Moto G Pure packs Helio G25 chip, dual cameras, 2-day battery life for $160

Motorola has a new smartphone for those on a tight budget. The new Moto G Pure is a sub-$200 4G phone with modest specs.

The Moto G Pure packs a 6.5-inch Max Vision HD+ display. It is not unusual to find such screen sizes on budget phones. Nevertheless, it should come in handy for those who prefer watching movies and shows on their phones.

There is an Helio G25 processor inside the phone along with 3GB of RAM. You only get 32GB of storage but there is a MicroSD card slot that can take cards up to 512GB in capacity.

A single 5MP camera sits in front inside the waterdrop notch while the back is home to a dual-camera setup that includes a 13MP f/2.2 primary sensor and a 2MP f/2.4 depth sensor. Familiar camera features such as portrait mode, smart composition, and Spot color are available in the camera app.

Alongside the dual cameras on the back, there is also a fingerprint scanner which is a nice addition. You also have the option of using face unlock but that isn’t as secure. Under the plastic body is a 4000mAh battery which Motorola boasts will last up to 2 days on a single charge. Buyers will get a 10W charger in the box.

The Moto G Pure has an IP52 rating and a water-repellent design. There is a USB-C port at the bottom and an audio jack at the top. There is a single SIM card slot (nano), Bluetooth 5.0, and dual-band WiFi but no NFC. Motorola ships the phone with My UX based on Android 11 and it comes with useful features such as three-finger screenshot, flip for DND, lift to unlock, and attentive display to name a few.

Priced at $160, the Moto G Pure is available in a single color – Deep Indigo. The phone will be available through Motorola.com as well as partner stores next week.

Moto G Pure, Moto E40 new images appear before launch

Motorola is reportedly gearing up to launch two new phones such as Moto G Pure and Moto E40. Earlier this week, well-known tipster Steve Hemmerstoffer shared an official render of the Moto G Pure. Now, reputed tipster Evan Blass shared a new render of the smartphone. At the same time, tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore has also shared new renders of the upcoming Moto E40 handset.

Moto G Pure

The new render of the Moto G Pure is equipped with a teardrop notch display with a fairly thick chin. The back panel of the device has a vertical dual-camera setup. The Motorola batwing available on the backside of the phone may function as a fingerprint scanner. The right edge of the phone features a volume rocker and a power key.

The previously seen images of the Moto G Pure show that it is equipped with a USB-C port and a 3.5mm audio jack. It is speculated to arrive in two colors such as Electric Graphite (shown above) and Lagoon Green. It is expected to arrive with specs like a 6.5-inch AMOLED display, Helio G25 or G35 chip, 3 GB of RAM, 32 GB of storage, 48-megapixel + 2-megapixel (depth) dual-camera system, a 5-megapixel front camera, and a 4,000mAh battery with 10W charging support.

Moto E40

The fresh renders of the Moto E40. It is expected to come with a 6.5-inch IPS LCD HD+ 90Hz display, Unisoc T700 chipset, 4 GB of RAM, 64 GB of storage, Android 11 Go edition, and a 4,000mAh battery with 10W charging.

The E40 has an 8-megapixel front camera and a 48-megapixel + 2-megapixel (macro) + 2-megapixel (depth) triple camera unit. The handset offers other specs like a fingerprint scanner, a 3.5mm audio jack, a USB-C port, a Google Assistant button, IP52 rating, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, and GPS. It measures 165.08 x 75.64 x 9.14mm and weighs 198 grams. It is likely to cost under €200

Motorola’s next phone is the Moto G Pure and here is an early look

The Moto G series is arguably Motorola’s most popular line of smartphones. This year, no fewer than seven new Moto G phones have been announced, a mix of 4G and 5G models. Motorola isn’t done for the year yet as a leak has revealed details of its next phone which will launch as the Moto G Pure.

The Moto G Pure is a smartphone with a mix of budget and mid-range specs. It also has a design akin to its lower-priced Moto E series as seen in the renders provided by Steve Hemmerstoffer a.k.a. OnLeaks in collaboration with the blog, Zouton.

As seen in the images and video, the Moto G Pure will pack a display with a waterdrop notch and a bigger than average chin. On the back of the phone are two dual cameras and a fingerprint scanner. It also has an audio jack at the top and the spec sheet says that it has a USB-C port.

With respect to its specs, the Moto G Pure will have a 6.5-inch display which is revealed to be an AMOLED panel. Motorola will ship it with an Helio G25 processor and the base model will have 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. The source reports that earlier prototypes of the phone had an Helio P22 chipset before Motorola decided to switch to the Helio G25 for better performance.

For the cameras, we are surprised Motorola isn’t joining the 50MP bandwagon as the Moto G Pure is said to have a 48MP primary camera. The main sensor is paired with a 2MP depth sensor while the waterdrop notch houses a 5MP camera. The rest of the specs include a 4000mAh battery capacity, support for 10W charging, and a dedicated microphone for noise cancelation. A Geekbench listing already revealed that it will run Android 11.

The Moto G Pure will be available in Electric Graphite and Lagoon Green when it launches in the second week of October in North America. Its retail price is reported to be between $300 to $350 which is pretty expensive for a phone with these specs.

Motorola seems to be gearing up for the launch of a new smartphone dubbed Moto G Pure. The upcoming smartphone is expected to be an entry-level offering in the Moto G lineup. The G Pure recently popped up on GeekBench, revealing some key specifications of Moto’s upcoming budget-oriented smartphone.

The Moto G Pure was spotted on GeekBench with Mediatek’s Helio G25 chipset. The upcoming smartphone would be coming with atleast 3GB of RAM and will be running Android 11 out of the box. The Moto G Pure managed to score 135 in the single-core tests and 501 points in the multi-core tests. The upcoming smartphone would be quite an affordable offering from Motorola targetted towards developing markets considering the hardware.

The upcoming smartphone from Motorola also appeared in a couple of certifications last month. The smartphone appeared on REL Canada certification bearing the model number XT2163-4. Later, the smartphone was spotted on FCC and Wi-Fi alliance certification, revealing that the Moto G Pure would be running Android 11 out of the box.

The Moto G Pure was also spotted on TUV certification, revealing some key specifications of the smartphone. As per the certification, the smartphone would come with a 4,000mAh battery. Apart from this, there’s not much known about the Moto G Pure, but we expect more details to follow soon as the launch seems imminent.

In related news, Motorola recently announced another G series smartphone, the Moto G50. The Moto G50 comes with a 6.5-inch LCD with an HD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 90Hz. The smartphone is powered by Mediatek’s Dimensity 700 chipset paired with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It comes with a triple rear camera setup consisting of a 48MP main camera, 2MP macro camera and 2MP depth sensor. The smartphone comes with a 5,000mAh battery with support for 15W fast charging. It runs Motorola My UX on top of Android 11. The Moto G50 retails for AUD 399 (~$289).

Last month, Motorola announced the Edge series of smartphones comprising of three phones in the global market. These include the Motorola Edge 20, Motorola Edge 20 Pro, and Motorola Edge 20 Lite. Now, the company seems to be launching yet another smartphone dubbed Moto G Pure as it surfaces in multiple certifications.

A smartphone with model number XT2163-4 has arrived on multiple listings. Firstly, the device has emerged in the REL Canada certification affirming its moniker to be the Motorola Moto G Pure. It also surfaced on FCC and Wi-Fi alliance certification which revealed its boot OS to be Android 11 out of the box.

Additionally, the smartphone also appeared on TUV certification confirming its battery capacity. According to the listing, the device packs a 4,000mAh battery with 10W charging support.

Apart from this, the other details about the phone are yet to be known. Since we are hearing about the phone for the first time, we expect the device to appear more in future leaks.

Motorola Edge 20 Fusion

In related news, the recently launched Motorola Edge 20 series is slated to land the Indian market soon. Reportedly, there will be a new phone called Motorola Edge 20 Fusion which is touted to be a rebadged model of the Motorola Edge 20 Lite.

If we talk about its specs, the smartphone is expected to have the same design as the Lite variant. But, will board the MediaTek Dimensity 800U SoC instead of the Dimensity 720 SoC. Other specs include a 6.7-inch display, 108MP cameras, and a big battery.
