<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/motorola/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Motorola</a>’s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/motorla-razr-fold" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Razr fold</a> has received a DXOMARK camera score of 164, earning the DXOMARK Gold Label for imaging performance. According to DXOMARK’s rankings, this score places the device among the top cameras on foldable smartphones and ranks it 8th overall globally, beating competitors like the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2025/08/31/google-pixel-10-pro-xl-dxomar-camera-scores/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Google Pixel 10 Pro XL</a> and the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/01/29/xiaomi-17-pro-max-camera-dxomark-ranking/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Xiaomi 17 Pro Max</a>. Motorola’s recently launched <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/01/08/motorola-signature-surprises-in-camera-comparison-with-iphone-17-pro-and-vivo-x300-pro/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Motorola Signature</a> has also received the same label from the testing lab.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="683" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/DXO-Blog-Header-1024x683.png?x10805" alt="" class="wp-image-729532" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/DXO-Blog-Header-1024x683.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/DXO-Blog-Header-300x200.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/DXO-Blog-Header-768x512.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/DXO-Blog-Header-1536x1025.png 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/DXO-Blog-Header-696x464.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/DXO-Blog-Header-1068x712.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/DXO-Blog-Header-630x420.png 630w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/DXO-Blog-Header.png 1919w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure></div>

<p>For those unaware, DXOMARK is an independent technology evaluation laboratory that measures the performance of consumer electronics using controlled scientific tests and perceptual analysis. To determine the score, the Razr fold was evaluated using the DXOMARK Camera test suite, which analyzes photo quality, zoom capability, and video performance from a user perspective.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="921" height="531" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Screenshot-2026-03-05-060144.png?x10805" alt="" class="wp-image-729531" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Screenshot-2026-03-05-060144.png 921w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Screenshot-2026-03-05-060144-300x173.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Screenshot-2026-03-05-060144-768x443.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Screenshot-2026-03-05-060144-696x401.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Screenshot-2026-03-05-060144-728x420.png 728w" sizes="(max-width: 921px) 100vw, 921px" /></figure></div>

<p>In its findings, DXOMARK reported that the Razr fold performed well in exposure accuracy, dynamic range, and low-light photography. The device produced balanced colors across different lighting conditions, while maintaining good detail and relatively low image noise. The lab also observed accurate skin tone rendering and consistent depth estimation, which helped portrait shots appear natural.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="338" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Camera-photos-2000x661-1-1024x338.jpg?x10805" alt="" class="wp-image-729533" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Camera-photos-2000x661-1-1024x338.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Camera-photos-2000x661-1-300x99.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Camera-photos-2000x661-1-768x254.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Camera-photos-2000x661-1-1536x508.jpg 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Camera-photos-2000x661-1-696x230.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Camera-photos-2000x661-1-1068x353.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Camera-photos-2000x661-1-1920x635.jpg 1920w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Camera-photos-2000x661-1-1271x420.jpg 1271w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Camera-photos-2000x661-1.jpg 2000w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>Zoom performance was another area highlighted in the evaluation. The Razr fold includes a dedicated 3x periscope telephoto camera, which produced detailed images with stable color reproduction during testing. DXOMARK noted a balanced texture-to-noise ratio, which helped maintain clarity in zoomed images. Portrait photography also benefited from the 85mm equivalent focal length, which creates natural subject separation. The ultra-wide camera captured a wide field of view while maintaining consistent image quality.</p>

<p>The camera hardware on the Razr fold includes three 50MP rear cameras equipped with Sony LYTIA sensors. The 50MP main camera uses the Sony LYTIA 828 sensor, which Motorola describes as its largest 50MP sensor so far. The system supports AI-based image processing and produces photos with Pantone-validated color and skin tone calibration.</p>

<p>The 50MP periscope telephoto camera uses the Sony LYTIA 600 sensor and supports 3x optical zoom. The phone also offers 100x Super Zoom Pro, which relies on AI processing to maintain detail at long distances. Optical image stabilization is included to reduce blur in zoom shots. The 50MP ultra-wide camera provides a 122° field of view and supports Macro Vision for close-up photography.</p>

<p>For selfies and video calls, the device includes a 20MP front camera with Quad Pixel technology and a 32MP internal camera with Quad Pixel technology, which can be used in laptop mode for hands-free photos or video calls.</p>

<p>Video recording on the Razr fold supports 8K resolution with Dolby Vision, which allows higher dynamic range and improved color reproduction.</p>

<p>Image processing on the device is handled by Motorola’s Photo Enhancement Engine, which uses AI to expand dynamic range, reduce noise, and create software-based bokeh effects. The system also uses the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 Mobile Platform, which supports AI processing for camera performance and efficiency.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="714" height="915" data-id="729124" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Motorola-Razr-Fold-Geekbench-.png?x10805" alt="Motorola Razr Fold Geekbench-" class="wp-image-729124" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Motorola-Razr-Fold-Geekbench-.png 714w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Motorola-Razr-Fold-Geekbench--234x300.png 234w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Motorola-Razr-Fold-Geekbench--696x892.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/03/Motorola-Razr-Fold-Geekbench--328x420.png 328w" sizes="(max-width: 714px) 100vw, 714px" /><figcaption>Motorola Razr Fold Geekbench (metadata)</figcaption></figure>

<p>The Geekbench entry reveals that the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/motorla-razr-fold">Motorola Razr Fold</a> is powered by Qualcomm’s <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/snapdragon-8-gen-5">Snapdragon 8 Gen 5</a> chipset. The listing shows a single-core score of 2,681 and a multi-core score of 9,056, suggesting flagship-grade performance. The processor configuration points to a high-performance setup with cores clocked up to 3.80GHz, paired with the Adreno 829 GPU. The tested unit carries 16GB of RAM and runs Android 16, likely layered with Motorola’s Hello UX interface.</p>

<p>Interestingly, Motorola has not opted for the more powerful Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 variant. This could be a strategic move to keep overall costs in check, especially considering the expensive nature of book-style foldable hardware. The benchmark also confirms Android 16 and 16GB RAM, positioning the device firmly in the premium segment.</p>

<p>While <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/samsung">Samsung</a> and <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/motorola">Motorola</a> have both been prominent fixtures in the American foldable landscape for several years, their strategies have followed different paths. Samsung has long provided a dual-track lineup of both book-style and clamshell devices. In contrast, Motorola focused exclusively on the flip-phone format until this year.</p>

<p>That changed at the CES 2026 tech exhibition in Las Vegas, where Motorola unveiled the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/motorola-razr-fold">Motorola Razr Fold</a>, its <a href="about:blank">first book-style foldable </a>designed to challenge the traditional leaders of the category.</p>

<h2><strong>Motorola’s rapid climb: The new challenger</strong></h2>

<p>Motorola&#8217;s success story is rooted in its ability to offer high-end technology at a more palatable price point. This approach has allowed the company to climb the ranks and become the number two smartphone brand in the United States specifically within the foldable segment.</p>

<p>By capturing a significant 28 percent of the US foldable market, Motorola has done the unthinkable by actually outperforming Samsung in specific growth metrics. This shift indicates that American consumers are no longer defaulting to Samsung as the only viable choice for a folding device. The brand’s momentum is largely driven by its ability to listen to user feedback, resulting in hardware that feels both premium and practical.</p>

<h2><strong>The stylus edge and display dominance</strong></h2>

<p>When comparing the screens, the Razr Fold makes a bold statement. It offers a slightly larger internal display and a marginally bigger cover screen than its primary rival, giving users more real estate for multitasking. However, the most significant advantage lies in functionality: stylus support.</p>

<p>While the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-z-fold-7">Galaxy Z Fold 7</a> lacks stylus support and the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/galaxy-z-fold-8/">Z Fold 8</a>, arriving later this yea,r is expected to bring back this feature, the Razr Fold already embraces this tool. For a device with such a massive screen, the ability to use a pen for sketching or taking notes is a major productivity win.</p>

<h2><strong>A better value proposition: Price and features</strong></h2>

<p>The most compelling argument for the Razr Fold is the sheer value it provides. It is expected to hit the market at a lower price point than the Galaxy Z Fold, yet it doesn’t feel like a “budget” alternative. Motorola has managed to pack in high-end features that are often missing or less impressive on more expensive devices.</p>

<p>The Razr Fold’s camera setup, which includes triple 50MP cameras, including a periscope telephoto camera, appears more impressive on paper compared to what Samsung offers on its foldable. For instance, the Galaxy Z Fold 7 features a 200-megapixel main camera, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 10-megapixel telephoto camera.</p>

<p>Motorola hasn’t disclosed all the detailed specifications of the Razr Fold yet. Therefore, details about its chipset and battery remain unknown. What appears certain is that its battery pack could be significantly larger than the Z Fold 7’s 4,400mAh unit. The Razr Fold is also expected to offer faster charging capabilities.</p>

<p>By undercutting Samsung&#8217;s pricing, Motorola is effectively removing the entry barrier for users who want a book-style foldable but cannot justify a $2,000 investment.</p>

<p>The Razr Fold is expected to hit North American markets by the third quarter of this year. Therefore, more details about its specifications and pricing are likely to surface around that time.</p>

<h2><strong>Foldables and flagship innovations</strong></h2>

<p>One of the most eye-catching phones at CES 2026 was the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/samsung-galaxy-z-trifold">Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold</a>, a tri-folding device that opens up into a large 10-inch internal display while still folding into a compact form. This much-talked-about phone runs on a powerful Snapdragon chipset and features a 200-megapixel main camera, aiming to blend productivity and entertainment in a single device. Samsung announced pricing at 3.59 million won (around $3,700) in Korea, with wider global availability planned in the coming months.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="600" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Moto-Razr-Fold-with-stylus-input-leak.jpg?x10805" alt="Moto-Razr-Fold-with-stylus-input-leak" class="wp-image-722315" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Moto-Razr-Fold-with-stylus-input-leak.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Moto-Razr-Fold-with-stylus-input-leak-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Moto-Razr-Fold-with-stylus-input-leak-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Moto-Razr-Fold-with-stylus-input-leak-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Moto-Razr-Fold-with-stylus-input-leak-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /><figcaption>Motorola Razr Fold</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>Motorola joined the foldable conversation with the <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/motorola-razr-fold">Motorola Razr Fold</a>, a new book-style foldable that brings an 8.1-inch internal display and a 6.6-inch external screen into a design that pays homage to its classic Razr lineage. It also integrates a triple 50-megapixel camera array and stylus support that aims to appeal to productivity-oriented users.</p>

<p>Flagship phones also featured strongly. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/motorola-signature">Motorola’s Signature</a> phone, equipped with Snapdragon 8 Gen 5 performance, a 6.8-inch Extreme AMOLED display and a 50-megapixel triple camera setup, was priced at about €999 (approximately $1,170) in its initial European markets.</p>

<h2><strong>Fresh ideas and practical picks</strong></h2>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="640" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/TCL-NxtPaper-70-Pro-1024x640.png?x10805" alt="TCL NxtPaper 70 Pro" class="wp-image-722433" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/TCL-NxtPaper-70-Pro-1024x640.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/TCL-NxtPaper-70-Pro-300x188.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/TCL-NxtPaper-70-Pro-768x480.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/TCL-NxtPaper-70-Pro-696x435.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/TCL-NxtPaper-70-Pro-1068x668.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/TCL-NxtPaper-70-Pro-672x420.png 672w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/TCL-NxtPaper-70-Pro.png 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>TCL Nxtpaper 70 Pro</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>Beyond foldables and traditional flagship models, several devices stood out for their unique propositions. <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2026/01/06/tcl-nxtpaper-70-pro-with-nxtpaper-4-0-display-announced/">TCL’s Nxtpaper 70 Pro</a> grabbed interest with its eye-friendly matte display and Gemini AI support, bringing a fresh idea for mid-range phones. The 256 GB configuration was announced at €339 (around $400), positioning it as a compelling alternative in its segment.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-full"><img loading="lazy" width="900" height="600" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Infinix-Note-60-global-satellite-connectivity-for-HD-calls.jpg?x10805" alt="Infinix Note 60 global satellite connectivity for HD calls" class="wp-image-722571" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Infinix-Note-60-global-satellite-connectivity-for-HD-calls.jpg 900w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Infinix-Note-60-global-satellite-connectivity-for-HD-calls-300x200.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Infinix-Note-60-global-satellite-connectivity-for-HD-calls-768x512.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Infinix-Note-60-global-satellite-connectivity-for-HD-calls-696x464.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Infinix-Note-60-global-satellite-connectivity-for-HD-calls-630x420.jpg 630w" sizes="(max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px" /><figcaption>Infinix Note 60 has global satellite connectivity for HD calls</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>Infinix also made a notable appearance with its Infinix Note 60 series, highlighted for global satellite calling and messaging support, a feature that allows basic communication even where conventional networks are unavailable. While official pricing hasn’t been fully confirmed, the innovative connectivity and the introduction of HydroFlow liquid cooling and ModuVerse modular accessory support suggest that Infinix is aiming for a mix of utility and differentiated features at an attractive price point.</p>

<p>A particularly intriguing announcement at CES 2026 was the Clicks Communicator, a smartphone designed with a physical QWERTY keyboard that evokes the nostalgia of classic BlackBerry-style devices. It features a 4.03-inch AMOLED screen, Android 16 with support for major messaging apps, a 50-megapixel rear camera, and 256 GB of storage expandable up to 2 TB via microSD. The device was priced at $499 for full retail, with early reservation pricing starting at $399.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="676" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/image-63-1024x676.png?x10805" alt="Clicks Communicator" class="wp-image-723047" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/image-63-1024x676.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/image-63-300x198.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/image-63-768x507.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/image-63-1536x1015.png 1536w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/image-63-696x460.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/image-63-1068x706.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/image-63-636x420.png 636w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/image-63.png 1653w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Clicks Communicator</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>The Communicator’s focus on messaging and productivity offers a different take on smartphone use, where tactile input and streamlined communication replace hours of endless scrolling. It also includes a 3.5 mm headphone jack, a 4,000 mAh battery, and is pitched both as a secondary device and a possible primary phone for enthusiasts of physical keyboards.</p>

<p>Overall, the best phones at CES 2026 highlighted varied approaches to smartphone innovation, with foldables pushing new form factors, flagships reinforcing performance standards, and mid-range devices like TCL’s matte display phone and Infinix’s satellite-enabled models proving that innovation is not limited to premium segments. Unconventional devices such as the Clicks Communicator also showed there is still room for ideas focused on communication and productivity, as brands continue to experiment beyond conventional slab-style smartphones.</p>

<p><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/category/motorola">Motorola</a> has revealed a new addition to its foldable lineup at <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/ces-2026">CES 2026</a> with the Razr Fold, signalling a shift beyond the flip-style phones the brand is best known for. While several details are still under wraps, Motorola has confirmed the form factor, display sizes, camera setup, and stylus support, offering a clear idea of where the device is positioned.</p>

<h3><strong>Motorola Razr Fold: Design, display, and core features</strong></h3>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter size-large"><img loading="lazy" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Motorola-Razr-Fold-1024x576.png?x10805" alt="Motorola Razr Fold" class="wp-image-722539" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Motorola-Razr-Fold-1024x576.png 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Motorola-Razr-Fold-300x169.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Motorola-Razr-Fold-768x432.png 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Motorola-Razr-Fold-696x392.png 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Motorola-Razr-Fold-1068x601.png 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Motorola-Razr-Fold-747x420.png 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/01/Motorola-Razr-Fold.png 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption>Motorola Razr Fold</figcaption></figure></div>

<p>The <a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/product/motorla-razr-fold">Razr Fold</a> is Motorola’s first book-style foldable smartphone, opening up like a compact tablet rather than folding vertically. It features an 8.1-inch LTPO foldable inner display with 2K resolution, aimed at productivity, media consumption, and multitasking. When closed, users can rely on a large 6.6-inch cover screen that functions much like a regular smartphone display, reducing the need to open the device for everyday tasks.</p>

<p>Photography is a key focus. The Razr Fold comes with a triple rear camera setup, all rated at 50-megapixel. This includes a Sony LYTIA main sensor, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide camera with macro support, and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera offering 3x optical zoom. For selfies and video calls, Motorola has added a 32-megapixel camera on the outer display and a 20-megapixel camera on the inner screen. Video recording supports Dolby Vision, aligning the phone with premium content creation needs.</p>

<p>On the software side, Motorola has highlighted foldable-focused features such as adaptive layouts, flexible app behaviour, and improved multitasking. The Razr Fold also supports the Moto Pen Ultra stylus, adding note-taking and creative capabilities that are still uncommon in this segment. The phone will be offered in Pantone Blackened Blue and Pantone Lily White finishes, continuing Motorola’s design-led approach.</p>

<h3><strong>Motorola Razr Fold: Price and availability</strong></h3>

<p>Motorola has not revealed full pricing details yet but leaks and industry sources indicate the Razr Fold could be priced starting around <strong>$1,500</strong>. More complete pricing and availability information for regions including the United States, is expected closer to the global launch, which is slated for summer 2026.</p>
