The Buds Air 6 does not look too different from its predecessor. The pebble-shaped device feels smooth to hold and offers a comfortable grip. At the bottom, it features a USB-C port and a physical button for Bluetooth pairing. It comes in two shades, such as Forest Green and Flame Silver. I prefer the silver variant, which has orange-colored internals. Whether it is a workout session or a rainy day, the IP55-rated Buds Air 6 can handle it all without compromising performance.

The Buds Air 6’s retail package includes the Buds Air 6, extra ear tips, a USB-A to USB-C cable, and a user guide. I recommend buyers to consider using a silicone case to protect the charging case from scratches and other damage, ensuring long-term durability and maintaining the device’s aesthetics.

One of the standout features of the Realme Buds Air 6 is its hi-res certification and LHDC 5.0 high-definition audio decoding. The 10-minute fast-charging capability of the Buds Air 6 provides up to 7 hours of music playback, which is incredibly convenient for quick top-ups. During my usage, I rarely found myself worrying about battery life, even on extended trips.

Additional Features

The Realme Buds Air 6 supports Bluetooth 5.3, ensuring a stable and fast connection within a 10-metre range. The 55ms low latency is good for gamers and those who watch videos frequently. Activating the gaming mode reduced latency significantly, providing a more immersive experience without noticeable lag or disconnection issues.

Google Fast Pair makes the initial setup process straightforward, and the intelligent touch controls allow for easy management of calls, music, and noise cancellation modes without using the phone. The customizable gestures in the app add another layer of convenience, making these earbuds user-friendly and adaptable to individual preferences.

The Mindflow mode (available via the Realme Link app) offers over 10 high-quality audio tracks for various activities like exercising, working, meditating, or napping, helping users achieve deep immersion quickly.

Voice assistant support, OTA upgrades, equalizer options, and wearing detection further add to the convenience. The earbuds’ intelligent touch controls are responsive and easy to use, with options for play/pause, call management, noise cancellation mode switching, and more.

One of the key features that’s lacking on the Buds Air 6 is dual device connectivity. This feature is available on the Buds Air 6 Pro, which is currently only available in the Chinese market.

The company promises dynamic bass and up to 50 decibels of Active Noise Cancellation (ANC). For mobile gamers, there’s also a dedicated gaming mode that lowers the latency down to just 55ms. You can even pair these earbuds with two devices at the same time.

On a single full charge, it can last for up to 40 hours with the charging case while just 7 minutes of charging offers 7 hours of audio playback. Other notable features include IP55 water and dust resistance, Bluetooth 5.3, IP55 water and dust resistance, and touch controls. The Realme Buds Air 6 is currently listed on JD.com and the brand’s official website in China for 269 Yuan (roughly $37).

Realme Buds Air 6 Pro

Unlike the base model, the Buds Air 6 Pro variant offers a dual driver setup that consists of a 6mm tweeter and an 11mm woofer. It retains the 50dB ANC along with dual noise reduction microphones that reduce noise by up to 4000Hz. The earbuds also feature AI deep noise cancellation for calls. Apart from this, other aspects like the battery life, water resistance rating, and more are identical between the two versions. As of right now, the Realme Buds Air 6 Pro is also available on Realme online store and JD.com. It has a 469 Yuan price tag (roughly $65).

The Chinese brand had silently announced the Buds Air 6 and Buds Air 6 Pro via a listing on its official website. But apart from revealing its key specs, the pricing and release date were still at large. Now, a fresh teaser from the company has confirmed that it will be arriving alongside the GT Neo 6 on 9th May 2024, which is tomorrow. The new truly wireless earbuds will be announced at 2 PM CST.

The teaser also added that the Realme Buds Air 6 will offer up to 50 decibels of ANC (Active Noise Cancellation), LHDC 5.0, and Hi-Res certification as well. Based on what we know so far, the earbuds feature 12.4mm audio drivers and house six built-in microphones. Realme claims that it can last for up to 40 hours on a single full charge with the charging case. Although, this will likely vary with ANC enabled.

The earbuds can offer 7 hours of audio playback with just a 10 minute charge. It will even offer an IP55 rating for water and dust resistance. The Realme Buds Air 6 Pro features similar specifications but with 3D spatial sound effects for an improved listening experience as well as a bigger battery.

Today, Realme quietly put up the GT Neo 6 for reservations in China without making any formal announcement. Similarly, the company has also revealed the full specifications of its latest earbuds, the Realme Buds Air 6 and Air 6 Pro, on its website. 

Both models sport a similar design and offer a comparable set of features. Let’s delve into the specifics in this article

Realme Buds Air 6

The Buds Air 6 is fitted with a 12.4mm dynamic driver which Realme claims delivers “shocking bass and clear and bright mids and highs.” The buds also have an “independent bionic back cavity design” for improved mid and low-frequency performance.

The TWS has Hi-Res certification alongside LHDC 5.0 for high-fidelity audio. You also get active noise cancellation (ANC) that can filter noise up to 50 dB.

Additionally, the buds offer 4000Hz ultra-wideband noise reduction and “adaptive scene-based noise reduction,” automatically adjusting noise cancellation based on your surroundings. 

They come equipped with six built-in microphones featuring AI noise reduction for clearer conversations.

Battery-wise, they offer up to 40 hours of playback with the charging case, while the buds alone can last up to 6 hours on a single charge in ANC mode. The case supports fast charging, providing 7 hours of playback with just a 10-minute charge.

Not to forget, the Buds Air 6 also has a low-latency mode of 55ms for gaming and comes in Serenity Green, Titanium Sky Orange, and Purple colors.

Realme Buds Air 6 Pro

The step-up Buds Air 6 Pro features a coaxial dual-unit design with an 11mm woofer and a 6mm micro-planar tweeter. The Pro model also boasts Hi-Res certification but swaps out LHDC on the base model for LDAC codec.

Other specifics of the Buds Air 6 Pro closely mirror the Air 6. Both offer 50dB ANC, 4000Hz ultra-wideband noise reduction, and adaptive scene-based noise cancellation. They also share the same six-microphone setup with AI noise reduction for calls and a low-latency mode of 55ms.

The Pro model, however, has a slightly higher battery rating of 7.5 hours on a single charge for the buds in ANC mode. The charging case provides a similar 40 hours of playback time and can quickly charge the buds for 7 hours of playback with just a 10-minute charge.

Exclusive to the Pro model is a feature called “3D spatial sound effects,” which improves the users listening experience by creating a more immersive audio environment. The Realme Buds Air 6 Pro comes in Galaxy Titanium and Glacier Silver color.

Pricing and Availability

Although Realme has revealed the specifications of both the Buds Air 6 and Air 6 Pro, the company hasn’t provided any details regarding pricing or availability. We’ll be sure to keep you updated on this.
