While the lineup will be announced on July 8 in Malaysia, it will launch earlier on July 3 in Indonesia. Ahead of the launch, regional listings have revealed key details about the upcoming Oppo devices.

The Reno 16 series landing page available on Oppo Malaysia’s website reveals that it is now up for pre-orders. The microsite also reveals that the brand will unveil other devices, such as the Oppo Bubble, a display that can be attached to the back of the Reno 16 series, and earbuds such as the Enco Air 5 and Enco Air 5s.

On the other hand, Oppo Indonesia is also accepting pre-orders for the Reno 16 series and has dedicated landing pages for each of the three phones. The Reno 16F, which will be an entry-level offering in the lineup, will have two variants: 8GB+128GB and 8GB+256GB. It will come in color options such as Dream Purple, Pop White, and Twilight Violet.

The listing reveals that an upcoming Oppo smartphone bearing the model number CPH2863 has appeared on Geekbench. Previous certification listings have confirmed that this model number belongs to the global version of the Reno 16 Pro.

The Geekbench listing reveals that the device is powered by the MediaTek MT6899 chip. Its CPU configuration and GPU details (via metadata) suggest that it is powered by the Dimensity 8500 chipset. To put this into context, the Chinese edition of the Reno 16 features the Dimensity 8550 Super chip.

The Dimensity 8550 Super and Dimensity 8550 share the same CPU and GPU specifications, but the 8550 Super mainly offers AI-related enhancements. Therefore, there is a possibility that the Reno 16 Pro’s chipset could actually be the Dimensity 8550.

Coming back to the Geekbench listing, the Reno 16 Pro is equipped with 12GB of RAM and runs Android 16. In Geekbench’s single-core and multi-core tests, the device achieved scores of 1,575 and 5,889 points, respectively.

According to leaked information, the Oppo Reno 16 series may adopt a dual-size flat display strategy. The Reno 16 is tipped to feature a 6.32-inch 1.5K OLED flat display, while the Reno 16 Pro could arrive with a larger 6.78-inch 1.5K OLED panel with LTPO adaptive refresh rate support. Reports also suggest that both phones may feature metal middle frames and multiple colour options.

The Reno 16 Pro is expected to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chipset, whereas the standard Reno 16 may ship with the Dimensity 8550 processor. Battery capacity could become one of the biggest highlights of the lineup, with the Reno 16 tipped to pack a 6,700mAh battery and the Pro variant expected to feature a 7,000mAh battery. Both models are said to support 80W wired fast charging, while the Pro edition may additionally support 50W wireless charging.

For photography, the Reno 16 series is rumored to feature a triple-camera setup consisting of a 200-megapixel Samsung HP5 primary camera, a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto camera. The Reno 16 will arrive in Fairy Purple, Lucky Clover, Black Horse, and Heartbeat Star color options, whereas the Reno 16 Pro is tipped to launch in Dream Blue, Black Horse, and Heartbeat Star shades. 

Reports also hint at a new accessory called “Oppo Bubble”, which may feature a smart electronic display with support for custom wallpapers and remote photography controls.

As far as global launch is concerned, it is expected to happen in June or July.

This month, Oppo will unveil the Reno 16 series in China. The lineup is expected to reach global markets around July. The Chinese lineup may include the Reno 16, Reno 16 Pro, and Reno 16c as successors to the Reno 15, 15 Pro, and 15c. A new development suggests that the global market may also receive a model called the Reno 16F.

Oppo Reno 16 Pro, Reno 16F global versions spotted

As seen above, the global versions of the Reno 16 Pro and Reno 16F have received multiple certifications. The UAE’s TDRA authority has approved the Reno 16 Pro with model number CPH2863, and the same device has also appeared on Europe’s EEC certification platform.

At the same time, the Reno 16F with model number CPH2859 has appeared in the databases of TDRA and Thailand’s NBTC certification authority. The device has also been approved by the TÜV certification platform, which reveals support for 80W fast charging.

The Reno 16 Pro and Reno 16F have also surfaced in the NBD database, revealing that both devices could be available in a 12GB + 512GB configuration.

The NBD database also reveals details about another Oppo phone with model number CPH2865, which could be part of the Reno 16 series. The listing suggests that the device features a 6.587-inch display, 12GB of RAM, and 256GB of built-in storage.

Reports have revealed that the Chinese versions of the Reno 16 and Reno 16 Pro will be powered by the Dimensity 8500 and Dimensity 9500 chipsets, respectively. It remains to be seen whether the Chinese and global versions will share identical specifications.

Global markets may have to wait longer, as the brand is currently focused on releasing the Oppo Find X9 Ultra and Find X9s in additional regions over the coming weeks. As a result, the Reno 16 lineup could debut globally around July.

There is no information yet about the Reno 16’s battery, but the larger model is rumored to pack a battery with around 7,000mAh capacity.

The Reno 16 Pro’s camera setup may include a 200-megapixel primary camera, accompanied by an ultra-wide lens and a periscope telephoto camera. At present, there are no details about the Reno 16’s cameras, but it may offer the same camera setup as the Pro model while using different sensors.

Ahead of the expected launch, the tipster has shared key details about the Reno 16 Pro and Reno 16.

The Reno 16 Pro is said to feature a flat OLED LTPO display with narrow bezels, measuring around 6.78 inches and offering a 1.5K resolution. In terms of design, the device may come with a metal frame, indicating a more premium build compared to earlier models.

It is expected to be powered by the Dimensity 9500s chipset and could pack a battery in the 7000mAh range. While there is no confirmed information about charging capabilities, it may support around 80W wired and 50W wireless charging, similar to the previous generation.

For photography, the device may feature a 200-megapixel primary camera paired with a periscope telephoto lens. Compared to the Reno 15 Pro, which offered a 200-megapixel main, 50-megapixel ultra-wide, and 50-megapixel periscope setup, the Reno 16 Pro could retain a similar camera system.
