<p><span style="font-weight: 400">The aftermath of this was that </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/softbank/"><span style="font-weight: 400">Softbank</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> now values its </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/arm/"><span style="font-weight: 400">ARM</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> chip-making business as more crucial to the entire tech industry. So valuable in fact, that Softbank is actually considering listing its ARM business as an entity on the US NASDAQ Stock Market to gain more funding to further develop the company.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">According to </span><a href="https://asia.nikkei.com/Spotlight/Caixin/Arm-wants-distance-from-troubled-China-subsidiary-amid-IPO-hopes"><span style="font-weight: 400">Nikkei Asia</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">, industry sources say that </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/softbank/"><span style="font-weight: 400">SoftBank</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> wanted the NASDAQ IPO(Initial Public Offering) to take place by the end of March 2023, meaning that </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/arm/"><span style="font-weight: 400">ARM</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> needs to complete auditing between June and September this year, as per NASDAQ listing procedures.</span></p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">However, </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/arm/"><span style="font-weight: 400">ARM</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> has one problem that has yet to be resolved to complete its internal organisation auditing, which is its tense relationship with ARM China, the Chinese subsidiary of </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/arm/"><span style="font-weight: 400">ARM</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400">.</span></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="alignnone size-full wp-image-453916" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/ARM-china-subsidiary.jpg?x44794" alt="ARM China" width="3362" height="1891" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/ARM-china-subsidiary.jpg 3362w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/ARM-china-subsidiary-300x169.jpg 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/ARM-china-subsidiary-768x432.jpg 768w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/ARM-china-subsidiary-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/ARM-china-subsidiary-696x391.jpg 696w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/ARM-china-subsidiary-1068x601.jpg 1068w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/ARM-china-subsidiary-747x420.jpg 747w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/ARM-china-subsidiary-1920x1080.jpg 1920w" sizes="(max-width: 3362px) 100vw, 3362px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Ever since 2020, </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/arm/"><span style="font-weight: 400">ARM</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> has struggled to regain control of ARM China as the subsidiary&#8217;s head, Allen Wu, has refused to relinquish power despite a 7-1 board vote in June 2020 to kick him out. The spat has made it difficult for ARM to audit the financials of the company, creating a major stumbling block to an initial public offering in the US.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">Because of this, </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/arm/"><span style="font-weight: 400">ARM</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> decided to now transfer its shares in its wayward China joint venture to a special purpose vehicle that it jointly owns with its parent </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/softbank/"><span style="font-weight: 400">SoftBank</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> Group Corp. A partner at the U.S. law firm Katten Muchin Rosenman, Han Lijie, commented that creating a special purpose vehicle that will not be part of the offering will allow </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/arm/"><span style="font-weight: 400">ARM</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> to indirectly hold ARM China shares. That means it can treat ARM China as an investment rather than a subsidiary when reporting financials.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-weight: 400">The move by </span><a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/tag/arm/"><span style="font-weight: 400">ARM</span></a><span style="font-weight: 400"> is seen to be clever, as it is now able to speed up its plans to go public if it decides to list in the US.</span></p>

<p>Huami which was founded in 2013 will list as HMI on Nasdaq. It is reported to have filed confidentiality in November, 2017. Credit Suisee, Citi, and China Renaissance are listed as underwriters.</p>
<p>In the SEC filing, Huami revealed that it is the sole partner of Xiaomi for the design and manufacture of Xiaomi-branded smart bands, watches, scales, and associated wearables with the exception of children watches and quartz watches.</p>
<p>Huami goes on to say that Xiaomi which owns 19.3% of the company&#8217;s shares is the sole customer and distribution channel for Xiaomi wearables. Sales of Xiaomi products contributed 97.1% in 2015, 92.1% in 2016, and 82.4% for the nine months ended on September 30 in 2017 to its revenue.</p>
<p>Huami also sells its own products which are not made for Xiaomi under the “Amazfit” brand. Products under the Amazfit brand cater to the middle and high-end market.</p>
