a href="https://gizmochina.com/tag/MIUI/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">MIUI</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> and Android updates. Currently, it runs Android 10-based MIUI 12.5.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">However, it is worth noting that two major OS updates were the norm for handsets released during those times. But what’s not acceptable is the </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2022/01/17/redmi-k20-plagued-with-100s-of-bugs-xiaomi-has-reportedly-ended-support-for-the-phone/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">buggy software</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> for which there will be no fixes since the support has now officially ended.</span></p>

It was launched back in August 2019 running Android Pie layered with MIUI 10 atop. It has since been updated to Android 10 and has been awaiting Android 11. To recall, the phone first got a taste of Android 11 back in early 2021 when it rolled out in China.</p>
<p>However, no Android 11 rolled out in regions like India and Redmi Note 8 users therein have been waiting on the same <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2021/11/16/redmi-note-8-gets-android-11-after-9-months-in-india-miui-12-5-awaited/">for over 9 months now</a>. That has changed now though with the release of build 12.0.1.0.RCOINXM that carries a size of 2.2GB. The update has only rolled out to those part of the Mi Pilot Testers program currently, meaning regular users may still have to wait for a few more days.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="size-large wp-image-427220 aligncenter" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/redmi-note-8-android-11-update-india-473x1024.jpg?x44794" alt="redmi note 8 android 11 update india" width="473" height="1024" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/redmi-note-8-android-11-update-india-473x1024.jpg 473w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/redmi-note-8-android-11-update-india-138x300.jpg 138w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/redmi-note-8-android-11-update-india-768x1664.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/redmi-note-8-android-11-update-india-696x1508.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/redmi-note-8-android-11-update-india-1068x2314.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/redmi-note-8-android-11-update-india-194x420.jpg 194w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/11/redmi-note-8-android-11-update-india.jpg 1080w" sizes="(max-width: 473px) 100vw, 473px" /></p>
<p>In terms of features, there&#8217;s barely anything new considering that the ROM is still based on MIUI 12. Yes, you heard that right &#8211; MIUI 13 is set to be launched by the end of this year but the Redmi Note 8 is yet to get a taste of MIUI 12.5. The device is still eligible for MIUI 13 though, so perhaps, Xiaomi plans to upgrade the device directly to the same.</p>
<p>Tipster Abhishek Yadav <a href="https://twitter.com/yabhishekhd/status/1463769336376557569">claims</a> that the Android 11 update for the device is laggy, but it does add stuff like the October security patch, support for RAM extension, n<span class="css-901oao css-16my406 r-poiln3 r-bcqeeo r-qvutc0">avigation pill, and horizontal recents arrangement.</span></p>

<p>But now that Android 11 is finally here, it&#8217;s time for some bad news. Xiaomi typically updates its budget devices with at least three MIUI versions and two Android versions, so the Redmi Note 8 is nearing its end of life. Daily Chinese beta builds have already stopped for it along with the Xiaomi Mi 9, Mi 9 SE, Mi 9 Lite (Mi CC9), Mi 9 Pro 5G, Redmi K20 (Mi 9T), Redmi K20 Pro (Mi 9T Pro), and Redmi Note 8 Pro (via <a href="https://t.me/xiaomiui/9914">Xiaomiui</a>). This means that MIUI 13 will be the last major update for these devices.</p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Xiaomi </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/04/27/miui-12-launched-all-new-features-and-supported-devices/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">unveiled MIUI 12 in late April</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">. Since then, the world’s third-largest smartphone maker has been updating its devices to the latest version of its mobile software. As of now, the company’s flagship, mid-range, select budget phones have received the update. Only certain budget and older handsets are yet to get the update.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">On the other hand, the 2020 premium devices that have been updated to MIUI 12 have also </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/12/07/xiaomi-mi-10-pro-redmi-k30-pro-poco-f2-pro-android-11-update/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">started receiving Android 11 update</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;">. Hence, the firm has now </span><a href="https://www.ithome.com/0/524/094.htm"><span style="font-weight: 400;">revealed</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> the next batch of handsets that will be getting the latest version of Android.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">The below-mentioned smartphones will start receiving </span><a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/MIUI-12/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">MIUI 12</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> beta builds based on </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/Android-11/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Android 11</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> once the program continues after its temporary halt.</span></p>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Mi 9 Pro</span></li>
</ul>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">That said, it is not sure when Android 11 builds will be released for the above-mentioned phones. Because the company has </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2020/12/09/xiaomi-confirms-the-arrival-of-miui-12-5/"><span style="font-weight: 400;">suspended the beta program</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400;"> for an unspecific period of time from next week ahead of MIUI 12.5 release.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Anyway, even after the firm starts releasing those builds, the final stable update for different regions may take time to arrive.</span></p>
<p><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Note</strong></span>: Redmi K30 4G, POCO X2, Redmi K30 5G, Mi CC9 Pro, Mi CC9 Pro Premium Edition, Mi Note 10, and Mi 10 Pro from 2019 are also eligible for Android 11 update. These handsets have been receiving MIUI 12 beta builds based on Android 11 for a few months now.</p>

Both phones are the international variants of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-redmi-k20/">Redmi K20</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-redmi-k20-pro/">Redmi K20 Pro</a> respectively. Details regarding the availability and pricing of the Mi 9T Pro in the old continent have surfaced.</p>
<p>The Mi 9T Pro has been listed online by <a href="https://www.belsimpel.nl/xiaomi-mi-9t-pro/">Belsimpel</a>, the official distributor for Xiaomi products in The Netherlands. The listing reveals the phone will be available in 64GB and 128GB versions and both storage variants will be available in blue, black, red, and white.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-268924" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Mi-9T-Pro-Europe.png?x44794" alt="Mi 9T Pro Europe" width="1374" height="697" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Mi-9T-Pro-Europe.png 1374w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Mi-9T-Pro-Europe-300x152.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Mi-9T-Pro-Europe-768x390.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Mi-9T-Pro-Europe-1024x519.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Mi-9T-Pro-Europe-696x353.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Mi-9T-Pro-Europe-1068x542.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/08/Mi-9T-Pro-Europe-828x420.png 828w" sizes="(max-width: 1374px) 100vw, 1374px" /></p>
<p>The Mi 9T Pro 6GB RAM + 64GB will sell for €429 while the Mi 9T Pro with 6GB RAM and 128GB of storage has a price tag of €479. The listing says the phone is “expected soon” but you can go ahead to make an order.</p>
<p>At the above prices, the Mi 9T Pro sells for less than the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/oneplus-7/">OnePlus 7</a> which is priced at €559 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB version and €609 for the 8GB RAM + 256GB version. Belsimpel actually has the OnePlus 7 for €533 and €584 respectively.</p>
<p>The Mi 9T Pro has a 6.39-inch Super AMOLED display with no notch nor punch hole but a pop-up selfie camera. The display is covered with Gorilla Glass 5 and there is an in-display fingerprint scanner. The phone is powered by the Snapdragon 855 processor. It has a 48MP primary rear camera, an 8MP telephoto camera, and a 13MP ultrawide angle camera. The selfie camera is a 20MP sensor.</p>
<p>The phone has NFC, Bluetooth 5.0, an audio jack, and packs a 4000mAh battery with support for 27W fast charging and Quick Charge 4+. It runs MIUI 10 based on Android 9 Pie.</p>
<p>We expect more details about availability will surface in the coming weeks.</p>

<p>According to a Polish blog, <em>Spiders Web</em>, the <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/redmi">Redmi</a> K20 series will make its way to Poland but as <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/xiaomi">Xiaomi</a>-branded devices. The blog was specific about the names too &#8211; the Redmi K20 will launch as the Mi 9T while the Redmi K20 Pro will be sold as the Mi 9T Pro.</p>
<p>The blog refused to mention the source of the information but claimed it is a very credible one. They also mentioned that a release date is currently unknown but did say their prices will be <em>similar</em> to that of the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-9-se/">Mi 9 SE</a> and the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/xiaomi-mi-9/">Mi 9</a>. We do not think this means they will have the same prices but rather share the same price difference.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><div class="su-note" style="border-color:#e5e5e5;border-radius:3px;-moz-border-radius:3px;-webkit-border-radius:3px;"><div class="su-note-inner su-u-clearfix su-u-trim" style="background-color:#ffffff;border-color:#ffffff;color:#333333;border-radius:3px;-moz-border-radius:3px;-webkit-border-radius:3px;">Editor&#8217;s Pick:<a href="http://bit.ly/2W1JtBv"> Xiaomi turned 9 This Year: We Document Its Journey &amp; Major Milestones!</a></div></div>
<p>The Mi 9T name isn&#8217;t new as it was <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2019/05/21/unannounced-xiaomi-mi-9t-model-number-m1903f10g-receives-certification-in-thailand/">spotted last week at Thailand&#8217;s certification agency</a> as well as Taiwan and Singapore&#8217;s agencies too. This is an indication that Poland will not be the only country where the Redmi K20 will launch as the Mi 9T.</p>
<p>The Redmi K20 will come with a Snapdragon 730 processor while the Redmi K20 Pro will have the Snapdragon 855. Both phones will have a pop-up selfie camera, triple rear cameras, a 4000mAh battery with support for fast-charging, an audio jack, Hi-Res audio, dual-frequency GPS, NFC, and a notch-free AMOLED display with a 7th-gen in-display fingerprint scanner.</p>
