The 6nm chipset is expected to appear in devices soon, and information reaching us has revealed that Realme will be one of the first manufacturers to launch a phone powered by the chipset.</p>
<p>According to info shared with us by the manufacturer, the Realme phone is codenamed “Quicksilver” and <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/realme">Realme</a> is working closely with <a href="http://gizmochina.com/tag/qualcomm">Qualcomm</a> on its development.</p>

<p>The specs of the phone are still a mystery at this point and so is the design. Nevertheless, we expect it to pack impressive features.</p>
<p>The Snapdragon 778G is an octa-core processor with Kryo 670 CPU (Cortex-A78) cores clocked at 2.4GHz. It has an Adreno 642L GPU, a Hexagon 770 AI Engine, and a Spectra 570L ISP. The chipset will support displays with resolutions up to FHD+ and refresh rates up to 144Hz.</p>
<p>There is a Snapdragon X53 modem that brings support for mmWave and Sub-6 networks. It also has support for SA and NSA networks. Qualcomm says that the peak download speed goes up to 3.3Gbps. The chip has Qualcomm&#8217;s FastConnect 6700 as well as support for Wi-Fi 6E, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and NavIC. Qualcomm has also added support for aptX Adaptive Audio and Snapdragon Sound technology Suite.</p>

So you have the Snapdragon 835 Mobile Platform, the Snapdragon 660 Mobile platform and so on.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-131810" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/Qualcomm-snapdragon.jpg?x96852" alt="Qualcomm Snapdragon" width="600" height="399" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/Qualcomm-snapdragon.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/05/Qualcomm-snapdragon-300x200.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<p>Although people haven&#8217;t fully switched to calling them mobile platforms, Qualcomm is bringing a new change. You know how the chips usually have special model numbers that has the alphabets MSM and four digits after e.g. MSM8998, MSM8996 or MSM8976. That too is going out the window.</p>
<p>Instead it will use the SDMxxx short form you must have come across in several write-ups. That means the Snapdragon 845 will be referred to as SDM845 and not MSM9000. The info comes from Weibo user @I iceUniverse.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-136066" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/Qualcomm-Mobile-Platform-Naming.png?x96852" alt="Qualcomm Mobile Platform Naming" width="731" height="195" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/Qualcomm-Mobile-Platform-Naming.png 731w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/Qualcomm-Mobile-Platform-Naming-300x80.png 300w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/Qualcomm-Mobile-Platform-Naming-730x195.png 730w" sizes="(max-width: 731px) 100vw, 731px" /> <img loading="lazy" class="aligncenter size-full wp-image-136069" src="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/Qualcomm-SDM-naming.jpg?x96852" alt="" width="600" height="153" srcset="https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/Qualcomm-SDM-naming.jpg 600w, https://www.gizmochina.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/Qualcomm-SDM-naming-300x77.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /></p>
<p>It appears Qualcomm as been using the new naming format already as it was seen in a leaked document that first mentioned the Snapdragon 845 back in May. A screenshot of the document shows the SDM630, SDM 660 and SDM845 mobile processors. I think this naming is much better as folks and easier for people to follow.</p>
<p style="text-align: center"><span style="color: #ff0000">READ MORE:</span> Q<a href="https://www.gizmochina.com/2017/06/09/qualcomm-snapdragon-660-actually-replacement-slower-snapdragon-835-variant-analyst/">ualcomm Snapdragon 660 Is Actually A Replacement For A Slower Snapdragon 835 Variant: Analyst</a></p>
<p>The SDM845 is reported to be manufactured by TSMC and will be a 7nm chip. It will offer a 25% increase in performance and a 35% decrease in power consumption over the SD835. The new chip should power the Samsung Galaxy S9 and the LG G7 next year.</p>
