The Mi Note 2 came with a curved OLED display which gives it a uniquely different look from other Xiaomi smartphones. The OLED panel is said to be a flexible type, supplied by LG and due to the flexibility production output has been low.

Now, what is likely another version of the Mi Note 2 has been spotted on TENAA where it was certified. The TENAA listed device has the model number 2015212. The spectacular thing about the TENAA listing, apart from the specs which align, is the model number which follows closely, those of the Mi Note 2 versions released. Ni Note 2 first appeared in 4GB and 6GB RAM versions having model numbers 2015211 and 2015213.

Read Also: Coral Blue Xiaomi Mi Note 2 Coming Soon?

Unfortunately, the TENAA listing wasn’t accompanied by images of the smartphone, so we can’t ascertain if it is really the Mi Note 2. But it is likely Xiaomi is will modify a few features on this model like a lower RAM size or using a normal OLED instead of the flexible one in order to boost production output. However, the device is listed as packing a 5.7-inch display with a dimension of 156.2 x 77.2 x 7.6mm and a battery capacity of 4070mAh. All similar with the Mi Note 2 presently in the market.

Earlier today, new images of a Mi smartphone, most likely the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 surfaced on Weibo, revealing a different design than what we had seen for the phone. Some say that it could be the Mi 6 flagship, but it is a bit too early for even the prototypes to emerge, given that the Mi 5S was just launched.

So, we are assuming this is the upcoming Mi Note 2 phone. The design is different, in the sense, the corners are rounder than other Xiaomi flagships and the overall look of the device is unique to the company’s smartphone lineup. Apart from the Mi logo on the back of the phone, there’s nothing else to confirm that this is a Xiaomi smartphone.

What’s interesting about the phone is that it features a curved screen design. While we can’t verify whether it’s a dual curved edge display or just a normal 2.5D curved display, the front for sure looks good. Further, you have the oblong home button below the display, like the Mi 5 which should come with a fingerprint sensor embedded into it.

Other specs of the Mi Note 2 are expected to be very high-end, much better than the Mi 5S as well. You can read more about that from here.

So, what do you think about this new design?

Xiaomi’s co-founder had previously revealed that the company was preparing the launch of a new flagship smartphone in August. While the company is yet to confirm that the new product launching is going to be the Xiaomi Mi Note 2, a new device has just passed the Chinese 3C certification website. Considering the charging specs of this certified device, it is a high-end smartphone model, which means it could be the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 flagship.

The listing reveals that the phone supports 5v 2.5A, 9V 2A and 12V 1.5A charging, which takes the maximum wattage to 18W. So, this means that the phone comes with fast charging support. Further, today’s listing of the device confirms that the phone will be manufactured by Foxconn.

READ MORE: Analyst: Xiaomi’s Mi 5s and Mi Note 2 to Cost More

Considering the above information, it looks like the device certified is a flagship model, which could be none other than the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 flagship. Previous rumors have said that the phone should be the first Chinese model to feature the Snapdragon 821 chipset. There should be 4GB / 6GB RAM variants and we could also see a curved screen display version.

While Xiaomi is yet to confirm that the Mi Note 2 is coming, the previous generation Mi Note models are no longer available for purchase from the official company store, which should be a good indication that a new model is coming.

If the launch is indeed in August, then we are quite sure that new information about the device will pop up on the internet pretty soon. So, stay tuned!
