In a push to bring the latest Android 14-based Oxygen OS 14 for its compatible smartphones and tablets, the company is here with an Open Beta 1 build for the OnePlus 10T. The smartphone’s India variant is receiving the build, and the users can enjoy the new features right away.

The new build does bring improved features and enhancements which elevate the user experience. Despite all the new additions, there are some issues that could be a bottleneck for normal users. It is advised not to install if you have a single smartphone as your daily drive. Below are the primary issues on the build:

- Dark mode does not take effect in some apps.
- Failure for screen mirroring when using multi-screen connect.
- The screen isn't off when lifting to ear to answer calls.

Oxygen OS 14 Open Beta 1 is available for the first 5,000 users who would like to enjoy the new update. Before updating, make sure your device is running the latest Oxygen OS 13 or Oxygen OS 14 Closed Beta Builds:

About a month after the rollout of OOS 14 Closed Beta, the OnePlus 10 Pro and OnePlus 11R are receiving a more stable Open Beta 1. OnePlus 10 Pro Oxygen OS 14 Open Beta 1

After a month of testing on Closed Beta, the company is here with its first Open Beta build for the smartphone. It is currently available for the OnePlus 10 Pro India Variant. There are several improvements and changes but still plagued with some issues. Below is the official changelog:

However, the Dark Mode functionality is not stable across some apps, and even the screen mirroring fails while using a multi-screen connection. Even the proximity sensor seems to malfunction while answering calls as the screen doesn’t go off.

The Closed Beta users will receive the update or can manually check for the update by heading to device settings. The program is limited to the first 5000 users who would want to directly flash the Open Beta Build. Before updating, the device must be running NE2211_13.1.0.593(EX01) firmware. To apply, head over to Settings > About device > Tap up to date > Tap icon on the top right > Beta program > Follow the steps to apply.

OnePlus 11R India Vairant is receiving the Oxygen OS 14 Open Beta 1 build bundling several new changes. Apart from several refinements, the build still carries some issues that make it unsuitable for daily usage. Below is the official changelog:

Adds support for app-specific refresh rates to improve user experience.

User Care

- Adds a carbon tracking AOD that visualizes the carbon emissions you avoid by walking instead of driving.

There are certain issues that might affect the user experience. There are a couple of issues related to the Network, and calling facility. Even if it fails to connect to the restarted car, the proximity sensor is causing display issues while answering calls.

The Oxygen OS 14 Open Beta 1 build is available for the first 5000 interested users. Before installing the update, your phone must be running either of these firmware:

The Oxygen OS 14 Open Beta build is finally here for the OnePlus Nord 3. Following the OnePlus 11, the Nord 3 became 2nd OnePlus smartphone to receive the Open Beta build of the latest Oxygen OS iteration. It received the Oxygen OS 14 Closed Beta a few weeks ago. The India Vairant users can now enjoy the Android 14 features on the OnePlus Nord 3.

Oxygen OS 14 Open Beta for OnePlus Nord 3 Details

The users can be the first to enjoy the new features and enhancements on the OxygenOS 14. Unlike the Closed Beta program which is limited to selected users, the Open Beta is available for any interested user who wants to try the update before the stable build. However, it is available to the first 5000 participants who have their phone running CPH2491_13.1.0.581(EX01) firmware.

There are several new feature additions and changes including a new Cloud Photo Service in Google Photos, enhanced Security and Privacry, optimized performance, and a new Aquamorphic design.

There are always some disadvantages to enjoying the new update, and yes, OOS 14 Open Beta 1 does carry some bugs and issues that may cause inconvenience for normal users. It is always better to wait for the stable build, but those who are flashing the OOS 14 Open Beta make sure you’re aware of these issues:

• Probable flashback issue when clicking on some cards in Shelf.
• Dual channel network acceleration function cannot be triggered automatically.
• Abnormal display issue of bokeh icon when switching to front camera in portrait mode.

Before upgrading the device should be running the latest OxygenOS 13.1 firmware, ensure 30% of the device battery and at least 4 GB storage is empty. Once opted for the Open Beta update, the user must head over to Settings > About device > Tap up to date > Tap icon on the top right > Beta program and follow the steps to apply the update.

OnePlus will bring OxygenOS 14 to a total of 15 smartphones by next year. All the smartphones listed in the OxygenOS 14 Open Beta timeline will receive the update.
